    fonziGG got a reaction from Pifferfish in VHLM All-Stars - By Fonzi
    I am somehow maintaining my extreme activity by writing this. I have a feeling, it's just been a fun time for me to be back in the league so in a weird way, this is a pleasure to write. As you guys know, my current player Yermolai Nabakov, is in the VHLM so I'll be focusing on the VHLM all-stars this season. I hate to say it but the VHLE seems boring as I see 0 coverage for them. However, that's just an observation and maybe I'm just entirely wrong. Anyways, we should probably get to it right?

    VHLM All-Star First Team
     Left Wing - Forum Content @frescoelmo
    29G/52A/81P +16
    Forum Content has been blazing heat this season in Saskatoon and it's no surprise he would be. The frescoelmo agency has always popped out certified bangers of players and Forum Content is nothing short but that. He's been leading the points total all season long until just recently but it would be a surprise to nobody if he stepped into another gear and jumped into another level. We're excited to see where Forum Content can go in the draft as well as he's such an impressive prospect and we expect him to be the in the top 5 picks.

     Center - Antonia Bucatini @CowboyinAmerica
    29G/30A/59P  -22
    Antonia Bucatini could be one of the most impressive players in the VHLM and the statistics aren't even supporting her. Antonia is another lottery pick in the upcoming VHL draft, in my opinion. Coming out of the CowboyinAmerica agency who also has been a well known commodity in the space, we can expect Antonia to explode when it comes time to head to the VHL/E. She's built to be a perennial top line center and is already somewhat showing it in the VHLM. She really can do almost everything possible. She already leads the league in face-offs won as well, which is a huge + for any team in the VHL.

     Right Wing - Yermolai Nabokov @fonziGG
    37G/46A/83P +28
    The surprise of the season, honestly. Nobody expected a player out of fonziGG's agency to really come out of the gates in the VHLM and strong arm. Actually, to be fair, their players tend to flop in the VHL but never the VHLM or VHLE. However, after seeing how Yermolai has been playing, we might see a useful player in there. They're big at 6'8" and extremely strong. Yermolai has been the engine of the Philadelphia Reapers this season and has even heard the coaching staff say he has captaincy material at higher levels. He wants to win and has been pushing his teammates to lead the way as well which is an intangible prospects don't usually have. Due to the agency of this player, we could see him drop out of the top 5. In fact, we could also see him drop out of the first round.

     Defenseman - Bric Sheithaus @Oldhead91
    14G/58A/72P +19
    Bric Sheithaus is from a newer agency in Oldhead91. What is most exciting about him is his ability to get down and block shots, leads the league in hits and is an intangible as a player. While they have been drafted to the VHL (Riiga) 3 seasons ago, it's no surprise he's been an all-star that has been included in this list. We hope to see more out of Bric and would love to see him at the VHL level.

     Defenseman - Enn Jinn @jhatty8
    19G/52A/71P 78 Hits
    Lets just say, bro is cooking for a defender. 68 points is no feat and from the jhatty8 agency, we can expect only a great role player for the VHL. While they need some support, that doesn't mean that they won't turn out. I have tons of faith in this agency to get all cylinders firing and will be a huge contributor in the VHL pretty soon. 78 hits is also a great contribution on the defensive side. Lets hype out Enn Jinn cause he's going to be a legend.

     Starting Goalie - Jorgen Lovstrom @Pifferfish
    .920 SV% || 2.31 GAA || 35W/4L/3 OTL
    Lovestrom has to be the best goalie in the VHL at the moment. There is a reason Philadelphia is leading the league and while Nabokov and Enn Jinn are huge parts of that, I'd argue Lovstrom is the largest piece to the pie. Lovstrom is 1st in SV% and GAA with goalies who has played more than 20 games and is tied for 1st with SO's with 2. What makes it impressive is that he's faced the 5th most shots. Also he's got 5 assists so you know he's a certified banger of a pick for any team looking for a goalie for this statistic alone.

    Thats my all star team currently. I know there's barely any Las Vegas Aces representation but I find that their most impressive player has to be Bric Shithaus and unfortunately I don't think their top players beat out players like Bucatini, Nabokov and Content. Maybe Hugo Boss? But he doesn't beat out Lovstrom either. I'm sorry but yeah LVA isn't so impressive and if there's a huge influx of recruits soon, we could see them shedding some IA bums for players who are earning heavy TPE (considering the VHLM is about development not winning right guys?)

    Last but not least, I just want to say thank you to the community. A lot of you have been supportive of me coming back knowing I'll probably drop off into IA world again soon. Ya'll have been cool, especially the Philly family which gives a huge shoutout to @Lemorse7 as a GM. Can't wait to see what we do at TDL and I hope it's something BIG. Huge. Massive. All of the above. I want to see Philly go deep this season, mainly because I've never done well in the VHLM as a player (unless I'm misremembering so my bad). I'd like to notch a win title win which I think we have a surprising amount of availability to do this season. Ultimately, this is a developmental league so, lets all develop and I can't wait to see us kick off in the VHL together.

    Midseason standings update and trade deadline thoughts.

    Now that we are midway through the season and the trade deadline is fast approaching we're going to take a quick look at the standings and give our thoughts on how things will play out. Currently the Philadelphia Reapers are leading the league with a 7 point cushion over 2nd place San Diego, but right behind them is Las Vegas with Miami, Houston, and Mexico right behind them. So out of these 7 teams I could see anyone of them pushing for top spot by seasons end especially depending on if they pick up a much needed piece or two at the deadline. The bottom four teams are in descending order the Ottawa Lynx, Halifax 21st, Saskatoon Wild, and the Missisauga Hounds these three teams have some very nice pieces though and could likely move some to look towards next year as there is likely not much chance of a deep run even though two of these teams will clinch the final two playoff spots. They however have some players that I'm sure teams are asking about let's look at one from each roster.

    Ottawa Lynx - Ivan Ivanov - @KmaddFPS
    Halifax 21st - Antonia Bucatini - @CowboyinAmerica
    Saskatoon Wild - Forum Content - @frescoelmo
    Missisauga Hounds - Wernher von Braun - @Prof. Zach Enron

    there are other notable players on each team too but these are the ones that jump out at us when we look, each of these players would be a huge shot in the arm for a team looking to go all the way this year. The question remains if the bottom four teams want to give up on this year or try to be a dark horse in playoffs though. Either way the final weeks of the season will be exciting as this close race for top spot winds down, we expect it to be one to three points separating first and second this year.

    fonziGG reacted to Tetricide in VHLM All Star Game Roster Announcement!
    Hey everyone, my name is Bobbus Dingus on the Victory Hockey Network (not to be confused with the VSN!) and welcome to the Season 92 VHLM All Star Game announcement! I know it's been a long time since some of you have seen me, but long story short I've been doing a lot of heavy lifting behind the scenes! Anyway, I'm very excited to be your host on today's announcement on the return of the All-Star Games. It would seem the VHLM commissioners have finally come out of their inactive slumber and thrown some fun into the mix for our future prospects. Our main event will be the actual game itself of the fan favorites in the Western Conference against those in the Eastern Conference! Each conference will have at least two players from each team. Here are your finalists!

    Western Conference
    🏒 First Line 🏒
     Left Wing - Forum Content @frescoelmo 🇨🇱
    38G/38A/76P || +16 || 12.66 SHT%
    Born right out the hot gates of Santiago, Chile and drafted to Saskatoon during his stay in the taint of Texas (Waco) is Forum Content. A winger with strengths and hockey sense in all the right places to be the next Scotty Campbell, adding some spice and flare to his goal attempts making goalies watch for his number. It is no surprise Forum Content scored so high as a fan favorite.
     Center - Caesar Monterrey @CaptainGatsby 🇲🇽
    20G/32A/52P || +11 || 10.53 SHT%
    Does anyone have any background info on this guy?! Because we sure don't. We'd love to know the man known as CAESAR MONTERREY! Not too far from home in Mexico... There's actually a city in Mexico called Monterrey...did you know that? Anyway, Monterrey here is the best centerman in the west winning 56.16% of his faceoffs out of a total of 1,569 and Vegas fans absolutely love this guy!
     Right Wing - Trimiskez Artav @jake 🇬🇱
    30G/37A/67P || +26 || 14.63 SHT%
    Houston's Trimiskez Artav has been rightfully selected to represent the first line in the western conference. An absolute treat to watch on the ice, Artav is a true testament of how a versatile forward with incredible hockey sense can be with the right teammates to support his playstyle.

    ✋ 1st Defensive Pairing 🤚
     Bric Sheithaus @Oldhead91
    14G/54A/68P ||157 Hits || 97 Shots Blocked
    Vegas's Bric Sheithaus has been turning heads nearly leading the league in hits and tied for most points as a defenseman. Make sure to look for his number on the ice, otherwise you'd almost miss him at 5'10"!
    Benjamin Abenduct - @Schnee
    17G/42A/59P || 128 Hits || 70 Shots Blocked
    Ontario-born engineering prodigy turned hockey defenseman Benjamin Abenduct is such a cool dude to watch. He's got a great personality in interviews, and genuinely a great kid on-and-off the ice! I wonder if he can build me a robot that can wash dishes for me...

    🏒 Second Line 🏒
    Left Wing - Jean-Pierre Devote @eagle_3450 🇲🇨
    39G/37A/76P|| +17 || 15.42 SHT%
    Devote, the "Monacan Menace" as I've dubbed him, is a man to be feared on the ice. Never mind his current record... It's his 100 hits and leading all left wingers in the league with 45 shots blocked as a forward that you should be mostly worried about if you're not a Marlin. A man to be feared on the ice if you aren't already watching for his number!
    Center - Adam @Adam Ma 🇨🇦
    15G/41A/56P || +25 || 10.95 SHT%
    Adam is an anomalous individual that has recently joined the league as a waiver for the Marlins and is rippin' it up on the ice. Despite a sub 50% win rate at faceoffs, his production certainly makes up for it. I think with the right strength training, Adam could be a nightmare for other teams!
    Right Wing - Annie Oaks @Noodle Enjoyer 🇬🇧
    30G/33A/66P || -1 || 13.33 SHT%
    If you haven't seen Sheffield local Annie Oaks on the ice, she is an absolute rock star! The 5'10" British youngster has not only been running circles around her competition, but also throwing them into the boards with a staggering 96 completed hits. We're really looking forward to seeing her take on the East!

    ✋ 2nd Defensive Pairing 🤚
    Lucy Leitner @LucyXpher
    14G/44A/58P || 123 Hits || 72 Shots Blocked
    Space City's very own Lucy, the "Lightbringer", Leitner has been lighting up the net and bodying players since she was just a kid. The smooth transition from her upbringing into the VHL's minors is no surprise as she puts up some impressive numbers including some gnarly hits that's sent her to the sin bin a few times.
     Free Gorlab @eaglesfan036
    23G/33A/56P || 137 Hits || 97 Shots Blocked
    It's true...Gorlab has retired from the league, but he's played enough games in the regular season to be eligible to play and he will! Gorlab has also been making sure people check his number before they decide to drop the gloves.

    🥅 Goal Tending 🥅
    Starting Goalie - Aleksanteri Kaskiniemi-Kekkonen @Snussu
    SV% 0.901 || GAA 2.63 || 29W/16L/3 OTL
    Holding the 2nd best GAA and a save percentage above .900, Kekkonen may have all the sugar, spice, and everything nice to shut everything down before it even crosses the blue line towards him. Even if it does, he's faced enough shots against (3rd most at 1,296) to hopefully hit 'em with the blocker or glove save!
    Backup Goalie - Samuel Wazinski @samthemancub 🇵🇱
    SV% .903 || GAA 2.89 || 29W/18L/3 OTL
    Wazinski may be the backup here, but don't sleep on this guy. He's had a total of 1,509 shots against him which is 187 more than the next highest!

    Eastern Conference
    🏒 First Line 🏒
    Left Wing - Wayne Shotzky @Kenamatic 🇨🇦
    38G/38A/76P || +11 || 12.71 SHT%
    Wayne Shotzky...could he be the next Gret--I mean Cambell? I think it's certainly a possibility with his production! We can already see the stars in the up-and-coming Canadian legend Shotzky and our fans seem to agree with him being voted so high to play in the All-Star Game!
     Center - Antonia Bucatini @CowboyinAmerica 🇮🇹
    29G/30A/59P || -22 || 9.29 SHT%
    Bucatini follows every letter in the saying, "when in Rome, do as the Romans." Except..well..she is from Rome! She is the strongest at faceoffs with a 57.45% faceoff win rate and has taken the most so far this season at an astounding 1,746! Add in the impressive record (let's forget about the +/- for a second) and you have a monster on the ice who is not afraid to take on anyone. A well-deserved first line position for a future prospect.
    Right Wing - Yermolai Nabokov @fonziGG 🇷🇺
    37G/46A/83P || +28 || 12.89 SHT%
    Yermolai Nabokov, the Russian Lumberjack standing 6'8" without skates, has been annihilating his opponents left and right. A huge contributor to Philly's success at the top of the board by 14 points, the West will need all the defense they can muster to stop the Lumberjack from cutting them down!

    ✋ 1st Defensive Pairing 🤚
    Enn Jinn @jhatty8 🇰🇲
    17G/51A/68P || 78 Hits || 87 Shots Blocked
    Enn Jinn is probably Philly fan's favorite 2nd only to Nabokov! His production has been amazing and honestly some incredible defensive measures taken on the ice.

    Bilbo Teabaggins @SackButter
    17G/37A/54P || 92 Hits || 67 Shots Blocked
    From the Shire himself, Teabaggins has been hitting local Miami papers (a lot of tabloids, tbh) on what his actual origins are and whether or not he has a lot of hair on his feet. It doesn't matter. What matters is he's helping keep Miami afloat on the defensive side of things and people are noticing!

    🏒 Second Line 🏒
    Left Wing - Matthew Highmore @NineIQ v2 🇨🇦
    29G/31A/60P || -1 || 9.97 SHT%
    Miami's Matthew Highmore -- oh, captain, my captain! A Marauder playing his second season and on pace for another 90+ point season. Highmore has certainly been integral in Miami's success so far and will definitely be depended on in the ASG!
     Center - Wernher von Braun @Prof. Zach Enron 🇩🇪
    24G/27A/51P || -15 || 11.82 SHT%
    A strange pick from our fans, in fact one might think they were trolling... It's inconceivable to believe von Braun has just above a 40% faceoff win rate for someone with his stature. A lanky 6ft centerman with barely any strength and his stats could just be why Mississauga fans mass voted him.
    Right Wing - Ivan Ivanov @KmaddFPS 🇷🇺
    30G/49A/79P || +8 || 10.07 SHT%
    The Russian Rabbit known as Ivan Ivanov is exactly what this line needed. Speed -- and some damn good hockey sense! The speed this kid has is dangerous, and he knows how to use it well to create space and score.

    ✋ 2nd Defensive Pairing 🤚
     Pierre Ennis @DeciBell4 🇫🇷
    8G/35A/43P || 137 Hits || 84 Shots Blocked
    Ennis is not a man of many words. He lets his actions speak for him. 137 hits and 84 blocked shots is hard to ignore, and our Miami fans made sure the ASG commission couldn't. It's not about the points, it's about the journey of bodies we leave sliding across the ice from a questionable hit.
     John Season @dylanjj37 🇫🇷
    12G/21A/23P || 100 Hits || 129 Shots Blocked
    John freakin' Season. Where do I even start with this guy? He could be a one hit wonder, but right now he's a one hit K.O. Wherever the puck is, Season is right there to make sure it's in the right hands. Are you in good hands?

    🥅 Goal Tending 🥅
     Starting Goalie - Jorgen Lovstrom @Pifferfish 🇬🇱
    .920 SV% || 2.31 GAA || 35W/4L/3 OTL
    Greenland doesn't have much representation in the ASG and Lovstrom may not be very tall for an ideal goalie, but he has absolutely been slaughtering the competition. Especially when you compare how many wins HE has to how many any other team has...period. With two shutouts in the regular season and two Reapers to join his side in the ASG, it will be nearly impossible to get one by this guy.
     Backup Goalie - Marc-Andre Fleury @ElementStyx9 🇨🇦
    .907 SV% || 3.24 GAA || 16W/15L/1 OTL
    Fleury has played a lot less games than our other listed goalies here, which makes him kind of a wild card selection here. Mississauga fans have welcomed him with open arms and high praise after a messy start of the season. It seemed like no one was home in net (Gage Barclay, is that you?), but the fairly new signing has forced Fleury to sink or swim.

    That concludes this season's All-Star Game roster announcement! Thank you for tuning in! My name is Bobbus Dingus with the Victory Hockey Network, and we'll see you on the February 7th at the Jolt Juice Arena in Minnesota!

    With Season 92 now past its halfway point and the trade deadline one week away, it's a natural time to consider which VHLM players have been most important to their teams so far.  It is the opinion of this writer that the VHL/VHLE/VHLM should have All-Star Games and in lieu of official selections, I decided to make my own selections and put together two All-Star rosters for the VHLM.

    The Format: I envision the VHLM All-Star Game as a 3-on-3 contest because that format seems best suited to showcasing the skills of the most talented players in the league.  I selected one team each for the VHLM's Western and Eastern Conferences.  Each team consists of 12 skaters and 3 goalies-- that's 8 forwards and 4 defenders making up 4 lines. I would propose playing a 45 minute game with 3 periods at 15 minutes each.

    The Selections: I think any good All-Star roster should include players from every team in the league, but should ideally not omit any players who deserve to be there.  Thankfully, it was possible to create these lineups with at least two deserving representatives from each team (at least one skater), and no more than four from any single team.  There were inevitably a few deserving players that needed to be left off to make up these numbers and I will recognize them at the end.  Choosing goalies was the hardest because it's very difficult to compare their performances with drastic variations in games played and team quality.  I chose 20 games played as the minimum threshold for goalies who were selected, which unfortunately eliminated some goalies who have performed well in a small sample size.  I ordered the roster lists below by position and team alphabetically.

    Congratulations to all of the above players on their very successful seasons to this point.  I think having an actual simulated All-Star Game would be a lot of fun just to see how combinations of the top players produce alongside each other.  I apologize to anyone who felt they should be included on the list.  There were a lot of deserving players and a number I listed who just didn't fit based on the criteria, despite having All-Star worthy seasons.  Adam, for example, centers possibly the hottest line in the VHLM right now between Devote and Shcrute.  I really wanted to include him but couldn't justify dropping another player.

    If you saw things differently or have other players you want to shout out, please feel free to tag them in a reply so they can also be recognized!

    I am going to win cup with Philly. I drag them to finals and I beat the living shit out of anyone who want to come to the finals. I respect them but I will fight everyone. Watch me win trophy and cup. I will do it alone if I have to. Hockey is team sport so I know my teammates very good but they must stand by me in the pursuit of the championship. We must fight and scrap for every inch on the ice. I am ready to body check and to pass the puck to open teammate. I am ready to shoot the puck and embarrass goalie if I have to. Even if it's sloppy goal, I will score. I love to score. I love to assist. I am here to win the game and be a champion. Thats who I believe I am. I am champion on the inside. I just have to put it on resume now. I am internalizing right now. I am champion of VHLM at end of season. If not, ofcourse I am upset but atleast we try. I just want to be able to say we try. The absolute bare minimum.

    I have to say, Yermolai has been impressive these last few weeks. 17 goals, 25 assists and 42 points in 25 games has been a huge start to this season. Yermolai is only 3rd on the scoring charts in the VHLM after having an incredibly slow start to the season. Nabakov has been putting in the work heavily in the gym and has been coming to the practice facility early to get more acclimated with the North American ice. Yermolai has been on a scoring tear but he also loves to share the biscuit with his teammates so that everyone gets a little bit of love.

    "My style of game is to play hard, strong and win the game. I have to score or pass to let teammate score is ok as long as we win the game. Back in Mother Russia, if I don't work harder then everyone, well theres another guy waiting to take my spot. Everyone hungry back home, I'm just the hungriest. There is saying.. He who doesn’t take risks doesn’t drink champagne. I'm willing to take risk. I'm willing to do everything for team. No stagnant here. I'm here for VHL championship. I take VHL Championship soon. You watch me."

    Serious words coming from the Russian prodigy. He's been hungry I suppose, maybe we can get the guy a burger or something. The way he can dominate on the ice is impressive and I genuinely believe he's ready for the next step in the VHLE. I'd even argue he might be able to crack a VHL team soon. Who knows? He is a mentality monster after all. I'm super excited to see him get drafted this coming season as well, I'm curious who he goes to and how far he falls in the draft due to him and his agency being controversial. However, he has mentioned in the past that he would like to fall in the draft.

    "I fall or I climb, either way... I am here to win games. I am here to win VHL Championship. In order to do that, you must take a bet on me. I hope no team drafts me so I can select where I go. I want to go to team that will win me championship. I want to win. Take me in 7th round, I don't care. If you are not taking seriously as GM, I don't stay. I will go and I will be ruthless about it."

    It sounds like he's not the type of person who will hesitate at all about free agency. He knows what he wants and obviously Yermolai will thrive, the question becomes where? I can't see him going to many different European teams. I could see him in a team like LA, Seattle or Malmo. However, if the tide isn't right and they're not seriously competing, I can see him going elsewhere in order to win. I suppose he really wants to challenge for a title and win and honestly, I can see that being everyones end goal I just think he will be willing to rip the bandaid off.

    fonziGG reacted to Pifferfish in VSN Presents: Weekly S92 VHLM Power Rankings
    Welcome to WEEK 2 of updated power rankings where I spend the first 50 words explaining how this works for a bit. Firstly, all additions and losses are based on who was in the lineup as of the January 18th sims. Some players may have been signed, released, or traded since that point in time and those were not considered in the new ranks or scores. Also, it may seems confusing but a team's score increasing does NOT necessarily mean an increase in rank. Every team has multiple players earning so they will mostly be increasing in score. Also, some teams may add players to the lineup but decrease in score, this is most likely the result of reducing the playing time of their best players. Last note, this data was collected before the week cutoff so some players have their TPE for this week while others do not. On each line of ranks and scores the first number represents the present and the number in parenthesis shows the change from last week. Enjoy the rankings!!!
