    Oh wow, haha. I didn't read closely enough, I guess. I know the SBA has elected to cut all ties with us (VHL PTs don't count as SBA PTs) but just assumed that it would be the other way around as well.

    VHL Code of Conduct Policy

    @Members

    Recent events within the league have made it clear that the VHL, both historically and currently, has been running far too much of a "Laissez faire" approach in regards to policing the use of insensitive slurs and other language. Not everyone in the league will obviously agree with how these events went down but the point remains that our approach has simply been too relaxed and things have gone too far without the administration necessarily realizing it. This is not simply in relation to the board, or the discord, or any members in particular but is a wide spread problem across multiple areas of the site and it's due time something is done about it.

    Ultimately the VHL was founded in an interesting time for the internet, 2007. It was a different place back then, a rather toxic place if we are being honest. However it is not 2007 anymore. The kind of words we have seen weren't acceptable (but perhaps more tolerated) back then and they certainly aren't now. To give a few examples, though they should hardly be necessary, using words like gay or retarded as synonyms of stupid is ridiculous and long past its expiration point. This isn't about censoring your posts, being Social justice warriors, or arguing about meaning of words changing over time but rather about the league being inclusive to all its members and potential members.

    With that in mind, moving forward, the league shall be more proactive in avoiding these types of slurs. Staff using them will be treated more severely for obviously reasons but from the top down we expect to see uses reduced and will be punishing those who do not wish to comply or clearly skirt the rules when looked at in context. Punishment will be determined by the blue team on a case by case basis but can include:

    • Warnings
    • Removal of job positions on the site
    • Temporary or permanent suspensions from discord, the forum, or both
    • PT Bans, both full and partial

    Punishment will depend on how severe and how frequent the offences occur and will be made more severe for repeat offenders. It is not a matter of wanting to ban members for this sort of thing but we will if we have to. Quite frankly it's an easy thing to avoid and isn't something that should be a problem in 2019. We will be leaning on our mod team as well as the BOG and general member base to make sure that people who are using insensitive language towards others or groups; whether intentionally targeted or otherwise, are punished accordingly for it. In addition we will be subdividing the Discord better to hopefully spread discussion from general and make it easier to watch for things. In this vein we will also be doing a search at the end of the week of discord and the forums for key words and phrases to keep an eye on things.

    In general things will fall under the guise of our already in place rules regarding Drama, Fighting, and trolling but with special attention paid to people making claims in general instead of specifically targeted. Our aim, as I said, is not to censor but to make the VHL a welcoming place for everyone.

    Obviously this did all stem from an event as I alluded to and there are certain members who shall be receiving punishments for their involvement in that event. The league recognizes that, while these rules were not in place at the time, members were warned to not provoke any further action and to stand down. Instead of doing so several members took matters in their own hands and made an already complex situation far worse for themselves and for the league. For their part in all this the following members shall receive the following punishments:

    @Josh: 1 week PT ban (as in max cap is 6/12)
    @Banackock: 1 week Update ban
    @DilIsPickle: 1 week Update ban
    @Nykonax: 1 week Update ban
    @jRuutu: 1 week PT ban (as in max cap is 6/12)
    @Matt_O: 1 week PT ban (as in max cap is 6/12)

    I know you guys likely won’t be happy about these but it’s what we deem fair given the situation that was either caused or exacerbated by your behaviour. It is our hope that these punishments are the only ones we require in the subject. Given that it’s Thursday and the cap has already likely been hit for you guys the punishments will be served next week.

    It is our sincere hope that the VHL can move on past our old behaviour and into a brighter, more welcoming era. We hope you can all understand that this is not an attack on your rights as members but simply a policy to make sure that your right to speech does not infringe upon the rights over others to enjoy the league.

    Re: SBA Affiliation

    In addition to the above code of conduct the league would like to make a mention of the SBA affiliation which was recently dropped because of the above mentioned issues. The league has been in talks with the BoD of the SBA but is not making this code of conduct simply to appease them or to get back the affiliation. If things improve and those discussions do continue on the right path it may happen some day but that is not our main goal and is out of our hands.

    However we do recognize that stopping SBA affiliation claims on our end, which was done while we sorted things out, is unnecessary and does negatively impact some of our players. For this reason, regardless of our affiliation coming back or not, and to alleviate the concerns of 90% of the population about how their dual membership of the VHL and SBA will be affected, we will continue recognizing SBA PTs as valid VHL PTs in line with previous affiliation agreements. Our updaters were told to put a hold on, not deny, any claims made while the affiliation welfare was down and they have also been instructed to approve back claimed ones for this past week if the PT week was missed by dual membership members.

    Sincerely,
    @Commissioner
    @BOG

You could’ve added more to the gfx, and it’s kinda plain, and yes Ik I’m not one to talk, but I need to review something. Though there’s something about the font that I like.

    Season 69 will provide the Helsinki Titans one final season of having all pieces of their core intact. With the exception of goalie Alexander Pepper and #1D Sidney Crosby (signed through to Season 70); Julian Borwinn, Dan Wilinsky and Jesse Wilson will see their contracts end. All three will play their final games in season 70 and may seek out other opportunities should Helsinki struggle to perform in S69.

    Julian Borwinn has played his entire career with the Titans amassing 240 goals and 277 assists for 517 points in his 432 games. Dan Wilinsky has achieved two strong seasons with the Titans since coming over from New York. His two seasons with the Titans earned Wilinsky 69 goals and 101 assists for 170 points in 143 games. Jesse Wilson, much like Borwinn, has spent his entire pro career in Helsinki. The reliable defender has 74 goals, 193 assists and a +16 through 360 contests; highlighted by 74 points in season 66.

    The Titans own their first, two 2nd rounders and a 3rd rounder this off-season and will look to build for the future. It is possible that their GM looks to move picks to go “all in” in season 69 in anticipation for what could be a few seasons of lesser expectations following it.

    See the last 8 games you actually need to think about a lot because if you mess up or miscount you’re fucked. Also the intention of the rule is not to have it be on the simmer’s head so if your lines don’t work for some reason and you’ve waited until the very end you’re gonna miss some. Doing them right off the top is the safest method. Also gives you plenty of time to make the games back if your backup shits the bed.

    Stephen A. Smith: Alright ladies and gentlemen. The break lasted for like 3 days, but we are back! My apologies. To recap this as quickly as possible, M. Rodriguez over here will explain why he would join any of the VHL team as he is now a pending upcoming free agent this off-season. The stage is all yours my boy.

    Aleksander Rodriguez: Thank you Big A, I just want to say this before starting. Mannn, M. Thompson is having a historic year and he just seems destined  to win a cup before retiring for good and Riga is such a good team dog, but it seems that they lost there lucky charm these years. I hope they will win a cup the next few years though since I really believe they have one of the best GM in the VHL these years. Anyway, I will start naming off all the VHL teams in the EU conference since it is the strongest place to be in.

    The European Conference

    GM: Shawn Glade
    77%

    Shawn Glade is a really chill GM to be around with. I don't really see him to be in trouble a lot, but we never know how any of the GMs will act in the locker room. Davos is somewhat of a veteran team and they have a lot of experience to win games. They will always found a way to make the playoff and hope that things go there way.
    Although, the team contract situation isn't really looking pretty good at the moment (Keep in mind that I can't see extensions from the Index). A total of 7 players are UFA this upcoming off-season and 2 retiring players and they are all roster players on there team. Fortunately, Davos already made some plans and have a lottttt of picks for the season 69 draft and most of them are from rebuilding/retooling teams. Shawn Glade will really need to show out this off-season and prove himself that he is a GM that will do his job when the time comes. Anyway, let's imagine that he re-signed all of his players. They have an amazing goalie in Finn Davidson and a really decent prospect goalie in Samuel Ross. In defence, they have the best d-men in the league with Smitty and whatever his last name is with amazing pairings in C. Paddywagon and E. Fish. P.Jerwa just had an amazing breakout year. I think this defence may be one of the best in the VHL if they keep up the good work. As there forward core, I am willing to play on that second line. It would be Jake Davis last season so putting J. Madden and another playmaker could replicate the previous historic season in M. Thompson. I would love to help him achieve that. They also have Gritty, R. Crimson and Kattie Waren. They are all scorers. I could see myself into that team and be the playmaker that they would need since J. Madden would be the only one so far. The only thing that sucks is that they don't have a single active prospect in the VHLM which the season 69 draft will be a big one for Shawn Glade. Ultimately, this team would be deadly next season and could legit have a chance to win the cup if J. Davis can replicate the historic season from M. Thompson. Yes, after doing my research. If everyone comes back then I would be willing to sacrifice one year of my career for that team and make a run for it.

    GM: Quik
    90%

    I love Quik as a person and as a GM. I really love him and there is no words for me to express it. He is just an amazing GM to play with. I would have the chance to play in front of THE A. Pepper. He will be one of the best goalie the VHL has ever seen and any team would have a shot at the cup with him in net, but it would be wise that Quik would draft a future starter goalie if he can since Pepper only has 2 years left already. The Titans are a loaded team and they gained a lot of experience playing together. They have a mix of future HOF and young talented players. It could be one of the most balanced team in the VHL. The contracts situation is perfectly well planned, but they seem to be forced into a retooling phase in 3 years if they still want to compete deep into the playoff. They have G. Fontenette (which we were teammates in Mexico and I really liked his personality), J. Wilson, S.Crosby and the veteran D. Montgomery. They may not be the most dominant d-core offensively compared to other teams, but they may be one of the best defensively and they can still get points. Having such a balanced d-core and a goaltender for a forward would be a blessing. As for there forward core, they would have the best 1st line between most of the teams in the VHL. A line of D. Wilinsky (my old captain, really humble and a really good personality), K. Bailey and J. Borwinn is making me wet right now. Then they have a deep center core with J. Toon and O. Slade. After that, they still have ACL Tear? Oh baby, I don't mind in the slightest to be in the second line at all. I don't see why this team could not win a cup with such a deep balanced roster. Amazing job by Quik.

    GM: Advantage
    82%

    From the conversations that I had in the past with Advantage. He seems like a relaxed and chill GM to be around with, but again we never know what is happening in a locker room. I still can't believe that this was an expansion team a couple of years ago. They don't have a lot of picks for assets so it could be a difficult spot for the GM, but a lot of there players are still very young. M. Thompson will be a huge lost to them, but they will easily live it off of it. There contract situations is somewhat clean, but I won't say that they are safe right now. They have an uprising star goalie in Juan Jaundice and an uprising star group of d-men in C. Adrienne, H. Chan, J. Garcia and R. Shackleford. They have so many potential these young group of guys. After that, a lot of there forwards are veterans. Such as J. Boucher, M. Materazo, R. Sullivan Jr then they have a young group of talented forwards in J. Lynch, L. Nygren, P. Marleau and R. Mattalex. This team will be competitive for a very very long time and will be really fun to watch for. It is a team full of playmakers and adding another one won't mess them up....right? Anyway, this would be a team really fun to play with there amazing young group core that some teams doesn't seems to replicate. (Welp Seattle and Riga are somewhat more older then them ye?) Keep it going Advantage.

    I like ace personality and you know I love H. Zoiderberg as a person, but if only I was 2 years older. This team would honestly be the place that I would of go for. I never really talked to Victor, but I do know that he never get's in trouble and is always doing his own thing. Which is really not bad. Moscow does have picks and the finance will be well built next year. My only question is why do they have so many forwards and how not a lot of them are becoming something in the VHL. It is something really weird when I check there roster. I don't know if I am the only one thinking about this, but I feel like there are a boring team. Sorry, let me rephrase that. There isn't anything particularly  happening over there and something being written about over there. Nothing. Beside that, they still have a decent goalie in I. Kingfisher. The d-core is more on the weak side, but there young players will be coming up and there forward core has a bunch of different players. Yeah this is a team that I don't really understand what is really happening after doing some research. At the end of the day, I was taught to never underestimate a team so they could actually be a surprise real soon. I won't mind signing over there, but I  really would not know what I would be signing up for.

    Riga Reign
    GM: hedgehog337
    Original team

    There isn't really nothing to be said here. I was drafted over there, but got traded later on. To be honest, I really like Riga. Riga will be or already are the best team in the VHL on paper. The luck is just not in there side right now. They have a really smart GM in there helms, an amazing goalie, amazing d-core, amazing forward core. This GM did an amazing job and I won't believe that they won't win a cup with that kind of team. Man, they are just good everywhere that I see and I can't even found something to rant about. Underperforming in the playoff? I can't really say that because legit anything can happen come playoff time. They still have a bunch of picks which are good assets! In 2 years, 85% of the team will become a free agent, but I believe that the GM can show off his skills easily and there won't be anything to be afraid at. Like, I could make it into the second line, but I could be in the third line as well just because they are so stacked lol. Keep your hopes up hedgehoggg.

    Stephen A. Smith: Hold up, there is a lot more options that I could of imagined. This will really be an intriguing free agency for you since this year is somewhat weak. Anyway, Aleksander Rodriguez will be back in a couple of minutes.... **cough** well days **cough** and will talk about the NA next! We will be back after the break on the Stephen A. Smith radio show!
