HALIFAX--Earlier this week, AGM, former GM, and conjurer of demons extraordinaire Anthony Rogers (@McWolf) of the 21st abandoned his job in search of greater opportunities in Washington. Though his departure came as a shock to many in Halifax, there didn't seem to be any hard feelings as far as the team was concerned, as he was celebrated with an open-to-the-public bake sale celebrating not only his legacy but the religious impact he'd made on the team as well. "Yeah, I didn't know him all too well," said new draftee Liam Rooney (@elrune1988), "but he turned me on to the Dark Lord, and I heard he liked baguettes. So I'm selling baguettes straight from hell. I beat a goat to death with this one, and I mixed its blood into this one." Meanwhile, general manager India Boy (@fonziGG) and new AGM Jeff Downey (@JeffD) got in on the action themselves, with a giant three-tiered cake complete with incense candles. "You can't be there tonight," said Downey, "but a lot more is going to happen with this cake than just eating." This reporter left the event with an "I Went to Hell and All I Got Was this Stupid T-Shirt" shirt.

@quanack I would have loved to have had you in Mississauga playing for the Hounds, but it looks like you've already signed, so good luck with Mexico! As a side note, this guy's username sounds quite a bit like the town of Qaanaaq (some may also know it as Thule, population 600), a small settlement in northwestern Greenland (yep, you read that right. Northwestern Greenland; its all-time record high temperature is 68 degrees Fahrenheit). I think it's time to introduce the Nuuk Nukes to the league, due to this latest expression of pro-Greenland sentiment.

So I don't know if this is kosher (I hope it is, because I'm doing it), but since @VHL Games is apparently starting the season lockout-style, I figured I'd throw all the sims so far in one convenient location on the forum. League file is called VHLM67 (should be VHLM68), but that seems to just be the name of the file. All players are correct and my lines are in.

I'd love to update. I spend a ton of time on this site reading stuff in the first place, and I wouldn't mind making it worthwhile for myself and for others. I think my activity speaks for itself, and I know what a good piece of work looks like. EDIT: Due to concerns raised below, I can promise that I'd act honorably as an updater. No skipping my guys to the front of the line, no approving my own stuff right away, etc.

So, here's my recruitment graphic, which I made back in S66 in my first season as GM. When I made it, I was super pleased with how it turned out, as it was one of my first attempts at making anything and I managed to actually make something passable. Now, I usually suck at editing text--I don't know how to make a font look good. I'm aware that the above isn't the most wonderful thing in the world, but I love how it turned out, personally. The thing is--I have no idea how I did that with the text. I've lost the original file, so I have no way of looking at the editing history, and I'd like to poke the collective brain of the graphics community here to see what I might be able to do to reproduce such effects as: -Making the text "glow," like you see with the red and the blue sort of highlights. -Making the text glow with multiple colors (i.e. red and blue, in this example) -Creating "folds" and "bubbles," as I'm calling them, like you can see going off the "H" in "Hounds" and also over the top of the "U" and the "N" -Making the light go off the letters in some way (like you can see off the "D" in "and" and the "W" in "want") I remember absolutely nothing about what I did, except that a) I sat there pressing random buttons for about an hour and b) a lot of that involved messing with the color temperature, though I can't promise that actually did much. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.

We came out of the draft with a strong class of actives, and we've got a great shot at success this season. With that being said, though, we do need a center, as we've only got one on the roster. If you join the Hounds, we'll immediately have you on the second line, with lots of ice time every game. We'll also have you on the power play and penalty kill, if your build progresses well enough. If this sounds good to you, and you'd like to see what you can do in Mississauga, then quote my offer and say "accepted," so we can get you on the roster.
