  1. i saw you post in this thread without realizing it was an old thread and was like ?
  2. It’s all part of the plan...
  3. Malmo vs Seattle final? That would be wild
  4. I'm pretty sure I even asked Shawn about hiring you and you said no. I'm not 100% on this but I'm pretty sure this happened.
  5. Simply taking a quik look at the VHL standings shows an obvious inbalance. Each conference has four playoff teams, and conference crossover was eliminated after last season. The European Conference has the top four teams in the league, while the North American Conference holds the 4th, 5th, 7th and 8th best teams. Is there a problem with this? I will be looking at the two most glaring examples (Seattle and Moscow) to determine whether or not the playoff system is unfair. Seattle Bears- 1st in NA, would be 5th in EU Seattle started the season off hot, but many wrote them off since they had a very easy schedule. Turns out they are for real, with goaltender Rayz Funk putting up elite stats and the team putting their amazing depth to use. However, them being in the North American Conference certainly helps them out. If they were in the European Conference, they would be sitting in fifth place, one point out of a playoff spot. You can even make the argument that they would be even further out of a spot, since they would have had a much tougher schedule if they were in the European Conference. This isn't a slide at Seattle, they are a good team. Their strong S67 draft class has brought them to this point, headlined by Acyd Burn, Rayz Funk, and Hulk Hogan. But at the same time, this is a glaring issue. How can a team be first in it's conference, and clinch the playoffs, when they wouldn't even be in a playoff spot in the European Conference? Moscow Menace- 5th in EU, would be 2nd in NA Moscow sits seven points out of a playoff spot, even though they would be second place in the North American Conference had they been there. You can also make the argument they would have a better record, because they would of had an easier schedule up to this point if they were in the NA. It doesn't look like Moscow will make the playoffs. If they were in the NA, their playoff chances would be at 99%, barring a historic collapse. There is something wrong with this. Low Division and the Shaw Division Divisions barely matter, and only come into play when it comes to scheduling. That being said, it is interesting to look at these two. While the other two divisions are fairly balanced, these two are both very polarizing. The Shaw Division consists of Davos, Malmo, and Helsinki. Those three teams are the three top teams in the VHL. The Low Division has New York, Toronto, and DC. Those are three of the four worst teams in the league. Divisions have little impact, but this is something interesting to look at. As it stands right now, Davos and Riga are tied for third in the EU. Both teams would be first place in the NA. One of those teams will have to face the victory cup winning team, whether it's Malmo or Helsinki. If they were in the NA, they would be taking on a Toronto team that is likely at the end of it's cup window, or a Calgary team that blew it up, effectively a free ride to the Conference Finals. Is this fair? Let us know what you think.
  6. @GustavMattias send in the controversy, it's been 7 whole hours since the last incident
  7. I appreciate the write up, but I in fact wrote quik correctly and it autocorrected
  8. Recently Vancouver made a huge splash by acquiring the S66 first overall pick Hunter Hearst Helmsley. They had to give up last seasons MVP in Rauno Palo, as well as a first round pick, in order to secure HHH's talents. HHH has struggled to begin his career, with a decent rookie year, and then a decent sophomore season. He is playing better this season, and has picked up his pace after the trade, but still is underachieving. Palo, on the other hand, had four straight mediocre seasons before breaking out in S66 with 83 points. He followed it up with a 110 point campaign, taking home multiple awards. This season he had a really strong start to the year and has kept that up, but is only on pace for 100 points this year. Matt Thompson is likely to lead the league in points this year. Who won the trade? It really depends on HHH's production. TPE totals or not, if HHH can't play at the level he should be playing, Riga comes away the winner of this trade. They get one and a half years of a superstar, and a first round pick in the S69 draft, which has a handful of elite returning members. If HHH caps out with 80 points per season in his prime, Riga can walk away the winners of the deal, as long as their first round pick isn't a bust.
  9. Because you aren't a clown anymore
  10. Mexico City is different than what him and esso did in Ottawa. Just because he is barely in the playoffs now means nothing about what happened in Ottawa right before Acyd came in. Acyd’s a good GM, but most of the picks were acquired by Esso. Kind of like how oilmandan acquired most of the S68 picks I used for Vegas in this past draft
  11. Everyone go see Joker right now. It's amazing. Joaquin Phoenix deserves the Best Actor award and Joker should be nominated for Best Picture at least. Go see it, it is amazing
  12. @Nykonax has been moved to S tier. He has a big brain and is a normal person now. @DilIsPickle has been moved to S+ tier for obvious reasons @ColeMrtz has been moved to A tier. @Walter Fizz has been moved to A tier
  13. All time best VHL memory? Who is your favorite guy on Malmo?
  14. I know his player name (Alessandro Rodriguez) only because he complained to me when I was the USA WJC GM and he was on the third line
  15. 1. How was your time in Mexico City? 2. What were you thinking when you were asked about possibly playing in Vegas? 3. How has your experience been so far with Vegas? 4. What kind of player would you like to make? 5. Any VHL teams that you would prefer to go to in the upcoming draft? 6. Who is your Favorite VHL member
  16. will this be updated in similar fashion to the Clown Tier List?
  17. Hello @Beketov, and welcome to the VHL! I am the Las Vegas Aces GM. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! Nah im kidding. Come to the Aces for a shot at the cup and third line center time. It’s fun here!
