  3. I'm still pushing for the Nuuk Nukes to be a thing.
  4. You could always go to Davos and see if they decide to break the Louth rule again.
  5. @Abaddon I have some bones for you to crush
  6. @Bucky___lastard time to represent Malmo!
  7. I'd be totally on board with this! Doesn't have to be an NHL sim, STHS is fine.
  8. We actually won something...interesting. #fixthelottery
  9. Hi @Shaka! I'm GustavMattias, GM of the Mississauga Hounds. We're in the middle of the pack playoffs-wise, and half for the sake of depth and half because I want to do my part in the signing-of-players realm, and you happen to be a name I recognize, being a (very) recent addition to both the SBA and EFL (if you're looking for guys from either of those leagues, we signed @aCrypticPancake yesterday). Should you sign with the Hounds, you can likely expect to be stuck on the third line for the remainder of the season and the playoffs, though we do happen to be a playoff team. You know the deal--if you're interested, quote and accept. No matter who you sign with, good luck! -Gustav
  10. I mean, you're not wrong... #votegorlab
  11. I was about to make a "Garcia is trash" comment, but last night, while writing an article on why Garcia is trash, I realized that my stats this season are fairly;y comparable to last season's, and that either I was always trash or I never was. Interesting how things work out that way. #fixthelottery
  12. Does Vancouver now have a chance to make a good run at it after improving their defense? We'll see. #fixthelottery
  13. NEW YORK--New York! If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere...at least, that's what Joel Ylonen thought a couple seasons back when he was picked third overall by the Americans. The Finnish playmaker has since done all but make it anywhere though--putting up the assists, though not nearly at the rate that was expected of him. While previous seasons have shown that the forward is capable of not doing much on the stat sheet (in Ylonen's rookie season, he had a plus-minus rating of -20, whilst shooting the puck 235 times and only scoring on 18, giving opposing goalies a .923 save percentage), this one still shows Ylonen's not-living-up-to-expectations-ness, and is arguably his worst--his shooting percentage has climbed, somewhat, to around 8.2%, he's on pace for a career low in points, and he's also on pace to lower his physicality by a factor of ten, on pace for eight hits compared to his rookie season's 81, all the while he's set to rack up double his career high in penalty minutes. There's one player this season, though, who's had some trouble living up to expectations, and that's rookie defenseman Jerry Garcia, the Malmo Nighthawks' first-ever draft choice at #7 overall. Garcia had 238 hits last season in the VHLM, and he's on pace to cut that roughly in half this season. His points have lowered somewhat--scoring twice this season compared to five times last season, and on pace to just about match his assist total in Houston, with 24 at the moment compared to 28 last season. He's actually picked up more blocked shots already--132 at the moment, and 110 in the minors, and, wait a second...he's done pretty much the same stuff, actually. I've just been thinking he was trash this whole time. No joke, I wrote all of the above and then planned to follow it up with an explanation of why Garcia's been more trash, but never mind. @Esso2264 I'm sorry.

  15. Exactly. Discord does nothing in the way of productivity, and can't go nearly as in-depth as a forum discussion. But--aside from being where I've gotten to know many teammates, players I've managed, and other members of the league in general, Discord was also where I had a great many aspects of the league explained to me, and it's where I actually became interested in the league. I likely wouldn't be here right now if last season's Discord locker room in Houston weren't as great as it was, and I certainly wouldn't be here if it didn't exist in the first place. Being able to ask questions and having them answered instantly, or within a few minutes, is far superior to displaying it on the forum, hoping someone happens to read my post, and getting an answer at some point in the future.
  16. Important point: Discord is far better than forums in terms of actual conversation, i.e. talking back and forth with a one person or a small group of people at a time. What can be exchanged on Discord in a few minutes might take hours or days to develop on the forum, and I'd say that, in the right atmosphere, it's far easier to get to know somebody on Discord than it is here. The points made about the forums are valid, though--I'm in favor of Discord, but I'd support any effort to revive forum activity somewhat. Talk shouldn't be all off-site, and for members who aren't online all the time and would like to stay caught up with the latest, I'd imagine that forum activity is better.
  17. STOP BEING GOOD ONLY AGAINST MALMO @Esso2264 GO BE GOOD SOMEWHERE ELSE #fixthelottery
  18. Remember when we could beat just about anybody? Pepperidge Farm remembers. #fixthelottery
  19. Hi @aCrypticPancake! I'm GustavMattias, GM of the Mississauga Hounds, and I'd like to extend you an offer as the playoffs approach--the team can make one more signing, and I'd like to make it a defenseman to round out our team. The team is on a hot streak lately, and we find ourselves in the middle of the pack with a great young core that keeps developing and making the team better by the day. I'm pretty sure that, as a member of the SBA, you know the deal--quote my post say "accept" to join the Hounds should we be the team you'd like to be a part of. If you do join, we can put you on our second pairing, with great ice time and a good chance that we can get you on the power play as well, depending on how your build progresses. Thanks for joining the VHL, and no matter who you sign with, good luck! -Gustav
  20. I'm closer than you think to making another post in the suggestions thread, this time proposing a new league job wherein members follow you, turn on all notifications, and post that screenshot every time you do anything at all. Job pay is 10 uncapped per week.
  21. I'll apply! I'll probably (definitely) have some questions but I can confidently say that I'll do my very best to do all of the above as well as I possibly can, and if that isn't good enough, I'm not sure what is.
  22. Pass by Berocka Sundqvist intercepted by Khalabib Stiopic in neutral zone. Pass to Hayden Clarkson in Mississauga Hounds zone. Pass to Khalabib Stiopic. Pass to Benson Kramer. Benson Kramer loses puck. Free Puck Retrieved by Khalabib Stiopic for Minnesota Storm. Pass to Benson Kramer. Pass to Hayden Clarkson. Major / Game Misconduct Penalty to Danny DeYeeto for Abuse of Officials. Danny DeYeeto is ejected from game. Ok then. #fixthelottery
