Review: The Nighthawks logo is already very bold and it is easy to see that you didn't try to shy away from the team's original vibe while making these player badges. I like that you worked to get a font that looks similar to the the one used in the original VHL logo and even managed to get the text shading to look very similar. The attention to detail really took me by surprise but if I had to mention one flaw it is that other than the names on these badges their is nothing that sets one apart form the other. I mean nothing that denotes their position of even if they are a captain or an assistant captain. That being said i realize the uniformity might be intentional and arguably that any team would want their badges to be pretty simple and uniform, if not for cost reasons then to also show their is no favoritism going on for any individual player. Use of colour: 9/10 (Nothing too out of the box but it does get the job done and scream nighthawks) Visual interest: 9/10 (I mean these are all very uniform clean graphics together they make a really nice team collection but could use a bit of individual identity) Attention to detail: 10/10 ( All the small details are very on in this image and from badge to badge their is a real uniformity and style) Overall appeal: 10/10 any kind of graphic that makes me wish i was on the team is a winner in my books Final Score 9.5/ 10 Stop being so damn good at graphics Shark

When I was 13 my sister and I were on the same hockey team, a forward on another team started to shit talk me ( the goalie). My sister was a very calm personality and had the least penalty minutes in our league. That being said, she laid that girl flat on her back with one move. If i ever make a D-Man I’ll have to name her after my sister because with that one move I knew my sister would always have my back. So there are some warm and fluffy hockey feels for the VHL’s 13th Birthday ?

Some Random ones How long does it take you to scroll through the VHL feed before giving up? What VHL team do you just hate the most? why? What’s your favourite thing to order in? Pogs, generically called milk caps, is a game that was popular among children during the early-mid 1990s. @Spaz they were pretty collectable and they did a NHL themed collection a few times.

Prague is a little fruity… There is an absurd story that reached the presses today involving one of the most beloved VHL franchises. For those of you who are not familiar with the scandal it is an odd one. The story starts with a quick tweet from GM Jason Glasser @diamond_ace announcing that his team had hired a new staff to “help fill in some organizational gaps and fill an important team need”. This message robustly welcomed this new staff member to the phantom’s family but gave extraordinarily little in formation as to why he was hired. And while this behavior is typical for a GM it is easy to see it was a nice gesture from the spooky GM with a golden heart to the new guy but it also got twitter buzzing trying to get more information. This is where the story starts to take a turn into left field, after a few generic messages from fans being supportive there was a response from one woman that would take the hockey world by storm. “I think that is the guy who sells me fruit from his roadside kiosk.” That simple sentence was enough to get people asking questions. Things only got weirder as twitter, ever the investigative community was able to confirm that Riley Rivers was in fact both the man that was hired by the VHL franchise and “The Fruit Guy” When asked why the organization chose to hire such an odd candidate Glasser only replied that Rivers was uniquely suited to fill a specific need of the Phantoms. Apparently, the Phantoms are obsessed with good food and in particular you guessed it… good fruit. It seems the team is just can’t get by without the good stuff and Glasser himself admits to being on the same bus as his team. All I can say is we wish these fruity Phantoms well as they prepare for their next season, and who knows maybe perfectly ripe peaches will lead them to their first cup win, I mean a GM can dream right?
