Sirdsvaldis on VHLE Finals with Stockholm!
 
I wanted to release this statement to say that at first, when I joined Vikings, I honestly thought that this was a mistake for me, a lot of unknown players, unknown GM and everything just moving fast that I really didn't know what to do and what to expect at the end of the season. 
 
However, now my opinion has changed, I believe that Vikings are a cool team to be a part of. GM always gave me extra booze for whenever I wanted to chill out after a long practice session, I always had a group of teammates that wanted to get me free food. I am pretty sure that both GM and teammates were scared of me however. All in all, it was an interesting situation for sure. 
 
The best part of the Stockholm? I was fairly close to my home, in less then 12 hours I could be at home, chilling and eating some delicious homemade food in Latvia. What else can you even want when you are playing abroad? I think that we have finally come to understanding, the town and me. We both know where are the best bars and where not to send the police when we have won a game and Sirdsvaldis is raiding every late night place. 
 
In the end, I think, I just want to win it all with this team, I am sure that we are strong enough and that we have all the skills to win everything! Just put your big boy pants on and go win some hockey!

Hahha, okey, I see you! Let me start with a fact that will make a lot of people hate me - not a Star Wars fan. I wont give you points for the video editing as it's nothing original and Im sure if I would love to I could find such template ready to be rendered with my own text, but I will definitely give you points for the creative originality and that outro PS exploding Hulk Hogan! Overall I find it cool and funny!

First of all I, Matt Avens, would like to say that me and Sirdsvaldis does not share the same view about the team or lifestyle. I never wanted to share my food with him and I never found it to be professional for GM's to give him booze. But hey, you don't choose your family and you stick with them until the end and that is exactly what we did these playoffs. Not a star performance but still eleven points in nine games, so more than 1 point on avarage per game which is totally fine considering the time given on the ice. Team did exceptionally well, running over Rome Gladiators like a train taking all four wins in four games. I think we also answered the question of who would win a fight of Roman Gladiator and a Viking. Vikings would deeeeeestroooy gladiators! 
The emotions are still surreal and it will take a moment to come back to earth after getting the first cup ever in his career, but fear not, this is only beginning of the amazing career that Matt is gonna have from now on!

1. How was your Christmas if you celebrate? if not how is your holiday going!
Christmas was as usual as I dont really celebrate, but we usually would make more fancier dinner, same we did this year. Spent some time with family, so it was good!

Nothing is impossible!
3. How do you feel about your players performance thus far into the season?
I am happy with my players performance, but I feel he could have done way more. Quite few cold games from Matt.
4. worst gift you have ever received?
A mobile phone VR set.

Radio with a cassette player when I was 11.
6. What is your big goal for 2022?
I don't know, at the moment I'm thinking to maybe start little workout for a week and see how it goes. Get in shape I guess?

The time has finally come and Stockholm Vikings have secured their place in the upcoming VHLE playoffs and Matt cannot wait for it. With a strong and solid finish at the end of the season Stockholm Vikings are one of the favourites to take all of the season. The season could have been better as Matt hit some cold strike, but hopefully by the time when the team is getting on the ice, the cold strike will be long gone. Matt is ready for the fight and ready to destroy anyone who comes near him. Also a fun fact, Matt, managed to finish his regular season shot amounts at 420 which he find funny. Also sad fact that Matt was pushed out of top10 score list which is a little bummer, considering  that Matt promised to beat his secret rival, but in the end Matt fell behind when his competition continued to grow. Now lets wait and see how Matt is gonna be doing in the Play-Offs and he would not be against opportunity to be the best.

Okey, I definitely like what I see. Love the graphic overall. The little outline of the player is very nice touch, the jersey swap (if not mistaking) is quite good and even there is a lot of red I still enjoy the overall piece and it kinda fits. Also the text, although small, fits in well and compliments the graphic. Well done!

Alright, very nice scratchy style signature. I like the idea, just would like to see something bit more, because right now all there is for me is the player render and text, the background is nothing. Maybe something in the background and not the black part would make the signature to pop out way better.

Okey, okey, I feel you. A little tribute piece, not bad at all, good attempt with obvious areas to improve. Like the idea of the player render and then like an action picture from the game in the background. Text is not bad at all. Maybe there is too much of the black parts that could be replaced with something else. Yeh, not too shabby, good piece for a beginner.

Hahah, I was typing this in middle of the night after hard shift and I as falling asleep, literally passing out as I was typing. Im not even sure what I wrote there and how many mistakes I made and how dumb the whole thing sounds like, because I kid you not, I was re-reading first half of sentence, 3-5 times if not more, because I would pass out mid-read, trying to understand what Im writing and trying to say. When it comes to the minutes, I wanted to ask, but then realizing that I have like 20 games left, I decided not to be bothered as this is the first and only season Im gonna play in VHLE anyways. I dont think my player is not ready for big minutes as he was already playing them and thats why he is the teams scoring leader and top10 in league.

First of all it is good to see that you're self critical and know that your skills are not the best. That being said - wow! Although you said this is your pathetic attempt, this attempt is way better than some of the other stating graphic designers. You did a lot of things in the piece and I cannot say nothing bad about it, so good job mate! Continue the same way and you will learn and become better at what you do.

For Matt the changes did not make no sense, because he was putting up great numbers, but for some reason he ended up being so low. For Matt it meant only one thing - work, work, work. All his plans were out of window, because he couldn't give no benefit to himself or the team. The good part tho was that the team was still doing good and if they keep playing the same way, then playoffs are guaranteed. It has been few seasons since he played in playoffs and it was time to change that and make the playoffs with the team.

1. We recently acquired two new teammates in a trade, how do you feel about these trades and for the people that were traded here, how does it feel to be a Viking now?
It all depends on how well they will be able to work with the players already on the team. If they can quickly adapts, then we will do great!

Stretch and drink glass of cold water!

1. We started off a little slow, but now we are starting to roll, do you think this will keep up?
- I definitely hope so, because I experienced this with Mexico City Kings in VHLM, so I don't want to experience again.
2. We recently picked up a back up goalie, do you think this gives us the push to be a top team again?
- Depends on the goalie. If the goalie is shit, then no, if he's good, then yes.
3. Are you happy with your players point total? do you feel like you are contributing even if you lack points? (remember points do not mean anything)
- I am happy with the points, yes, as Im one of the leagues top scorers and point earners. Still not the 1st, so could do few goals or passes more per game.
4. Are you happy that the season is finally happening?
- Of course, finally the fun has started!
5. Is there any team you think will be our rivals this season? 
- Im not focusing on that, I will leave the rival thinking to the managers and coaches. I will focus on scoring!
6. Do you have a player rival in the VHLE as of right now? 
- Yes, my rival is Kyosti Karjalainen. He has beaten me in every draft by couple of picks earlier and now he is leading the league as well, so he is my main rival. I just need to become better than he is.

After the VHLM draft when Matt was still back in Mexico City, playing for Mexico City Kings, he was not happy about his draft pick. He was happy he got drafted at all, but he felt like he was better than a lot of the players that went before him and the worst part was that he had no idea what caused it. Why did these weaker players went before him? Was it some sort of potential that the coaches saw in others that they did not see in Matt? Was it that those players better fit in into the teams dynamics and personalities? No matter what it was, Matt promised himself that he will destroy the VHLM and show other teams why they should have picked him up while they could. The season started and Matt was doing exactly what he promised to do, but in first few weeks he never reached that top 1 spot. He was in top5 and top3, but never the top1. At first he did not pay much attention on who he was being beaten by as he focused on his own results, but then on week 3 of the season he looked at the statistics and who was in front of him. He saw this name of the Swedish player - Kyosti Karjalainen. Doing a little bit more research about this player as Matt never heard about him before, it turned out that Kyosti has been beating Matt all this time. On S80 VHLM draft Kyosti was drafted 25th, while Matt was drafted 33rd overall. In VHLE Kyosti was drafted quite low as well, same as Matt, but still bit quicker - Kyosti 73rd, Matt 78th. And finally the VHL, Matt thought, no way he beat him there as Matt went first round, but what did you know, even there...In S80 VHL draft Kyosti was drafted with the overall 7th pick while Matt was picked up with overall 9th pick. Suddenly it wasn't about just proving VHLE that he should have been a better pick, but now he also had a rival that he was not aware of before and the situation was not in favour for Matt as yet again he was being beaten by a small margin as in all the other cases.

1. What is your player doing this offseason? 
- Matt had to do all the arrangements of moving from Mexico to Stockholm and of course kept practicing while still in Mexico and as soon as he got to Stockholm.
2. does your player have any offseason hobbies? if so what are they? 
- Would not call it a hobby, but Matt enjoys going to Movies.
3. Where does your player live during the offseason? 
- When the offseason started Matt lived in Mexico City, then travelled to Stockholm, visited hometown London for a week and then back to Stockholm to prepare for the season.
4. Does your player play any other sports during the offseason? 
- Not really. Had no time for that.
5. What are some goals you have for this season you have coming up? 
- Prove that the late pick was a bad decision by all the ones that could have snatched him earlier.
6. What is your players favourite offseason food to eat? 
- As Matt spent long time away from home he missed Full English Breakfast and got to have it during the offseason when back home.

Not bad, not bad at all. This week I am very happy with the pieces I've seen. I like the design you went for, easy to understand and see what's going on. Colours are okey as well, nothing too fancy, but just the right mix. Im not sure is the player in the picture meant to be the star player of that trade or what, but you could have easily put bot team logo's in the middle instead of the picture, of course that's already nitpicking. Overall good job¬!

The fight for the last playoff spot with the Mexico Kings against Miami.
2. What is your final opinion on the E after playing here for a season?
Did not play, but looking forward this upcoming season!
3. What is one thing you learned about your player this season?
That no matter what you think about yourself, there is always place for errors.
4. If you could change one thing about your players performance in the playoffs, what would it be and why? 
Not sure about what would have been my performance in playoffs, but definitely I felt like Matt lacked scoring in the end of the season.
5. if you do decide to make another player after your current player retires, will you try to skip the E, or will you play here again willingly? 
I dont find no issues with playing in E, at least not yet, so as of now, I would play in E willingly.
6. How are you doing?
Great, waiting for the move to Vikings!

Oh, hell yes! This one is beautiful! Love it! I like the originality of the design and the idea of the signature. Love the double lining which feels like creating a German flag around the player (not sure is the player German or not) and also the grudge feeling of the signature. Text is understandable, although the yellow colour of the name hurts my eyes a bit, feels weirdly bright, but rather than that, awesome job!

1. With the season winding down, do you think we have a chance at playoffs?
- I was hoping till the last game as we were so close, but unfortunately we did not make it.
2. How do you feel about the teams performance this season?
- It started well, then it went somewhere. I dont know what happened, but it could have been better as we did get good wins at the start.
3. Is there anything that you think should have changed or tried during the season? Could be management stuff or team stuff or personal.  
Not from personel and when it comes to other aspects of the game, I did suggest something myself and it was done, but did not change much.
4. Right now we are fighting for a spot with Miami, what team are you surprised to see in a playoff spot?
- To be honest I did not even see who made the playoffs besides Miami as all my focus was on them and us.
5. Do you have a rival in the league (team or player)?
- Not yet, but maybe in the future.
6. Do you like the heat or the cold when going outside?
- I like in-between those two. I like nice chill mornings and I like nice warm evenings. Nothing too cold or too hot.

Ooof, this signature looks like it came straight out of some "Wrong turn" or "Hills have eyes" horror movie. Obviously I think that the dark and scratchy effect is way too much. Like the text tho. With some better effects or maybe just some colour changes, making it simple, the graphic would have been way nicer and better in my opinion.
