  2. Well this is turning out to be a challenging season as the LA Stars are still trying to find a good lineup. It is still early in the season to make several changes so there isn't any panic at this point. The sporadic play has all of us scratching our heads. Of course this in nothing new and is just part of the whole Simon T adventure. I don't think I have ever seen a season where everything worked how you would expect it to. With some tweaks here and there I expect us to get going in the right direction sooner than later. We have some really good players that haven't found their groove yet and some has lost a step or two this season which makes things even more interesting and difficult to adjust. On a bright note, we have some youth that has shown some really good skills and have stepped up in a big way. I think this is going to be a changing of the guard type season as we see new faces on the score sheet. It is always good to have young talent ready to step into bigger roles. LA will be a good team by the end of the season.
  3. Review: Good looking sig. I like the simple design and the focus on the render. Your color palette choices are stellar. Blue and gold really works and you have a good balance in it's usage. Text is very clean and I like the format of these short sigs. The heavy vignette looks good here and adds to the render focus. Great job. 9/10
  4. Review: I really like the style of this graphic. Good format and the render is dominate. Smudging looks good and the text fits the theme. I really like the color frenzy with this style. Only thing the sticks out is that the render has been flipped and the numbers and CCM are backwards. Good job. 9/10
  5. 1. Your thoughts on how the team has done so far? Did you expect better or worse? I hoped for better but expected a rollercoaster season. 2. What is the teams biggest weak point and how do you think we can go about fixing it? We have talent. Hard to get all the players working at the same time. 3. What has worked well so far this season? It's hard to tell. We play really good at both ends of the ice and then completely don't show up for the next game. 4. What songs always gets you hyped up before a game? Who's the Locker Room DJ? Josh gets us going in the locker room. He keeps playing everything in his Bee Gee's collection. Makes us want to hit the ice fast. 5. For your player what do you need to improve on for the overall team to be successful? I have to score more but I think I am where I expected to be. 6. what is something that you can't live without? What is something you could totally live without? Red meat has been my steady diet for years so I won't want to be without real meat. Tofu...wtf is that shit.
  6. Well here we go. The season still has milk on it's lips and the teams are coming out with a bang. It looks good for LA after the small handful of games played. We have many players that will play a bigger role this season and some new players that are developing into legit team players. I predict by the end of this season, LA Stars will have a balanced attack and improved defense. Our special teams need to click better but that just takes some time to get some confidence. Injecting youth while having aging players is the best way to move forward. That is exactly what is happening this season and we should have a few players with career highs. With so much talent in development, it doesn't take a huge amount of skill to make the top ten. I look for second year players to do really well and we have a couple that have dropped in skill but will be a solid foundation for the team moving forward. It will be fun to watch the youth and LA as a team grow for the future.
  7. Review: Looks like a great start to the world of making graphics. I like the theme and you did a great job with you color palette choices. I would work on a bit of formatting and as you get better, some blending. Overall a great start. Keep up the good work. 7.5/10 @Ethan3Clark
  8. Review: Good clean render with an interesting background. Overall format seems to be balanced and is pleasing to look at. I like the font but feel there could have maybe been a better blend choice. Splatter effect isn't too strong and adds to the whole project. I would say it is a simple clean graphic that looks good. 8/10
  9. 1. How has your off season been? Fun filled non stop excitement. It's been a party every night. I think it should end soon since the season started. 2. Season starts soon. how excited are you? I am giddy as a school girl. I think we will see a few players really have great seasons. 3. If you were to play another sport what would it be? Competitive Checkers has a place in my heart. Or, a fireman. 4. Predict how many wins LA will have this season. We should be close to last season I would hope 5. Is LA winning the cup this year? That is what every player on the team hopes. I believe anything could happen. 6. Can you do anything with nothing? I know a guy that built a shopping mall out of chewing gum and a paper clip so yes, you can do something with nothing.
  10. Well it's that time of the year where training and thinking about the future comes into play. Training is a no brainer as any pro hockey player that's been around has a set routine. Things have changed a little bit as Merrick gets a bit older and his skills are not as sharp as his younger years. He is going to work on parts of his game that should help the team and maybe add a goal here and there. Regression hits everyone and sometimes it actually helps. Only time will tell if that's the case with Merrick. The LA Stars are chomping at the bit to get back into action. The locker room is buzzing and the hype has already started. I expect that we will be a strong team again and maybe even better than last season. It would be great to get into the playoffs again and make a push for the cup. I think that is on all my team mate's minds. Nobody wants to say it, but there is a good feeling about this next season. It could be our season. We will see.
  11. 1. How has your off-season been so far? Real busy trying to learn to skate and chew gum at the same time. 2. What are you doing to prepare for next season? Working out, eating good and staying away from the parties. 3. What is your biggest upgrade focus on? Just trying to maintain a good balance between defense and offense. 4. How do you want to spend the rest of your off season? I will take a nice break right before the season starts. 5. Who should La pick up in the draft? Anyone who is active. 6. Where do you plan to train this off season? Average Joe's gym is where I hang out.
  12. Review: A very nice looking prospect graphic. I like the logo swaps and clean render. Great detail on the face draws you right to him. Tasteful text is well placed and I really like the autograph other than I think it would look more authentic if the colors matched. Overall, great job. 9/10
  13. Review: Very nice graphic with a couple of tricky logo swaps, well done. The background is interesting and doesn't take away from the render, which is a good thing. I would have liked to see a full name and the team logo maybe enlarged and behind the render. I would say you did a fine job and will only get better. 8/10
  14. There are a lot of political based forums if you search for them. It doesn't take a lot to trigger some people and I think just going to a site that deals with that topic is better than convoluting a hockey sim. Next would be a religion channel and so on.
  15. Well the playoffs were exciting as the LA Stars showed some muscle as they dominated the first couple of rounds. It is very rewarding after being in the basement last season. The whole team stepped up their game and we had a really fun experience. We were matched to the playoff powerhouse team of Seattle and that was as far as we went. I don't feel bad about how we played, we just didn't have what it took to beat a team like Seattle who has always been a monster in the playoffs. I hope we learn from what went wrong as well as what went right. We are still moving forward as the players continue to develop. We should only get better from this point on. So time to get the sun tan lotion out and relax at the beach for a few weeks before hitting the ice for practice. Next season should be as fun as this one was and the team is looking forward to winning a cup sooner than latter.
  16. Review: For the most part, it looks fine. It looks like you are fairly new to making any graphics but you did some things that make for a good start in your sig making career. Logo swap is a big plus and your text isn't bad either. I would try cutting out your renders and making some sort of background as you progress with your skills. I like the effort and think you are headed in the right direction. Good job. 7.5/10
  17. Review: Good looking sig overall. Nice formatting and the background seems to work well with your render. Text looks good but your mixed font choices could have been better. I am not a fan of the paper tear but it seems to work with your project. The heavy render outline is another design choice that seems popular and yours follows suit. Not sure about the Bokeh/Splatter top layer but almost seems a bit strong. Overall an excellent example of this style. 8.5/10
