With rumours increasing by the day that Stockholm Vikings will once again return to Vasteras this offseason, the rumours that Cologne could leave the German city at the end of the year pop up again. While the Express have had a volatile history in Cologne, there is no doubt that the franchise has increased the league's fan base in Germany. Younger hockey players in Germany now also have hometown idols to look up to, and since S31, the German players that have made their name on the international stage have been significant names. However, general manager Rudi Ying is understood to not be totally fond of the city, name, and brand, and is keen to put his own stamp on the franchise. The most likely landing spots for the franchise, if it does indeed uproot and move, are Ibiza, Spain; Reykjavik, Iceland; Beijing, China; Tallinn, Estonia; and Seoul, South Korea.
