  2. If the playoffs were set to began today, the Toronto Legion would face off against the Seattle Bears in the first best of seven post-season round. In a way... it would be rather poetic that these two teams would meet each other, after an ongoing three season battle where the Legion have charged in and dealt blows much to the anger of Seattle GM Campbell. While their record against Seattle isn't as good against the Bears this season, the Legion have gone 8-9-3 against the Seattle club thus far. Now their record against the Bears is 1-3-0 this season, but GM Peace is confident they'd steal a few playoff games away from Seattle. "We might not win a series," Erik Killinger stated. "But I think we'd keep the series closer than some would expect." In the four games they've played against each other, Seattle leads Toronto 14-8 in goals, but the shots dispersion that tells the story: Hextall is busy, very busy, facing a blistering fifty two additional shots while keeping the games relatively close. Toronto's recent acquisition of Elmebeck should help tighten the shot differential, so it'll certainly be exciting to see how these to clubs face against each other now that playoff implications are slowly becoming a reality for the rebuilding Legion. At the moment Toronto would likely fall in five or six games, but the experience Legion players would receive would give them opportunities to cement themselves as a contender further down the road, perhaps even land on some free agents radar as a viable team in the next off-season. S70: 4-2-2 S71: 3-4-1 S72: 1-3-0
  3. Doesn’t look like we missed anything intelligent, Toronto.

  5. TORONTO, ONTARIO -- The Toronto Legion were essentially a third wheel in the trade between the New York Americans and the Vancouver Wolves, both North American rivals, with the Legion being added to act as a salary dump so the two teams could complete their trade. GM Peace said the move was a pretty easy decision, it only cost the club two forth round picks and significantly improved the defensive depth of their roster. Elmebeck will be replacing Dissanayake on the back end, who's on the cusp of being surpassed by both Gutzwiler siblings, thus effectively removing him from the 6F-4D-1G depth chart the team uses. The addition of Elmebeck will strengthen the Legions' first defensive pairing by nearly one and a half times the talent, where he'll join alternate captain Erik Killinger and should be more capable of withstanding the sheer workload formerly expected out of Dissanayake. Elmebeck has seventeen points in twenty seven games, two with the Legion so far, and registered a goal in his first game with the club playing as a forward while Toronto adjusted their lines for the next set of games; New York resigned Elmebeck to a one season contract during the off-season, and retains a small chunk of his salary that enabled Toronto to acquire the defender. While fourth round draft picks could be useful in a deep VHL Entry Draft -- for example Toronto's previous draft pick Ziarie Anigbogu selected in the forth round -- the occasion a fourth round selection making the VHL has been seemingly rare. By that point most drafts are empty, and the players that remain have fallen away from the Victory Hockey League for other avenues. Sometimes teams will even skip a pick, wasting a fourth round pick entirely, although this is more common in the VHLM who have seven rounds in their dispersal draft. Toronto is expected to play a more defensive game with the addition of Elmebeck, who's talents only lag behind Killinger slightly, although Killinger focuses more on defensive play while chaining his learned offensive skills as a forward into his style. Elmebeck is a slightly better puck handler, who's stronger on and off the puck, but lacks the refined defensive effort his partner has... although it should be noted this isn't a fault, it's a strength for the Toronto Legion... one they're happy about receiving. Additionally, offense generated from the blue line should increase, as both defenders are categorically considered offensive defenders by VHL standards. Scouts rate Elmebeck's scoring ability around eighty five while rating his passing around seventy five. Compared to scout reports of Killinger, he only trails behind on scoring by six and passing by five (85 v 91, 75 v 80). Regardless of the ratings, the information revealed should indicate more scoring opportunities for forwards trying to collect on a rebound, as both of these gentlemen will shoot the puck from the blue line to generate some offensive opportunities. The Legion will likely opt to extend his contract in the upcoming off-season, considering he's now a core member of the Toronto Legion, and will effortlessly grant time for a potential prospect to develop within the pipelines. By the time Elmebeck begins regressing, the Gutzwiler siblings continued developed should pick up some of the slack left from regression, while that potential prospect continues to develop as a suitable replacement as the twilight years fade away. On a more somber note... I miss you, Elmebeck. I told you back in Saskatoon we'd play together on the same team, I'm glad I had this opportunity even though you're gone. I hope you've found peace.
  6. I appreciate you keeping up on the press conference questions, Shaka! 1. I think we're handling it exceptionally well. We all knew being at the top was an untenable position, heck we're aware that the current position we're in in the standings might be too difficult to maintain as the season progresses, but if we can make the playoffs that would be amazing -- a reason I recently pulled a trigger on a three-way trade to add Fredrik Elmebeck to our defensive core. (Rest in peace, Elmebeck!) 2. I think it's been claimed 'Jaxx Hextall is a stud' numerous times, and we all agree. 3. They've certainly helped balance out our roster, but this is actually Teemu Lehtinen's second season with Toronto and I'm amped up that they're both on pace for career years with our hockey team. 4. I think Magnum summed up his leadership style accurately above. He's not a huge presence in the locker room, but he's a reliable earner and wants the Legion to win a championship, so he's trying to lead by example and we're building off of it. 5. Well Killinger has been pretty solid in my honest opinion... gotta plug myself, 'ya know! The Gutzwiler's making the move to D certainly contributed to Toronto's early rise to atop the VHL standings earlier this season, without them I doubt we would have achieved that at all. 6. Honestly? My expectations haven't really changed, but I'm subtly trying to improve the team as we go along. I believe we have a shot at the post-season now, hence why I didn't really hesitate to add Elmebeck to the roster... among other reasons.
  7. TORONTO, ONTARIO -- Erik Killinger never reported to practice yesterday morning, instead they found a 'gone fishing' sign handing from his stall, thus prompting the team to use a tourist cardboard cutout of the Legion defender during practice... and unfortunately that extended into the two scheduled games the Toronto hockey team had against Seattle and Helsinki later that evening. Fans were lit with disappointment with the cardboard cutout, saying that he was literally worse than a pylon, and certainly preferred the real flesh and blood defender they were starting to get used to. "We have to punish him [Killinger] to the highest extend of our abilities," GM Peace said in a statement. "He didn't catch anything on a recently restocked lake with no one around, so we're confiscating his fucking fishing gear and issuing -- or rather engaging -- our thirty day embarrassment clause in his contract! He has to wear his silly fishing gear for those thirty days, and pose with the press to admit his failures as a catch and release fishermen." "Utterly disappointing." The cardboard cutout registered an assist against Seattle.
  8. Even though we've reached the goal, let this run for a little while longer. Can't right now, but will be able to help out this approaching weekend.
  9. TORONTO, ONTARIO -- Let's not get carried away, alright? Toronto is enjoying their position as the Victory Hockey League's top team, but the sheer reality of the situation is simple: There is a lot of the season left, and their explosive start will be contained by other teams fairly soon. A huge part of their success right now -- not to take away from anyone else -- has been the extraordinary play of Jaxx Hextall between the pipes. Hextall leads the league with an impressive .940 save percentage, while also facing just shy of one hundred additional shots than the second leading goaltender on the list with the same amount of ice time and shots against: Lafontaine from Calgary has a .932 save percentage and has faced 99 less shots than Toronto's reigning all-star goaltender. Now we do acknowledge that Bernard has a .939 save percentage as well, but he's only played twelve games and the comparison would require averages that I am way to lazy to do. Not only has Toronto's starting goaltender been absolutely lights out, but the entire team has come around and started producing after a rather disappointing season yester-year. Chad Magnum is on pace to finish the season with 66 points, a major improvement over his forty five from season seventy one; new comer Anthony Matthews has anchored the second offensive line well, and will be soaring into a career finish; Erik Killinger's move to D has benefited the team, and he seems to be on pace for a career season himself; and finally Teemu Lehtinen Jr has paired nicely with Matthews, and is on pace for a career season too! If there was one thing GM Peace could improve, it would be the top defensive pairing and giving Magnum another capable winger to increase the threat of the first offensive line. The season is early... but Toronto is enjoying this moment for now.
  10. 1. Now that we're 8-4-2... I'm absolutely thrilled the Legion are doing amazing right now. 2. I think our strength lies in effort. A lot of teams seem to be underestimating us, but a team of 'no super stars' keeps beating teams full of them. 3. Personally I still think defense. We have three forwards that swapped for us, but our overall TPE earn rate at D is a bit shallow. 4. Preferably... playoffs! 5. I support them! 6. I'm enjoying the increased activity. Always been my goal to build around active players, so little by little that is becoming a reality.
  11. So Victor wanted the DAV - TOR trade reversed, while a good chunk of people thought Davos won the trade by quite a bit. ?
  12. Can someone explain the idiocy of the tree stars?
  13. I Mute Anyone Who Talks like This Exx-D lol Going onto the general chat lately is more annoying than it is beneficial, my eyes feel like they’re burning up trying to search for a composed sentence... again just lately.

  17. Here is the Legions' leadership group -- captain and his alternates -- for the upcoming season seventy two campaign! C - Chad Magnum A - Erik Killinger A - Jaxx Hextall Sadly STHS will not allow Hextall to be listed as part of our leadership group, so Kristopher McDagg will serve as the alternate captain within the sim engine itself. Let's get it done! WE ARE LEGION.
  18. Absolutely! You see he is above the blank line you cropped out.
  19. Watch out, Killinger's arrived on the scene when all you old guys are loosing the legs underneath of 'ya!
