  7. It wasn't too long ago that the Seattle Bears once again got to re-taste that amazing, beautiful honey and even went back for seconds before they ended up getting stung by the Titans (pretty much the perfect example of a wasp at the time). Since then, honey has been the furthest thing from their grasps and each time they try to climb the tree, the cliff or wherever this beautiful nest of sweet, golden nectar is - they fall down, collapse and seemingly and utterly, die and rot. Why? Well, the Seattle Bears if you missed it, nuked their own roster (nope.. we wish microwaved. Literally Kim Jong-un'd that shit) and totally sent themselves flying into a rebuild. Despite getting the shit absolutely Mayweathered out of themselves, more so management, the team states the moves were necessary and that while waiting another season may have paid off, it may have also burnt them just as bad. Since those gruesome days, the team has grown and shown signs of progress. This started out with having a significant draft in last years VHL entry draft - where they announced the Sergei Kovalev @Laflamme, Matt Thompson @Beketov, CHAT @eaglesfan036 and Roger Sterling @Will would be joining the team So, what's next for the Bears and their magnificent plot to get that hooooney? What moves have they made so far this off-season? 1. Get some front office help. The Seattle Bears organization proudly announced the other day the hiring of management help. It has be known that GM Campbell has been slightly struggling with maintain his energy levels throughout the duration of the season, and now that he's entering another rebuild, it's a great thing to have some extra help, activity and guidance. We have to remember, it's not that Campbell is shitting the bed, simply that he's GM'd over 900 consecutive games. That's the longest one time tenure in Bears history - all while he now holds 1st place for all-time Bears wins. While look at the big picture, his career may not be great - but despite his lack of championships, he's been great, loyal and active GM who puts his boys first. Now, with the endurance problem, the Bears moved forward to hire someone who isn't lacking in experience - old Riga Reign GM, @Toast. Now, the Bears have a great 1-2 punch in the GM section and surely will be bringing some power in the coming future. Well, you said it pretty perfect. It's not that I've maybe lost passion or desire, but more so energy. We have other things going on, we're busy people and you know, being in a role for such a long period of time - you can get complacent and stuck. I've been at the helm for a very long time and despite this feeling and me bringing it up a couple times, I knew I'd regret heavily stepping down. Thus, we brought in help. Another big reason for this is that after an extended period of time like I've ran for, you get stuck in your ways. You have ideologies that you believe in, perspectives and strategies that you know or think would work and these are things you either knew or learnt, but rarely do you evolve after some point. Bringing in a great person like Toast enables the team to further our team discussions, while seeking positive and unique ideas for how the team should be. Very, very excited to have him come on board. 2. She's draft day. The Seattle bears have made it known to the league's GM's that the draft picks are up for grabs, but that they better bring their pocket books and a pen, a turkey carver and a skin graph machine or a pretty solid pocket pussy with some semi-warmed coconut oil if they want to get their heads on it. In fact, while not 100% confirmed, little whispers throughout the league state the Bears got a garbage offer sending a 1st overall player (Thompson) and the 2nd overall pick for 2 mid firsts and an inactive. Of course, despite making a few dumpster deals in the previous season, this wasn't a must and Campbell told the GM to cook eggs. Heading into the draft, the Bears are in a good position, but we wonder who they'll take? They're keen on loyalty, but who the fuck aint these days? The world is a giant maxy pad serving us pussies in the new societal melt down. Will it be Twinger, despite him already being selected 1st overall to the Riga Reign? Or how about @jRuutu, @Pandar or @Hybrid1486? Maybe he rolls off and selects the safest bet in the entire draft, his own player. In fact, if you think about - him and Twinger are the two most proven guys in the draft. It's going to be interesting to see. Right now, we're having discussions with the team. Toast has finally be brought in and everyone is talking via text what are plans are for the draft. Clearly, we haven't much time and the clock is ticking, but patience will guide us in a good direction here. There's a lot of solid choices so we need to make the best one for the Seattle Bears. At this moment, discussions will obviously continue and well likely be reaching out to those select group of players once again. 3. Lastly, for this season - stay on track. I don't think we want to rush this rebuild. We have a nice core here for the team and I truly feel like these guys are going to stick around and make Seattle a great place to be again. While the previous year was difficult for most of us, largely was it for goalie Roger Sterling. His record wasn't anywhere near "good", but you can't blame him in these moments. You want the guy to love his career, be happy and kick ass. Right now, that probably isn't happening. He has a high role in the league and he's very understanding and knows this is all a part of it, but we want to give him the best possible. Next years draft is looking great, so we want to remain big players in it. But, we do want to improve in certain areas. Unfortunately, it won't be in the standings but more so in player progression and stats. 1,058 words - 2 weeks (starting tomorrow, August 6th) August 6th to 12th ** DOUBLE WEEK - 11th VHL birthday August 13th to 19th

  9. Sad day
  10. @BluObieZ font bring back memories??
  11. It's the moment a lot of you guys wait for. Creating a player is a blast and playing through the VHLM, for me anyway, is always a great time. You get an opportunity to play with people you've never played against, win some games, score some goals and meet new members who recently joined the site. All those things and you also get to chase a championships. But, as the wise and knowledgeable @Da Trifecta always says, some don't enjoy the league and while most probably like it or at least don't mind going through it, everyones eyes are always on the prize and that's the VHL draft. Where are you going to go? What are you going to do? Who are your teammates going to be, who will be your GM and whats your role looking like on the team? Are you joining someone who is winning now, winning next season or going through the long haul of a rebuild. This exciting day is coming soon and is only about 24-30 some odd hours away from becoming reality. Who is ready? The draft lottery was held and we seen Riga take 1st, Seattle, Toronto and Quebec following behind to round out the top 4. For this draft, despite there being a clear winner when it comes to one of the prospects, there's really no loss. Looking at some of the ranking, actually, the 1st round is filled out nicely and while some players upfront may be a bit of a gamble, you can bet your ass that it could be worth the risk. Especially in the Top 5. Now, unlike last season, the guessing game isn't going to be as big. Twinger goes 1st overall and there's no question about it. @hedgehog337 will deny or not confirm probably but this is happening and he's going to be teaming them up with @Tagger and @Victor to make some crazy offensive power in the lions den.. or cave.. or grassed area underneath a sun torn tree. Though, let's look at some of the biggest prospects and try and nail the thing on the donkeys ass of where they're heading. 1. Leph Twinger - @DollarAndADream He's easily the best player in the draft and while in the past some teams have likely strayed away from this, history tends to show us that the best is picked the best and how fittingly he'll be joining some of the best. He's largely ahead of the others in the ranks of prospects and is a clear showing that he's going to be a great player in the league. Well, scratch that. It's going to show us that he's going to have the high, elite skill to be a great player in the league. As we have seen, you just need to be the right kind of player. Massive skill means zero against someone who knows the game. Though, we don't doubt he'll become very great and will be one of the leading guy in the VHL for the next 8 seasons to come. 2. Rauno Palo - @jRuutu - While determining the "2nd best player" in the draft isn't easy as the next few players are pretty level headed, you have to take a couple things into account. The first being that the agent of Palo is a great guy. Seattle has short history with him while Jokinen was brought in to chase the cup with Seattle some moons ago. Seattle had nothing but great things to say about it. The second, he's a centre and at times, they can be very hard to come by. Dan Montomgery @BarzalGoat is the next best guy in the draft at this position and while he's a solid member and player, Rano is also almost double the player. Though, while he should earn second best - we wouldn't count him here quite yet but it is the most realistic choice. 3. Maxim Kovalchuk @Banackock Another position that is extremely hard to come by at times. This pick could easily go a few ways but Kovalchuk has all the tools to be a crazy good player. Not only this, but there's a strong chance he's one of the more loyal guys in the draft. Seconding onto his strong skill set and the importance is position is, Toronto would be adding him to an already great presence in Malenko.. @pennypenny - so it's safe to say Toronto could have the best pairing in the league. Lastly, we feel like Kovalchuk could land here again for two final reasons. He stated publicly that he'd happily go to Toronto and that while he may not have quite the TPE players like Mulligan or Slipher have, he's less of a gamble. Both of those guys have tendencies to disappear slightly or slack in the update department (no offence) and you know 100% Kovalchuk will be a good work horse for the team. 4. Vesto Slipher - @Hybrid1486 Similar to above, this one could go any direction. We feel there's more so 3 options for this spot and it really doesn't matter a whole lot because the chances of us guessing are pretty high. My guess is, in the remaining players ranked 8th and better (thats 5 including Vesto), 4 I believe have atleast the chance of being taken here. Of those 4, for this spot, I'd say Vesto is the safest bet. While there are promising members out there, he's got the best TPE numbers, has a strong background in the league and is showing quite promise. Furthering, he'd be a great piece to add to the Meute organization and could step in and have an immediate impact. 5. Dan Montgomery - @BarzalGoat The team has a top defender in Samuel Gate @street and the next best defender for the most part is Landon Baxter. No knocks to him, but he will not be taken 5th overall. With already having a strong defender and two strong wingers (Dragomir and Louth), I think we can safely peg the tail on the donkey with this one and guesstimate that he's going off-roading on this pick. DO I SMELL A FIRST GEN PICK? While he may not be the BEST PLAYER AVAILABLE based off TPE, he is the best player available for positional and team needs for the Meute. Slipher or someone will clearly swap to the right side and Monty will slide very nicely deep down the middle. Is it a gamble? Sure, but I think in this case and seeing Barzal thus far, it will likely pay itself off in the future and make for a wicked first line. 2 WEEKS for Kovalchuk + double THIS WEEK from 11th birthday shit july 30 - aug 5th * double aug 6 to 12th
