Looking forward A preview into HC Davos' off-season DAVOS, SWITZERLAND -- While the Dynamo are still competing for a playoff spot, the front office has to have some sort of an eye toward the next off-season. In dealing with their unfriendly cap situation prior to the season, the Dynamo have put themselves in decent position to avoid a rebuild next year, with a lot of talent returning. However, there are risks to the plan -- both James Faraday and Oskars Harumpf are yet to sign extensions with HC Davos. Further, current leading scorer Devin Sundberg is pondering an early retirement. This would signal a significant blow to the Dynamo's potential for next season -- especially with such a competitive European Conference. If the Dynamo lose all three players without any compensation, they could be in trouble. "We'll take a look at that when the situation arises," head coach Jack Reilly said, "Right now, the goal is to put together a team that can make it to the playoffs."

Davos enters critical stretch DAVOS, SWITZERLAND -- After a disappointing loss to the New York Americans, the HC Davos Dynamo remain two points back of the Cologne Express and four points back of the Riga Reign. "Ideally, we can make up some ground at some point against the few teams above us," head coach Jack Reilly stated after the 4-2 loss against the Americans, "At some point, we absolutely have to make up ground." At this point in the season, the strength of schedule has been fairly even for those three teams battling for playoff position. Over the next 9 games, the Dynamo don't have any easy games, going up against Calgary twice, Helsinki twice, Stockholm twice, Quebec once, Riga once, and New York once. If they can hold their position through that stretch, the Dynamo should be poised to finally make up some ground. Some major issues for the Dynamo have been seriously lacking Power Play units, with the second worst power play % in the VHL. Overall, their PK has also been somewhat mediocre, ranking 6th in the VHL. Looking at the shot distribution, it's obvious Davos also needs an improvement in net as the Dynamo rank 4th in the VHL in shots for/against.

After a long, arduous battle, the below have been decided upon as our leadership staff for the S45 season in Switzerland. MASON RICHIE RICHARDSON - captain - Richardson has been a great leader since arriving in Davos. He's been an incredible help keeping the team steady on defense and also leading the way, giving us the best scouting advice in the draft. HE IS GOOD AT HOCKEY. SIMON VALMOUNT - alternate - Valmount has taken the Davos locker room by storm. He's an animal. Posts everywhere, demands awesomeness in the lockerroom. Perhaps, when Richardson retires, the great valMOUNT will take the captaincy reigns himself. JAMES FARADAY - alternate - Faraday is an excellent rigger in the VHLM. If Jardy goes missing for a few days and Draper is assassinated, he could single-handedly rig Davos to a championship. In all seriousness, Faraday is a champion and will lead Davos all the way in his alternative way. God bless. #speechover
