I was reading NHL article on Phoenix prospect Clayton Keller lol so i accidently wrote him in.

Last season New York entered a rebuild, they selected Sergei Komarov, and Igor Mjers to help with the forming of this core. Ike Arkander a goalie from Sweden declared he would only play in New York and would not leave Sweden without proof he will only play there. He now plays in the VHLM preparing to be New Yorks next best goalie. However thats is not what we are here to talk about, its the next wave the S57 draft class that brings in more players to build this franchise core. We will play a few scenarios and tell us who and why we feel they will be selected. First scenario is New York drafting first overall. Chase Keller This is a no brainer, barring him stating he does not wish to play here. He is the concensus number 1 pick. He is the total package a franchise player in the same elk, as Gabriel Mcallister last season. He has already shown himself to be an elite player on a bad team. Leading the VHLM with 11 goals in 5 games. Tying him with Sergei whose scored similar in 9. This would make for a leathal one two punch for the Americans for many seasons to come. Second scenario New York drafts 2nd. Boner Its possible he can fall, both Casey Jones and Mat Johnson are close on his heels. With Gow, Louth not too far behind them. However as it stands he is the net best prospect. A hard hitting defender who can anchor the blueline for a long time. Boner brings great pedigree just like Ay Ay Ron he will be a highly coveted defender in the draft. If he continues his pace he should likely be the 2nd overall choice this season. Now thats the Americans pick, onto Riga this pick could fall anywhere from 5-10 depending on how deep they go. Making it impossible to predict so early. So we will select a few names that could see themselves selected. Mats Johnson Hes unlikely to fall, i suspect out of the top 5 without a big push from others behind him. Alot of this is due to his position and the fact that 2 big names ahead of him are goalies. Which effects their stock. If he falls and others picked before him he seems like a legit man ready to be a top 2 man for years to come. Casey Jones Again like Mats it will play out depending on need and, preferance. Jones plays with Komarov and the two of them have great chemistry. It doesnt hurt that he is a top 2 defender with a HOF agent behind him either. Jeff Gow Will he bust or wont he? The Gow family has seen serious success in the VHL, however a few wonder if he is burnt out. If he can have the success his family has enjoyed. Things have worked out really well so far, and he could compliment Sergei or Keller if picked. Keaton Louth New face turning heads, him and Gow are the guys who have the most likely chance to fall to the Americans. That is not a knock on them. Last year they would be competing for top 3 and top 5. Just that strong a top end draft. Louth should slide in nicely to a top 4 role in the near future. The Americans should land 2 quality players, who can help build the core this team hopes to carry it too many cups in the near future.

At this point early in the VHLM season, Komarov has been a star. With 10 goals 8 assists in 8 games he not only leads the league, but surpasses his point total for all of last season. Not only is he league leading scorer, but he sits 2nd in FO%, 2nd in hits, 2nd in PIMs, and 2nd in plus minus. This is a far cry from what we saw from him last year. He is showing why the Americans, drafted him 3rd overall. The only guys really pushing him are franchise players Clayton Keller, Keaton Louth, and Casey Jones. These guys who are expected to make up the top of their class. These are game breakers and in their rookie season, are showing it. Komarov hopes his pace can keep going, if he can he should certianly be in talks for awards as the season comes to a close. Pavel is the only one, in the Komarov family, with an award. Sergei could have multiple in one VHLM season.

About a year and 8months ago i lost the love of my life to cancer as many of you know. Since then i have seem nobody till recently as i morned. I still to this day miss her and hold a place in my heart for her. 7 months ago i met this women, we started out just coworkers and friends. She fell for me rather quick. But i was not ready, wasnt that she was a bad women but i wanted to be ready. A few month in she convinced me to leave chase my dreams of starting my own company. She has helped my life, in every aspecy from helping with my almost 3 year old son now, i know crazy how time flies. To jump starting our company. All without asking or without anything in return. A month ago we decided to start seeing eachother. And today she breaks the news to me that we are expecting. i do not see this being a major issue with my activity going forward. But it is unexpected

The Americans, were excited for a new start. Perhaps a team that could finally get over the hump. What they didnt expect, was the communist take over. Drafted to be a big part of the franchise, third overall from Moscow Russia. Six foot eight, 250 pound hulking centerman Sergei Komarov. He was not expected to be the pick, even with his great progress he made most expected HOF agent latest player. There was even a gamble, they could pick Ho Lee Fook with his agents history in the league. However, he was selected to be the mew face of the Americans. His progress will be closely monitored with a selection so high comes great responsibility. Komarov has developed to be a big time scorer, who can hit like a truck, win a big draw, all well playing a responsibile two way game. The press was not happy with the selection however, mainly the southern fans who hate the commies, calling for the head of the already newly appointed GM. "We dont need no commies, this is America we play hockey the American way, its not fancy Russian iceskating". The press did not get any better when 7th overall Igor Mjers, the six foot four 200 pound defender. He too hails from Moscow, Russia and has shown suprisingly more progress than he did in his first season in the VHLM. Its is a good sign, as they expect him to play a big role next year. His biggest asset, is his boomong shot from the point, after that he has some solid positioning for a defender, with decent passing. His skill set, is expected to grow as he develops in juniors this season. He is much more raw than he has talent at this point. However if he can progress at a better rate he could develop into something solid down the line. 8th overall the Americans, Krisjan Harma the small, five foot eleven heavy 209 pound winger. He hails from Estonia, not a traditional hockey market. He is not expected to play more than a depth role, as a scorer on a bottom 6, his strongest asset is his shot and his ability to handle the puck. He is a strong skater, the problem? He is not expected to progress, he seemed to start off well but fell completly off the map. The rest of the picks, are not expected to make any impact not even expected to be signed to a deal. A fake news article, came out three days later, stating the Americans were moving to Russia to be the communists. It was frustrating, like pouring gasoline on an already heavy burning fire. Media, was all over it, its a PR nightmere for new GM who just finished putting out fires after trading the whole team. Luckly, he managed to squash the rumors, but mang fans still bitter wont buy Komarov or Mjers jerseys.

Drafted third overall, Komarov figures to be a big player in New York next year. However this season he will need to be a big part of Vegas, if they figure to win. He will be one of the most developed, players in juniors and will continue to hone his skills untill next season where he hopes to fight for the rookie of the year award. The hulking centermen still has questions about his offensive upside, Vegas needs them answered and soon. There is no question he can play defense, and win the draws but big numbers will be needed. His offensive game has taken off since being drafted, his shot heavily improved. His added strength should allow him to get off a booming shot from just about anywhere. It will allow him to get to the net with ease when you couple it with his 6'8 frame. Who can stop him? It will be a tall task to ask of any defender.
