  1. I saw hogan write about this and took his idea, but I will make it different. Lets start from the beginning, shall we? @DilIsPickle was selected seventh overall by the Calgary Wranglers in S64, a draft in which they picked up superstar netminder Brick Wahl in the second round. Calgary took Mark Gebaurer fourth overall as well, but he would later be traded to Moscow for Elasmobranch Fish. Dil was also hired as the New York AGM in a time when @Spade18 started to fall out of the VHL loop. Dil started acting as Interim GM for New York in S66, and they made the playoffs as the third seed in the NA, and had to take on Vancouver. In Game 6, long time New York American hater @eaglesfan036 scored the series winning goal in overtime to defeat Dil for the first time. But wait, it wasn't over yet. His beloved Calgary Wranglers were waiting for Vancouver in the next round. In Game 7, double overtime, Shawn Glade would send Vancouver to their first finals appearance since they moved from Quebec. Dil was 0-2 against the Wolves so far. It doesn't end there. The very next year, S67, Dil no longer was in charge of NY. He was loyal to Calgary, and guess who they faced in round one the next year? Vancouver. It went seven games again, but this time, things ended differently. Just kidding. Dil lost again in game 7 overtime, this time to a goal scored by Ben Hafkey. Dil was truly on suicide watch after this, as he left no comments on this game post. This brings us to glorious S68. S68 might be the most hilarious moment in VHL history. Dil, long time Wrangler, who was incredibly loyal, was traded to his arch-rival team in the Wolves, who had beat him in back to back game 7 overtimes. He was very upset and even retired, until everyone yelled at him and then he unretired. Guess who matches up with the Wolves in round one? The Wranglers, dil's old team. The emotions were flying high, and it was pushed to a game 7. Wouldn't you know it, the Calgary Wranglers pulled out the victory in game 7 without dil. Dil is now 0-4 in playoff series and has never won a playoff series as far as I can remember. Dil losing to his old team is truly poetic. This time though, he wouldn't go down silently. His tirade in discord was unlike anything I have ever seen (not including the vhlm gm discord channel, of course). Sadly I don't have any screenshots but it was quite the spectacle, I can assure you. So what's next for Dil? He signed a contract extension with Calgary last offseason after he made everyone think that he was leaving. He is stuck on Vancouver for the time being. His change to defense will most likely pair him alonside Jagger Philliefan, who is an absolute unit. Kudoes to @Philliefan for absolutely killing it this year, and maybe helping me win my fantasy league. Unfortunately I also picked myself as the third forward and I sucked, so I'm hoping Kastelic and RSJ outweigh my player enough for me to finish top 3 in the league.
  2. 1. Seattle, although we definitely will end up facing them it seems. The NA was quite weak this year and Seattle is a solid team. In our few games against Seattle I believe we were 2-1 but that's off the top of my head. We got outshot badly in one, maybe two of those games. Also, if we lose to them, kinda not so good considering we have the only thing in the vhl that can be considered a rivalry. 2. I respect Ryan Kastelic because he helped me a lot in fantasy this year, but I respect Rauno Palo. With Vancouver, he had them right up with Seattle for the first seed in the NA, then was traded, Vancouver fell down the standings a little while Riga started to surge and almost won the victory cup. 3. Benny Graves and Guy Lesiur. Graves is a well known asset and is a possible #1 pick, but Lesiur may be slightly less well known. His TPE totals are certainly not jaw dropping, but he will stay in the minors next year and is super active in discord. 4. I always love the orange and blue combo, maybe because I'm an Islanders fan. I just love that color scheme, although I think Malmo's logo is very good as well. 5. Yeah, but I'm fine with it. I know my player won't be breaking records or making it to the HOF, so I'm cool with team success. My stats obviously suffered but I'm looking to really make a mark on the VHL next season. Although that's what I've said the last three seasons or so 6. I would like 80 points. My career high is 74 and this year I took a step back. Hoping I can bounce back on the top line with RSJ and be a beast
  3. it may have happened once before, but we aren't sure. It has never happened in the VHL though. This could be a first
  4. you have been too nice lately. Are you ok? Is something wrong
  5. Good series @InstantRockstar, you had me scared there for a while. Hard fought series
  6. I think if it was a random member he wouldn’t say anything but since it’s Shawn he must be publicly humiliated
  7. thanks for the shoutout during the vsn segment
  8. Editors weren't good in the past since it often times just delayed articles, and no one on VSN has major grammar issues (hopefully)
  9. lines sent. This is gonna be a wild playoffs
  10. 1. Who is the Aces MVP this year? 2. We face the Marlins in round one- do you like our chances? 3. How has the season been for you? Have you enjoyed your time in Vegas? 4. Did your player satisfy your expectations? Or did they underperform? 5. Most of you guys are going to the VHL next year. What team do you want to play for/are you excited to play for your VHL team if you were already drafted? 6. At the end of the year, we have a team awards show. Besides the obvious awards, what weird awards do you want to be given out?
  11. #GustavMustav for VSN

  12. I think the reason it went down to 2 is because their isn't as much HOF talent at the moment to be doing 2 per year. With the increased use of depth players, it will likely get harder to get into the hall unless we rethink the standards that we usually go by
  13. I used to do historical VHL articles for VSN, and I occasionally still do. I think it's really interesting to look at that type of stuff, and I learned a lot. My absolute favorite player from the S20s has to be Markus Strauss @gregreg. He was a beast for Seattle, and was really solid for Davos in their cup run. The Davos vs Toronto rivalry in the early S20s was great, but I always wanted Davos to pull through. Aiden Shaw vs Daisuke Kanou is the best goaltender rivalry ever, hands down. I also like Mattias Chouinard at the time, especially since he is on the hall of fame ballot right now. His case is very interesting, with 3 cups and an incredibly stat line to go with it. Getting inducted 40 seasons after retiring is probably a record, although I know another dude went a long time without making it and then finally did. His first name was Felix, I think. Can't remember his last name. I also am very annoyed that @.sniffuM goalie from the S20s, once again can't remember the name, I think Bjorkman or something? He should be in the hall imo, or at least have gotten more consideration. We also have Peyton Nydroj, who is likely forever stuck in VHL Purgatory, the hall of very good. That's it and I'm out.
  14. What's the greatest rivalry in VHL history? All I can think of is S43 Bears vs Calgary, but is there anything else

  16. I'm not worried. Welcome to the team!
  17. Hello @zepheter! I am the Las Vegas Aces GM! Glad you have decided to come back. It's been a while since you created this player, but I would wait a little before accepting, to see if other GMs want to throw out offers. Las Vegas has possibly the best roster in the VHL. We have by far the most goals for, and are fourth in goals against. We are serious title contenders this year, and the only thing we lack is goaltending, which we will begin to make up the difference come playoff time. I'll be blunt, we can't offer much playing time. Only third line minutes and some powerplay time, but minimal special teams play. However, we can offer a lot of members on our team that are a great mix of first gens and returning members, and would be more than willing to help out with your player. So what do you say Zeph? We can offer you a solid combo of playing time+contention. If you want more playing time, wait for other offers. But if you want to win, Vegas is where you want to go. Good luck with your decision, and if you are interested, quote this and say "Accept" -Matt O
