    Hello

Oh yeah I'm still kicking. We knew you as the DDOS guy and someone who thought his player was the ultimate sim legend (he wasn't) but time heals some things and we aren't upset at all!
  2. Easy youngster, some of us veterans will make you hold our jocks next season
  3. Ironically I know a guy named Trent Gibson
  4. Good job Malmo boys! Thanks for a great series Riga
  5. I have too many friends on Riga to let them win easily
  6. Years after Lewis Dawson's career has finished, he probably will look back on this time and think "These were the prime years of my career". However, it isn't years after his career and he is currently in the prime years of it. Being a veteran member of the Malmo Nighthawks has its perks. Lewis currently gets to share a locker room with an all-star calibre cast. The lockerroom is full of veterans, sophomores and rookies. Dawson has eclipsed the 300 point plateau in only his fourth season in the Victory Hockey League. Being a veteran is quite the badge of honour in a league like ours. You get to help the youngsters succeed at every turn and also pave your own path through a competitive league. In Malmo we are graced with a General Manager who looks after us and looks to actively see us improve and gain every advantage we can. Bringing in players that fit our lineup and help our chemistry is one of the added bonuses to having a competent General Manager. With many player agents who have been there before, behind our players; we have a distinct advantage. The one thing Dawson feels is his responsibly is to ensure his teammates and himself all stick to their diets and sleeping patterns. Having a few successful personal season is one thing, but Dawson feels if this team is to win a championship it will come by sticking to our schedules and patterns. Basing your success on personal achievements is rather shallow and selfish. Dawson has relied on focusing on the team aspect. A personal trophy is earned by him and his teammates, not just himself. However, a team trophy is earned by the entire organization and their ability to bring out the best one each other. Dawson feels as a veteran one of the biggest things you can offer a younger player is experience and what to do in different situations. Experience is gained by time and situations, not by being gifted it by god given talent or by the grace of god. This Malmo team relies on it's veterans and relies their know-how in all situations. Malmo is hoping the veteran like Dawson can provide some stability for their youngsters and eclipse the ultimate goal of lifting a cup above their head. With the league expanding, veteran will become more and more valuable because the talent is spread out around the league. Lewis Dawson takes pride in his achievements and his role of being a veteran.
  7. The only neighbourhood troll we've kept around
  8. Well I'm not even sure I have his current username correctly but @eaglesfan0366if you are out there, please come correct it. Some know him as Austin, Austy, Gow Jr., Jim's brother or even Wentz'Knee. He cheers for the Philadelphia Eagles (hence the name) so we have to take it easy on him because they aren't doing so well right now. However, his impact in this league has been fantastic. He has been a VHLM Commissioner, A VHL General Manager, a VHLM General Manager and at one point he might have been with the recruitment team but I forget (I have old man memory). If you came to our league 2-3 years ago (in real life time) you probably saw him welcome you. He was for a long time the first person to welcome new members and he showed a lot of them the ropes. He is quite funny at times and other times he is Jim's little brother. He uses chat like it's going out of style, so beware of a message from him every 2 days or so. Like I said though, he has created some very good role players for teams and has been a steady hand in the brotherhood of Gow. Remember that if you don't know how his last name is said out loud, it's best to ask him several times a day. Send him a PM, chat him up or even get his phone number and text him the question. Everyone raise a glass of their finest Dock Street Pilsner!
  9. I am. I'll do it for this week!
  10. You scare me for a second but then I am comforted by your gentle touch
  11. DOWN WITH BROOKS! Remove him from power immediately
  12. Recently @brooks. came back to pop in and say hello. For those who don't know who Brooks is, he was the one who essentially started the VHL and created this thing from the ground up. His vision has been going on for almost a triple digit season number which is easily the most successful simulation league in existence. This site has lasted over time because of many members but the start came from Kevin Brooks. Many simulation leagues have tried to go up against the VHL and have failed. Many of Zach Manships failed attempts attempted at the same time as the early VHL and came up drastically short. The thing is, Kevin Brooks knew what he was doing and he put people in power at the start that helped his cause. The league was founded with eight teams filled with General Managers who has previous experience in a now-defunct version of the VHL. So Kevin Brooks is the OG and someone who paved the way for what this league is right now. Without Brooks we would've been stuck with Scotty Campbell and his ego which may not have handled everything around this league (see the @Beketov unfair suspension for one) the right way. So everyone raise a glass of their finest Steamwhistle Pilsner to Kevin Brooks!
  13. Hello old friend! Some of us are still kicking around here. Hope you are well and would love for you to stick around!
  14. Thanks man! I do agree with some comments about the render being too small though, so that's something to improve on
  15. I often wonder what the league would be like without hedgehog in it. Not because I want him to not be here, but because he actually has a resume that has quietly been very very impressive. I don't think he gets the appreciation he deserves for the success he has had as a General Manager. I was fortunate to play on his franchise for many many years and won cups because of that. @hedgehog337has created some very impactful players for his franchise in Riga. When I was coming up short with people to write about I totally forgot about the General Manager I was able to play for for many years. Markus King wouldn't have had the career he did if it wasn't for the savvy dealings of hedgehog. Not to mention his ability to get the most out of his players and help them buy into the system. Hedgehog has made a killing off trades that many feel were average. I would play on his team again and I would recommend it to any new members to help gain their footing in this league. I think everyone should raise a glass of their finest Malduguns to this chap!
  16. Baby you're worth two nowadays
  17. Oh the things we could say about our resident teddy bear. Terrance is a gem and his positive talk and mindset are just two of the things we appreciate about him being in our league. Fong will be on chat when you need him and he has a lot of wisdom to share about restaurants if you are ever stuck for places to take your family for dinner. Terrance has visited the west coast many times and I haven't been able to link up, but would love to catch up for a drink. Fong knows all the places to go in Alberta for some grub and I have actually been to about three places he suggested in the past when I visit Cowtown. Not only this, but in relation to our league he has built some absolute gems of players. Fong studies the STHS a little bit and builds players with intention of helping their squads out. I've been on many teams with @tfong and its always fun times. I'm currently able to share a roster with his current player and it is exactly as advertised, he's a great person and one I'm proud to have met. Everyone raise their caps and their panties to this guy!
