  1. *Gustav noises* @Ptyrell was killed by the MAFIA last night. He was... Last will: @Berocka was also killed last night, this time by a VIGILANTE. He was... Same closing time as last night. List of living players (9)
  2. From a while ago: We already talked about this but this is for anyone else who would like to see why this didn't end up being a thing. Seems like a lot of manual effort.
  3. I think the league has certainly taken some great steps forward in terms of making us a more inclusive community, not tolerating people saying derogatory things and all that good stuff. That's something that makes "too much moderation" not a very good blanket statement (not that I'm saying you'd necessarily disagree with that, just an observation of my own). A place where I would agree with that is that it does seem that warnings and thread lockings are happening more than they need to as of late. There's a difference between being derogatory and breaking code of conduct and having a disagreement with someone...and that doesn't often seem to be generally recognized. Disagreement happens, drama happens, and it seems at times that the league is trying to enforce (not just trying to achieve, which is unrealistic but fine) some sort of idealized picture of the community where nobody ever disagrees on anything. Of course, I'm not trying to group all people with mod power together and I'm not even trying to point fingers at anyone--I think the mods are good people, just that there's a small bit of a downside to what's otherwise a positive cultural shift here.
  4. *At work Gustav noises* (something it might be useful to get used to as I've got the same shift tomorrow) Today we kill @16z after the town decides things look sketchy. We learn that the town has just lynched... Next day phase opens circa 12:30, earlier if I get up earlier but we all know that's not something to count on. List of living players (11)
  5. A Death Note was found next to Sixers:
  6. Gustav rolls out of bed, finally. *Vivo para dormir*, I suppose. @Sixersfan594 is the latest victim of a yeeting from the MAFIA. Upon further review, the town finds that the Mafia has killed a JESTER. @N0HBDY was also shot by a VIGILANTE. He was a HYPNOTIST. Night phase coming a bit after 10 as I'm at work until 10. List of living players (12)
  7. It's the end of the day! And by the looks of it, today the town has decided they want to kill @MattyIce. (Thank you for the vote trackers, some days I've been at work, other days I've just been lazy or stupid or both or even all three). Lack of a claim goes the way a lack of a claim usually goes around these parts, and Matty is dead. He was the COVEN LEADER. I don't have to work until later on in the day tomorrow...so expect the next day phase to kick off god-knows-when. List of living players (14)
  8. BarzalGoat's last will, because I keep forgetting:
  9. Day 4 Day 4 Day 4! Let's get this over with so I can go watch the Sabres lose again. @Advantage was killed by a member of the MAFIA last night. As per his claim, he was a MEDIUM. @BarzalGoat was taken out by the POTION MASTER. He was a CONSIGLIERE. And, finally, in probably the night's most surprising move, @WentzKneeFan036, claiming to be the JAILOR, was shot and killed by a VIGILANTE. He was... Day phase should be able to end at the usual time. List of living players (15)

  11. Howdy doody! It was a fine day at work for once--we got pizza for literally just doing what we were supposed to be doing. It also does not seem to be a fine day for @Lefty_S, who finds himself on the wrong end of the yeet stick today. Post-yeet, the town finds... Day 4 coming by 11 tomorrow, methinks. List of living players (18)
  12. Hi don't mind me, just adding a comment as per my obligation as Chief of Horny Police
  13. *Gustav noises* @Jericho is dead, taken out by the MAFIA. He was a LOOKOUT. Last will: ...and that's all, folks! As far as killings go. @Domg5 found himself protected by a GUARDIAN ANGEL last night. In addition to being given protection last night, he will not be able to be lynched today. Also, an AMNESIAC has remembered that they were an INVESTIGATOR. This day phase will likely be ending late; I'm at work until 11. List of living players (19)
  14. Going to tag players in the sigs (except Hank who's already been mentioned + v.2 who presumably saw theirs): @SamTwoSix @Gaudette @MikkoKoskinensMistress @Wolverine @GrittyIsKing09 @Craig
  15. Can we like...disqualify @STZ and vote on the rest please? #2 is too good and it's hurting my feelings about mine.
  16. Yeet! A bit of circumstantial evidence, and we have us a lynching on Day 2. @Spartan dies after a pair of contradicting claims--to the surprise of nobody, he was... Day 3 starting...I'm not sure when. I may be up around 10, I also may not be. List of living players (20)

  18. A backup goalie is an often-overlooked part of a VHL team. They get thrown in when they're required to be, often just 8 games every season, and then they're benched as the team does all they can to win by giving the other 64 to the higher-TPE player. Often, a backup is a lower earner who may never be a starter, but at times they may also be a star in the making. Here I'll be ranking every team's current backup by how much I'd want them on my team--that is, where they are in TPE, how they've done in the past, and (most importantly) their potential to develop into a legitimate starter. It's a .com, so let's go. This is going to be way longer than 150 words, but as always I only write about things I want to write about and I can't think of anything else at the moment (other than something that would be longer than this). 1. Sirkants Klamasteris | @hedgehog337 | S75 | 635 TPA | #1 on this list is a no-brainer. "Sir" is better than many starters in the league, and will certainly be the starter next season after the retirement of Jaxx Hextall. In fact, he may be #1B this season, as starts between him and Hextall have been split fairly evenly. 2. Jacob Carson | @jacobcarson877 | S74 | 422 TPA | One could argue that Blazevicius and Tater Tot have better potential, and that may be correct. I'm going to go with Carson here because he's a couple more seasons into his development and is currently more starter-ready. In fact, with Ajay Krishna inactive and depreciating next season, Carson may be called upon to take over as the starter. He also did fairly well last season, picking up a .931 SV% in 10 games. 3. Tater Tot | @Trunkxolotl | S76 | 291 TPA | Tied with Blazevicius for the title of youngest goalie in the VHL, there isn't much at all separating our #3 and #4. The difference comes with a very slight TPE edge and a better opportunity for Tater Tot--while UnGuri figures to be the long-term starter in Davos, Vancouver doesn't quite have a franchise goaler in place, leaving the door open if Tater Tot sees an increase in earning. 4. Jurgis Kalvelis Blazevicius | @efiug | S76 | 282 TPA | And here's Davos! Many backups in the league are S75 players who are just a shadow above Blazevicius in TPA. With Blazevicius being a full season younger, he's set to catch up to most if not all of the S75 backup class (Klamasteris excluded) this season, and with another full season before depreciation, he's got a higher ceiling. 5. Woody McPine | @HearnNation67 | S71 | 547 TPA | 525-TPA Artem Tretiak is easily #2 on this list if we assume that the lower-TPA player is the backup. However, the starts have gone to the hotter prospect in Tretiak so far, leading one to believe that McPine is the one in the backup role. McPine has played in at least 40 games every season of his career (including the maximum in S75), finding himself in starter territory up to this point--so in terms of being able to hold down the fort, he's proven himself worthy. Being from S71, though, the future is limited. 6. Joakim Bruden | @PadStack | S71 | 487 TPA | It's weird to see Bruden outside of Davos, but here we are. Bruden had a few seasons as the starter in Davos, with two as #1 and one--last season--as 1B. Though sim luck never seemed to fall his way, he's got a fresh start backing up rising star Thadius Sales in New York. Though, like McPine, he won't end up making a big difference now or in the future, he's the third-highest-TPA backup in the league and one of the best possible options when the starter is out. 7. Trent Gibson | @Caboose30 | S75 | 335 TPA | Gibson gets recognized over a few other S75s for a few reasons. First off is current goaler Zamboni Driver being out the door after next season--possibly giving Gibson a starting opportunity--and second is Caboose being an active contributor in other leagues and getting half of his weekly cap for free from elsewhere. 8. Matthew A. Sovick Jr. | @matt sovick | S75 | 303 TPA | Sovick is very similar to a few others, though he's been more active as of late. Though Calvin Harvey seems to be in net for the foreseeable future and it seems somewhat unlikely that Sovick might start in Riga, he's become more active as a member and may have a bright future in the league down the road. 9. Aksu Maronen | @aksuko | S75 | 301 TPA | Maronen's future in Seattle is more limited than Sovick's in Riga, with starter Rara Rasputin being both S75 and 600 TPA. There may be a space for Maronen elsewhere, but reaching starter status with the Bears seems highly unlikely. 10. Kloxified | @Kloxified | S74 | 355 TPA | Time may be running out for Kloxified to become a starting-caliber player, but in terms of TPA, Chicago has the 6th-best backup to fill in for Camus when necessary. 11. Michael Olson | @MSO94 | S74 | 339 TPA | With fellow S74 draftee Kevin Malone in net for Moscow, it's unlikely that Olson will ever be the starter there. However, like Kloxified, he has developed enough to be usable. 12. John Poremba | @CrlineDijohn14 | S72 | 395 TPA | With close to 400 TPA, Poremba is the 5th-highest backup in the league. However, he will depreciate heavily next season and be gone in S79. At the moment, he is a good option--but that is very temporary. 13. Michael Fletcher | @DragonFire420 | S75 | 293 TPA | Fletcher is comparable to Maronen or Sovick, but he's also inactive. A return to activity would move him up the list, but until then he remains more or less a filler. 14. Nils Friedriksen | @Biggreen10 | S72 | 343 TPA | Friedreksen is in Fletcher's situation, usable but inactive. Being three seasons older, though, the time he has to re-establish himself is very limited. Yeet! I learned a few things here; I hope you do too.
  19. Last will of NSG:
  20. *Gustav noises* @Ricer13 is this game's first casualty, victim of an attack by the MAFIA. He was an INVESTIGATOR. And we have another! @NSG88 finds himself on the wrong end of a prepared VETERAN, and the town finds him bled out with a bayonet as triangular wounds are impossible to stitch up. He was a SERIAL KILLER. Let Day 2 begin! List of living players (21)
  21. Gustav looks away from the Sabres' franchise-record 15th loss in a row in progress to end the day phase. A few meme votes (and maybe the first-ever serious push for a D1 lynching?) later, and we're ready to get crazy. Submit your night actions to me in your private Discord channels! Day 2 begins at about 11:00 tomorrow. List of living players (23)
  22. There's no voting phase on D1 in the real game, so in the real game no. I'd probably go with that here because it would be stupid for someone to get lynched when it's impossible for anyone to have any info.
  23. Fair enough. Gotta hit that quota somehow
  24. ...why? There's disagreement but I don't see anything even close to lock-worthy.
  25. For the week ending 3/28: 1. We picked up our first win of the season today, against Riga! What are your thoughts on our first couple rounds of sims? 2. What are your expectations for your player this season? 3. There's been a lot of talk--and arguably a lot of drama--about our BoG (Board of Governors), with some calling for more transparency and some even calling for it to be dissolved. What are your thoughts on the situation? 4. A surprising number of professional athletes find themselves in need of a living after their sports career ends, even if they've made all the money most people would ever need. What's your post-career financial plan--start a business, save your money, go to school, anything else creative? 5. I give you 10 dollars and 10 minutes at the grocery store. What do you buy? 6. You go to a hockey game with someone who knows nothing about hockey...at all. What's the very first thing you teach them? @Big Dee@Advantage @Grape @Berocka@Kmatt @jimmyallen93 @Brrbisbrr @WebberP@Duddy @Azlan @Ricer13@efiug
