Well both of us I figure are in the running for it, but you should get MVP man.
Maybe if we made the playoffs, then for sure it would be more of a contest between us.
Cheering for you guys' so good luck next few games!

In total, McAllister has 9 goals and 8 assists in 9 games these playoffs, and if thefinals ended today, he would likely be the leading candidate for Playoff MVP.

Rural Baguio-At the request of his new pupil, Ethan Kapuan, and due to his heritage, Ryuu Crimson has flown in from Saskatoon to show some kids the beautiful sport of hockey. He even brought Ethan Kapuan. "Many people know I am Japanese, but my mom is Filipino. Yes I am half Filipino. Japan is already somewhat aware and good at hockey. But the Philippines, of course because it's a tropical country with no snow and winter, they are barely aware of hockey and there are not much fans. If we managed to pull this off, a new market could open, plus, many opportunities would be opened."
Ryuu Crimson brought equipment for kids and bought them autographed sticks with pucks for everyone. He brought synthetic ice and set up a rink. He, Ethan and a few other kids from Canada played some exhibition games so kids could see what it was like. Slowly, one by one, kids joined and they had 25 kids, not a bad start. Ryuu Crimson gave them gear and he teached them how to skate. After they had mastered skating, which took about 45 minutes, he gave them sticks and pucks and showed them how to stickhandle. He gave them jerseys.

"I think they can do it. Besides, in the 2017 Southeast Asia Games, the Philippines won Gold. This shows that despite hardships, Filipinos can do it."
Crimson coached them and taught them shooting, aiming, checking, and how to exit and enter the bench. He was really impressed at how fast they learned. "They learned everything faster than I expected. Language wasn't much of a barrier, I know a bit of Filipino. Even if they didn't understand me, they did everything correctly. I am so excited to hopefully see some of these kids become Hockey Players and maybe even join the VHL."
For the Goalies, he taught them the same things as everyone else, but Kevin Weekes video chatted Ryuu Crimson which turned into a video coaching session. "They are really lucky, Weekes, he used to be in the NHL and he is really good. He taught them so well. There was this kid who was really small, not the size you would expect a goalie to be. But he played like he was a giant. I tried shooting on him, I tried my best, and either this kid is amazing or I suck but he saved every shot."

After learning they had a little scrimmage, separating the kids into two teams. They had a proper 60 minutes game with all the rules. One team ended up winning 3-2 in overtime. Throughout the community all you could hear was cheering. "These aren't city kids. But with hockey they were still able to do a lot."

"Experiences like this is why I want to be a coach when I retire. Coaching younger generations feels amazing."

Yeah, I think the extra step is one of the top complaints -- having to submit your updates and then go back to apply your TPE, rather than doing it all in one and THEN waiting for it all to be approved. The easiest thing I can do to help this is notify people when their updates are approved so that they can go back and apply the TPE, I'm working on that currently.

But I do also have some plans to bypass the approval process, at least for some items. I mean look at welfare - there's actually zero need for that to go through the approval queue or be 'claimed' on the forum at all. It doesn't need to be checked for a word count or anything, and claiming it on the Portal already does all the validation you need before it ever goes to the update queue - it won't allow you to claim it if you already have a PT that week and won't allow you to claim other PT's that week. So realistically it could be a button 'Claim Welfare' that would instantly give you the TPE to apply and absolutely nothing would change. Same with Practice Facility, probably predictions. Possibly job pay too with a little extra work.

Other things could also be insta-improved in time if we were to incorporate other things into the portal, for example if we automated the Fantasy Zone and VHL Lotteries, TPE earned from those could be added directly to players without even requiring them to be submitted manually let alone waiting for approval.

So that's all stuff I'm considering to streamline the process

Two big games tomorrow people. First off, we have Helsinki hosting Davos. Its been a pretty good series so far with HC digging deep and coming back to tie it all up pushing it to a seventh game. My money is still on Helsinki, what with home ice advantage and I still feel a better all around club.

The Titans also hold a slight edge in scoring with 23 goals vs 19 by HC. I think the deciding factor will be goaltending. Here Markus King has a gvg. of 2.50 with a sv% of .916 as compared to Shawn Brodeur with a 3.47 gvg. and an unspectacular .887 sv%.

You have to give a lot of credit to HC for fighting back when the Titans were up three games to one. Its not easy to crawl back up outta that hole against a talented Helsinki. This final game can go either way so flip a coin. Actually, I'd like to see HC pull this one off.

Game two has Calgary with the home ice advantage but with how NY has performed these past two games, I'm leaning towards the Americans taking this one. Maybe I'm biased as I play for the club but the odds seem in favour of NY.

Arkander is playing solid for the team sporting a 2.09 gvg and .927 sv%. On the other side, Stopko holds a 2.80 gvg with a .912 sv%. So in that aspect the Americans have the upper hand.

Now where NY has a big advantage over Calgary is in their ability to light up the score board. NY has managed to pot 32 markers in comparison to the Wranglers 17. Calgary's depth players have amped up their game for a more balanced team attack. On the other hand though, the Americans are now pretty much firing on all cylinders, receiving offense from every line at the right time. Odds lead towards NY on this one.

So my prediction is a repeat of last years playoffs, but I'm hoping for a NY vs HC finals.

    1. Kind of answered this one already but I'd say my goalie who played from S32-36. Had the most fun with him all around for a whole career versus my other players who had ups and downs.
    2. I'm not as long lived as some members on here (Sterling) but I've been around quite a while. My first player was Rauno Pajari who was created for the S24 draft. That would of been in 2011. I had a few dips in activity but until my recent extended hiatus I was active straight from 24 onwards. I'd probably say "active" since I wasn't always going hard for TPE. But I have the career TPE across most of my players of someone who's been through the grinder.
    3. Mentioned above as well, but I'll be sticking with Riga who drafted me way late. Fits the narrative.
    4. I mean I wouldn't mind being able to help the team win a Championship, of course. Individually I feel like I just want Mikka to be more consistent than Rauno was way back when. Rauno never really got to the point per game level or above until his last season. Even though Mikka will be depth, I'd love to just have some consistency to the career.
    5. I don't know. Maybe? I went on a hiatus as most of us "old timers" do because after you've been through 4, 5, 6, 7 players things start to wear. I was only really gone for a full season + some change, and seeing all the changes, some fresh faces, some returning faces and just a healthier league in the time since I've left has been refreshing. But as a former Blue I was kind of involved in some of that stuff too, so I was able to see some of these changes coming in advance/the discussions on them.

Ironside should be in the running for rookie of the year, considering his offensive production on a club that lacked any depth.
Gate had more talent around him  but then the judges probably only look highly at scoring and not enough at all the other factors involved.

I'd be happy to play for your team next year if I so get traded in the off season.

I would wait for the library to expand.
Quick story: back in the mid 90's my buddy and I knew a guy who ran a pawn shop. We were there drinking beer after hours and he brought us to the back of the shop office. This guy had a stand on platform with a big assed helmet, all rigged to some setup. We all tried the helmet on and we were in a vr ocean with sharks, turtles and shit! No bs. It must've been hot because he told us to keep it on the down low.

And years later my best friend and I went to a convention on future PC/gaming products and I saw a similar set up! Both of us tried it running around on the platform shooting vr guys with a vr gun.

Btw, can't beat a 12 pack of beer and pizza playing SNES/Sega NHL 93.

Speaking from my more inside experience on some of that situation. It very much felt to me talking with Kendrick that even if/when we banned Boubabi that he was still not happy, and questioned the competency of the Blue Team. As mentioned Boubabi did slight him several times, but the situation was complicated and was handled by the Blue Team eventually. I perceived Kendrick to be taking slights to that, and he basically raised the question that he couldn't feel safe here because he didn't feel the community rules were being utilized in a way to protect him from that shit.

Much of the Blue Team tried to play neutral arbiter during all of that process, with Boubabi and with Kendrick. But they really just couldn't let some shit go, in both cases honestly. Even after Boubabi was banned in this instance for Kendrick. The very fact that Boubabi had offended him to the degree he did and was not immediately handled with and given chances or had cases argued for etc was enough.

Who's Getting The Cup This Year?
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well another season has just about ended and positions one four and five in the standings have all been locked up by Calgary, NY and Quebec.

The Titans and Dynamo both have a game in hand but Helsinki has a one point lead. This could factor in a second place finish for the club if they pull a win their last game, regardless if HC wins or loses. But Helsinki needs the win for second spot.

I see the Meute as the underdog here. They have a good core of young players from last seasons draft, but they're still raw so it'll be a season or two before they are more competitive.

NY is a dark horse. The club is either going to play like they did early in the season or come on strong as they have these past fifteen games. They have the talent but can they keep it all together for the playoffs?

HC is pretty even with the Americans in play but they have a little bit more offense, where as NY has a tighter back end. ( No pun intended). It'll be interesting to see how both clubs fare.

Right now Helsinki is the highest scoring team in the league. But they are also the worst defensive club making the playoffs next to Quebec.
I think though with their offense the Titans have a really good chance to make the finals.

Calgary has wrangled itself to the top of the pile with a solid blend of both offense and defense. The only thing is though is that the club pretty much heavily relies on one line to do the scoring. So if other teams can shut down their top line, Calgary may be in trouble.

I have no idea who will make it to the finals. Do I see a repeat of last year? Its possible but any of the clubs have enough talent to win it all.

Expansion is being discussed given the large increase in recruiting we've had the past couple of seasons. The latest poll shows Halifax and Denver as the leading expansion destinations, with discussions of Oslo relocating to one of these cities. I guess Halifax is good, but my only problem with Denver (and it's a minor one) is that I think it would be a nice touch for the VHLM to be filled with locations that seem like they would be a minor league team, such as Des Moines, Baltimore, Scottsdale, Houston, etc. Just a small touch of realism. Part of the reason we're expanding is due to the current teams being filled. I wonder if another solution for the future would be to have a completely bot filled team that we can use for temporary space for new members. Leave the team filled with computer players every year, but open the team up if the rest of the league gets filled. Could be filled by new members and transfers from other teams of new members who went inactive. This way, those members have a place to play if they come back and it opens up spots for active members. When this team is filled with bots, it'd also be a good way for players to pad their stat totals.

Exlaxchronicles reacted to CowboyinAmerica in A New Personal TPE Leader
Minnesota -- Thanks to a well-timed VHL Birthday giveaway, Gabriel McAllister has broken another record. This one, though, is for his agency - McAllister's 1316 TPE, once the latest updates are in, is the most for any player in his agency's history. Even with two seasons left, he has surpassed Hall of Fame goalie Hans Wingate, who finished with 1301 TPE in his eight seasons.

Of course, a large portion of being able to rocket up the TPE leaderboards so quick is the new update scale: Wingate lived in a time when 9 TPE was the weekly maximum, while it has been 12 (or at least, given bonus TPE to equal 12) for the entirety of McAllister's career. Still, McAllister still needed to actually put in the work to take advantage of the different update scale, and he feels like all his time in the gym has really paid off.

"I thought there might be some burn out part of the way through my career, but I've surprised myself in how effortless it's been to train," McAllister recently told reporters after being told about the accomplishment. "Even this far into my career, I feel like there's no signs of slowing down."

The all-time TPE record is 1561 by Hall of Famer Lord Karnage, who had his own boosts through taking advantage of the VHL's recruitment system and graphics design payouts at the time. With two seasons left, McAllister would need to total about 100 TPE per season to get there, a figure he feels he can hit easily. It could very well finish as yet another accomplishment in what is going down as a great career for the current Davos forward.
