  1. I would critique this only on one level - Expanding with 2 teams is rough and I believe not necessary - Exanding by 1 would have been so much better choice as that wouldn't make other existing team assets so much less valuable. But that is my opinion.
  2. Yeah, tbh, I am not sure if I want to jump in now - I want one season as AGM and have a better feel around and then you will surely see me apply for every open spot. Thanks for thinking of me though
  3. Hmm, why is our first line not minuses this game? I guess we are not only capable offensively, but defensively too
  4. Damn, I did write some time ago that our line might be the best line in VHLM...
  5. You had a very balanced team - like - if we could give a Teamwork award, that would go to Canada!
  6. Congratulations Jubo for amazing seasons as Ace's GM - everyone that has ever called themselves an Ace has to be proud! Cheers! ?
  7. John Frostbeard Forward Points +/-
  8. Vancouver might be good next season, or... Well - they will surely be in the playoffs sometime in the next 5 seasons! I believe them! @Beaviss, don't let me down - I was giving HHH points!
  9. Good luck everyone in playoffs! I hope Yukon can show that the end of the season is the most important!
  10. You are a great example that hard work and dedication can lead to success! Superb community member and someone to look up to when it comes to activity! Cheers and have a drink on me! ?
  11. @Banackock Teasing VHLM with a Huge announcement is already bad, but not giving us any classy hints is just too tough - I will just keep drinking my milk and sit tight, but you as a huge information anchor should not do!

It’s a losing battle, Frosty. I’ve already asked them to fire me but they won’t..

@Banackock Wait, they didn't fire you? Uhhhh... Oh well, I guess we will have to try another time... :(

  12. VHL is 100% tougher to manage than VHLM, fully agreed and VHL is a lot more future plan based league as at most players will spend 2 seasons in VHLM at max.
  13. Well, it is each GM's approach how to do it - some will find it better to blow up the team first season and try to land as many picks in the upcoming drafts as they can, so they can have some guarantee to be competitive every year after that and some will just try to get everything ready for the first season and just punch a hole in VHLM history. I guess there really isn't the Right and the Wrong way how to do stuff, just what suits your future plans. (My humble opinion)
  14. ECN on VHL Portal #5 "WJC Gold" This post will feature factors that our Chief Editor FrostBeard believes will prove to be instrumental for either Europe or Canada at winning WJC. As always guys - I hope you will enjoy this post and for the future reference - if you have any ideas on how to improve ECN format - be sure to throw a message. Now let's get on with it! Two amazing teams have been decided to go and fight for the gold medals in WJC - Those are Canada (GM Bushito) and Europe (GM TsarPeter). Each team is having its own special style of play - Canada is a true offensive superpower - just looking at their lineup you can clearly understand that any of their lines can be lethal to anyone, Europe, on the other hand, is a defensive juggernaut who can limit you easily to 2 goals a game which can be instrumental in determining who is gonna win. Both teams are super competitive and we can surely say that both have same chances to win the tournament. But... The one factor that I believe could prove to be most important is the goaltending. For one - you have the superb stats of JB Rift, who has been amazing at helping Europe get so far - with 0.940 Save percentage in Round Robin and now with 0.946 in Medal round he has put himself into a position as the most consistent and the best goalie this WJC by a landslide. On the other hand, you have Wendy Candee Cain - Canada's Nr1 goalie this WJC - With 0.914 in the Round Robin and 0.907 Save percentage in Medal round Wendy is showing that their outstanding offence has someone to rely on. So in the end, it is just a question of - will JB Rift be able to sustain his amazing statistics or will he be pushed down by the great Offence of Canada? Well, I guess that is gonna be a question for discussion in the comments section down below. As always guys, thanks for reading this and we at ECN hope you will have an amazing day! Brought to you by Frostbeard Entertainment People mentioned: @SlashACM , @Devise , @TsarPeter and @Bushito
  15. S65 WJC Top 10 WJC Players (April 7th) This post will feature Top 10 players in S65 WJC. This list is based on their effectiveness on ice and importance to their team and teams success. 1. Kyson Blake United States of America @TMI With 17 points in 8 games played, Kyson Blake is leading WJC tournament and is proving to be the real reason the USA team is successful this year. USA struggles have not been anticipated by anyway as many predictions before the start of the tournament showed that the USA was one of the favourites this year. Maybe this is a nod to Kyson and his importance in the team picture - morale boost and leadership is what everyone is expecting from his and surely his point total and 2 point a game average has to be there consistently in the til the end of the tournament. 2. J.B Rift Europe @Devise Let's face it - with point totals and production we are seeing from Europe - their goaltender is the reason they can be brought up to the talks about true powerhouse in S65 WJC. The amazing statistics of 0.940 Save percentage and only 2.26 Goals against we are seeing right in front of our eyes great plays by one of the most promising young goaltenders in VHL right now. Europe has been effective defensively, but will that help them fight against Offensive superpowers like Canada and USA? Time will tell, until then, all we can hope for is that J.B Rift will not fall down and keep his All-time great WJC stats up. 3. Wendy Kandee Cain Canada @SlashACM Another goalie that is having a constantly good stats throughout WJC games. You might ask, why is Wendy featured so high up the list and the answer is Wins. With 6 wins in 8 games played and quality goaltender stats (compared to what we see all around both VHL and VHLM this season) is surely a worth to mention aspect. We have to point out that Canada's success can be put on two shoulders: Great play's by their offensive unit and by amazing goaltending Wendy Kandee Cain is showing this tournament. 4. Elasmobranch Fish Europe @Sharkstrong Forth and fifth stop on this list are occupied by two defencemen and it really doesn't matter who you put in fourth or fifth stop - they both are truly amazing. Elasmobranch Fish is showing great leadership and ability to be dominant on the offensive end as well as on defensive as he is the 2nd place by the number of points by a defenceman and 2nd in blocked shots by any player this tournament. He is in the position to help Europe find its ground and try to get that cup. 5. Dallas Jones United States of America @Trifecta Again, not much to say then a leading defenceman in points with 11 and being in Top 10 in points, blocked shots and hits. His ability to close out games and to be that high hockey IQ player he can be, might give a USA team a chance to fight against stacked offensive unit we see in Canada. Working together with Kyson Blake and being able to provide constant scoring will be a key for them and actually anyone who will try to show off in this year's stacked tournament. 6. Anthony Matthews World @Anthony Matthews 13 points in 8 games played is a great showing already, but what makes Anthony a 6th place holder in this Top 10 list is his amazing Faceoff Percentage. With 233 faceoffs taken in 8 games - he is rocking an amazing 65.24% Faceoff percentage and that just shows how unappreciated some stats are - his ability to give possessions to his team and give that ability to have another chance on attack might prove to be a great hidden weapon for World team. 7. Shane Mars World @Spade18 Another interesting choice for being in this Top 10, for a different reason than you might think - his scoring ability is well known already as he is having 14 points in 8 games played and that puts him 2nd in WJC S65 tournament. The real reason he is here is a combination of his high scoring capacity and his ability to play a great number of minutes without taking any penalties. After 8 games he is the only Top 10 player in points without any penalties taken - that is a statement for someone who knows why accurate plays can lead to victory. 8. Joe Nixon United States of America @Bonzaijoe The last goaltender on this list is Joe Nixon - he is having a great time in WJC as he is proving to be effective with 0.916 Save percentage. The only reason he is not pushed up higher on this Top 10 list is his 3.14 Goals against and that is a bit much. USA team will require much more from Joe and I truly believe he can prove to be a cornerstone for teams success this tournament with a little bit of luck and patience. 9. Dimitri Volosenkov Asia @SirRupertBarnes Even though Asia team has not performed great this tournament - Dimitri is showing he still is able to be consistent and prove to be a quality scorer and playmaker at the same time. With 9 points in 8 games played he is just building his own profile by showing GM's in VHL that he should be a guy they pick up in the upcoming S66 VHL Draft. 10. Scott Shawinganen Canada @Cornflakers Super underrated and super important for the team's success. He might be the most important piece for Canada this tournament. With 270 Faceoffs taken, he is having 64.07% Faceoff percentage. He is playing on the second line for Canada and that actually might be the reason why they are having only 6 wins in 8 games played - put this guy on your first line and he will be able to punish anyone who steps in the circle against him. Well, that is it for this list - hope you enjoyed and I hope you really liked this format as I believe it is important to point out interesting players and people who work very hard for their team's success. P.S. I hope this is acceptable for WJC : @BladeMaiden @Banackock
  16. @Matmenzinger Huge thanks for this my friend, I truly feel honored as I am just trying to be a decent person when talking to others and you know - bring a little optimism spark in the LR Truly thanks and I am not lost anywhere - I am here every day, reading, checking, doing my stuff - My TPE gain will bump up after the draft - I guarantee that!
  17. @hedgehog337Shh, I have my plans But really, I am slowing down as I feel like one more season in VHLM might be super beneficial for my player's development! That said, I am here every day, ready everything and checking everything, so - GM's - don't get fooled by the amount of my TPE!
  18. Ladies and gentlemen - the day has come for S65 World Junior Championship to take place! Get your skates sharpened and your sticks taped as it will be an amazing tournament!
  19. Yeah, John Frostbeard hasn't been getting much love lately, but that will not be the case soon - I just have to get more free time (It doesn't sound promising, I know) and then I can jack it up to 14 TPE at least a week. And huge thanks to @Tagger for kind words said about John Frostbeard - I hope that your words of him possibly becoming a star will come true and in a few seasons we will see him on top of the VHL in points!
  20. Well, this was surely a close game, but Yukon held its ground and came up top on that one! Winning streak continues!
  21. Understandable - wanted to throw it out as I didn't see it anywhere, well, thanks for quik answer
  22. Thanks for recognition - trying my best
  23. Hello, I have been thinking about this for quite some time and even though I have no clue about how hard or how difficult it could be - I wanted to suggest that VHL Forums should feature Themes of each VHL team. Basically, what I had in mind is a similar system as there was in NHL 04 videogame (Those who don't recall how that worked - when you made your "account" you could choose your favourite team and all game menus and whole theme was based on that). That would allow everyone to feel a bit of pride for being a part of a specific team and that would give a great variety with just a few different colour schemes. In the end - I would just say that if this is not possible or just is too expensive, as I understand how much internet services cost, don't mind this, I just felt like that could give a bit more soul to the page. Adding to that - maybe, if that is not possible - what about theme based around last winning team in VHL - just an interesting little idea. Anyway - I hope this doesn't sound absolutely terrible and I hope you will have a superb day onwards - Cheers! FrostBeard
  24. Yeah, I know - but I felt like writing a bigger article - after all - I have nothing to do today soo... But, yeah - Riga is looking quite promising in the future. Who knows - maybe a cup in the next 2 Seasons?
