    VHLM Expansion

It doesn't devalue the draft, you just need to draft smarter. The NHL has 31 teams and the draft is super valuable, and the SHL has 16 teams (I think) and their draft is also valuable. I wouldn't talk about devaluing the draft when you have an extra pick
  2. I'll make a team full of mini Dahlberg's, I'll find my vhlm build from the old index lmao
  3. I'll apply for the team, you already know but I'm the AGM of the Ottawa Lynx (but do everything ). I've been the 2nd longest active AGM I think, but I've also been a GM in the World Cup, World Juniors, and a GM for the WJC in the SHL. I'm also a brand exec as my title suggests. So I think I'm probably the most qualified here edit: forgot to add that I'm HO in SLL
  4. At least NYA was in the playoffs guys
  5. Let's go Vancouver! Cup favorites this season
  6. beav sucks cant even make playoffs and had davos do better than him

  9. yeah I got that, didn't know it meant drunk lol
  10. dahlberg immediately makes the S64 the best of all time
  11. he's pretty vocal in Ottawa discord. He's one of Esso's friends and was why we took him in the VHLM
  12. he was MIA for 2 weeks. Think he said he was getting super busy in life. But if he does come back its a total steal
  13. Seems like part of that issue is goalies then. Goalies in the VHL don't have the same TPE levels as the forwards, so it makes sense that they wouldn't be as good. So with the new update scale they'd need to have a less harsher one, or a cap that isn't as hard. You could also use this cap and add "archetypes" to the VHL. It would add some more flavor and thinking to the build, instead of just everyone having the main attributes capped out. Could have a playmaker archetype, with a scoring cap of 70. Or take it in another direction and have strengths/weaknesses, which would use a harsher/easier update scale if its a strength or weakness
  14. So couldn't we just adjust current attributes and update scale? You'd do some math or something with the old update scale, and convert the amount of TPE you spent in that attribute to TPE spent in that attribute with the new scale. So if you spent 10 tpe to get scoring from 40 --> 50, and the new update would be 2 tpe per point from 40 --> 50 you'd have 45 scoring after that.
  15. like 15, only the expansion team + like 5 spots on other teams. Some teams will need to play 3 lines, but contenders who have that issue will play the 3rd line very little. Expansion will probably happen again next season too. Both
  16. I like this. The main problems from moving to v3 from v1 is the unrealistic stats. If we add fatigue and injuries, along with the 3-4 line system we would be able to realisticly have v3, with the same stats that we have now. With injuries and fatigue we could add in durability and endurance as upgradeable stats, making for more very builds (do you sacrifice your scoring ability to not get tired as much?) Endurance works well with the 3-4 line system as well, depending on the players endurance it will factor into the line they play.) Making injuries max 2 games would work as well, and have a randomizer spun once a week to determine who is injured and who isn't and durability will factor into the chances of being injured. In the player store you could buy "randomizer immunity" for say 1 million. Overall I really think this is worth looking into
  17. I would, thats one of the biggest things I like about SHL. You have to earn your minutes, and even then the GM's play with lines and have more room for that with 3 lines. Speaking of which, entry contract should be a max of 3 seasons, not a required 3 seasons. If you sign 1 season you become an RFA, if you sign 2-3 you become a UFA. Discord LR's are pretty active, at least the ones im in (Ottawa and Davos) Can't wait for S76 with 32 VHL teams and 46 VHLM teams. Expansion Very close again, won't be suprised if theres another expansion on the horizon. Anyway, here's my ideal plan. Personally I believe that the VHL system should be changed to add a college system. With that the VHLM would become similar to the AHL, and the VHL would stay the same. NCAA players would play 4 seasons with a 200 tpe cap, then "uncap" where they play a season where they can apply past 200 tpe. They then get drafted to the VHL where the VHL team decides if they want to send them down to the VHLM, or keep them in the VHL. NCAA would also have "fillers" who are second players that people would create if they want too, and could only earn up to 50 tpe a season on them, then retire them after their senior NCAA year. Now obviously I don't see this happening next season, or even in the near future, but this could happen in 15ish seasons before the point of each the VHL and VHLM having 30 teams each. This system would also be delayed if the number of lines expands. The benefits of this system are that players, especially new ones wouldn't complain about ice time, since they could be playing top minutes in the VHLM, whereas they'd be playing 3rd line minutes in the VHL. Also prevents the need for adding more teams every season. And theres probably a ton of other benefits that I just can't think of right now. Cons are obviously more teams are needed. the problem of what happens if recruitment dies down, and what happens to VHL career lengths or what to do with that since people would waste years in the VHLM. Overall I think that expanding the lines would bring a nice change of pace, and more diversity for strategies and lines in the VHL.
