I can't see any of Crosby, Malkin, Ovechkin, etcetera being traded without the original team retaining a portion of the cap hit. At the same time, I can't see either the Penguins or Capitals agreeing to trade those players while retaining cap hit.
 
As a Flyers fan who watched Bylsma over the years with the Penguins and Team USA, I really can't say he's a good coach. His absolute refusal to try and change up Crosby and Malkin's shifts when the Flyers match up Couturier/Giroux the past couple years is just baffling. While the Penguins have some extremely talented players, a fair amount of them are mental midgets when it comes to the stuff after the whistle. The Flyers put the book out on how to beat the Pens in the playoffs in 2012. You engage them after the whistle and they get off their game.
 
The current configuration of this Penguins team reminds me of the Flyers after the 2010 season. Both teams have a ton of money tied up in a few high-end players, but don't have the prospects or cheap ELCs to fill out the rest of the roster (although the Penguins do have a good amount of defensive prospects who could chip in next season). Similar to the Richards and Carter trades, trading Letang away for picks/prospects may hurt in the short-run, but it may be the best way to move forward in the long-run.

1st line and 2nd line are really in name only. With only 2 lines, every player gets just about the same playing time. 1st line may get a couple more minutes per game, but not a huge amount.
 
For those from the SHL, we don't use endurance here, so fatigue isn't an issue.

Slaeter Fjorsstrom is hoping for a big year in Season 38 after falling to the Davos Dynamo in the European finals last season.
 
"It was definitely a disappointing feeling cleaning out the lockers in the days after losing game seven.  I'm confident we're going to be back and be better than last year.  We had a great year last year, and everyone's been working hard in the off season."
 
Fjorsstrom, who was nominated for Rookie of the year will look to have a big season after losing by one vote to former teammate Tom Slaughter.  
 
"I thought I had a good enough season to win, but I guess I was wrong.  I'll just have to have a better season and hopefully make enough of an impact to be in talks for the Labatte." 
 
Riga will add prospects KJA and Johan Hallstrom to their rosters next season, replacing Guido Schwarz and Matteo Gallo.

Yeah I disagree with some things with how the VHLM is set up but that doesn't mean I'm not going to play the game within the current rules.

View Games 1,2, and 3 of the Continental Cup
Look at some different Point Tasks, which are the main way to improve your player.
 
After the Continental Cup, the off-season will begin. You will be entered into the S38 VHLM Dispersal Draft, where a minor league team will draft your rights. You'll play in the minors this season, and next off-season will be entered into the S39 VHL Entry Draft.
