  1. Eagles first few starts have been impressive Eagles get's his first ever VHL win Greg Eagles has a pre-game ritual that goes beyond which skate he puts on first or whether he taps the net a certain number of times. Whether he is starting or backing up, he will do this routine before every game before he puts on his equipment. The Wolves rookie goalie juggles a soccer ball from foot to foot, sometimes to his head without it letting touch the ground. Sometimes his team-mates will join him in the hallway and it is tough for anyone to get through with all the soccer balls flying everywhere. It’s a mental exercise he learned from his childhood from his soccer coach when he used to play soccer. It helps with reaction time, agility and mental stimulation. “He really helped me with my reaction training,” Eagles said after the Wolves practice. “He helped me become calm and not let my emotions show, this definitely helps when you are on the ice and let in a bad goal” “He helped me turn into a better, faster goalie, but I would say the best parts that I got from him were definitely the mental aspect of the game” Eagles continued “He introduced me to juggling soccer balls before games. It helps getting your eyes going and helped me along the way getting to the next step quicker.” Eagles training dedication and attitude has been praised as the rookie goalie has played surprisingly well in his first 3 starts. In his first ever start Eagles gave the Wolves a win as they won 4-2 vs Seattle. Eagles put up 32 saves on 34 shots. “It was great to get my first win in my first ever start, the GM thought I was ready and I repaid that confidence in me by getting the W for our team” Said Eagles. The next game didn’t go too well as Vancouver lost 6-0 to HC Davos. This was a rough game by Eagles and it ended up being the first time in his career that he got pulled. “I don’t know what happened, maybe it was just fatigue from the previous game but everything they shot just went in. I just have to be better next time” Eagles said from the locker room as he was pulled. Recently he was given another chance by his GM when he played Moscow and he played the best game of his career. While the Wolves ended up losing 1-0, Eagles put up a first star of the game performance by stopping 40 shots out of 41. Eagles named first star of the game “Even though we lost, this was my best game to date. I just felt on fire and Moscow just got lucky on that powerplay goal. This is what sort of games I am capable of and there will be more to come” an excited Eagles said before he skated out on the ice as he was announced as the first star of the game. The highly touted prospect was Vancouver’s second round pick (15thth overall) in the S67 Draft. Vancouver’s management must be excited with the recent play of Eagles who one day could become the Wolves franchise goaltender.
  2. Before the season started, Greg Eagles was one of the few rookie players invited to the VHL Top Prospects game. Eagles played the full 60 minutes as his team won 10-8. With all the future talent on the ice, Eagles put up some decent numbers and put up the best stats out of any of the goalies that participated. He ended the night with 32 saves on 40 shots. He made a few incredible saves that will be shown on highlight reels on all the major sport networks. "It was fun, very fast paced game and felt like a future all-stars game. I was just out there to impress my team-mates and management in Vancouver and to also show the other teams what they passed on during the draft " Said Eagles " I think I did very well, I played the full game and kept my team in it. I am happy that we got the W" Once the prospect game was finished, Eagles flew right to Vancouver to continue training with his new team so that he would be sharp for the new season.
  3. 1. Are you the Greg Eagles from way back when? I feel like he had the same username? If not, were you aware of the old Greg Eagles? When I first started in the league a long time ago I did have a goalie as Greg Eagles, I believed I played for a few seasons before life took over. 2. In a similar vein, I won a cup with Greg Eagleowski, Greg Eagles' recreate, in S18 long after he went inactive. Thoughts (regardless if it's you or not)? I don't remember making another player after Greg Eagles but it was so long ago that it could have been possible. If that was me then it's great that he ended up winning a cup 3. Anyway enough of that. What's it like being a backup in the VHL? In the past any active was almost guaranteed to start but now you have to wait, what's that like? I came into the draft knowing I will have to wait and before the draft I let every GM that messaged me know that I will be comfortable backing up for 1-2 seasons. I am just here to give my team the best chance of winning. 4. Any teams in particular who will regret passing on you? I am sure a few teams down the road will regret not taking me earlier, I plan on being very active and always maxing out my stats. I believe Vancouver got a steal with where I went. 5. Did you get to go to your preferred team in the draft? I really had no preferred team. I just wanted to be on an active team that wanted me in their future plans. I am glad I went to Vancouver as so far it has been fun and the locker room is great! 6. Favourite logo in the league? I think it's a tossup between Helsinki and Moscow. Interesting logo's with some good details. 7. Thoughts on crossover (i.e. best 6 teams going to the playoffs regardless of conferences)? Should it stay or should it go? Being new to the league I haven't had a chance to really gauge it yet. If I had to make a choice I would say it should go and just have the top 3-4 from each division make it to the playoffs. 8. If you had to pick one location for a VHL team in Europe where would you put it? Warsaw or Wroclaw in Poland. Being Polish myself it would be great to have some representation. 9. Same as above but for a North American team? I think Chicago or Las Vegas would be interesting locations. 10. What is your view on the VHL ever expanding beyond Europe and North America? I'm all for it. We have players from all over the world and it would be interesting to see a hockey team in South America, Asia or Africa join the league @Victor
  4. Back in the W column, lets keep it going!
  5. very tough loss but happy with my performance!
  6. Great win! Hopefully we are back on track
  7. 56 Vancouver Wolves 57 Toronto Legion 58 Malmo Nighthawks 59 Seattle Bears
  8. Review - Only need 3 pro's but still good to see players go above and beyond. Well written. My only suggestion would maybe be center the Age, height, weight, hometown to make it look better with the big picture
  9. Review: Great information, well written. I would just space out your 3 pro's and 3 con's so that it does not look like just a wall of text. Other then that well done and welcome back!
  10. Review: Great written profile. Pros/Cons broken down nicely and color coded. If i could give any feedback is maybe to have the picture up top and centered. Great work!
  11. Review: Great rookie profile, like the touch of the included stats. Might be a touch to long at the beginning in terms of this being a quik scouting rookie profile but none the less, great work and it shows that you put a lot of effort into this!
  12. Review: I would separate these with a heading of pro's and con's. It's hard to quickly see what his pro's and con's are. Other then that great information!
  13. Review - Great work, this is definitely a good rookie profile. I would just maybe add a small little conclusion on the end but other then that it's really well done. NHL comparable was a nice touch
  14. Review - Great long Bio! Well done, lots of information regarding your player and how it all came to be. The only thing I would suggest is to edit the spacing on the paragraphs a little bit. I know when I write something in word and then copy/paste it here, it doesn't get the spacing right. You have to manually do it on the forums! Other then that, keep up the great work!
  15. First win for Eagles, great team effort!
  16. No worries! Rough game for everyone
  17. Great first win, have to keep the momentum going
  18. were putting up the shots, just can't seem to finish!
  19. damn 66 shots on net and we still lost! Amazing game @Rayzor_7!! one goal games are killing us but things will get better as the season goes along!
  20. Rought start for Vancouver but we will bounce back
  21. Close game! We will get them next time
  22. D - Lincoln Tate @Tate Don't let me down Buddy @Bushito to pick
  23. F: Kronos Bailey @Sixersfan549
  24. 1. What did you do during this offseason? Trained hard and promoted myself for the draft. Excited to have landed here 5. What are your goals for this coming season? To work on my game, be a reliable backup and do what I can to help the team achieve its goals 6. What do you think about the GM's moves this offseason? I liked the moves, GM has put together a solid team and filled up holes that were needed in order to make another run at the finals 7. Which rookie do you think will have the best season? Micheal Gary Scott! Looking forward to see how he does this season 9. What was the last junk food you had before starting training camp and getting back on diet? Not so much junk food but loaded up on some Poutine before training camp, not sure if going back on diet yet as I need to build up some bulk 10. What rookie prank do you like doing the most/ which rookie do you think will get pranked the most? As a rookie and a backup goalie I think majority of the pranks will be heading my way
