@BladeMaiden came on and we had a plan that went up in smoke (out of my control) which was okay. It is what it is. It’s likely better this way. She knows my thoughts and 100% of everything. 
 
I wanted to send her back to Prague for free but the portal will not allow me to do that. Wanted to help @diamond_ace during his final run, make sure their relationship is good without any bad blood or looking back on negativity between the two despite saying there isn’t any (this will ensure it 100%)
 
Basically just wanted to help Prague, DA and Blade out.

It seems this old man is rather good at going through the help, since I joined the blue team I've seen at least 5 different commishes come and go. Am I cursed? Who knows. What I do know is that the commish team historically runs best as a three headed beast and with @Quik officially moving into the light blue realm that means we need a new head on this hydra to join @bigAL and I.
 
So, we discussed it, and came to the most natural conclusion that it's high time @Josh gets called up to the "big leagues" since he's been pretty much batting in them for awhile now. Does this metaphor still make sense? I'm not really sure. What I am sure of is that we appreciate all the time Quik put into the league and hope to see Josh do great things in the role as I'm sure he will! So, say hello to your new antichrist Commissioner Josh!

The day is Thursday the first day of the WJC Team Canada and Team World are tied in the shot out
Omi Aberg skating up the ice, shoots, he got the Goal, now all we need is Tobias Reinhart to make a save and team world wins the game, Jonathan Ori shoots, SAVE, ITS A SAVE…. And team worl…. 
Little did anybody know that team world wouldn’t slow down from there.
Team world would go own on to beat team USA and face off against Europe in gold, Europe a team everybody fears, 
In the first period, it was back and fourth  Team Europe, Sven Eightnine first 1-0 Team World, Tyler Reinhart 1-1 Team Europe, Otto Numminen 2-1 Team World, Omi Aberg 2-2 following period ones score fest cam period two a defence party, with team world being the only to get on the board with a goal from Jerome Reinhart 3-2(world),
Next came the third and final period, team world up by one with 20 minutes left to get gold, everybody was worried on both sides then 
11 seconds into the third Tyler Reinhart score the game-winner and everybody and team world could breathe again, two more goals were scored that game one from each team (Team World, Ryan Li, Team Europe Arvid Johansson) final score was 5-3 team world now comes the fun part

Thank everybody who supported team world, chatted in the locker room, as my first gm experience this was awesome, I can’t wait to see some of you around or on my future teams, I had one goal in the WJC and it was to get a medal and we did just that. A story book ending for a team of reinharts, with all of them being too old for the WJC next season, I’m glad to have such an awesome support group and want to thank @Alex_J32 for believing in me and @rjfrymanand @Banackock for the chance at GMing

The 3rd Jersey looks neat and is not overembroidered, which I like. And while black and orange are not necessarily my favourite colours (and I am aware that this is a matter of taste), I think they complement each other fairly well and go well together. I probably would have added a smaller version of the reaper on the shoulder, but then again this might have been too much. All in all a very solid alternate Jersey and well done.
 
I'd say 8/10.

Swiss Central Gazzette
 
The past season as well as post season was a mixed bag for the Janser brothers. While their team was not very successful, the Janser's were amongst the league's best in their respective positions and took on responsibility on and off the ice. They also developed into better players during their stay in the Brigade College and honed their skillsets accordingly. One could argue that being part of a team which despite epic battles is more often on the losing side than winning, that such an experience, if it does not break you, makes you stronger. The latter appears to be the case with our local heroes.
 
We are proud to announce, that Marcel as well as Daniel attracted the attention of the Mississauga Hounds, a Canada-based VHLM-Franchise and were drafted by the Ontario team as 36th (Daniel) and 40th (Marcel) overall.
 
Our Canadian correspondent, Jean-Luc Lieuperroux, got in touch with the brothers and received the following statements:
 
Daniel: 'We are very excited to be picked that early, when clearly more talented players were still available. We did not expect to be drafted after only one season of College icehockey, let alone to be drafted in the same team.'
Marcel: 'I think we were able to convince Mississauga's scouts by our work ethics, determination and that we put our body on the line to help the team'
 
Marcel and Dan are both very excited for their move to Ontario and started packing as soon as they were drafted.
 
Dan: 'I booked tickets to the Lester B. Pearson Airport the same night and Marcel was busy getting rooms in a hotel in the area. We could not help but notice that the closest airport to our new team is called after the trophy for the best player in the league, elected by their peers (now the Ted Lindsay award). We are grateful for the opportunity and the trust put in us by the Hounds and will do our best to justify same.'
 
Marcel: 'We will say our farewells to our Brigade mates and coaching staff, from which we learned a lot in the past season. We would be sorely amiss not to extend our thanks to all members of the Brigade family for their warm welcome. We profited immensely from the professionalism and knowledge in that organization.'
 
The Swiss Hitmen will report for training camp on Monday and are looking forward to meet their new (and old) team mates. 
 
Marcel and Daniel will re-unite with Nayt Berard, with whom they played for the Brigade.
 
The brothers said, that they wish all the best to Towbaker (5th overall) and Karjalainen (7th overall) who were drafted in the first round by Ottawa and Yukon respectively.
'They are very talented players and sure will be an asset to their teams. But there will be no favours, once they play against us. We know most of their tricks and will do what it takes to stop them from scoring against us '. Marcel's defense partner Harry Hagel was drafted 32nd by Halifax. The brothers agreed that they were very surprised that Brendan Marner (one of the most talented draft-eligible players) was only picked at 44th by Ottawa and that his was a steal. 
 
Last but not least, Mike Hroch was chosen by Houston on 25th. 'He will like it there', said Dan. 'He never liked the cold that much and Houston has a climate which is much more agreeable to him. We wondered how a guy who chose to play icehockey can feel so bad about cold weather.'
 
The brothers ended the interview with a remark that it was late and that they have a plane to catch in the morning.

Hey Everyone!
 
So, this will probably come as a shock to most of you, but I haven't really been around much lately. I touched a bit on this when we announced Al as the newest Commissioner, which was 2 months ago, that I was going through some changes in my personal life that meant less time for the league. Initially, this was meant to be temporary, as I settled into a new phase in my career, hoping to return to full activity as a part of the Commissioner team in this great community that I've devoted thousands of hours to over the past decade and a half. However, after a couple of months, it's become clear that I will no longer be able to put in the time necessary to be a contributing member of the Commish team.
 
It's been a wild ride, and I'll be forever grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the leadership in the VHL. Thank you to everyone I've interacted with for being part of the journey, and if I haven't interacted with you, thank you, as well, if for nothing other than being part of the league.

I still remember when I rai- ok partly raised that guy in Vegas.

Still hasn't really sunk in that Letang is done, especially with the season he just had and still chatting in LA. He frustrated me every season and made me want to retire early up until the last  one, and it was worth it tbh. Hopefully Nico won't take as long to get good lol.

Nico Pearce is finally approaching his first professional hockey draft, and surprisingly, there's a decent amount of drama and confusion about how it'll all go down. According to VHL/E/M staffers, all three leagues are likely to hold their drafts from Friday, September 17th and Sunday, September 19th, making it very soon. However, Nico still does not know whether he'll be playing in the VHLM next season, or if he will bypass the developmental league in an effort to face more staunch competition in the VHLE. He doesn't have the prerequisite experience to participate in the VHLE, but a decision is expected to come from the league offices by Sunday night if the young Greek will be allowed to participate in the inaugural VHLE season. However, scouts had the following scouting report for Nico:
 
Strengths:
 
Shot: The formerly undersized winger certainly understood that his ticket to success came from his offensive capabilities, as the 6'2 winger has developed a nasty wrist shot and an above-average slap shot that makes him a lethal sniper.
 
Puck Handling: As mentioned earlier, Pearce developed strong puck skills due to a lack of size in college and has very soft hands for his size, allowing him to maneuver through a crowd with relative ease. He finds ways to get past defenders with clever stick handling and can use his hands to keep the puck away from defenders as well.
 
IQ: Pearce generally finds his way into the right spot on the ice and his positioning is quite decent, both offensively and defensively. He finds ways to pressure opponents when in his own zone and avoids taking penalties due to a lack of an overly aggressive style.
 
Weaknesses:
 
Speed: A forward growing into his body causes issues with speed. Pearce still hasn't fully adjusted to his new size, and his stride seems off. While he has good IQ to anticipate plays and to get into the right spot, he's easily beaten by defenders and doesn't have elite speed yet. 
 
Strength: Similarly to his issues with speed, Pearce hasn't grown into his lanky frame and still lacks muscle. He's outmuscled by defenders and struggles to play any kind of physical game, which does have the side benefit of less penalties.
