  1. Just thought you should all know I was 19 when I joined the VHL, I am 31 now. Im old as hell
  2. Beketov and I go way back because we both have been here since the first season. Sharpe (as many of us know him by) has been improving this league from the beginning. He got off on a wrong note in the league as he was the first overall pick but alsowas suspended for the first season. Although many of us (myself included) feel the punishment was harsh and somewhat administered by a pretty biased member named Scotty, Sharpe stuck around and that nobody Scotty Campbell no longer is here. Beketov has been playing the role of Commissioner in this league for quite a while. That's not the only role he has played, he has worn many hats like many of the other members I have written about. @Beketov has had some great players and some average players (who hasn't) but he consistently is focused on improving this league in whatever capacity he is in. I feel like this league has great leadership. I have clashed with him as well, but I think one thing is for sure; we both care a lot about this league surviving and continuing that somewhat we battle it out with words to come up with resolutions and peaceful conclusions. If you need a question answered just give Sharpey a call and he will most likely point you in the right direction.
  3. Jason is one of the few members on the board who have stuck with a team even when they sucked big time. Glasser's ability to bring out the best in members and players is why he is a VHL favourite. His success and longevity speaks to the character he is. He is a hard working blue collar type guy and he expects the same out of his players. over my time in the VHL @diamond_ace held many titles and he was always counted on by the blue team to come up when they needed him. His years of service in the league and with high roles has resulted in quite the inflated trophy case as well. However, knowing Jason any milestones or awards he gets he is probably too humble to mention them. His great personality and hard working attitude are what he brings to this league. I have learned a lot of things from him and he always had Calgary in a position that was solid (some times he was a little quiet) but for the most part he brought the flame. Thanks for being who you are and bringing us a great member in yourself Jason!
  4. Thank you for trusting me with that title. Glad to lead this team in some capacity and hopefully this is a sign of a great fresh start!
  5. If this is the same Turner, I don't think this counts
  6. So one of the members who I haven't ever felt give someone an unfair chance is @Devise. Ryan has always been someone who plays it straight and allows people their chance to talk, their chance to vent and their chance to represent themselves equally and the way they choose. His dedication to the league can't go unnoticed either. He has worn many different hats and has been dedicated and responsible in each role. He has been a successful General Manager (albeit one who discards with draft picks a lot) and a successful player builder at times. Ryan has created some great players that fit a role on teams and he'll be the first to tell you that he hasn't always created superstars, but players that find a job to do on the teams he has managed and played for. I remember he had one of the most successful podcasts in history that took on many names over the years. I'd wager money that he had more guests on his show than any other member not named @Advantage or @Jericho. Time to recognize his efforts in making this site one that we all enjoy and the sport of hockey something we all follow more closely.
  7. Oh dude, this might be one of my favourite sigs ever made for me. Love the vibrant colour!
  8. *I promise to write one every week about someone. Phil and I have a VHL relationship like no other that I have on here. Phil has always been a calming influence in the lorckerrooms that he and I have shared. His wisdom, enthusiasm and ability to let things bounce off him are impressive. If you've shared a lockerrom with him you'll understand why he was someone up for many of the now defunct Top Leader trophies in the past. Even though his brother hasn't come around since Lebron was in high school (or so it seems), Phill has stuck with us and helped make this place as great as it is now. Phil has built many great players and has won many awards that he so rightfully deserves. Even after he gave me the $20 to write thi....oops. Sorry I went off-topic there. Phil seems to be unphased by drama too. When something happens around the forum he tends to put his two cents in and then excuse himself from the room without getting caught up in it. His demeanour and personality allow him to be a crowd favourite and he is definitely one of the founding fathers of our great league. @Phil
  9. Im here for a Quik TPE bump

  11. Dear 701, You and I had our battles. You were a Vikings fan and I am a Packers fan. I remember when you once told me Christian Ponder would one day be better than Aaron Rodgers, I'll never let you forget that he didn't. I learned a lot about graphics from you. Your graphics inspired me, your competitive edge pushed me to be a better member and better graphics guy just like Boubabi and Jackim have. Your talent was one of the top ones in the sim league world. I can't say I had a ton of conversations with you about anything other than NFC North football. I know we both agreed that the Bears Still Suck and the Lions are the doormat of the division. I'll miss your outspoken personality and your ability to get a slight jab into people (including me) without it being personal. You created some amazing players and even though you stated you weren't a "hockey guy", you knew a lot more than you let on. Thank you for being here and thank you for making this place the place it has been and forever will be. So long brother, may you change fonts up in the clouds now. Rest easy Joey

  14. Lewis Dawson has been in isolation for the past 2 weeks so he decided to get adventurous and buy a Tiger. Although he didn't go to Carol Baskin (because she's as shady as the broad side of a barn) he also didn't go to Joe Exotic because he can't. Dawson has watched the entire series and wants to know if anyone in the VHL wants to start a Big Cat Rescue Ranch with him and be sane at the same time. Each employee would be vetted properly and wouldn't have a drug history or amputated legs (although that guy was the most trustworthy in the entire docu-series). No trips to Florida, no multiple husbands, no shooting former lovers or hiring ex-cons with no money. It's time to get down to business and make a little side side cash for your families outside of your hockey career. Lions, Tigers and even some Bears to spruce up the place after a couple years would work.
