  1. 1. I think some more depth on our blue lines. Might as well load up for a run! 2. Yes I did and I got both right for this week already, its so fun! 3. I would make the Regina Corntoppers and they would have a logo of a scarecrow with a sharpened piece of corn as a weapon 4. Nope! The locals are very nice and everyone has warmed up to the fact there is a hockey team down here 5. If I could, 20. But realistically 8 seasons (I think that's the most) 6. Yes all the time. I have to remind myself that I am a firework though! 7. No on the Pro Bowl (its so lame now)
  2. 1. It was good, because where I'm from its snowing and I was freezing my ass off 2. No I think I got the gist of what I'm supposed to do to maximize what I need 3. It's 12 I think. Its different from uncapped because it creates parity 4. I love watching downhill skiing of any kind. Its so thrilling! 5. I plan on building a certain build so I have a few spots ready when I am updating my player. Scorer baby! 6. Its nice until I hear barking dogs in the streets down here in Mexico City. So many strays!
  3. Well everyone Calen McKay has arrived down in Mexico City to play in the VHLM and the one thing he lacks is a cup, but he does have two BBQ grills which is perfect to invite his new teammates over for a good ol fashioned BBQ. Truth is I just wanted to use that title for this VHL Article and that's why I wrote it. That being said if someone does show up at this VHL BBQ please bring some red solo cups as we have tons of drinks but people are getting bottle service; literally they are being serviced directly from the bottle. McKay doesn't get paid a lot to play in the minors so he didn't have leftover money to spend on cups or even bowls to drink from. I'm sure someone on this forum or league has access to a Costco gold card or even could stop by a Walgreens on their way to the residence. McCay is hoping one day he can drink from a real VHL related cup but again, at this rate he won't be hydrated enough to get to that stage. By the way, does anyone know where to find blow up dolls shipped like Phil Kessel? One of the girls here (Amanda or something) has a fixing for some Kessel and I told her she could go visit him if she just went through the border to Arizona. What the hell has this VHL Fan Article turned into by the way?
  4. Review: 12 years too long to be honest, you're graphics are as good as they always were; which is really good. Personally feel the blending and patterns that are blurred in the back are ungodly. Great work! I love the render choice as its an angle we don't traditionally see in signatures from what I've seen. Text work reminds me of a thriller movie trailer trying to sell me on the fact it's coming to theatres May 13th or something. Great vibe and the definition in Ehlers face without it being over saturated/grainy is perfect. Overall, would love for you to at least post a graphic once ever year or even 2 years, instead of every 12 years.
  5. Slobo's kid is old enough but probably not interested. I will say this, Slobo and I communicate almost every week and his kid is a fucking all-star, no joke.
  6. Who manages the Instagram account? I got a few suggestions to help boost the profile a bit with simple habits
  7. I was recently asked why I came back to the VHL. It didn't sound like a question laced with negative tones but more so a question that legit was wondering what got me back. Well first off, because I will always be a Hockey fan so it's the sport that primarily got me back. Second off, I've been in this league since day one and though life can throw curveballs at you and you have to take those pitches head on, some things for enjoyment never really leave. For example writing stories and news articles about a fictitious hockey player isn't really that boring, nor is it nerdy. It's no different than authors writing stories about vampires and teen conspiracy theories about werewolves. I simply gave a lot to this league and the fact it's still around is an ode too many members for keeping it going through some of the dark years and battles. Plus making a Be-A-Pro in NHL 2022 can sometimes respire that energy you need to pour into making a VHL player. I genuinely enjoy this place and the people who are in it. But also looking back and seeing number retirements and HOF members who have come back brings me hope that its something passed on for generations. At this stage someone here has to have a kid that's 15 years old on the site? Do we have a second generation member yet?
  8. Thank you sir! Hope you're well
  9. Review: Love that you attempted a jersey swap here. I would've liked to see more of a clean lined swap as there are bits coming off and at first I thought it was the effects but it turns out it just is cut averagely. I would suggest using the pen tool and just making sure the tiny little points are gone. Love that you put the logo in there and made sure it fit in properly with the right size and angle. Maybe match the colour of gold/yellow?
  10. 1. A new team and new chance to prove myself to a new audience! 2. I'm hoping to learn more about proper puck possession and the ability to contain the game between the blue lines 3. The Mexico City Kings, why? Because if you don't have belief in yourself you won't go anywhere but south. 4. I own 57 Pop Funko's 5. I want them to know that I have many leather-bound books and sometimes go out with Merlin Olsen. 6. Dolphins because they are the smartest thing outside of humans, and sometimes humans prove that dolphins are indeed smarter.
  11. I love @Doomsdaybecause he gave all the shit talk back to me and fueled the rivalry more. We had some good times!
  12. Calen McKay Position: Center Height: 6'4" Weight: 203 lbs Born in Sweden, Calen McKay came over to the CHL two years ago at the age of 16 in the CHL Import Draft. He was selected by the Drummondville Voltigeurs and would start his first game with the team when he was only 16 years old. The advantage of coming over young is that he would become accustomed to the North American ice a lot faster if he was over in North America instead of learning on the big ice and only coming over in the professional ranks. Calen had a very productive career in the QMJHL, where he was able to put up a point per game. McKay's first season in the QMJHL he put up 34 points in 32 games played with Drummondville. His best game was a 5 point performance against the Quebec Remparts. His second season saw him produce 61 points in 63 games for the Voltigeurs before ultimately having to shut down because of Covid-19. McKay was leaned on heavily down the stretch because of his ability to stay healthy and his durable frame helped him stave off any big impactful injuries. McKay is relatively fresh and young in his development still so the ceiling on him could be much higher than what we've seen. That being said, he does have some weaknesses that opponents were able to capitalize on. His long frame does make for some interesting lapses in the neutral zone as he isn't the most fleet of foot. Smaller, more agile players have used their skill and quickness to get around and limit his ability. McKay will use his size in the corners and along the boards to impose his will though. His greatest strength is his strength in itself because of the ability it allows him to control the puck and contain possession from his opponents. McKay did look like a men amongst boys on the ice but given his lateral capabilities he does need to work on his movement and agility. McKay's junior career was largely a success in the eyes of scouts as he was able to showcase his ability to perform but also like with every young player, they see things that professional coaches can work on. Basing his QMJHL career on his stats alone, McKay projects as a top six forward on a team looking to roll with a big centre that can consistently put up top tier second line numbers. Calen is not a franchise centre and not someone to solely build your prospects pool around. He does possess some very unique qualities and he showed that in junior.
  13. Review: From what I can tell it's a pretty well swapped graphic. Unless it's a Team Canada jersey (which I'm 99% it isn't). Love the sharpness of the jersey swap and the ability you have of not overlapping previous colour. I'm pretty sure you used a color/hue adjustment layer on this so that part makes it a tad easier to swap. Great work, love that you enhanced the shoulder numbers. 7/10
  14. Although I haven't officially been on hiatus for a while, I figured I would jump back into the game. My last player started with promise but my activity tailed off and so did my players as a result. Hope everyone here is in good health and thriving, especially since this new year seems to be bringing some extra punch in regards to COVID. I know first hand what it is to have COVID as I recovered from it just last week. Double Vaccinated and was looking to go into 2022 with some new optimism and health, but turns out Omicron had its own plans that I wasn't aware of. Anyways its good to be back here and looking to do some damage with my new player Calen McKay. It's been so long since I've been able to talk "shop" with you boys and girls that I was missing it a little. Don't hesitate to chat me up if you see me on Discord. Anyone new around here that I should know about? Anyone I should stay away from because they smell bad? Any new blue team members or management people I should kiss ass to?
  15. 1. Our scoring! The depth no this team in incredible and it shows with a sweep. 2. About what I expected as a rookie coming into his first game play in the playoffs. 3. Score more goals and allow less at our own end, that's the meat and potatoes answer. 4. I would choose Pastrnak because of his unreal ability to find the right open spot for shots 5. Football hands down. I think because of how quick the plays are 6. Easy, I get rid of Chicken. It's the least satisfying taste and you can have both the others in a sandwich without having to put sauce on
  16. 1. It was very low key but it was very nice, went to friends house and him and his wife and I all relaxed 2. I think we have a good roster so I see us going all the way with our depth 3. We won't get swept but we won't sweep. Its hard to sweep in the postseason 4. I just want to support the team and not be a liability. I would love to win all my draws 5. Be patient in your reactions, but quick in your approach. Think before the other team does 6. Dogs. They are mans best friend. However I do love Elephants
  17. 1. Christmas low-key, but it was good! 2. I would rate them very high, he seems like he has a legit chance at taking home extra hardware this season. 3. When you have someone back there that will make up for your defensive mistakes, it does make it a bit easier to perform under pressure. 4. I'm new to the team so replacing anyone with me might have been the best decisions but that's just my opinion. 5. To score more goals and to realize my potential and go after it! 6. To only drink water and live a healthier life in general. We only get one body, gotta treat it right.
  18. Hello sir! Tagger...is that also a name that came after another name? I'd love to join Las Vegas! #McKayIsAllIn
