  1. Props to whoever made this. Things pretty sweet! The Victory Hockey League has begun it's transit period into better and brighter things. As we touched upon in a previous article, the league has hired two new commissioners in @Beketov and @Devise. Though they are new to the blue team, and while I'm sure we can't give them all the credit, they've done an extremely fine job so far and have brought much change throughout the VHL already. In fact, I can't remember in quite a few seasons where we've seen such a good amount of change take place so quickly. In case any of you missed it, though it should be difficult now as they posted big message at the top, these are the following changes to the VHL so far: 1. Blue Team - 100% - Beketov and Devise were hired onto the blue team. Both hardworking, longtime and respected members throughout the board that have always been contributing members. 2. Point Task Changes - 100% - In my eyes, a pretty decent change and it rewards us active guys with a "thank you" for doing what you do. While I do see it dipping activity a little bit, I don't think it would harm too much. A lot of us guys may write big articles to get the monthly point tasks out of the way, but someone like me will still be busy as I write for the magazine and may also do a media spot for the sake of activity from time to time. If you missed the announcement, click --> POINT TASK CHANGES 3. Reviewing Changes - 80% - It's a slight change. While the chances of you getting an "auto 6" are still pretty high, the blue team has introduced a new method to grading and reviewing articles. The power is now to the people of the VHL. A way to introduce and improve activity throughout the boards and in the media section, we now have th power to review articles and get paid for it. You can't write some quick little bullshit - so I advise you to read the article and actually comment on the article with meaning. It's not hard and is a very easy way to gain some TPE. If you missed the announcement, click --> NEW REVIEWING SYSTEM 4. Financier and BOG - 100% - This one isn't so much of a change, but is a hiring process for the league. While @Tagger was in the role, he did a pretty good job making sure everything stayed in order and helped GM's and players as much as he could. If you want to keep track of league finances, check out this post somewhere in here: League Financier position OPEN - APPLY (1 TPE a week during season - 2 per week during off-season). Lastly, with two great BOG members stepping down, they're looking for two new members with fresh ideas and the ability to converse among others. If that's you and you wish to bring the VHL to bigger and better with the help of some other notable members, click --> Wanna be a BOG? Click here, hey. 1 Point task completed above (520 words) and now... for your feature presentation... As noted above, we've talked of ways we can make the VHL better. I'm either going to retouch on some of these ideas to offer better explanation to the BOG, blue team and league members, or fire away some new ideas. The VHL is a great hobby for myself. Besides other life activities, the girlfriend, the friends, the 2017 Nissan 370z (with a hail dent, FML) and other good stuff, the VHL is something I typically use to relax. It brings me fair enjoyment. Thus, I wish to only ever see it succeed and grow. So here I am, writing another lengthy article on how I think to do so. Ability to earn TPE outside of the Media Spots or Point Task related things This was something I slightly touched upon in the previous article but was something I wanted to resurface for a little while. I think the league has listened to its members very well over the last little while, so hopefully they do with this too (maybe?). Another thing they've done really well, without an evidence or proof that it will work however, is increase league activity in the media section. An area in my eyes where we need to create some activity is anywhere that doesn't have to do with writing media article, putting in effort, something seeming tedious and having to do work. We come on every week and have set out tasks for ourselves to make players better. We write articles, have jobs, do VHL.com's, Rookie reports and yadadada. All of the activity seems to be in one set area. Something I enjoy about the SHL, though I don't take place, is that the activity is also outside of the league related area. They talk about the Oilers in the Oilers threads - or ANY NHL teams. They talk about baseball, politics, movies and music. Anything and everything. If we could find a way to improve activity in these areas, I think people would enjoy the site more. It would be a closer bunch. We all discuss shit that isn't league related. I also think that it would create a better viewing for members that just joined. People open reddit are on there for one thing, right? or no? It's to discuss shit, take part in discussions and to be involved in something they're passionate in. I'm not saying reward TPE, but maybe it's a solid option if we do decide to slightly raise the weekly cap. @DeathOnReddit was the member, if not mistaken, who says he didn't really like hockey... BUT still joined the VHL. Why not give him a reason to stay? Hockey isn't his cup of tea - so why not offer what he wants and reward him for it? GM Pay - maybe through tasks which improve activity etc. While it is a privilege to GM in any of the leagues in the Victory Hockey League, and in addition I have had the honour to do so in both, It would be nice to receive some sort of payment for the handwork that we do. Now, I'm not saying you grant us with weekly TPE, but how about find a way to make us better while at the same time making the league better. I have a couple ideas, so follow along The first being that we get a set in stone, 1 TPE a week. The VHLM gets it, right? Or is it 2? I can't remember. But both are important leagues and lately we've found it difficult to keep GM's active. Though some don't see it, VHL is just as important too. People can lose interest on a rebuilding team. I've helped a couple members out with activity or writing and honestly, it's the least I can do. I have the reputation that I've never won anything. Some members, without saying names, may not believe I'ma good GM, but I try my ass off every single day for the team that I have and will continue to do so until my final days with the Bears. It's absolutely crucial that the league and it's head teams find GM's who are committed strongly to their teams for th along haul, not 1-2 seasons. The second being that we introduce "GM Tasks" for ability to earn tpe. Have them write out weekly reports, though this may be too tedious. Why not have the GM's write a End of Season presser sort of thing, or a given topic from the blue team (or give us 2 options to choose from based off our current team and it's performance) and give us a +2 TPE bonus for that final week of the season? Stocks Can't remember who it was @Beaviss or @Spade18 maybe, but they had a really great idea for this too. I think it would be a really fun idea and of course, would promote activity. It would either have to do with players, teams or players and teams and be based off the performance of whichever. It would give the players the ability to earn extra money for bigger or newer incentives in the store or throughout the league. Now, to the bullet points. Every team will start at 1M buy in for the season (whenever this were to be brought into the league). Teams could buy a maximum amount of stocks (say 3M for the first season - so 3). Then, we would evaluate at a certain point in the season. Or, maybe we can do it once per season and you can only sell and buy at certain points. So example, person 1 buys 3M of Seattle stocks this season while person 2 buys 3M of Davos stocks. Without playoff performance taking into account and only the conslussion of the regular season, Seattle's stocks dropped to $800,000 a stock (a lot, right? Apple is jealous) while Davos grew from 1,000,000 to 1.75 for the season. This is all based off performance. Person 1 spent 3M on Seattle stocks, with a loss of 600k. So they can take out their money at 2.4 (or round it to 2.5) or keep playing in hopes that next season they rebound. Person 2 on the other hand, will see away out of 2.25 Mill to bring their total to 5.25 they can take out. Maybe, for the sake of it and huge winnings, we charge a 250k tax to anyone who takes out money too. It's realistic and helps with inflation a little bit. Maybe this money can be put into a lottery OR give to a new member? Another option, rather than basing it so heavily off performance, is to also base it off other things. Example, Seattle has a few good young pieces. When they drop to 0.8 Mill stocks and then enter a rebuild, they'll drop to say, 500,000 (0.5M). Though, after acquiring some picks and draftees in the off-season, the future is looking bright. The price rices and hovers around .75M again. This would allow players to buy in for a small time payout based off rosters. For realism, we could also base the stocks off performance and roster, BUT also off how people are buying and selling a little too. It would be tedious work for whoever is looking after it, but if tons are buying Stockholm stocks, the price of course will go up every purchase. If people start selling due to performance (which would also cause it to dip), then the price will do the same and dip because of performance AND selling. NOTE: anything above would also be similar if we were to do stocks on players. It would be impossible to do stocks on EVERY player and would have to be regulated for the sake of inflation. Casino or Lottery Though we already have a lottery, I never understood it. Also bout should be bringing back the lottery in the magazine so this is a good thing to see. I would, however, like to ability to bet on VHL gm's or maybe even some NHL games if possible. Max better 250,000 and make our own odds up for NHL or VHL games. Won't go too hardcore into this, but we'd have set amount of games per week. Maybe one a day but having people max out once a week? Or give the people the ability to bet on VHL games and let them do one a week (monday through Sunday). Seattle Bears - 3.05 VS HC Davos 1.19. Bears win, you all lose. NOWWWWW.. While writing this.. I thought of TWO ideas.. not sure what you all will think.. but if I keep talking here.. boom.. 2000 words. The first is the least "major" of the 2.. World Juniors and IIHF I know we do it every know and then and can't do it all the time, but we should hold Olympics every 4 seasons, but have an off-season event every season. Have a couple teams, maybe Canadian, USA, Europe and World for world juniors. Don't have Gold or silver etc as there'd always be 3 winners, but have it like the World championship in the VHL but for younger players to keep them active. Any player that is in their rookie season or VHL are able to play in the tournament. Some players will have large caps, but it sucks to have McDavid's of the leagues in there. Maybe we can find a way to regulate this too. 8 or 12 game "tournament" followed by a 1x4, 2x3 playoff. Whoever wins, world junior champion. Final idea: JUNIOR LEAGUE I know, I know. We have a hard time regulating and having 2 leagues run stable, but this may open the door for bigger, better while also having players enjoy their time (also adds realism) and Is a totally, 100% fresh idea. Don't think it's in another league. People bitch about the gaps between players. He has 175, but this guy has 35. Why not get rid of that and alter leagues? The JUNIORS - Made up of 3 teams, all 3 teams make playoffs so all teams find success and players enjoy the system fully. Playoffs would be 2x3 with the 1st team getting a bye. Each team will draft players which are recreates, new members etc. There will be no such thing as free agents unless we allow 1 inactive per team. The JUNIORS - We have the TPE cap sitting at 100 TPE. You're allowed to breach this as the season goes on, but obviously have to be below it prior to the regular season or draft or whatever. THE VHLM - The TPE cap would now raise. The cap would be between 101 TPE and 250 TPE. This allows players to spend more time in the VHL, reap the rewards of achievement tracker while also spending more time with younger players. If your team wants you, of course, they can always call you up. However, this helps 30 TPE not get bombed by 175 TPE players, and allows members not to suck ass in the VHL at 200 TPe against 800 TPE players OR playing low minutes because they're on an amazing team. I'm sure a lot of people would be against the idea, but it allows for more jobs and more people get their foot in the door for VHLM and VHL GMing. It allows for more activity, more variety and differences in the league compared to others. It also closes the gap and makes everything more competitive. 2,475 words. I'll claim October 1st - October 31st (4 Point Tasks) for Mattias Forsberg October 2nd - 8th AND October 9th to 15th are double weeks.
  2. Hey VHL, myself and @JardyB10 are bringing SEXY back! Kidding, sorta. But the VHL portal is back in the works!

  3. Holy shit!!
  4. He is suck.
  5. MAYBE, just MAYBE.. we could bring in the option to purchase teams? Or have a stock system where it goes up and down so you have to watch careful. Player may go #5 overall and boom, shit the bed. Have money carryover 50%, or none at all. Have the purchase price of an organization be 50 Mill - almost out of reach but doable for some if they do it right or work hard. Could bring about a 500K for 1 TPE, 5M for 10 and cap it at that for some extra buys. 1 PER season say? Stocks would only increase a few times per season? Say quarterly OR weekly? Makes people pay attention a little? Have a group of people called the "Bankers" on "Victory Street". This idea is giving me a chub.
  6. inb4 that team shits the bed and sells off their players for un-dilled pickles and Canadian pennies.
  7. Ya know, I'd GM. Or maybe we can get some new guys to enjoy it. Either way, Ill throw my name in. I need to win somewhere.
  8. I really like this. Often I catch myself going over the 1,000 word mark, so it will be nice to be rewarded for my work. Also nice I can get shit out of the way, do an entire months work at the start of each month and then enjoy the site without having to work about work or life conflicting with the league. Not a bad idea, boys.
  9. It was sarcastic remarks to the one and only, Da Trifuckoff who stated themed point tasks and myself were dumb I like taking digs at random people through confusing methods. Nothing about you hahah
  10. Isn't carryover potentially 1-75 TPE? Is it really that big of a difference for it to cause someone to jump into the VHL with 75 TPE as opposed to starting in the VHLM with 30 or whatever.. This will just make sure I don't use carryover as it would make zero sense.
  11. Edition 333 of Magazine is out! Get your read on, folks.

  12. imo, would be fun for about 3 days. The moment the draft was over, nah. Teams have put in too much work to "reset". Good idea for a PT though
  13. Dude, the HoF thing was a sarcastic joke Hopefully I haven't been "punk'd" and you were aware haha Good idea for a PT tbh.
  14. No. Activity check wouldn't bring about activity. Would be like another scavenger hunt or stat hunt. Find it, post it and move on. Easy, meaningless TPE. I'm simply saying, while I may be the dumbest person ever (hah), I don't see anything wrong with themed PT's. Does the SHL have them? YES. Does it drive in activity? YES. Is it fun to read some of them? YES. Is it easier and more enjoyable to write them? Sometimes. I see nothing wrong with a couple themed point tasks a season. While DT states SHL is SHL, VHL is VHL - there's nothing wrong with taking some good things and adding them to us. Being different is good, yes. Just because we have one thing that I can almost promise boosts activity in common with the SHL, doesn't make us them. OR, maybe we add some random discussions. We open up the floor for our reddit users. We have a bunch of people on here who came from reddit posting that they're not hockey fans. Why don't we open the floor to maybe earn a SMALL amount of discussion taking place in other areas of the board? For example, some people coming over from reddit or elsewhere may enjoy football, baseball, politics or movies more? Why not have them write up a 300 word article on some shit? Maybe Joey bats final home game with Toronto? Maybe they post a bunch and stuff? Find a way to get activity going in other areas that aren't considered tedious and potential "jobs" or "work" on the VHL. We come on and it's like " fuck, I still have to write a media spot, magazine article and blah blah". Why not allow members of all backgrounds to earn a little TPE for simply enjoying conversing with one another? Give them some motivation to speak in other places other than the main spots? @Beketov @Devise @Higgins
  15. Not activity check. Themed Point Tasks. Example - You and 3 teammates throw a surprise birthday part for one of your teammates. Whose birthday was it? Who was there? What did you do and what events took place? ETC. If we're looking for different ideas, that's going to be tough considering all the leagues out there. As long as were not cynical like some who claim to want to be different, yet bring up ideas that other leagues are doing I like my finance shit then, lol. Let's build arenas and give us the option of purchasing teams. SHALL we bring in player agencies?
  16. I've confused myself. Did I miss the Lotto or something?
  17. Congrats to both teams! Good luck QUE VS DAV. Gonna be a fun series to watch and write about
  18. Hmm, deja vu. Predicted this result in the mag.
  19. Those are sort of unique ideas. Don't mind them too much. Would be hard to come up with a bunch maybe, but it connects the league and users. Don't mind my opinion though. I'm the dumbest ever
  20. Where did I say "What was your suggestion?" Did you or did you not state we should use a version of another leagues idea because it worked well for that league? I don't understand why you're getting so upset. I haven't called you dumb or anything like that?
  21. 1. No. You don't. I never asked for it. 2. What would posting you idea do? Are you suggesting we have to do it simply because you suggested it? Okay, you weren't crying - but did you not say that it was a good idea to do it because another league had been doing it?? Wouldn't that be copying another league?
  22. Also, @KGR, I don't think I've ever disrespected you for anything you've had to offer for the benefit of the VHL. Don't see why I earn disrespect for offer my time and ideas to the VHL. hmm.
