  1. 7/29/2019: Today, I woke up with the sun blaring straight into my face which gave me a quik boost of energy from all the vitamin D. I got up and went for a 10 kilometre run and grabbed a coffee at Starbucks. I've been implementing new healthy habits into my life in order to improve my general fitness so I can live a long and healthy life as well. Okay, lets ignore the warmed up ginger molasses cookie that I've had today. Granted, you can't hold me accountable for this, obviously its their fault it tastes so good. Look, I have it once every few weeks, not every day. It's just irresistible to me okay. I will not be denied. Anyways, enough about that heavenly cookie that I don't have every morning (haha). What was nice was that my parents decided to make a quik trip out to Europe to check on me and see how everything is doing for me. It was nice as they took some small trips around Europe while training was happening and its almost like they got a 2nd honeymoon out of it. They spent 4 days in Paris visiting all the bakeries and eating all the pain au chocolat in the city. They then took a flight to London and spent 3 nights in North London. Honestly, I'm just so glad they had so much fun here in Europe. This past week, training has been insane. I genuinely didn't think I'd have the time to spend writing this out between my parents being here and practice/gym work but some how I found the time so far. Theres been a lot of deadlifts, squats, bench this week. Like, too much. My tiddy's hurt a lot. My butt hurts. My arms are noodles, like the fat kind of pasta. My everything hurts a lot all the time to be honest but today I aggravated my disk when I went for a deadlift. One of my best friends from my childhood is a chiropractor so I gave him a quik call up and he had a contact out here surprisingly. One of this classmates in school moved out to Malmo for an opportunity to do research on something (I don't know to be honest, I'm just a big meathead). I got into her office and we spent one hour together assessing if all my muscles were firing and not out of place and such. We did an adjustment and some type of electric acupuncture and holy hell my entire back, arms, and everything felt incredible. I felt as if I was in offseason again. It sounds like I need t visit her more often and get my body alignment in proper shape. A lot of my back was wacko and thats why I was forcing myself to do certain things. I went to training the next day like a new guy, and we had a home game against Calgary the day after and I got 3rd star of the game. I had a huge performance and I got to attribute it all to my chiropractor who set me straight. Well, this is where I'm going to end off. Michael Johnson

  4. Gerald: This is Gerald Scott of the Burnaby Now Newspaper. I'm here today with the rookie, Michael Johnson of the Malmo Nighthawks, who is in the middle of his rookie year in the VHL. Michael: Hello! Thank you for having me here, it's always been a personal dream to get on here since I was in high school when I'd get a copy before I hopped on my bus! Gerald: Well, I'm glad to have made a dream come true for you! How has your rookie year been? Michael: It's been pretty alright, we could obviously improve as a team but I think we're working really hard and getting better everyday. I don't think there was any huge expectations on the team coming into the season. We're young and we know it'll take us some time to showcase our skills. Gerald: Makes total sense. Since you guys are young, would you say that theres some partying involved thats creating bad habits with the team? Michael: If I'm honest, yeah we're having some fun on the side but we're working hard as well and it's not a main priority to us. We also think we're in our young years so life is also precious but we're willing to sacrifice a lot. Gerald: Thank you so much Michael for answering our questions. I hope you have a strong showing this season! 228 words

You merely tasted the management. I was born in it, moulded by it. I didn't see the blue collars until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but BLINDING! The management betrays you, because it belongs to me!

  8. 07/25/2019: Holy, I realized this week how it's going to be in the league. We've been working our asses off every single day and all it takes it for me to have a bad game. Granted, I'll be super pumped when I get it all together. I knew this season is going to be a tough season since it was my first time at the highest level of hockey. I'm having fun though, honestly. I've been getting lots of advice and positivity from all the vets in the league and especially from my teammates. I've been hitting the gym really hard in order to increase my speed and acceleration. I realized I needed this skillset in order to play the type of game that will be compatible with me. I'm trying to go the 2011 Tim Thomas style, aggressive but smaller and very difficult to beat in the net. I've been increasing my size, agility and skating so I can help supplement my reactions which in turn helps the core skill sets in hand speed, style, and rebounds. We have some huge expectations for me in a few seasons. I really do not want to move to another VHL team so I've been working my butt off to stay here. Okay, one thing I noticed about people here in Sweden is that nobody likes to do small talk at all and when they do, they go into the very gory details thats going on in their life. It's nice being in a city thats anti-social as hell but when speaking with people, they're willing to share all their gory details like how their kids are a pain in the ass or the dentist pulled a tooth out and changed 500 euros for it. Also, everyone in public try to talk cute, like if you were talking to a baby. Guys talk to guys this way, its normal.... Like its a social norm out here. What the hell? It's weird, I still love Malmo but I got to get used to the norms over here. Oh, Shad sent over some new training regimes to improve my explosiveness. He said that this might be the program for the rest of the year since this type of training takes time and consistency to grow. I've been running this program for the past week and every single muscle in my body is being used. The recovery process is very rigorous and to be honest, I've never been so tired or sore. Rub A535 has literally been my best friend, I'm almost putting it into the family section. I also started to go to a chiropractor and got some electric acupuncture done on my right shoulder the other day. It was strange to feel all the blood flowing on my right arm all over again. To be fair, it was also weird to be on a table while the right side of my back was twitching and somehow that ties with my pecs and arm but hey, let's trust the process. Even though it's a chiropractic process. Michael Johnson

  10. Thank you for the chance, @Banackock and @DilIsPickle! Cant wait for the WJC!
  11. 1. How did you come up with your name? It's been my nickname, I just threw a GG at the end of the sake of it. 2. Do you have any long term VHL goals, HOF, championship, well known player? I just wanna be an all star goalie. Nothing more, nothing less. 3. Why did you pick the position you play? I've always played goalie! 4. We recently have gone 50/50 on our games, how do you feel about this? I think we could be doing better honestly, but I think thats down to how I'm setting the lines. 5. We currently have Thorvald Gunnarsson 2nd in shutouts at 4, do you predict our defence/goalie is going to continue playing this hot? He's been incredible. I'm very happy for him and I know he's been working hard to get here. 6. Has anybody stood out to you so far, if so who? Outside of Halifax, Hugh Chan (the former Halifax defender). On the Halifax team, Valentino has been an absolute rock at the defence. Super proud of all our first years though!
