  1. 1. I believe 2. Rooster was built for the Playoffs with how much grit he has, it's his and Argos time to shine 3. Team chemistry and Fuhr being built like brick wall 4. A couple enchiladas, a nice afternoon nap, and a ton of water. 5. I'll put my odds down on a possible Seattle Bears run 8. Mid/Eastern Europe trip (Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, Budapest, Croatia)
  2. Really dig this signature. I find light sigs to be harder to work with than dark sigs, especially ones that are a cleaner style. Solid blending, really great font choice and positioning, and overall great coloring and flow in the entire signature. Only suggestions I could make would be to add a grey color dodge lighting source on the the players, and add a low opacity / dark brush on the sides to pull the focal point even tighter. Maybe an extra Image > Apply Image > Filter > Sharpen (then erase the sides) to make it pop even more. Overall, great work. 9/10
  3. This is actually lowkey super underrated. Really nice selection of players, and all around positioning of the photos and text. What I'm surprised most by is how consistent the exposure, contrast, and coloring is across all of the player photos. The choice of having all dark jerseys was a smart one, as anyone in an away jersey would stand out way more than the others. Simple and clean, but sometimes clean involves more thought than a more complex gfx 9.75/10
  4. With 16 games remaining in the S82 VHLM regular season, the Mexico City Kings seem to have solidified their 3rd position in the Western Conference. Trailing Houston by 12 points, and ahead of Las Vegas by 15 points, both position changes seem unlikely at this point. The goal moving forward is clear for the young squad, win. In order to do that, the Kings will need to clean up the mistakes that have lead to the recent scoring droughts. A weak secondary defense that has been recently exploited means that all four forward lines need to be running on a productive offense. Lead by their leading scorers Matt Rooster and Jason Argos, the Kings are going to need to regain the secondary scoring that made their team so lethal only a week ago and establish some consistency. While being one of the hardest working players of the VHLM over the last month, Tomas Sogaard's point production hasn't been up to par with what he had hoped. Here's what he had to say in an interview following the 3-0 loss to the Ottawa Lynx. "We need to be better, I need to be better, especially for our goalies who have been stellar all year. Even though I've been working extremely hard off the ice and getting stronger, other teams have been as well. One thing I do know, we have the pieces and the locker room necessary to go far."
  5. Game 326: Vancouver Wolves vs. Los Angeles Stars The showdown of the VHL occurred in Los Angeles today, and it was an electrifying one for any fan that was lucky enough to tune in. With 98 shots over the 60 minutes of ice-time, both goalies displayed magnificent poise. The Los Angeles came ahead with the win 5-3, putting them square with the Wolves well into the stretch of the regular season. Many predict these two teams will meet in the playoffs, with the winner heading to being the favorite to take the final series. This is a rivalry to keep your eye on.
  6. Nice work, perfect jersey swap, and fantastic choice of colors, along with the darkening of the sides of the signature which brings out the focal point. I dig this signature. For changes, I would personally love to see more lighting on the middle of the signature, maybe a bit more grey color dodge lighting on the helmet, or a large white brush placed above the signature with low opacity to create a light source effect. Also, I'd love to see the left shoulder patch not be blurred as much, although at the same time of saying that, you may have tried that and found that it took away from the focal point (which may happen if you unblur that). I like the coloring choice of the inside of the text as well, nice all around. 8.5/10
  7. How the heck you made 6 signatures for this week and all make them fit well is insane. The goalie signature with the mask is my favorite personally, the colors and shapes of the mask blend really well with the background. The only thing I would say would be to add a bit of darkness to the sides and increase the brightness even more on the focal point. Funny after looking at them all a long time, I found the more to the right the render was, the better I liked it. Killing it, as always. 9.5/10
  8. 1. I think we're hot and have a great core. Houston and Philly are our two biggest hurdles. 2. The one the only, Scotty Campbell. 3. The Praetorian Guard 4. We're only going to get better as our roster nears the TPE cap 5. Skating, Puck Handling, and Defense are what I'm going to be focusing for the next while. 6. Great acquisition, both active and great members of the lockerroom, and are putting up great numbers!
  9. 2. I think playoffs are a guarantee with this squad right now. Gaining a bit of depth on D will give us a shot at trying to make a run 3. I would have to say sneakily Ryuji Sakamoto @der meister, simply by the fact that he is an assist machine and is 1st in the league in shots blocked (almost 5 per game), with the 2nd ranked person having HALF HIS SHOTS BLOCKED... Backup would have to be Brandt Fuhr @Tate as he's at the top of the league in S% and has stolen multiple games thus far. 4. Definitely, went to a friend's house to watch. It was a wild game. Tough loss as a Bengals fan, but we'll be back. 6. Everyone's awareness of the current STHS attribute meta + decision making formula (including myself) 7. Watched all the snowboard competitions, but that's about it. Was pleasantly surprised by Max Parrot's performance. 8. All-time favorite show would have to be Parks & Rec
  10. Game Review (137: Halifax 21st vs Philadelphia Reapers): A close game that left many bookies in Las Vegas sweating during the 3rd period after Halifax mounted an epic comeback which left them merely one goal back of the VHLM leading Philadelphia Reapers with 8 minute to spare. Outshooting the Reapers 9-2 in the 3rd, Halifax continued their pressure but were unable to get past the starting goaltender, Red Gaming. With only 4 losses in 28 games, many did not expect the 3rd period to go the way it did, but the Reapers squeaked by with yet another win to continue their domination of the VHLM.
  11. Review: Love the unique look of this signature, really outside the box from what we usually see with regards to how the render was utilized. Exceptional usage of blending, and background / render work. I like the style of text chosen, it actually fits this signature really well. The only feedback that I have would be to possibly utilize a bit more lighting / darkening edges to make the focal point more central and pull the eye to the center / center left of the signature more. 9/10!
  12. Review: I have to say, this is one of my favorite signatures I have seen in a while. Jersey swap is on point, and all of the effects fit together really well. I like the usage of blur in the areas that you chose and the blending is exceptional. Big fan of the font choice as well, as I would struggle to find something that fits the style of this signature. I think the difficulty in achieving a signature of this quality with it being so clean is extremely underrated. I really have no changes that I would make, personally, other than bringing down the render by maybe 1-5 pixels, which really at the end of the day is nothing. 9.9/10
  13. VHL Wordle https://vhl-wordle.herokuapp.com 4 4/6 we swing for the fences my dudes LOL
  14. 1. We should aim to pick up a 2nd pairing defensive unit through waivers so we can upgrade the dead weight that is MEX D1 and MEX D2 getting 25 minutes a game (no offense MEX D1 & MEX D2 but you guys don't cut it) 2. You betcha, 2/2 baby. Thank god, I got gifted a question about Season 1 3. Bring back the Hamilton Canucks! 4. Some might say my only problem is my addiction to the local and authentic homemade enchiladas, they sure do give me a second wind in the 3rd when I'm eating them in between periods 5. I'll be going until my body breaks down (depreciation) 6. The real Katy Perry would tell me that I would never need to start again if I was confident in all of my decisions 7. Had a busy weekend so I wasn't able to catch them, but you bet I'll be watching Joe Burrr this Sunday 8. I was an active member of the VHL from 2006 - 2012 but ultimately had to stop because I didn't have any time with school / work (and there was no welfare system back then). I also just came to the realization that we probably have members who were born after I started my first player, which is pretty cool to think, and makes me nostalgic to how much the VHL was apart of my teenage years growing up
  15. Yeah, I was under the impression that #newcomers-help was more about questions to assist in getting a new member up to speed with their player on VHL! My thought was that #Introduce-Yourself would be a way for new members to introduce themselves in the discord, and have existing members welcome them. A much easier introduction than jumping straight into an ultra-active general chat!
  16. Reading through the comments, the only opinion that I can offer as a returning member, I think it would be nice to have an #Introduce-Yourself tab to the Discord underneath the #General tab. I found that when I joined, General Chat was extremely active and already having an existing conversation (15-20 replies per minute). I found myself hesitant to abruptly enter general chat and interject the conversation to introduce myself. I think if that's my thought as an returning member from S2 - S25, someone brand new to the league might find it a bit overwhelming to jump in and say hello, even though everyone is extremely kind and accepting!
  17. Just passed 100 TPE as @Moon's recruit. Here's confirmation for your 1 TPE bread
  18. +10 Tomas Søgaard (First Gen Bonus)
  19. Not the most ideal start to his VHLM career, one where Tomas Søgaard took an unnecessarily cheap slashing penalty behind the play to put the Mexico City Kings down by a goal in the first period (one that occurred on the ensuing powerplay). A selfish penalty that ultimately make him spend the rest of the game sitting on the bench only finished with five minutes of ice-time. After a talk from the Kings coach, Søgaard entered the second game wiser. It was a quiet night for the young dane, who didn’t have very many touches on the puck, but also one in which he did not take any penalties. Watching Søgaard move around the ice, it’s evident that he is still learning the new system, which relies heavily on puck possession. With that being said, over the next three games, Søgaard seemed to find his groove, with minimal special teams time. With help from his linemates McKay and Magomedov, Tomas was able to net 4 points over the next 3 games, including a game winning goal over the Houston Bulls with 2 minutes remaining in the third period. Things are looking up for the lone Danish prospect in the S83 draft class as he hopes to work his way up the Kings roster and turn some heads.
