  1. Hey yeah sorry, I claimed it on my player management as the 2 TPE VHL.com section but wasn’t sure if I should upload the actual card in the graphics section or in the VHL.com section. I’ll remember that moving forward @DollarAndADream
  2. We were lucky enough to be able to again sit down with, newly drafted, Minnesota Storm player Boone Jenton and ask him a couple quik questions. Reporter: "Thanks for sitting down with us again Boone. I know you must have a lot going on know, especially with you just getting drafted. Actually speaking of the draft, you were chosen 30th by the Minnesota Storm, what do you think about that?" Boone: "Honestly I couldn't be more excited to be in Minnesota. I was able to speak with the GM before the draft and he let me know that he was interested so I'm glad it worked out. I'll also be pretty close to home so I may be able to sneak back to the farm every once in a while too. Reporter: "That's great Boone, it really seems like you were the perfect match. So what are your expectations for your upcoming season?" Boone: "Knowing that Minnesota claimed the title last season, I'm really hoping we can keep that success rolling. Looking at our depth chart we don't have a ton of defensemen so I'll most likely be getting decent playing time right away. I just want to take advantage of that and really show what I can contribute to the success of this team." Reporter: "Having the opportunity to see you play in the past, I have a feeling you'll be able to continue that success. Especially with a team like the Storm. Best of luck, you know we'll be watching."
  3. 1-If you got stuck in the elevator and was forced to listen to only one song, which would it be? Remember The Name by Fort Minor 3-What is the best advice anyone has ever given you? I'm a big believer of the idea of 'going with the flow' there are many things in lie that you aren't going to be able to control, both good and bad. So I think it is very important how one is able to react and bounce back when bad things happen. 6-What does your name mean? Not much really, just switched the first letter of my first and last name. 8-How do you relax after a hard day of work? First thing I usually do is come home and spend some time with my dog, Geno. Then I'll usually to the gym and finish up the night with a movie. 9-What’s your favorite Disney movie? This is a tough one, but I'd probably have to go with Monsters Inc. or the Incredibles 10-If you could keep any animal as a pet, what would you choose? I always thought it would be wild to have a Bengal Tiger as a pet. Maybe even rig up a saddle and ride him around.

  5. Boone Jenton, defensemen and 30th overall pick in the 66th VHLM draft to the Minnesota Storm, is here to answer some questions.
  6. With the 66th VHLM Draft rapidly approaching later tonight, emotions are beginning to run high. For these potential draftee's this could be a huge payoff for their years of hard work and dedication to the great sport of hockey and an even bigger opportunity for their future. Fortunately, we were able to sit down with one of these potential draftee's and ask a couple questions in order to see what it is like to get in to their head, defenseman Boone Jenton. Reporter: "Boone first off I'd like to thank you for taking the time to speak with me today. I know we don't have a lot of time so I'll get right in to it. We know there has to be a lot of thoughts and emotions running through your mind right now with the draft coming up so soon. How can you describe it and have you found ways to help keep those emotions in check and possibly relax a little?" Boone: "Of course, I'm more than happy to sit down with y'all. Hmm It's really hard to put in to words what I'm feeling right now, I guess more than anything it's just excitement. I've spent the last few day's back on dad's farm so lord knows he's been keeping me busy. With all the work I've been putting in at the farm it's been easy to kind of focus on that and ." Reporter: "Oh I'm sure he is, that's great Boone. Do you have any thoughts on where you're going to go in the draft? Possibly even a team you'd prefer to play for?" Boone: "I would be lucky to play for any team in the VHLM, from what I can tell each team is full of great guys both on the team and in management. As far as where I'm getting picked? I couldn't really tell ya. I know there's a lot of other talented guys that have their names in the hat tonight so it's gonna be tough. I just hope some GM's have noticed my skills and what I could bring to the table." Reporter: "I have been able to see you play so I know first hand how much you have to offer, I'm sure those GM's know how nice it would be to have you on their teams. I know we're running out of time so I'll try to keep this brief, I just wanted to thank you again for sitting down with us. We'll finish on this, is there anything you think is important for those GM's to know about you that they may not already before going in to the draft tonight?" Boone: "Hmm, well I guess I'd just like to say that any GM that picks me tonight is definitely making the right decision. I'm no stranger to hard work and I'll do whatever it takes to bring myself and the team to the next level." Reporter: "I have to agree with you there Boone. Best of luck tonight, I know I'll be rooting for you" Boone: "Thanks"

  8. Review: I like how he's not a typical northern raised guy where hockey can be found everywhere. I'm sure Florida can be a tough place to find quality hockey so it's understandable that he would be drawn to other things. Nice to hear he returned to the sport he loves and it has worked out so well for him even with all the struggles he's had with his game along the way. Looking forward to see how he will be able to adjust to the VHL. The only thing I can recommend is maybe adding a few more images to the bio. Other than that really well done
  9. Review: Really nice bio for Aston. It's wild he was able to travel all the way to Canada at such a young age, but they just shows how dedicated he was to the sport. The images are nice as well. The only thing I can suggest is to adjust some of the formatting, centering the images and adding some bold text to break up the segments of the bio would really take it to the next level.
  10. Review: Really nice graphic, the green theme really works. The only slight issue I can see is the 'malmo nighthawks' text is a little hard to read with the layer underneath is having some white as well. But I'd say thats even nitpicking a little bit. Well done.
  11. Review: I really like this graphic. The colors work great together and you can really feel a nice depth to the layers with the shading. Shan looks like a pretty mean dude in this one
  12. Review: Overall it was a really well written biography, the images are a nice touch. Not a bad idea for his parents to start him in figure skating as well, I'm sure that did wonders for developing his skating ability when he was young. Nice he was able to grow out of that 5'0" 90 pound frame too. Looking forward to what Dan Gles can bring to the league
  13. 1) Since it's not been too long since you've joined the league, what are thoughts on the league so far as a whole? In the short time i've been a part of this league everything has been pretty great. The gm's and others that are responsible for keeping the league running have been very friendly and helpful. I am also very impressed with how immersive the whole experience is. 2) Are there any areas in the league that you would like to see a change/improvement? As of right now I haven't found anything that has been a problem or issue. You guys do a great job helping us newbies get acclimated in the league and figuring out how to navigate the sites in order to boost the experience. 3) The VHLM Newsletter launched earlier this week, did you read it and was it helpful to you? Yes I have! This is a perfect example of what I was talking about above. It definitely helped me in terms of what things I should be focusing on in terms of building my player and tasks I should be completing. As well as filling me in on what is going on around the league 4) What are your aims this season in the VHLM? The main thing I would like to focus on being my first season is building the skills of my player. I hope to be a strong contribution to whichever team I am lucky enough to get drafted to. 5) With the teams starting to take shape, who do you consider to be the favourite for the VHLM Founders Cup? With the 65th season playoffs just wrapping up I would have to think the Minnesota Storm have to maintain their position towards the top. I'm hoping the new expansion teams can stir the pot a little bit though. 6c) If a GM were to make you an offer, what kind of player would they be getting? (If you're currently unaffiliated). To any GM considering adding me to their team, I would just want them to know that I plan on being as active as possible and contributing to the team as much as I can. Especially for any of them looking to bolster their defense since I plan to develop my player into a defensive style defensemen.
  14. Boone Jenton: Farm Boy At Heart Early Life: Boone Jenton’s story began on July 24th in Grand Rapids Michigan. Boone’s father, Boone Sr., played for the local AHL team when he was younger and had such great memories from those times that he decided to return to raise his family. Not only that, his father was able to use the money he had earned while playing the purchase a small farm on the outskirts of town. In doing so he knew he would be able to instill a strong foundation for honest hard work, and even more importantly, a love for the game of hockey. Thanks to his father Boone was skating as soon as he could stand on two feet, and helping with chores around the farm soon as well. Boone quickly developed a love for the game and a respect for honest work. He was fortunate enough to have a sheet of ice his father would make for him in an open area of the farm so he would spend any free time he had working on his game and developing his skills to the top of their ability. That is as long as his chores were done, whether is be bailing the hay for the stables or wrestling the pigs back in to their pens, Boone did what had to be done and would be back on that ice as soon as he could. Little did Boone know at the time, but his father had another hidden motive for all the seemingly back-breaking work he was putting on Boone’s plate. Not only did it instill an appreciation for hard work, it developed the strength that Boone is known for on the ice today. By the time Boone started playing organized hockey, not only did the coaches notice that he had amazing skills, but that there were just no other players physically built like him either. Boone seemed to just shrug off any attempted checks or pressure from opposing players and could return the physicality ten-fold. Which came in especially good use since he was a defensemen, following in his fathers footsteps. This strength gap would only widen as he grew into a teenager, and with a combination of the skills he had honed, Boone was soon on the radar of all of the coaches of the top teams in the area. Boone was recently asked about his physical prowess had started to develop at such a young age and responded with a lighthearted quip, "Sure some of those other guys out there were just as big as me, but none of them were as strong as our prize winning sow Peggy so I figure I had a pretty strong training partner growin' up. I knew if i could handle her, I could handle any of those guys out on the ice." Boone's Farm: His childhood farm and where it all started Hockey Career: Throughout Boone’s adolescent years he always played for the local small town hockey team, many of the parents and coaches that watched him believed that he was a big fish in a little pond. Some of which voiced their opinion to Boone and his father, but they both agreed that the farm was more important for the time being, especially since Boone was an only son and pretty much the only help his father got aside from a few seasonal workers that weren’t worth a darn. So Boone continued playing for the local team and when he reached high school he played for the school team as well. Always making sure he would be able to get home and help his dad with the important tasks of maintaining the farm. However, towards the end of his high school career, that’s when things began to change. After leading his team to back-to-back state championships and being named Michigan’s high school athlete of the year his final season he had a number of scholarships offered to him from the top collegiate hockey programs across the nation. After discussing with his father, the only mentor he had through his life so far, they agreed that this was too great of an opportunity to pass up. Boone was going to go play hockey for the Wolverines at the University of Michigan. Still close enough for him to make weekend trips back to the farm to lend a hand when needed. Many thought this would be a rough transition for Boone since he didn’t know much about life off the farm, but he made his presence noted right away. While at school he had much more free time due to the fact he wasn’t doing chores each day, and he dedicated all that extra time to developing his game. Whether he was in the gym doing strength & conditioning, working drills at the practice facility, or studying game film with other teammates and coaches. Boone was eating, sleeping and breathing hockey. He quickly rose up the ranks of the D-men and became the top defensemen on the team by the end of his freshman year. On top of his on-ice ability, his work ethic off the ice, and the respect from the players because of it, he began to rub off on the team and many of them were beginning to join him on his off ice training. The team was beginning to run like a well oiled machine, and by Boone’s junior year they were the top team in the nation. With the type of nation-wide publicity Boone was getting while on the Wolverines, it was just a matter of time before the heads of USA hockey really started to take notice. He was offered an opportunity to represent the nation on the USA World Junior team. Boone continued with his success there as well, quickly after joining the team he was named a captain and helped lead the team to their silver medal placement in the 2019 World Junior Championship. Boone competing at the 2019 World Junior Championships for Team USA Looking Into The Future: Boone knows he has been blessed with the opportunities he has had, and knows he will always be a farm boy at heart. But he believes he is ready to take the next step and put his name into the draft prospect list for the VHL. He hopes his skill, determination, and hard work will continue to bring him success and he will be an important addition to any team that he has a chance to play for.
  15. Name: Boone Jenton Age: 20 Height: 6'3" Weight: 215 lbs Position: Defense Nationality: United States The Michigan native has shown much promise as a top level defender in the World Junior's level, but now is putting his skills up to the ultimate test and joining the VHLM draft in the hopes of adding more accolades to his young, but promising, career. Strengths: Defensive IQ: Boone has proven himself as a reliable D-Man that has deemed him as crucial player in previous teams. Whether it's blocking shots or intercepting passes from opposing forwards crashing the zone, Boone is able to look one step ahead and position himself perfectly in able to make the play. This could play important for any teams looking to bolster their penalty kill lineup as he easily could be a plug-and-play into any scheme. Boone's type of intuition for the defensive aspect of the game is something that seemingly can't be taught and could set him apart from other prominent D-Men in the draft. Skating: Despite the large 6'3" frame Boone is sporting, he is fairly agile on the ice. Many times it looked as if he had gotten himself out of position while pinching the blue line to keep a puck in the zone, but with his respectable skating ability he would be able to reposition himself perfectly in order to stifle the opposing team's offensive push without ever missing a beat. Passing: As shown in his large assist numbers for previous teams, Boone's ability to get the puck to his teammates and set them up in scoring positions cannot be overlooked. His ability to seemingly look two steps ahead and predict the play before it happens plays huge in combination with the fact that his passes always seem to hit the tape of his teammates. This could play as a huge potential upside to his contribution to any team as he has found a way to make every other player on the ice with him that much more dangerous. Weaknesses: Stick Handling: Seemingly the largest hole in his game we noticed. There were many times when it would have been better for Boone to keep the puck and move down the ice, but instead we found him dishing it off to one of his teammates in inopportune times and stunting the development of any play that was forming. Whether this is lack of confidence or skill this could be detrimental especially when the game is on the line. Looking to see him develop this skill in time so he can become as much as an offensive threat as he is a defensive one. Discipline: Boone has a habit of letting the emotion of the game get to him. It is common for Boone to be the focus of other teams when it comes to jarring and prodding because of this and it has proven effective. He has found himself getting unnecessary reaction penalties and putting his team in poor positions because of it. Although he is young and this can be refined as he develops in the VHL it is something that potential GM's and head coaches should be aware of. Scoring: Looking at Boone's stat sheet and his game on the ice, it is easy to see that he is lacking some scoring ability. Many times when Boone could have taken advantage of his position with the puck he would instead pass it to a teammate and allow them to shoot. The few times he would take the shot it was hit or miss too. Rarely showing glimmers of scoring ability but ultimately missing his mark.
  16. Thank You! Really looking forward to getting started here, seems like a really awesome thing you guys got going on
  17. Sounds good! Appreciate it and looking forward to everything
  18. Thanks! I was on the pens subreddit and Spade had made a post about the upcoming draft. Seeing as how the Pens took an early bow out of the playoffs this year this looks like an awesome way to take care of my hockey itch for the long off season. If there's any recommendations or anything you think I should do to make my experience better please don't hesitate to let me know!
