    1. How did you find the VHL, whats you favorite part, what is the biggest reason you stayed?
I found the VHL via the Canucks Discussion Forums and I was bored at work one day and decided id give it a shot. I made an account saw how much work it was and then left. Tagger sent me a dm on the forums a couple weeks later asking if he could help and it emailed me. I saw the email came back and he got me learnt. Community was a large part of me staying.

2.What NHL team wins the Stanley cup?(If you dont follow the NHL, then what VHL team wins the cup?)
Canucks obv. In all seriousness one of the Florida teams will most likely take the cup they are just so damn good and can beat anyone any night.

    3. with all the draft hype what team would you like to be drafted by the most(And if already drafted if you could go back in time and pick the team who drafts you who would it be)
I don't really care where I play as a player. I just want to be a good player and RP as a draft pick that surprises and exceeds all expectations.

    1. Where is your player from and do they want to ever play for a city or town close to them?
    2. If you could change one thing in the VHL what would it be?
    3. If you had to roommate with any member in the VHL who would it be and why?

Having resolved threads marked as (CLOSED) and maybe even moving them to a BOG archive sub-forum would be very useful, I had a quick chat about moving closed threads out of the open threads section with Bek and he agreed it would be helpful as well (I think he did at least).

  3. Hello all,

I've noticed that the BOG keeps having discussions but we have had an issue implementing changes, so I thought it might be effective to have a dedicated work flow chart that we can tell when and where we are on a topic. Hopefully this could assist in changes being made and or implemented in a faster manner.

I quickly came up with this

Yes its very rough but I think it would be for the BOG's benefit if we had someone to audit the length of time it would take for something to be approved and implemented. That way things don't get lost or forgotten about and we have a clear line of whos doing what and the time frame that the change is implemented by. Some of the changes don't even have to be implemented by a Commish but someone from the BOG can be chosen to spearhead and or write or simply implement said idea (unless it has to do with the portal or the forum background functions) which would make changes go faster and actually happen.

Let me know if this is dumb or not.

Could even necro this old thread to be more efficient and or linear about changes.

  4. Its so screwed that someone would build all these fake relationships with people and then tear them down and it sucks you had to go through that. I'm not sure why but when I was communicating with them in DM's I got a weird feeling and stopped replying to them and it seems it was a good thing I did.

Im sorry you had to go through all that and hopefully we can spot malicious people like this earlier!

  5. Its not fun to do these articles anymore. I was a much bigger fan of doing the other tasks because it was more condensed and less restricted to time of career etc.

I'm big in favor of going back to how it used to be.

Disagree, I’m completely with @McWolf  on this. I believe I said it elsewhere in here, say Rory and Cow both have a player in the same draft, both at the same TPE level, LA wins the cup and NY wins the lotto. Cow now needs to use 1st overall on his player and Rory gets to use 16th? I fail to see how that’s remotely a fair situation.

id say the law of averages puts the picks more in the middle but I do see your point.

The problem is mostly with teams winning it all and getting their top tier player with the 16th pick, while scrubs like me would have to pay a lottery pick for essentially the same player

Yes but out of all the options this is the most fair imo. Winning is the hardest thing to do and without a GM player its even harder.

That does nothing in this scenario. LA does not own their own 1st, which is why he has to be so brazen about it.

True. So someone will have to draft them and see what happens.

How? GMs can't sign their own players in FA. If you suggest that he trades for them at fair value, he could just do that for either a 1st round pick and take himself or in his first post-draft season, which obviously has precedence.

Someone will sign in FA and then trade them to LA to skirt that.

I hate this. I'd rather go back to GMs trading back to the 16th pick, at least it's fair for everyone

how is this not fair? You don't have to do it but you have the option that way if you have a higher pick than your worth you can always get another pick etc. If your worth more than your pick you get a nice player.

  10. Thoughts:

Tanking draft stock is a scumbag move that makes the league worse for everyone. Spart got away with it last season because he was more hidden about it.

    How to fix:
GMs can spend THEIR OWN 1st to draft themselves for free (that way they cant trade down) and the dominos falls where it lands. Its the only way to make it fair and have everyone happy.
