  1. 1. Are you a Star Wars fan and did you do any binging on May 4th? I am not a Star Wars fan, so I didn’t even realize it was the day until my fiancé said something. 2. Are you looking forward to anything this off season? I am looking forward to it being over 3. Have you followed the playoffs at all since the Legion were eliminated? I was watching the remainder of the VHL playoffs, good for the Bears. 4. Any plans for the weekend? Camping trip, maybe some fishing? Nothing to do yet, hopefully have a nice few weeks in the summer here. 5. Coke or Pepsi? Coke products, but Braqs rootbeeet for me. 6. Knowing Hextall's retirement is pending... how do you feel? \ (For ROOKIE: Do you feel satisfied with Hextall's career?) im sad we couldn’t close his career off with a little more hockey
  2. @McWolf @Peace @osens@BOOM@NickSunderbruch @Toast @rjfryman@Webberj @Poptart @fromtheinside @DoktorFunk@Juice @ROOKIE745 @hedgehog337 1. Toronto currently sits In 1st in the NA conference. Did you honestly expect us to be here at this point in the season. 2. What was your thoughts on the deadline move the Legion made? 3. If you could bring over one player from any roster, who and why? 4. What are you getting Hextall as a retirement present? 5. Oh Sens currently leads the team with 76 points. Do you think he breaks his first 100 point season this year? 6. End of season predictions for the NA conference?
  3. Good listen. The Sandro talk brought back lots of great older memories
  4. Review: Never thought as a redraft for theme week, but this was a good ideas. Good write up about the first round, with a few extra selections in the second round. Neat to see where player would end up and a good refresher for people like myself who don’t pay attention to drafts. Good media spot all around, bit messy but good read 7/10
  5. Review: Good write up on an alternative timeline for Rose based off a year later draft class. Seems like a bit more work went into this for role playing as a lot didn’t happen for you, like being drafted. it was an interesting take on where you would have signed and been drafted to in the VHLM/VHL. Possibly a title, colour and pictures to draw the eye. 7.5/10
  6. 1. Toronto has scored 198 goals so far this season. This is good for third in the entire league... how do you feel about that? We have done a lot is scoring by committee, which is nice and hopefully we can continue. 2. Toronto currently sits sixth in goals against. How does this reflect our defensive efforts? We have a good defensive core, but as forwards we need to help out some more. 3. Hextall is one win away from 200 career victories with the Toronto Legion (and his career). What team do you think we defeat for win #200? I cannot remember off the top off my head who he got it against, but it’s nice to see his hard work not go to waste stat wise. 4. How many more fights do you think Lester Green will participate in before the end of the season? Hopefully not many more. 5 fights a year for the majority of my PIMS is fine. 5. Who is the next player to get a game misconduct? Hextall, put the league in notice, 6. If you were stuck on an remote Island and could choose a member of the Legion to be stranded with you.. who would it be? Juice, he seems decent enough to let me be the cannibal.
  7. Moving on Up After a seven game losing streak looked to derail the Legions plans for Season Seventy-Seven, the Legion currently sits just one point out first place in the North American Conference. Heading into Season Seventy-Seven the expectations in the Legion locker-room alongside the entire GTA, were at a point we had not seen in many seasons. Coming off another season where they missed the playoffs and found themselves in another Draft Lottery, the Legion and their fans were dying for some meaningful hockey come VHL post-season time and this might be just the year with the cure. The Legion currently hold a 30-19-7 record in their fifty-six games play this season, and even though they currently sit in second place right now, any slips ups in their last sixteen games will have a huge impact on a very close playoff race. With four players on the roster currently over a point per game right now and another very close, the Legion will continue to use their scoring by committee to keep themselves near the top in Season Seventy-Seven.
  8. What if Jaxx Hextall didn’t get traded With the annual trade deadline and subsequent theme week has hit the Victory Hockey League once again. This year the league has asked media around the league to took at “what if” situation. In this weeks media spot our focus will be on “What if Jaxx Hextall didn’t get traded to the Legion?” Back in Season Seventy, Jaxx Hextall was drafted Ninth Overall by the HC Davos Dynamo. Hextall signed a standard three-year entry deal with the club. Then on January 15th, 2020, Hextall along with three others were shipped to the Legion for one player and six draft picks. Now if we rewind the tapes and keep this trade from happening, what exactly would be the spin-off? Well first thing that comes to mind, is Hall of Fame goalie Alex Gegeny would still be in fourth place all-time in wins in Legion history. Yes, you heard us correctly, just recently Hextall pulled ahead of Gegeny in wins by a Legion netminder, where he currently sits in fourth with 202 wins. Now during the time that Hextall won 200 games with the Legion, the Dynamo as a franchise have only won 209 games, so its really a toss up if the trade to the Legion increase or decrease the number of wins Hextall has. Another eventual spin-off from Jaxx Hextall not being traded to the Dynamo in Season Seventy, would be the possibility that Joakim Bruden isn’t taken by the Dynamo, Fifteen Overall in the Season Seventy-One VHL Entry Draft. One season after selecting their franchise goalie in Hextall, the Dynamo wouldn’t have to go out and get another top notch goalie in Bruden. In turn for Bruden, he doesn’t have to then sit as as the backup goalie in Davos for three of his five seasons with the club. With Hextall still on the club in Season Seventy-One the Dynamo would go a different route with their selection, selecting Xavier leFlamnt, who was selected in that draft just five selections later. A third spin-off from a hypothetical situation from Hextall not being dealt in Season Seventy-One, would be Sirkanta Klamasteris would likely be the starting goalie for Toronto this past few seasons, instead of being a back-up for the Legion at close to 650 TPA. After being dealt to the Legion in the Season Seventy-Six off-season, Klamasteris has played a combined thirty-six games for the Legion in just under two seasons. With Hextall not in the mix in Toronto, there would be nothing standing in the way or Sirkanta starting and being more vocal in the locker-room about his poor play when it happened on the ice. Thankfully for the Legions players in the locker-room and the Legion fans, the Hextall trade saved them from hearing from Klamasteris each day. As you can see from the information above, the hypothetical situation of Hextall not being dealt in Season Seventy would have quite the trick down effect for both the Legion and Dynamo, but one thing for sure is Hexall now sits alongside some of the best in Legion goalie history.
  9. Lol Moose Jaw, we can hardly supper a junior hockey team on a nightly basis. good read tho!
  10. Doesn't work, but best of luck. I made a "fighter" that fought less than most people that put nothing into fighting. I had 70 in fighting and only beat up Da'brickashaw O'Neal once.
  11. I have more fights this season than the last 76 seasons in the VHL. Thank you for turning up the fight sliders
  12. Review: You haven’t hit regression and spent all your money so far, ballin. If was a good read to get to know what a person of thinking in terms of VHL thoughts. As a person who uses welfare/pension, it’s nice to have in all honesty in case shit hits the fan. Don’t feel bad about not donating and missing out on 100 TPE, you can still have a good decent player, especially year 4,5,6 without those TPE. They really only come in handy to fight regression. Overall as it was your “thoughts”, I won’t knock you for the way the article flowed, but it was hard to read and I had to reread somethings. Good luck with your player. 7/10
  13. Review: This was a neat article and spin on a VHL related article. Goalies are their own breed of crazy, so one going into MMA wouldn’t be that crazy. The hockey media seems very interested in how Eagles will be in the ring, so maybe some updates on the future. Good article, has a picture so I’ll give it 9/10.
  14. 1. A win... finally! What can we learn from the 8L streak we endured? Well that’s hockey and sports in general. We need to understand tough times will happen, but overall it was likely the best time to happen instead of beginning/end of season. 2. The lines were shaken up, promised to players regarding lines and ice time were broken, so was the W worth it? I mean, I wish we didn’t have to make promises to players. I understand both sides from players and management, but I want to win more than anything. 3. The EU Conference has been destroying Toronto. What do you think we can do to improve ourselves? The EU has been getting the better of many NA teams, they have two of the best teams in the league, nothing much you can do other than come to play each game. 4. One of our dominating wins was a 8-3 W. Did you enjoy that game... was it fun to participate in? Sure, I mean you still also feel bad for the other guys as professionals, cause we all know what the next practice for them will be like. 5. On a scale of 1-10 where was your panic level during the 8L streak? 1. again it’s hockey and they way she goes bud. 6. Do you think we can climb back up the NA Conference? I don’t think we can move much other than third now after that mini slump, but anything can happen.
  15. 1. Toronto just completed a huge trade that brought in Hornet and Adrienne... thoughts? (For McWolf/Poptart: What do you think about the value sent that brought you here?) You personally know my thoughts and I don’t want to give much away with behind the scenes stuff, but as I told you while you were working this deal, makes us a top three team on my opinion. 2. What has been your favorite game of the season so far? Every loss has been my favourite. It’s showing us where we need to improve to be a top tier team in the league. 3. The Toronto Social Club said goodbye to two members of our LR yesterday... how do you feel? I mean it’s sucked to have some quality members leave the roster, but the main core is still around in the LR to ease the pain. 4. SS Hornet somehow had a -20 this season with Vancouver. Care to guess why? Sometimes it just the way the shit winds blow Ricky. 5. Giant and Welch are tied with ten goals a piece. Who do you think reaches 15 first? Welch has the slight lead after the most recent games, but I got to do with my old blue line mate in Jolly. 6. Green and Sens are tied with seventeen assists each. Who do you think gets the next for 18? We both hit is in the same day, so win!
  16. If only it was this easy...
  17. this is what I assume my flight in the Seattle game looked like
  18. Jolly Rancher It’s been quite a start to the Sophomore season for Toronto Legion defenseman Jolly Green Giant. The Second Overall pick from the Season Seventy-Five VHL Entry Draft has been leading the way for the Legion through their first nineteen games this season, putting up eight goals alongside his team leading nineteen assists. With a team leading twenty-seven points under this belt during those seventeen games, Giant is currently on pace for over 100 points this season. While of course there is a lot of time remaining for the Legion in the season, the early progression from his rookie season has been great for a team that struggle to find the net last season. Greene Giant has not only impressed his teammates and the fans of the Legion with his early season output, but across the VHL other players and fans are starting to take notice of the youngster. Greene Giant currently sits in tenth place in the entire VHL with his twenty-seven points, alongside the eight place spot currently in the league for assists with his nineteen helpers in nineteen games Now closing in on 600 practice hours in just his second season in the VHL, Greene Giant is poised to keep this upward trend going, barring of course any unforeseen injuries or retirements.
  19. Review: It a been a up and down early start to the season for the Legion. The North American Conference looks wide open so far so who knows what a hot steak could do this season. I don’t think you were missing anything, good over view of the two games you went over. Keep up the good overviews. Like the other MS I reviewed, some pictures and colour possibly could go along way to break up a long walk of text. 8/10
  20. Review: Riga in last place is so weird as a long time VHLer. I’m sorry to hear you have had a let’s say trying first week to S77. It’s hard when line changes are done with a struggling team, sometimes makes you think about your place on the team in the minute. Overall good read, good analysis of the situation in Riga. Unfortunately doesn’t seem much better since Friday. Maybe some colour or a picture or two to spruce up the reading experience would help with the long black text. 8/10
  21. The Replacements are here everyone. 1. 2-2 to start the season. How you feeling very, very early into the Season. 2. Three undefeated teams still left in the VHL (Seattle, Prague, London). Who is the last one standing? 3. Oh Sens has nine points in our first four games for us this season? What kind of drugs do you think he is currently taking? 4. The two Greens on the roster have yet to score this season. Who gets the first goal this season Jolly or Lester? 5. Funk has a 40% shooting percentage already and three points. What are your early predictions for his end of season totals? 6. How's things? How's life? We in the Social Club want to know @osens @NickSunderbruch @Matmenzinger @BOOM @Rayzor_7 @Callahan @Smarch @Juice @DoktorFunk @fromtheinside @ngine4@ROOKIE745 @hedgehog337 @Peace
  22. VHL Storylines- CCCCChanges After one of the busiest off-seasons in the Victory Hockey League in possibly decades, the league is on the verge of getting its Seventy-Seventh season underway. While we say it was one of the busiest off-seasons in history, of course we had the usual trades, some bigger free agent signings than usual, but then we have the VHL General Manager mini-exodus. The first domino to fall in the off-season for management changes was Moscow General Manager Victor Alfredsson announcing his retirement from the Menace, after being with the club since their inaugural season in Season Sixty-Five. In twelve seasons at the helm of the Menace, Alfredsson had a 380-326-26-27 record. While Alfredsson and the Menace didn’t fare as well in the post-season as they did in the regular season, Alfredsson still ends his Menace GM career with a winning record in the post-season with a 42-41 record. Of course during this retirement announcement, Alfredsson touched upon his other accolades leading the Russian franchise, some of those accolades included; 9 Playoff Appearances (8 Seasons in a row currently) 3 Victory Cups (Seasons 70, 74, 76) 2 Continental Cups Final Appearances 1 Continental Cup (Season 70) 3 David Knight Trophies (Seasons 67, 69, 74) While Moscow wasn’t the first time Alfredsson has seen success with the VHL club as their General Manager, this was the first time he undertook an expansion club, allowing him to see the club into what he expects out of a hockey club from day one. When one looks back on the General Manager career of Victor Alfredsson, you would be foolish to think he’s anything but one of the top three VHL General Managers of all time. On March 9th, it was announced that the new Moscow General Manager would be first time VHL GM Euron Leonidas, better known to the VHL as Spartan. While Leonidas doesn’t have any VHL management experience under his belt, he has held various management experience in the league, including the Season Seventy-One World Junior, where he put together the Canadian roster that won a bronze medal, while also holding the roles of General Manager for the Las Vegas Aces from Season Seventy-Two to Season Seventy-Six, alongside the Assistant General Manager role for the New York Americans from Season Seventy-One through Season Seventy-Two. With a possible re-tool/re-build season in Moscow, we will have to see what the season hold for Moscow and Leonidas. The second General Manager domino to fall in the VHL, was the former General Manger in Vancouver, Keaton Louth stepping down after a very lengthy and successful career with the Wolves. Louth had stepped down from his very important commissioner and Head of Victory Hockey League Recruitment a few weeks prior, but during the announcement he expected to continue his General Manager duties. Just over two weeks after the resignation from the commissioner position announcement, the league made a subsequent announcement on a new General Manager taking over the reins in Vancouver. After eighteen seasons at the helm of the Quebec/Vancouver Wolves franchise, Louth stepped down from his position as General Manager. Louth and the Wolves has a good regular season record during those eighteen season, putting up a 583-509-35-42 record. Louth and the Wolves also made the playoffs in fourteen of those eighteen seasons, putting up a 62-67 record in those fourteen seasons. Louth had many accolades during his time with the Wolves, including the following; 14 Playoff Appearances 2 Victory Cups (Season 69, 71) 4 Continental Cups Final Appearances (Seasons 62, 66, 67, 74) 2 Continental Cups (Seasons 67, 74) 1 David Knight Trophy (Season 62) While Louth currently has left the VHL to take some time for himself after this long tenure in Vancouver, its undeniable that over the past 18 years in the VHL, you could count on Vancouver being a competitive team almost each season. With only two cups to the franchises name before Louth came around, It’s safe to say hockey fans in Vancouver are glad Louth brought the franchise and winning attitude to the west coast. On March 20th, the league again released a press release regarding a new General Manager in the VHL, and again it was a first time VHL General Manager announced. Ted Mosby, better known to the VHL as the man from How I met your mother, we mean fonziGG. Mosby was most recently the Assistant General Manager for the D.C. Dragons, but he also has experience as the General Manager for the Halifax 21st from Season Sixty-Seven through Season Sixty-Nine. Mosby inherits a roster that finished ninety-five points last season and still has a lot of that fire power heading into Season Seventy-Seven. Eyes will be on Vancouver here early in the season to see if they will hold the course or head more towards a re-tool/rebuild. While those were the two General Manager changes that were announced in the off-season, we would be doing a disservice to the other two General Managers that will be taking their swing at VHL management in Season Seventy-Seven. Calgary General Manager Ryan Jubis announced he would be stepping down after five seasons at the helm of the Alberta based VHL franchise. Jubis has a decent run as Calgary GM putting up a 170-118-16-13 record in the regular season, and a 10-14 record in the post-season with the club. While Jubis wasn’t able to bring home a Continental Cup for the Wranglers, he did lead the lead to a Victory Cup last season in Season Seventy-Five. After deciding during the regular season, Season Seventy-Six would be his last with the Wranglers, the league announced Kris Rice would be taking over in Calgary. Rice is again another First time VHL GM, but comes to the Wranglers with loads management experience including experience in the World Junior Championships in Season 70 with a bronze medal win with Team Europe. Rice also was the Assistant General Manager in Yukon from Season Seventy through Season Seventy-One, before moving up to taking over the Miami Marauders from Season Seventy-Two until this past VHLM season. Rice comes to the VHL after a successful run with Miami during those five season, winning two Jack Reilly Trophies for Top VHLM Executive and a Season Seventy-Five Founders Cup with the Marauders. The other VHL franchise that will have a new person in charge of the team this season is the Malmo Nighthawks. While this announcement was made a few days prior to the end of the Season Seventy-Six regular season, it was announced the second GM in team history John Frostbeard would be stepping down immediately. Just under two seasons removed from the franchise’s first Continental Cup, the man that was the architect of that roster was announced to be leaving the Swedish club after six seasons at the helm of Malmo. Frostbeard will be leaving the club with a regular season record of 169-189-15-10 to go along with a post-season record of 22-22. It was announced on February 19th the league would be appointing a new GM to lead the Malmo, leaving the job to Christopher James, better known to the members of the league as Hylands. James is the fourth new General Manager taking the reins of a VHL franchise, but like everyone else announced he comes to the Nighthawks with management experience in the VHLM with the Mexico City Kings. James was the General Manager of the Kings from Season Seventy-Three until this past year in Season Seventy-Six. James has a pretty successful but short carrer with the Kings, winning the Prime Minister’s Cup as the top regular season team in the VHLM in Season Seventy-Five following it up with a Founders Cup win in his last season with the Kings in Season Seventy-Six. Now that we have touched upon the four changes in the VHL management landscape, I would like to take moment to thank those who have recently stepped down. @Victor- I don’t really need to say much here. I appreciate everything you have done over the course of your VHL career. Of course I’ll always make fun of you for being your best advocate in terms of your VHL success, but let’s be honest, you deserve tooting your own horn after everything you have done. Hopefully you continue to stick around and don’t go away like last time you left some positions of power in the VHL. @Beaviss – While I’m not certain what happened to make the fast exit you have done, I can only imagine why you have done so and honestly would agree with any information you gave. I understand the grind the league can be in a position of power, something that is often thankless. You were and still are a valuable member of the community, and hope one day soon you can find some peace in just coming on to enjoy yourself on the league again. Thank you for everything since you joined the league. @Jubis– While we have had almost zero contact, outside I believe you contacting me to see if I had a contact outside the VHL for Bushito. From what I can remember, you stepped up in Calgary when it was needed, leading one of my favorite VHL franchise back to relevance again. I'm not sure again why you have stepped down or your plans moving forward, but hopefully you are still sticking around and looking for more in your VHL experience. @FrostBeard- Our main crossing of paths came in the Philadelphia Reapers Discord, which I was the least active of that great roster back in Season Sixty-Six. You were a great member of the team and discord, which was great to see from a new member. Now after a few seasons running a VHL franchise, I am glad you were able to hit the top of the GM pinnacle with a Cup in Season 75. I wish you the best moving forward and hope our VHL paths cross again. Weeks of: Mar 22-28 Mar 29-Apr 4 Apr 5-11
