    So...V2 huh?

Which kinda supports SHL and their claim sadly.

    So...V2 huh?

Actually I'm testing this out. Both if my 90 PA players have 10+ assists and 0 goals. My forward lines are supposed to be.. SNP - PLY - SNP SNP - PLY - SNP Turned out similar so far. Defensive pairings are are just whatever.

  4. I promise you this, had I known you were active, I absolutely would have reached out to you.
  5. That would be my bad, I had no idea Sixersfan was even active, he was with Toronto in the past and never logged into the website. I just put in the inactive claim on his player since the portal claimed he wasn't present mainly so our roster was a little more complete heading into S72. I don't want to hold anyone on my team that doesn't want to be here, so I'm willing to reverse this claim if it's possible, we'd just have to talk to the commissioners.
  6. Toronto does actually use draft picks under GM Peace. S70 - 10th OVR - (RW) Justin Graves Justin Graves was my first ever pick -- and up until he instantly disappeared right after the draft -- he was a solid earner and considered one of Toronto's top prospects alongside Chad Magnum and Jaxx Hextall. If Graves had panned out, Toronto would have a 600 TPA (or close) right winger alongside what would have been a Killinger - Magnum - Graves line. That would have solidified Toronto's top forwards, leaving just a positional need at D. Sadly things don't always turn out for the positive. Graves informed everyone that he had a newborn baby and needed some time before he returned to activity, unfortunately that never happened and he ended up removing himself from the VHL entirely. I do hope he and his family are okay, it's always troublesome when someone disappears like that after mentioning the birth of their kid; mind slips into dark places. S70 - 22nd OVR - (D) Aleksandra Olsen GlowyGoat never leaves the VHLM, and I suppose I really did learn that the hard way; chalk that up as a rookie GM move. There's really not much to be said about this pick, Olsen retired at just a mere 130 TPE in a league where the cap was now 250. I'd like to theorize that -- had Olsen stuck around instead of retiring -- she'd be on Toronto's roster in what was a desperately needed position. Instead we had some team players: the Gutzwiler brothers swapped to D for us, and I bit the bullet and moved with Killinger as well. S70 - 23rd OVR - (C) Dick Cheezy Cheezy is still around, and enjoyed the fact we brought aboard the Gutzwiler siblings.. however he's most likely a career VHLM player at this point. His earning rate has steadily dropped the last couple of weeks from welfare+ to just practice facility, which indicates that he's satisfied staying in the minors for as long as he can. Cheezy was drafted with Olsen back to back, so I'm partially surprised Cheezy didn't retire when GlowyGoat hung up Olsen's skates. S71 - 11th OVR - (LW) Erik Killinger (GM Claim) I claimed Killinger with Toronto's lone S71 first round pick; not much needs to be said. S71 - 18th OVR - (RW) Jeff Blaze Jury is still out of Blaze, but all indications point towards him developing into a great depth piece for the Toronto Legion. He's a low but reliable earner, which is giving Toronto some depth foundation as their core develops into the stars they were hoped to be. Like many VHL teams experience, sometimes a core can literally develop their way out of a team, so the mix of high and low earners for Toronto -- and the bountiful cap space they've had -- has allowed the Legion to keep their core pieces without any salary sacrifices yet. S72 - 21st OVR - (RW) Michael Mac Mac and Gainer instantly become Toronto's top prospects, and the future is absolutely shining with these two players in the system; we hope they destroy the VHLM in the upcoming season, and are eagerly awaiting their arrival to Toronto at the start of S73. If consistent earning rates are kept, Michael Mac will join the Toronto Legion around 300 TPA and that's a solid rookie in the VHL. He'll quickly develop into a top six player for Toronto, and shortly replace McDagg as he heads towards depreciation. S72 - 22nd OVR - (LW) Joseph Gainer Gainer and Mac are Toronto's top prospects -- and assuming consistent earn rates comparative to what they have now -- they will absolutely form the foundation of the second line in S74, and that's something that is awesome to have in the system. With the critical lack of quality prospects along the wing, it really isn't a projection to state that these two will make up a portion of the Legions' top six within seasons of them entering the Victory Hockey League after graduating from the minors. By S76, they'll be on the wings next to Magnum. S72 - 27th OVR - (RW) Adam Frence Carry on my wayward, son. There'll be peace when you're done. Lay your weary head to rest. Don't you cry no more. That's for me, not Frence. S72 - 38th OVR - (D) Ziaria Anigbogu I'm hoping Anigbogu joins Toronto sometime in S74 and compliments our current defensive core, and joins his fellow drafted prospects from a season earlier. He's got a steady earn rate, and it's entirely possible Anigbogu could develop into one of the best steals of the late rounds. I'm going to keep my eye out on his development, and predict he'll join the team when Killinger's getting a little more sturdy and the Gutzwiler siblings are forming an inseparable pairing. Future is bright!
  7. DRAFT EDITION! 1. What did you think of Toronto's overall draft? 2. What pieces of advice would you have for Michael Mac, Joseph Gainer and Ziarie Anigbogu? 3. What are your opinions about the trades that were completed during the draft? 4. We also added Anthony Matthews and Vladimir Shaposhnikov to the roster VIA trade. What do you think about their acquisitions? 5. What do you think of Toronto giving up a potential lottery pick in the S74 VHL Entry Draft? 6. Where do you think we'll end up drafting in the S73 VHL Entry Draft? @Anthony Matthews @11 Eleven @Corco @Laflamme @Viperxhawks19 @Sixersfan549 @ng1291 @DaftRaincloud @Gwdjohnson @nethi99 @ROOKIE745 @Kachur @goldenglutes @NyQuil @joeg @JDGraves @LastOneUp @ngine4 ( Also don't forget to claim training camp! Go to your player update page, it's located underneath 'Practice Facility' now. )
  8. Toronto fell off at the end of the season, it was much closer the majority of the season. We were between 4-8 points out of the last spot until NYA finally climbed over us again.
  9. As much as I'd like to be confident in TOR, I'm not sure we do as well as we did last season. Sadly not cashing in on any of the available free agents (and trust me I tried) hurt.

  11. I'm glad to hear that! Welcome aboard.
  12. So the S72 VHL Entry Draft just concluded, and Toronto saw plenty of action as I clawed my way into the second round... and I made one huge mistake, too. Yes - I fully admit it - I made a mistake that I will probably regret for a while, and I bet someone else is laughing his ass off about it. I also think Toronto improved this off-season, and while we may have missed out on all the free agents we were trying to secure, I'm satisfied with how things have turned up. To understand why I trade picks for picks, you have to have an inside knowledge of my philosophy behind building my team. You see -- when I hired an AGM -- I was looking for someone of similar mind to me, but also compellingly different, but that essentially boils down to (in layman terms) similar team building priorities: activity over immediate talent, so trading picks away for kick-ass S66 players just wasn't going to cut it for me. I call my method the reverse Devise (I still trade all my picks away). Where Devise was trading his picks for top tier talent, I'm trading my picks for players who are young and still growing. This allows Toronto to still have plenty of cap space, while growing a young core for a window of competition. Now it can be said I'm talking from my ass, and I might just be, but at least some shit is true. Time for a break down: VAN/TOR TRADE: TOR: S74 TOR 1st and S74 TOR 3rd VAN: S72 RIG 2nd (Michael Mac), S72 VAN 2nd (Joseph Gainer), S73 DCD 2nd and Anthony Matthews Honestly... this trade didn't take long for Beaviss and I to come to an agreement on, but the effort it took to secure the type of assets I acquired is an entirely different story, in fact it goes back well before the playoffs ended. For a while I tried to move into the second round as early as the beginning of the off-season (meaning making a trade as soon as the portal rolled over by agreeing to one while the playoffs were underway). I knew I wanted to be in this draft: it was deep, a lot of impressive players, and Toronto couldn't afford missing out on some home runs. Clearly I wasn't able to find the second round picks I wanted prior to the draft, although some were available at prices I couldn't justify at the time. At one very particular point during the off season my priorities shifted, and I narrowed down my search leading up to the draft. I changed my views from trying to get any pick in the second round to trying to get a mid-to-late second round pick just to draft Joseph Gainer to the Toronto Legion. JoeG sent me a message some time prior to the VHL Entry Draft and expressed his desire to join the Legion, stating that the Toronto Maple Leafs were his favorite team, so I made him a promise I would try to get him onto the roster. During the draft -- much to my surprise -- two of the players I had higher on my list (which was originally written on the 5th VIA Google Docs) were slipping further and further down the draft than I had anticipated. Both Michael Mac and Joseph Gainer were still available, but 21 and 22 were still a few picks away at that point. Beaviss and I had been talking about some trades for a little while before the draft started, so when the picks were coming up, I agreed to a trade on the condition that Helsinki didn't take the player(s) I wanted. They were never selected, so I pulled the trigger with Beaviss. Yes, I gave up a (most likely) lottery first round pick for three second round picks and Anthony Matthews. I am more than excited to have both of these guys on Toronto, and I cannot tell you why they slid. HSK/TOR TRADE: TOR: S73 DCD 2nd HSK: S72 TOR 3rd (Adam Frence) and Vladimir Shaposhnikov Alright... so the trade itself isn't the disastrous mistake I made. Jubo had been shipping Shaposhnikov around already for a price that would have been cheaper to get if I didn't go for the third (ironically my own)... which brings me to the huge mistake I actually did make, and this sits entirely on my shoulders. Adam Frence. Do you recall me saying the list was originally written on May 5th? Yeah, I updated it on the 6th and never looked back. To be clear I reference this as my 'written list', but it is a digital file. Back when I originally did my scouting I had one draft pick... one. It was an early fourth round selection that may still yield a quality player for Toronto, which I'm extremely happy with. Ziara Anigbogu might never develop into a VHL Star, but over time he will become a reliable player if he continues earning 6-8 TPE a week, and that's worth a fourth round pick if that player is coming straight from the draft. But drafting Mr. Frence was a mistake. After drafting him I discovered that he nuked himself off the internet... but how did I miss that? Since the portal was acting up for me -- which I said it was being slow -- I couldn't actually check the players again. For this pick I was ill-prepared, but I made the trade because I wanted to bolster the Legions' prospect pool, and it bit me hard. Over zealous, sure, but it is certainly a learning experience. With the portal lagging, and the pick had already taken forever to process (both the trade and the pick itself), I knew to avoid irritating people I just had to make a pick as quickly as I could. I went to my list.. that hadn't been updated since the 6th. I picked Frence over Bobby Wyman and it was a mistake that'll haunt me for a few seasons or eight just because Frence was higher. Yeah. That'll hurt for quite some time. Toronto's draft day wasn't done there, though. Chad Magnum extended his contract with Toronto, including a no-trade clause, so I'm thrilled he's given Toronto an opportunity to develop into a better team. This one is pretty straight forward, and comes on the heels of Jaxx Hextall signing a similar contract with adjusted salary built into it. As some have noted, Hextall's contract could seriously weaken Toronto if ROOKIE goes completely inactive... but I have a great feeling about ROOKIE, and he's been amazing to have on Toronto. Corco provides silent stability for us, and it is immensely appreciated, I hope he'll be our #1 center when our window opens for competition. He's not too active on the Discord, but we share in his successes, such as his recent promotion to Updater and being named for a VHLM conference earlier this month. When I took over for Toronto... we had nothing, really. That's not a stain on Devise, it's just the reality of what happened. The Legion are entirely my team now. And I love it. I can't wait to see what happens when we do start those playoff runs. WE - ARE - LEGION That's everything. Thanks for reading. 1,100 words. Claiming for weeks ending on May 23 and 30th.
  13. Toronto, Ontario -- Toronto Legion skipper Rylan Peace spent his rookie season with the Reign, joining recently inducted hall of fame goaltender Kallis Kriketers for a single season... unfortunately for both Kriketers and the club, the Reign were eliminated in seven games hot off the success of a championship run just one post-season removed. GM Peace hasn't forgotten just how truly dominating 'Krik' was during his rookie season, posting a 42-13-3 record on route to winning the Greg Clegane Trophy. Had Riga gone further, it is likely the HoF netminder would have more awards under his belt, but I suppose it wouldn't have mattered anyway. "He was a beast," Peace recalled. "I was young in the league -- so was he -- but he was far more composed than any other goalie I played against that season, he had everything locked down and on point, almost as if it was his personal mission to win back to back championships. Turned out that was just him, he was always an elite presence on the ice, and while Ben (Riga GM) always complained... he was lucky to have that security in net." "Enjoy the hall, Krik."

  15. Off-season edition! Finally. 1. Did you expect Seattle to win the cup? 2. With the off-season officially beginning... what do you think some movements in free agency will be? 3. What do you anticipate for Toronto? 4. Sadly, Toronto does not have any useful picks in the VHL Entry Draft, so do you think they'll be able to sign some quality players in free agency? 5. What are your growth expectations for yourself while preparing for the upcoming seasons? 6. Damien Wolfe will be joining the Legion next season. Are you excited for his arrival?
  16. TORONTO, ONTARIO -- When he's not drunk at home, doing yard work, or preparing family meals to help them get through the current medical crisis... Legion forward Erik Killinger is at the rink or at home training for the upcoming season. Hidden sources from within the club suspect that Toronto Legion GM Rylan Peace has asked Erik Killinger to begin positional training as a defensemen for the hockey club, a position that is obviously their biggest weakness. In fact, upon closer inspection of the situation, the Legion would enter S72 without a single defender on the team if Killinger does not swap to defending instead of attacking. Currently, the Legion employ four defenders until free agency officially opens. Aaron Nielsen retired, so his services with Toronto will end that day, but the other three will walk in free agency as the team sheds inactive weight. No one really knows what the plan for Toronto is, but there is always a method to the madness...

Grinded for three days? I offered you a trade and you accepted it less than two hours later.
  18. Damn that's amazing... can I get a refreshed Legion logo?
  19. 1. I felt like the Legion did great this season, we reached our objective of .500 hockey and were in the playoff picture for a good 3/4th's of the season. The end of the season, however... was a disappointment to say the least. Our lines were rolled back and we suffered for it, and we weren't the only team to get our lines reverted to a previous sim. No resim was offered, even though it was asked, because it really wouldn't have mattered anyway. I disagreed, but GMs don't win arguments in this league. 2. S71 was easily about frustrating NA Conference teams. We were supposed to be an easy win... nope! 3. S72 will be undoubtedly lead by our top players, so I'm really curious to see how well they all do. 4. Some individual awards are always a nice goal to reach, and I'm hoping I can help someone get there. Any Legion, really. 5. Honestly I stopped paying attention, I'm not really invested in these playoffs this season, but I am prepared to laugh at Vancouver always. 6. Toronto Legion. Hands down. #bleedblue
  20. So much salt in this thread, and given the day it is today, there is no other appropriate GIF.
  21. All star game? Nah, I’ll pass.
