  1. Blake Campbell was fresh off a S42 Founders Cup victory when he made leap into the Viking's rosters. There he sat, behind a potential Hall of Famer Brick Wahl, trying to prove to the fans that the future of Stockholm was in good hands when it comes to future goaltending. Throughout the season, he played quite a few games, went 19-1-1 with a GAA of 1.40 and a Save % of .930. Along with those stats, he shut out his opponents 8 times, meaning of his 21 recorded games, he shut out his opponents 38% of the time. He's a young guy with a lot left to learn in the league, and although good, we feel there's quite the road ahead of him in order to become a true #1, elite goalie in the VHL. Will he accomplish this? Let's hear what he has to say. When I first entered the league, I was flying. I felt great and that nothing could stop me. Obviously with age, comes depreciation. Everything that goes along, gains a little rust or has to work harder in order to work a full 100%. I will admit the last while has been tough. I've been extremely busy, so maybe my full attention hasn't been there, but I'm still working the same as I used to - it just takes a little more. Stockholm management and the team have been great to me and have put a lot of faith in me the day they drafted me. I hate to say it because it may make me sound cocky, but If I go belly up, it f*cks them quite a bit and I don't want to do that to them. I will continue to push in hopes that we can lift the cup ASAP.
  2. Just a 6-0 shutout. Today's sims I'm fairly confident with.
  3. Hey brah. No counting eggs til they hatch.
  4. Winsgate shuts the door.. Good game, Western Europe. Good luck tomorrow
  5. Hmm.. tough loss to Western Europe. Winsgate shuts the door on USA. Could be just bad luck - we'll see. 1st -- PP --> 31.58% (next team is 20.00%) 1st -- PK --> 93.75% (next team is 88.89%) 2nd for Shots For 1st for Shots Against 1st for FO --> 61% Might go to the drawing board tonight and make some minor changes to the line up. Mercs, West Europe and World for tomorrow's sim. See if we can get some wicked chemistry rocking in other areas. As always USA members, feel free to PM if you have suggestions. Banack
  6. I do believe we found the issue (error in the lines - overuse of one player, under use of the other), Thank you Brovy for catching that! Appreciate it buddy! Stronger as a TEAM as opposed to one individual trying to steer the ship. Next sims going to be huge boys! USA, USA, USA!
  7. I had expressed that I wanted Waldron in for game 1 and Mikaelson in for Game 2 VS Canada just to get a feel for things. Mikaelson's stats are a little stronger than Waldron's, however, I made the mistake of thinking we only did one day sims. My bad! However, I do not believe we necessarily lost because of goaltending. 4 Goals on 21 shots isn't a good performance (so it definitely didn't help us any), but with 47 shots on net, you'd think the scores would have been swapped. Good game, Canada.
  8. Fire Banack, tbh. (Like I said prior and will continue to state, I am the GM and I make the lines (and have good experience doing so) .. however, we're a TEAM. If any of you have suggestions, please do not hesitate to offer your suggestions to me. Different teams and different players run differently and I'm always open to other opinions and methods).
  9. Ah shit. The sim was 2 days, rather than 1 (my bad). Niklaus was going to get the start VS Canada. ALTHOUGH... 47-21 shots for us VS Canada. Just a rough game. Onto the next!
  10. Team USA lines sent in. Hungover as shit today.
  11. O'Malley is our starter for game 1.
  12. I will likely be taking a look at lines sometime tomorrow. If any of you on the roster have suggestions, I'd prefer if you PM me with them. I would like any and all if so who want to be apart of it, to be apart of it and the process which leads us to a championship. I have a plan in mind hopefully, but I am open to other options and will consider them once I finalize the lines and potentially make changes. Thanks in advanced, USA, USA, USA! 13. Not too long ago, an announcement was made for the World Championship of Hockey that the search was now on for Team GM's. Of the 6 teams, potentially the biggest powerhouse team, was in search of someone who can surely take them to the promise land. A few short days after the original announcement for hiring positions was made, the hiring selections had been completed and GM's were named for each team. For Team USA, they gave the reigns to Oslo Co-GM and VHLM magazine writer, Blake Campbell. Campbell is an up and coming general manager within the VHL community and has been working hard for quite sometime to establish himself as a vital, strong contributing member to the VHLM, VHL and within his LR's. The opportunity has finally come for him to show the league and those who are watching closely exactly what he can do. Obviously when I was approached by WCoH commissioners about the position, I was very excited, anxious and honored. I quickly sent in a resume and got a response back fairly immediately and had learned that I was a top candidate for the position. Honestly, to lead a VHL and VHLM team is one thing, but to take on the role as a national team GM, that's a huge part in my very young career as a GM. I have a large amount of experience in numerous other leagues, however, am a fresh face to the VHL community when it comes to being in a manager position. I look forward to showing them what I got. Campbell briefly touched up on his plans for Team USA, lines and what he believes is in store for Team USA and their opponents. The rosters were submitted and posted a day after I was hired into the position. I am very fortunate to have a group of elite players that gives me a lot of options to work with. Obviously, this means that the pressure is more on for me than a team that is potentially weaker because there's no reason as to why I should fail. Of course, things do happen and sometimes you lose, but that's not my game plan. Lines will not be posted until need be and no official word will be released anywhere, to anyone - not even members of the Team USa squad. We have the upper hand with a strong roster and I want to continue to play my cards right so that it stays that way. There's a few other good teams out there and they're gonna put on a hell of a show just like us. Am I nervous? Of course. Am I confident? Absolutely. I've recently sent a package of Maple syrup to the Canadians management personnel with an apology note saying "this is the only thing that's going to be sweet about the US this year, sincerely - Dick Cheney". Here we go, eh?
  14. Bernie has an off night. Good job on game 3, Brampton! Good luck in next game Royals/Blades.
  15. The excitement that goes along with this opportunity, being a new GM and all, is a great feeling. What makes it better is that we got all the other teams in our "roster section" and let me tell you, all I can smell is fear. They fear us boys! Oh, and this just happened. Banack's GM sig. Badass or Badass? MERICA!
  16. TEAM USA Rosters Forwards Bruno Wolf Freedom McJustice James Faraday Thomas O'Malley Tom Slaughter Tyson Stokes Defense Jack Kowalski Jake Wylde Jerrick Poole Mason Richardson Goalies Brock Waldron Niklaus Mikaelson I'd like to congratulate each and everyone who was selected to represent Team USA at the World Championships. The task was not a simple one,as it's tough to leave a few active guys out but do not let this discourage you! Push forward my fellow Americans - your time will come soon enough! Once again, congratulations. Now let's go out there and get ready to show the other nations how to play hockey. You hear that Canada, eh? We're coming for you.
  17. Rosters will be announced tonight at 10 PM EST. May be a tad later, BBQing and beers. Merica! STAY TUNED!
