Newly drafted D-man James Rose will be taking some questions that will make him a better player by 2 points now... 1) Looking at our draft, how do you feel about the upcoming season? Looking good so far! As long as we can stay active, we have no problems trying to beat anyone. 2) What are you top goals for your player this season? To have better stats and get more involved in getting more points. Another press conference anyone? 3) Other than Halifax, who do you think could be a top contender in the VHLM this season? Mexico had a great draft. We were at the bottom last season 4) What sort of build are you using for your player? Think Aaron Ekblad. All around 5) What are your thoughts on our logo? Are there any changes you'd make? Havent been keeping tabs on logo changes really, but I think it looks classy. 6) If you had to pick, which player in the league do you think is gonna win MVP this season? Someone with more points than me. Next Q 7) What's your favorite TV show? Its personal. 8. How do you pronounce neither? Is it Nigh-ther or Nee-ther? It's either. Or eether.. oh no I opened pandora box.... can I get extra points for that??

JAMES ROSE Defenseman Height 6'1 Weight 215 Hailing from Laval, in Montreal suburbia, James Rose started playing hockey after taking interest in playing NHL 94 with his friends coming home from school. "I started playing NHL 94 with my friends at each other places, and back in those days, the internet wasnt even a thing. Man we binged played the crap out of that cartridge...". That competitive desire got them out the basement and TV screen and onto playing street hockey. "I think it was those pickup games among ourselves and the neighborhood teenagers that eventually showed up that got my senses tuned in, I would start outclassing them very shortly." He learned to skate soon after and had a massive growth spurt at 13. "When I turned 13, I was sometimes mistaken for a high school senior. I officially joined competitive ice hockey in peewee A as a forward, and I kinda mastered skating very quickly, I even shocked myself." The recruiting coaches loved his size and his learning capacity. The next year in bantam hockey, they would slot him as a defenseman with double-letter team. "I learned so much that season..." said Rose. "It was high level for me, so I had to play catch up just to keep up. I learned hitting, positional play, tactics, matchups, although its beginner level compared to the pros. It was so hard, especially the first half of that season." He would get on pace with the rest of the team and by seasons end, he was on par. The following season, he found his dominant touch. "Things flowed in my favor from then on. I even had some scouts from the QMJHL interested in me by mid season." He would get drafted in the 4th round by the Blainville Boisbriand Armada as a 16 year old. "Now that first season was an experience" said Rose. "I didn't have great numbers, they didnt do justice for the type of game I played, when I did actually play" The second season saw him as a regular top 4, logging big minutes in key situations. "What I focused on most was my overall 2 way game, that season. We even made the playoffs and had a decent run". I was looking forward to getting drafted in the NHL as a 17 year old, but his name was never called. Last season in the Q, he put up great numbers. Unfortunately with the COVID19 pandemic, the season was cut short. Scouts were looking at him in the 2nd or 3rd rounds, touted by some to be a steal. "For someone to start playing late, he could be a prodigy.." some scouts speculated. However, other opportunities came up elsewhere. He looked to the VHL and got quickly contacted by Mexico City GM Motzaburger... 1. Who do you think is going to get drafted 1st overall in the VHLM and you do you think is going to go first overall in the VHL? That SS Hornet looks like slam dunk 1st overall pick in the VHL draft, and in the dispersal draft I think Lucas Brandt or even my former teammate Chris Hylands has a shot to go first. 2. What's the best part of the season for you? Just playing hockey. It's a rollercoaster, just enjoy the rode while it lasts. 3. Do you have any summer/off-season sports you play to stay in shape? Mostly just weightlifting and staying in shape is key for me. 4. How do you think the Kings will do next season? Anything better than a last place finish would be great! 5. If each player got an individual goal song what would yours be? Hmm, Korn - Here to Stay. That booming intro... 6. If/when you win a cup, how will you celebrate? Eat some sun chips, not giving a fffffffff... BANGARANG!

James Rose sits at the press conference... 1. How is your off-season going? It's going as planned. Keeping busy despite the circumstances. 2. Who do you think is going to go on to win the VHLM cup? My bet is on Ottawa. They were a powerhouse this year. 3. If you went up right now, which VHL team would you want to play for? Oh I'd play for any team. 4. What are your goals for next season? Score more, play more, more points, better plus minus stat! 5. If you had to switch positions right now, what would you switch to? Probably goalie or RW 6. Do you have any good youtube videos you've been watching lately? Been looking at some ff14 videos, that's been a help in my off season adventures!

1. How do you feel about missing the playoffs? Not that great but it's been quite an experience still. 2. Where do you see yourself landing in the VHLM dispersal draft? (or the VHL draft) Probably 2nd round some where, pick 15-20? 3. Who were Mexico's top players this season? MacBurn, myself and Moore 4. What are your thoughts on the new "latecomer" TPE rules? Didnt we already have this discussion recently? My stance hasn't changed 5. What stonk are you investing in next week? 5g 6. What's you favourite fast food restaurant and why is it McDonalds? Damned be those golden arches, it must be all that salt

1. Only a handful of games left. What do we need to do to turn it up an extra notch and get some wins? Probably get some more TPE, change the lines up? 2. What are your feelings on the new TPE catch up rules? The new rules dont affect me, so I have no opinion on that.... next question 3. What forum improvements (games, etc.) from other leagues would you like to see in the VHL? Probably a 2 week bonus for new recruits to be competitive, like doubles week x2 but applies to practicing, welfare, pressers, trivia, even experience. 4. We've got 2 players, @BigTittySmitty and @DizzyWithLogic, who are in the top 10 of shot blocks. What makes them so good at stopping the puck? We have weathered alot of storms this season, so sometimes surrogate goaltending gives us a chance to win tight games 5. We've all been stuck inside for a while, what are you gonna do first when things get back to normal? Get a pizza. A nice huge protein and cholesterol heavy brunch sounds goods too 6. What games, movies, music, or books have you been consuming lately? Ps4 ff14, binge watching Ozark s3 and I discovered this Waagal guy on YouTube, excellent musician. You may not like that style but that's neither here or there. Thanks guys...

1. I think it should be 3 points for a win. A I think alot of teams in the final games needing wins would pull their goalies and take the huge risk, making it entertaining for the fans. 2. Canada! 3. Chicken and pasta with green vegetables. Standard staple. Protein carbs and vitamins 4. Longer stick. Better reach and less strain on the back 5. Cmon, we do, it's no contest! 6. Animals with 4 legs suits me fine, but thanks for asking

1. We rule in black market dealings, you know, being the Cartel and all. 2. Scoring, defense and puck handling. Sure helps manage the game better WHEN YOU CAN DO THINGS WITH THE PUCK. 3. Its a logo. I'm forced to wear that sweater with logo, even if it looked like a giant turd, or Taylor Swifts face. 4. I let the younger guys on the team deal with that kind of thing. 5. Being from Canada and all, I'm perfectly bilingual. Alors, mange la marde maudit caliss... bet you dont know what that means ehh? 6. We and the guys should take him to a Tool concert with some shrooms in tow. Taylor Swift sure wont be there.
