In a move which may have surprised some, some maybe not so much, the previous GM had stepped down due to conflicting personal matters. A little while later and earlier on today, it was officially announced that Blake Campbell will be taking over as the Head GM of the Bratislava Watchmen. Shortly after the announcement, Mr. Campbell was available to answer some Q's and announced a brief statement. Firstly, I'd like to thank the league for giving me these tremendous opportunity. When I was approached about the position the other evening, my initial response to the commissioner was absolutely. Honestly, was a cool f*cking feeling it was to see my name in green and to now be apart of the Watchmen's Locker Room. I have a lot of plans for this organization, a lot of hopes and goals. Most would say dreams but often dreams can be unattainable. I truly hope that I am able to bring a high level of success to the Watchmen's organization. Blake Campbell has been busy the last while in his fairly short, yet already successful career within the VHLM and VHL. Seasons ago, he went from a very low-played backup to a Founder's Cup winning starter with the Brampton Blades. He has officially become the starter for the Stockholm Vikings as of the start of S44. Among those mentions, he was hired on by Oslo as a CO for a short while (although did pretty much nothing) and is currently the Head GM of Team USA who are now fighting for a Gold Medal in the upcoming games. When asked how all this has felt to him, this was his response: It feels good to get recognition for placing a fair amount of effort into the league. I don't want to come off as cocky, but I am confident I am the right guy for this position at this current time. I'm not saying there wasn't other deserving candidates, but that the league did not make a right choice. Hopefully I am able to show them they were right too. And for the most brief moment, he commented on his stance with the team and what's to come in the future. Obviously, I'm new to Bratislava and am not the type of guy to make quick decisions or moves just for the sakes of doing such things. I'm currently in the process of looking at the roster, getting a feel for the LR and the boys and determine what's in store for us. Just because the start of this season's story has been written doesn't mean you can't change bits and pieces to create a different ending. As for a CO-GM, that's obviously undecided too. Do I want one? I'm not sure. The support would be nice and I feel it would add much more strength to our management potentially, as well as team. This is something I will consider over the next while and make a decision as soon as I come up with something.

It's a takeover.

Please continue your ways. It's no myth, it's legend. Thank you for the opportunity. With being d_a's and Oslo's CO, to becoming a starting goalie for Stockholm to Head GM for Team USA and now this - got to say it feels good. Very excited to start my journey with the team. Over the next while, I will be finding my feet with the team and figuring out how to kick. Currently away from home doing a week's worth of training for my company but that won't prevent me from fulfilling my GMing duties. Here we goooo! Again, thank you.

Blake Campbell was fresh off a S42 Founders Cup victory when he made leap into the Viking's rosters. There he sat, behind a potential Hall of Famer Brick Wahl, trying to prove to the fans that the future of Stockholm was in good hands when it comes to future goaltending. Throughout the season, he played quite a few games, went 19-1-1 with a GAA of 1.40 and a Save % of .930. Along with those stats, he shut out his opponents 8 times, meaning of his 21 recorded games, he shut out his opponents 38% of the time. He's a young guy with a lot left to learn in the league, and although good, we feel there's quite the road ahead of him in order to become a true #1, elite goalie in the VHL. Will he accomplish this? Let's hear what he has to say. When I first entered the league, I was flying. I felt great and that nothing could stop me. Obviously with age, comes depreciation. Everything that goes along, gains a little rust or has to work harder in order to work a full 100%. I will admit the last while has been tough. I've been extremely busy, so maybe my full attention hasn't been there, but I'm still working the same as I used to - it just takes a little more. Stockholm management and the team have been great to me and have put a lot of faith in me the day they drafted me. I hate to say it because it may make me sound cocky, but If I go belly up, it f*cks them quite a bit and I don't want to do that to them. I will continue to push in hopes that we can lift the cup ASAP.

Winsgate shuts the door.. Good game, Western Europe. Good luck tomorrow
-
Hmm.. tough loss to Western Europe. Winsgate shuts the door on USA. Could be just bad luck - we'll see. 1st -- PP --> 31.58% (next team is 20.00%) 1st -- PK --> 93.75% (next team is 88.89%) 2nd for Shots For 1st for Shots Against 1st for FO --> 61% Might go to the drawing board tonight and make some minor changes to the line up. Mercs, West Europe and World for tomorrow's sim. See if we can get some wicked chemistry rocking in other areas. As always USA members, feel free to PM if you have suggestions. Banack

Sat he will be.

I do believe we found the issue (error in the lines - overuse of one player, under use of the other), Thank you Brovy for catching that! Appreciate it buddy! Stronger as a TEAM as opposed to one individual trying to steer the ship. Next sims going to be huge boys! USA, USA, USA!

I had expressed that I wanted Waldron in for game 1 and Mikaelson in for Game 2 VS Canada just to get a feel for things. Mikaelson's stats are a little stronger than Waldron's, however, I made the mistake of thinking we only did one day sims. My bad! However, I do not believe we necessarily lost because of goaltending. 4 Goals on 21 shots isn't a good performance (so it definitely didn't help us any), but with 47 shots on net, you'd think the scores would have been swapped. Good game, Canada.
