DAV G Returns from Steroid Suspension, Earns Shutout Tests positive for steroids in post-game, subsequently suspended
DAVOS, SWITZERLAND -- Backup goaltender DAV G has had a great start to S43, going 5-0 in his first 5 starts with an incomprehensible 97.6 SV% and 0.40 GAA. His incredible performance has led to suspicion around the league. After DAV G was "randomly" tested after his 2-1 win against Riga on Day 29, VHL commissioner Donald Graper handed down a 16-game suspension.
"It has come to our attention that DAV G has been taking performance-enhancing supplements," Graper said three weeks back, "This is obviously unacceptable and his indiscretion will be dealt with accordingly."
After his last performance, another shutout (his third in five games), the VHL announced another random test of DAV G. Early reports have surfaced that he will be suspended yet again. "We're just hopeful the league will hear our appeal that they did not allow sufficient time for the mistaken drugs to leave his system," Coach Jack Reilly said following the news, "We plan on starting him again while the appeal process is pending."
