  1. I remember 701 being one of the first members I met on sim leagues. He was as you said a very stern person who spoke his mind but I think at the time that’s why we got a long so well. we talked a lot, he was a great person to shoot the shit with and he was a genuine human being, one of the real ones. this is a very heartbreaking time, you will be greatly missed Dave RIP until we meet again.
  2. 1. With the addition of the likes of Frosty, ADV, myself and MC, as well as most recently der, how do you expect the season to finish? 2. Who do you think will be the biggest impact player for the remainder of the season? 3. Do you think the team has areas of improvement? If so where, and why? 4. Will Tonn be able to keep up his hot start and bring us to victory? 5. What is the routine of your player, what does a pre-game ritual look like? 6. Making the playoffs, what do you expect from the team? Will we go deep or will our hearts be shattered?
  3. @der meister say it ain't freakin' so, welcome back! I am the GM of the San Diego Marlins and we'd love to add you to our squad. We keep growing by the minute and we want to get better, and we know, you can make us better. I'd love to add you to the third line to start, but my main goal as GM is to reward activity, if you progress, you'll be rewarded for it. Come join the team, say hi to guys like Advantage and myself, and come have a great time!
  4. Being an international hockey player always puts certain strains and criteria above the rest compared to some that are from the bigger parts of the world that are more known to "produce" talent rather than not. When it came to 17 year old Viktor Mjers, he was poised for greatness from the very get-go, with a little help from a superstar that paved the way for many Russians in the VHL, his father...Radislav Mjers. Radislav had gone on to begin coaching the HC Dinamo Saint Petersburgh in the MHL, which was a junior/minor league for players under 20 years of age. Here, many of the top talent from Russia would compete with over 30 teams in the league and more than four countries being involved. It was a huge tradition to become a top tier talent in the league and establish yourself quickly, and that is exactly what Viktor sought out to do. As a rookie, his father would teach him the ropes, his skating, his defense and his scoring ability was bar-none. He was becoming a two-way threat in the league instantly and this really made him an attractive piece for any team to consider playing for. With his fathers help, he would go on to achieve many awards in this junior year including rookie of the year, defensemen of the year and he would also lead his team in points for a defender which was something unheard of at such a young age, it was usually the overagers whom were really destroying the league, but this time, it was him. His totals for the season were 17 G | 44 A in 50 games. in his senior year, the year before he would go on to join the VHLM, he would get even better. His skating became faster, his passing much more accurate, his scoring and slapshot was just beyond comparison, people were really seeing what great coaching was doing to Viktor, and he was really enjoying himself in the league as well. It was at this point that he would establish himself as a piece that people wanted and would establish himself as something that people kept their eyes on. To end the season, he had 22 G and 55 A in 50 games, he had now set records that were likely to be untouched for many years to come and is likely going to be one of the best defenders in the MHL historybooks for a long, long time. Now a quick look at a scouting report: PROS: SKATING | DEFENSE | SCORING | PUCK HANDLING CONS: FIGHTING | DISCIPLINE | STRENGTH | FACE-OFFS This is pretty much a given for defenders, he is a top-notch two-way player, his only concern at the moment is his strength. While he is a big guy, Mjers is still adjusting to using his brute strength and force to attempt to knock people off the puck and keep people from knocking him off the puck. With this, he is going to be working on it but its not his primary focus at the moment. It still should not be a concern however, for him he is going to be a destroyer of the league, he is Russian after all.
  5. hey @Poptart come to San Diego and make up some of the best defensive cores in the league. Let's do this thing, I just re-created as well, and we can be super elite if you come here as well. Max mins + PP and PK time, you down?
  6. hey @FrostBeard We here in San Diego, would love to have you. I can guarantee you 2nd line mins right away to play with the very promising forward Jungkrok as well as give you PP time and possibly some PK time depending on your build. Come join a huge active crew who is a lot of fun and come help with a cup win
  7. hey @Advantage and welcome BACK to the fun ranks of the VHLM haha. I'd love to offer you top minutes in the Marlins franchise, we're going for the cup, I just brought in myself and MexicanCow to beef up the team, we have some of the top defenders already in the league and our forwards are going off, so by adding you it will just make us stronger. Come help us win a cup!
  8. okay fine, let's say Son
  9. The Mjers name has not been heard around the league in some 30+ seasons now. The last time a Mjers heirloom entered the league, it was Radislav, a stocky two-way defender who won multiple championships, some awards in both the VHL and VHLM level and left on-top. After many different players under the "InstantRockstar" agency progressed through the league, one little lad known by the name if Viktor was slowly perfecting his craft. Now, as we're in the midst of the S71 season...Viktor has officially declared for the league and will make his debut in the next set of games for San Diego. Viktor followed his fathers footsteps, almost to a tee as he looks to begin his journey as a defender as well, and is quite a big fellow in his own right. From the small bits of scouting we've seen, VIktor learned a lot from his dad and is also expected to be a two-way defender in the league, which could prove crucial for any team looking for a top-tier defensemen. Keep your eye out for this one, because if he has any success like his father, than you've just found a star defender for the future.
  10. 1. We have dropped a bit in the standings to 5th place after 43 games. Do you expect us to climb back up to the top 3 in the final 29 games? As we have been signing players, I do think we can make it into a higher bracket, that is the goal is to remain competitive and push through to the finish. 2. We have a goal differential of +23 as a team. How satisfied or unsatisfied are you with that? It's great to see, and I think it will only improve as San Diego improves as well. 3. Alex Bridges continues to be our top point scorer with 91. How many will he finish the season with? I believe he could break 150 with this pace if he continues. He's on fire. 4. Jungkok is our top goal scorer, lighting the lamp 37 times. What will be his end of season total? At this pace, I am expecting him to hit about 60 if he keeps going, a tall task but a lot of games left to play! 5. Nikita Kulikovich is in contention for most points for a VHLM defenseman. Can he finish on top? With his dominating performance I absolutely expect him to finish as the top player 6. Who has been the top first year VHLMer in the league? Jung has been great for us, I'd have to say he's gotta be up there if he's still considered for it.
