  3. Thanks to everyone for the interest. As posted above, I have decided to see how things go in Brampton. Best of luck to the rest of the teams though
  4. Blake Campbell after earning his first victory with the Minot Gladiators Blake Campbell emerged into the VHLM later than most of his fellow juniors rivals, however, it didn't take him too long to find his groove within the league and make a name for himself. He was picked off waivers by the Minot Gladiators and although he received limited playing time, he managed to not let that bother him. In fact, lot's of scouts believe that his limited junior experience only caused him to push harder in order to reach the next level. His hard work, determination and sacrifice that he's made to the league and his personal improvement has been above average and because of that, he was a fairly good commodity when it was announced he was going to be a Free Agent when he was missed in this seasons junior dispersal draft. As expected, there was great interest around the young goalie. It's not often that you see a high up, active goalie Free Agent so when one comes along, you don't hesitate. Numerous offers came into the young goalie and his agent, however, only one team can be chosen. Now, without further delay, the announcement. And the team that I will be playing with this season in the VHLM is.. Why did I choose Brampton? Brampton offers me a lot of the things I am looking for. Initially I wasn't too sure but that was only because I was fighting with my mind and heart about going to a team I really wanted to play for and to help out a team that was in need. I truly wish I could have been the guy that was willing to help, but this is likely my last season and as you know, my first one didn't go nowhere near how I wanted it to. I want to win and Brampton has a very nice set up going on. They have some nice forwards and some great defenders to help me out. I also noticed they have a decent goalie around the 90 TPE range. Although he's inactive, hopefully Brampton will be able to potentially move him for a piece or two and potentially help out a team in need. How'd it feel to be taken 8th OV by the Stockholm Vikings? It felt good to be a goalie and be chosen that high up in the draft. When it came to where I was heading on draft day, I was fairly certain on two teams and it looks like one of them chose me. I spoke to Boubabi prior to the draft day a fair amount and really got a feel for what Stockholm had in mind for their present and future. I am willing to work and continue my path towards becoming a starting goalie within the VHL. I am willing to put in the effort to show them I'm their #1 guy, that I can be their future and that I would love nothing more than to be a Viking for a long time to come. Once again, thank you so much for drafting me. What's next for you (Blake Campbell)? Currently I'm focusing on getting everything rounded out to 70. Agility, Rebound Control, Hand Speed and Size have now all hit that mark and I'm currently focusing my attention on how well I'm skating. I'm not the best skater and I think that's fairly important. However, I don't believe I'm going to work on this one all the way til 70. I might get it to 45 - 50 and then begin working on my reaction time which is also very low right now. I hope my works pays off and I can help Brampton make a strong run this season and hopefully come out on top! 891 words - 2 pics.
  5. Earlier this week it was noted that one of the higher goalies available within the VHLM dispersal draft was left out. Due to these events and minor mistakes made by the league, they had awarded him the opportunity to become a Free Agent. To have the power to talk to teams and their managers and choose the one in which he believed was in his best interest. It's been a few days since we've heard any rumbles and the time is finally upon us. Blake Campbell, the goalie who took the league by storm early on in December, has finally come to decision regarding the team he wishes to lace up his pads and fight between the pipes for. Earlier today, his agent spoke with VHL/VHLm media regarding this matter: Announcement will be made when I'm finished the article. Thank you to the league and organizations for their patience regarding the matter. 245 words
  6. He's been a member of the VHL for a few days over 2 months and since the day he joined, we feel it's safe to say he's come a long way. It's not easy to be a new member within a league such as the VHL, however, with the help of numerous generous and helpful he has slowly become a solid player within the league for his age. With extreme dedication and commitment and effort to better himself, along with missing only one opportunity to train, he has become a fairly well balanced goaltender who has the potential to see great success within the VHL. He was drafted 8th overall by the Stockholm Vikings which by our standards is excellent considering he was much later at entering the league than his fellow rival draftees. The future is bright for this young goalie so as long as he can maintain his fairly high level of performance and training but only time will really tell if he has what it takes to truly be an elite goalie. Blake Campbell: Although the VHL draft was very successful for the young goalie, the VHLm dispersal draft was kind of the opposite. Campbell was not on the list and therefor had not been taken by any team during the draft. After talks with the league representatives, it was decided that Campbell were to become a Free Agent and was allowed to choose the team which he would like to play for during his final season within the VHLm. Within the last hour, Campbell had put light to the situation and let the teams, league and fans know what his decision was. This is what he had to say: Blake Campbell: Afterwards, Campbell's Agent made a brief statement following his players words stating that although they don't want to release any info regarding who has contacted himself regarding his client, he wants the organizations to know that each and everyone of them are up for equal consideration and that a decision will be made in a timely manner. Although unconfirmed, sources that know Blake Campbell are saying he is swaying towards a certain team. Blake's friend: ANNOUNCEMENT WILL LIKELY BE MADE MONDAY. Thanks 699 words - 3 pics - Thanks
  7. The draft was earlier this week and quite a successful one it was for numerous players, managers and their teams, as well as for the VHL in general. Afterwards, the VHLm dispersal draft was held and again, it went fairly well. However, the league had made a mistake and had left out a strong candidate/prospect in Blake Campbell and he now has become a Free Agent and has the option to choose his destination. It has been said that Blake Campbell will be making a press release later on tonight and will put light to the situation, share his thoughts and let the league know which team he has chosen. Prior to that, his agent gave a quick statement to VHL Sports Center earlier today and said: "Blake Campbell has been slightly busy, however, he has only missed one opportunity to better himself. He's very excited to have been given the go ahead to pick his own team and will likely do so within the next few days. In the mean time, he's fair game". 176 words.
  8. Will be HOPEFULLY making an article tonight regarding the situation. Thanks thus far for the messages so far boys! Out of curiousity - how long do I have to make a decision?
  9. Ive missed one week of Media Spot and Im considered semi-inactive, haha - what? So Im not on the ball 100% and am super busy - BUT, Im still here and am still wanting to progress my player. Ive missed one week in my entire time and keep in mind I joined much later than my other fellow juniors. I also donated to get an extra doubles week to try and catch up. Im a tad busy but hopefully that's the only week Ill be missing for a while I look forward to choosing my team over the next few days! Very excited for talks! Hopefully the right team comes around and we can chase that cup together!!
  10. I've been using them since I've joined and haven't ever read one of your articles. I've also used them in most ESS stuff on SHL (RIP btw). Pictures suck, gifs are better. Makes em look better imo. But for your sake and confidence, yes budd, I copied you.
  11. It's been almost 2 entire months since Blake Campbell was declared eligible to be picked up on low waivers within the VHLM and since then, he has seen a lot of success. The young goalie had shown great strides in becoming a top goalie within the league, has made strong efforts in rounding out his players attributes and has been one committed guy to himself and his Minot Gladiator teammates. Although the Gladiators well short when it came to making this seasons playoffs and he didn't get to see the ice time he did, he was still very honored to have made the leap into juniors and play for the organization. Campbell came into the league boasting that he would be a top pick and continuously stating that he's trying to become one of the top goalies this league has seen. One has to remember though that many goalies have stated this, many have chased this and many have also failed. For now, however, Campbell has remained on track for the most part, only missing one major week of media spots due to getting a "side job" in Northern Alberta. He looks to continue his strong pace heading into the draft where he will find out where his new home will be. Will he be a top pick? Not sure. Should he be a top pick? Maybe. Only time will tell where he will go but he should turn out to be a very strong player. It's tough being a rookie player, as it's such a short lived trip and in the end, you never know for sure where your next home will be. For a young goalie, it may be even more frustrating for the simple fact that the need for the position may not be as strong as most teams only have 2 or 3 goalies as opposed to the numbers of forwards and defenders that's needed. As most are, we're sure Blake Campbell is counting down the days til the draft which is likely scheduled to be sometime this coming Monday. Best of luck to my fellow draftee members in the upcoming draft, as well as to those who are drafting. Hopefully I will go to a team that will really help my player shine and prosper so that in return I can help my future organization do the same! Cheers guys! 723 words - 3 pics -
  12. Rumor, not fact. Although the young junior goalie has recently took a slight dip in his otherwise stellar development, he intends to still bring his "A" game the best that he can heading into the draft and his professional career within the Victory Hockey League. Earlier this morning, he was available for a quick Questioning period where he lightly touched up on his new experiences up in Northern Alberta and his intentions for his career in the VHL. 222 words
  13. Please move this to the appropriate thread. Hi, I'm in camp (working up in northern alberta rocking huge hours daily etc. Taking the first few days off ATLEAST so really focus on the job and my body. JUST a heads up I'm not inactive and PLEASE still think of me as an active, good player. Just SUPER BUSY AND SORE! Thanks guys
  14. 10th isn't bad considering I joined a bit later than most! My goal is to be the best to whoever drafts me and never miss a single Point Tasks/opportunity to improve my player (the best I can - haven't missed one yet). #TPEWhore

  16. Blake has recently spoken out about the upcoming draft and his thoughts on himself, his play and other things general managers and VHL scouts may be interested in. At this time, his agent says he;s fairly calm about the situation, however, often shows signs of excitement. Last week, Blake Campbell posted pictures of his bedroom where he posted every single teams posters on the wall. His agent had this to say: 174 words P.s GM's check out the article in the Media Spot section. Feel free to PM me, always available and willing to answer your questions. Thanks!
  17. Blake Campbell posing for his "sexy" draft pose. Once a name that very few knew, he has now established himself a little better within the VHLM and the VHL community and is being looked at by numerous teams come the S44 VHL entry draft. Where he'll go he's not to sure but there is one thing he knows and that's that he's ready for whatever is to come. He's stood with pride, composure and dedication which is all backed up by the tremendous amount of work he's done and luckily for the GM's who are picking early, he's here to have a brief sit down with us so that the GM's are able to get to know one of the leagues best up and coming goalies. Ladies, gentlemen, general managers, scout and players with interest throughout the VHL, Minot Gladiators goalie, Blake Campbell. Before we ask you any questions Blake, we want to get the viewers a basic breakdown of your player and the skill and effort that you truly bring to the table. Blake Campbell was born in Denver, Colorado and is brother to Dalla Stars young goalie Jack Campbell. He wears the number 33 on his back because it's the reason his favorite all-time goalie Patrick Roy had worn. He stands at 75 inches, 198 pounds and has the agility and speed of a Cheetah. His dedication to the game, although he has been here a short time, has been absolutely outstandings as he has yet to miss a Point Task. He credits growing up as a hockey fan and lover to his recent success. Now, for the question period. ED44 --> Entry Draft 44 BC - Blake Campbell ED44 says - Thank you Blake for joining us for this brief interview regarding the up and coming draft. Let's get straight down to business and not waste time as time is precious. What made you come to the VHL? BC says - To be honest, a new alternative - a completely different environment. I've been a member of the SHL since S4 and we've currently are heading into S22. I love the league but wanted something new so that I could still have the love and enjoyment I do for the leagues. So I decided to give the VHL a try. ED44 says - And what are your thoughts on the VHL so far? BC says - It's a different experience that's for sure. I don't overly want to say which I prefer because it's obvious. I've put much more time into the SHL but I really do enjoy the VHL also. There's some great guys here who have offered a helping hand along the way and have stated they're excited to see where I take my player. It's been great and I'm just thankful they were so welcoming to me during my early stage. ED44 says - Awesome. During your early stages eh? Where are you at now? BC says - Obviously It's still fairly early but I've already progressed so much. As you stated above, I've yet to miss an opportunity to better myself and I truly hope to keep it that way for as long as possible. I'm really focusing on just becoming the best I can be because that's a huge goal and motivator for myself. I want to be the best. I will be the best. There is no try because trying means having the intent to potentially fail. ED44 says - What are some things you'd like to say to the GM's? BC says - I don't want to come off as cocky. I want to come off as confident and reassuring as I want whoever drafts me to feel full confidence in their choice. I came into this league and told everyone I was here to do damage and make myself into a great player and although we're quite a ways away from being great, I've come a long way in a short period of time. You have to remember I joined quite a bit later than most of my fellow prospects but I'm already pushing up against them and I hope they're feeling the pressure. ED44 says - Are there any specific teams you'd like to go to? BC says - One time has contacted me so far and out of respect for myself and that organization, I will not release who it was. They can do so if they wish to but I will keep it quiet to protect their choice. However, that team is the one I am most interested in right now because they want me potentially and if they have the confidence and desire to have me, they must believe in me. Anyone who puts belief in me is only going to see amazing results. Keep in mind though that I will play for anybody but this team is very exciting to me. I want to be a starter. I'm fine with earning it, but I want to break through, steal his job and make a name for myself in the big leagues. Juniors mean nothing for me. It's time for development and that's it. I'm focused on the VHL. ED44 says - Perfect. Last question. Any thoughts on a mask idea for when you're up in the big leagues? BC says - I am a big fan of wolves, specifically black ones. I want a mask that resembles that. They're powerful, amazing, strong creatures that in my opinion and truly respected. They're also predators and you don't fuck with them, excuse my french. So when I get up to the big leagues, expect the big bad wolf to break out and blow some houses down. WOLF OUT!
  18. Thanks man! hahaha, I'm sorry you had to read this. I honestly had nothing so I went with wherever the wind was directing me. Keeping it interesting to say the least!
  19. TMZ has recently reported that Minot Gladiators goalie has officially been on the receiving end of... well.. God taking a dump on him, We hate to be harsh but it's true. In the latest episode of Maury, host Maury Povich tricks Blake Campbell into thinking he's on an episode of "Behind the Mask". Although Maury goes along with the act for the majority of the show, he finally pops the big news and you would not believe it! Reports are saying that Campbell had immediately dropped to the floor, shit his pants and his facial skin colour turned ghost white. Paramedics who are trained for this situation quickly rushed into the talk room, threw him up on a stretcher and had taken him to the hospital. Although he is doing okay now, you DO NOT want to miss this story. If you missed the episode, check it out here and until next time, keep dishing us that dirt. http://www.vhlforum.com/index.php?/topic/16462-behind-the-mask/ 158 words. I apologize for this.
  20. Blake Campbell is about to get the surprise of his life. Is it what you think? I think it's safe to say that everyone has an understanding of just how difficult the job is for a goaltender in any league. Each and every night, the team expects their teams to score but without a solid goalie, you're team is very unlikely to be making a competitive push. Teams can struggle to score goals and still find a way out on top because of great goaltending, but it's more harder to win games if you can score but your goalies five hole is bigger than the Grand Canyon. During this episode of Behind the mask, we take a look at one of the newest top goalies to hit the VHLm and truly get the know the real him. I mean, behind that mask there is a person that is in complete control - even with a frozen piece of plastic coming at his face going 80 miles per hour. We'e going to find out what his favorite things are to do, who he is as a person and really unmask one of the hottest young goalies. Without further delay, let's begin. Behind the Mask = BTM BK = BK Talk show host has a sit down with Minot goalie Blake Campbell BTM says - Welcome to the show Blake, we're delighted to have you here. Are you ready for some serious unmasking? BK says - Thank you for having me. I will try my best to give you the best, most truthful answers possible. BTM says - Okay, perfect! Let's begin. First off, I guess it's the best thing to ask, what made you become a goalie? BK says - Well, my brother Jack is currently a netminder for the Texas Stars and was drafted by the Dallas Stars not too long ago. As kids, we always used to compete in the basement with mini sticks and that really got a rivalry going between us. As we got older, we got more involved in sports and he became a goalie, I became a defenseman. After a while, I got tired of the position and wanted more of a challenge. I switched to goalie, really flourished in the position and began to love it. It's been great since. BTM says - Sounds like you and your brother had quite the relationship growing up and that the inner competition between you guys led you into making a very positive choice for yourself as it led you to the VHL. When you came to the league, you weren't picked up right away, but the Minot Gladiators eventually picked you up. How does that make you feel? BK says - You know, I don't really understand the situation to be honest. I don't think many teams needed goalies and then when Minot seen me sitting there for so long they kind of went after me because of that reason. That may have been the reason then, and we got a great starter now, but I like to think I've come a long way since then. BTM says - Yes, you have come quite far in a short period of time. You're already catching up to some of the VHLm's top goalies and you joined weeks later than most of them. What feeling does this give you? BK says - It feels good. I came into the league and told the general managers my plan. I said I know I'm late and others have a head start, but It wouldn't be a wrong decision to choose me. Especially those who are in the professional leagues as GM's rather than the juniors. I might be far behind, but I'm a guarantee. I've worked very hard and am making other players maybe take notice. I'm here to do damage and have yet to miss anything important regarding my own development. Yes, it is hard sometimes to maintain consistency, but so far so good. BTM says - Right on. You're on fire and the GM's must think you're a hot target. Speaking of which, any lady friends in Minot right now? BK says - I'm not going to deny that I have dipped the D in a couple puddles but for now, I'm focusing on the big leagues. I'm nothing right now. Juniors honestly mean nothing to me. It's my own gateway drug to the big leagues and let me tell you, I'm addicted, haha. There's also no point getting serious as I'm just going to relocate anyways. BTM say, True and fair enough. Last question as we've run out of time. Backstage we have a woman who came to us. This isn't your average show Blake. In fact, it's not overly a "Behind the Mask" episode either. We kind of tricked you as this is something totally different. Like we said, we have a woman backstage and she claims to have met you in a bar, you beat her with a phone book until she passed out you took her home, ordered pizza, watched the Mighty Ducks movies with her, fell asleep on your recliner and you both had "sleep sex" together. She woke up after you and felt something strange. She pulled a balloon out of her vagina filled with your DNA. We did the tests and guess what? YOU ARE THE FATHER of little Jamal Mathers. What are your feelings on this? BK doesn't respond. He's rushed to the hospital and medical professional believed he had a minor heart attack. He is recovering fine, will be able to play ASAP and even got a visit from his boy Jamal.

  23. Just Checking In - Blake Campbell Update It's been officially a month since the young stud goalie who goes by the name Blake Campbell has entered the league. Since then, he has made quite the name for himself by earning and training each week consistently and to full capacity. On top of that, the young goalie has also made himself fairly week known to quite a few major and junior hockey league teams within the VHL community as it is his goal to become known and be known for only good, positive and successful reasons. As time slowly paces forward and the league is growing closer and closer to playoffs, Blake too continues on in this pattern. We know every time we write, he's all we talk about but we want to make sure you and the general managers don't make the mistake of over looking him. He had a later start than a majority of the leagues top prospects, but he's quickly catching up and putting the pressure on. So without further delay, let's take another look and give you an update on where he's at now and what you can expect based off his past and current performance. Player Development - A+ We know what you're thinking. Isn't "A+" maybe a little too much for somebody who just came into the league? The answer to that question is no and here's why. This guy came into the league on a mission and told the league what he plans to do. He stated that he's here to do business, that he wants to see himself grow into a successful, consistent goalie as fast as possible and would work extremely hard in order to do that. He has't missed a single practice since he's got here, had made a small donation to the league in order to better himself in the long run (4 double weeks instead of 3) and has been extremely consistent when it comes to completing every single task that is laid out for him to do. There's only one true question and that is: How long can he keep it up? Surely his work has been amazing up until this point but can he really continue to work at this pace? We surely hope so! Blake Campbell's development stats: Total TPE: 93 (reminder that this is a hope +12 double) How many tasks has he missed? NONE. What is he working on? Agility (70), RBC (56), Size (52), Hand Speed (45), Style Control (45) He's FINALLY got some starts and... ouch? For the longest time that he can remember, Blake Campbell was begging and pleading the Minot Gladiator's management to put him in and let him show the fans what he can bring to the table. Numerous times, admits Minot general manager Enigma, that he caught young Blake Campbell outside his window late at night with a boom box shouting the song "Centerfield" by John Fogerty. It seems like after the third time the Minot local police department took the young goalie home, his wish was finally granted. Blake currently sports a record of 5-6-4 with a fairly high goals against average of 5.22. Although his team sits outside the final playoff position 5 points back and his play hasn't been exactly amazing, he's still extremely grateful for the opportunity and only takes it as a lesson to improve himself. Blake Campbell's S41 Stats 15 GP - 5 W - 6 L - 4 OTL - 5.22 GAA - .884 SV% So, what can we expect from all of this? It's obviously still a little premature to tell whether or not he's going to become an elite goalie. For all new players, there's always a gamble and risk involved when it comes to drafting them, however, he has proven to be a very strong pick and asset for any team that decides to pick him. We expect him to continue on like this for as long as he can push himself. General managers, don't be afraid to pick this guy as soon as possible in the draft because we promise you you will regret it. Especially if you need a goalie and choose to risk it in hopes he's there the next round. We predict him to become elite! - 805 words,
