Garsh reacted to hylands in a new adventure for jebediah big ol doinks in amish
on the island of saint lucia, after a hard day of smoking loud, star hockey player jebediah big ol doinks in amish made the decision to take his talents to the big city of houston. however, this decision didn't come easy for jebediah. there were many questions to be asked first. questions like, will there be any big ol doinks for him to smoke in houston? how will he get his loud? when it's nice out will anyone ever hit his line? despite all of these burning questions, the temptation of making it big in the vhl was just too much for him to pass up.
"im pretty excited to see what kind of loud they have in houston, i've heard lots of good things about this city."
jebediah has never been one to put in the most amount of effort in practice or eat healthy to keep up with his fitness, and he arrives in houston with only his equipment and big ol doinks. it will be a big step up for him, but he is confident in his abilities. the team is looking great on paper and the entire roster is looking forward to what this season will have in store for them.

Season 88 Experience Points
Congratulations to all @Members for the completion of another successful VHL season, as well as to the London United for taking home their first Continental Cup. As always, with the season past, all VHL players have earned some more experience....
But wait, that's not all! Before I get into the usual yada yada I want to point out the rest of the title up there: Experience for VHLM & VHLE! The commish team and BOG have decided that the time is right to have the VHLM and VHLE receiving some experience as well. Now there's will not be as complicated or plentiful but it's still something. Anyone who participated in the VHLM or VHLE in S88 is eligible to claim 3 Experience Points.
Okay, moving into the rest of the post now.
How to Claim
Claim experience in the Player Management area by clicking the 'CLAIM UNCAPPED' button, select Off-Season, then select Experience from the dropdown. Enter the amount of Experience you are eligible for as described below and link to this thread.
Once approved, the Experience will be added directly to your player's experience attribute. You do not need to apply it yourself.
NOTE: YOU CAN NOT CARRY OVER EXPERIENCE POINTS EARNED BY A RETIRED PLAYER ONTO A RECREATE
POINTS
Full VHL Season - 5 Points
Partial VHL Season - 2 points (Less than 72 GP in VHL, unless due to a trade)
Playoffs - 2 Points
Finals - 1 Point
VHLE (Any Amount) - 3 Points
VHLM (Any Amount) - 3 Points

Garsh reacted to der meister in Anxious to Move On
What else is there to say that has not already been said? This has been a tumultuous season for defenseman Ryuji Sakamoto, who saw himself become part of 4 different rosters in the span of 2 months. The most successful stint came with the New York Americans, who ended up missing the playoffs. With the Americans, Sakamoto posted a goal and 14 assists in 22 games, for a 0.68 points-per-game pace, which is still below what he registered with the Seattle Bears last season.
Still, despite the near-constant shuffle, Sakamoto ended up with 34 points, 167 hits, and 171 blocked shots. None of these numbers are career highs, but with the instability with regard to team, partner, strategy, time zone, country, and even continent, it's not terribly surprising.
Heading into the offseason, Sakamoto will, for the first time in his career, become an unrestricted free agent. He hasn't told me much in terms of what he's looking for in potential suitors, but I'd imagine stability and a team strategy that makes the best use of his skill set is high on the list.
What was once a promising career, one of consistent growth, highlighted by an outstanding playoff run with the Bears, is now at one of uncertainty. How much will VHL general managers take into account the prior performances with evaluating Sakamoto's stock in free agency? He has shown that he can be a key player on a team, as long as he is given the opportunity, but he's also shown that he needs to be put in the right role to be successful. I suppose that's no different than any other player, but for some reason, it seems like the spotlight has been focused on Sakamoto since the time he entered the league, and rarely for the right reasons. Whether it was his sudden departure from the Toronto Legion following a change in management, his alleged illicit activities in Seattle, and the roller coaster of franchises he's been with since that point in time. Perhaps it's a karmic rebalancing.
Personally, I still believe Sakamoto has a lot to offer a team. As a top pairing defenseman with the right partner and coaching, I believe he can be a near point-per-game player over the course of a 72-game season, and he has shown that he can dominate when the playoffs start. His style of game is tailor-made for the grind of the post-season – the trick is getting there.
Another item Sakamoto will undoubtedly be looking for in free agency is a coach and general manager who are good communicators. Based on his commentary to me, as his embedded reporter, this facet is not something that can be taken for granted. Some general managers have been supportive and engaging, while others simply never spoke to him or responded to his inquiries as it relates to a meeting, whether formal or informal. At times, it has seemed that Sakamoto has felt like he is adrift, on an island of his own, somehow trying to navigate unknown waters with no direction or feedback, and no insight. Based on the hardening of his jaw and the gritting of his teeth, I can guarantee you he will not tolerate that particular indignity any longer.

Garsh reacted to aimkin in Wedding Update!
Jesse Teno and their fiancé were spotted all over London this past weekend with a photographer. Rumor has it that this was for their official engagement photoshoot. It is unclear as to whether or not these pictures will be posted publicly or to social media but from those who saw them, they said that they looked happy.
Jesse was seen posing in front of the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, the London Bridge walking path, and even in front of the London United arena. Even the United’s mascot got in on the pictures.
There is still no officially announced date for the wedding but Jesse has hinted at the celebration taking place back home in Vermont. Jesse’s fiancé was spotted on her own walking into a wedding planner’s office in Manchester so it does look like the planning is fully under way.
We wish Jesse and their fiancé all the luck in putting together what we are sure will be a beautiful wedding.

Garsh reacted to aimkin in Teno is Frustrated
Frustration grows inside the London United’s defending zone as goalie Jesse Teno continues to rack up over time and shoot out losses. Teno is currently tied for first in the league in OT losses with 8 alongside Vancouver’s Brandt Fuhr and Toronto’s Joel Castle. “I honestly don’t know what is going on,” said the Vermont native. “I have these great games overall and then when it comes to overtime, it’s like everything I know just goes out the window.” Quite despondent, Teno is also upset about their general fall within the standings. “I’m just hanging on to top 10 in wins and barely managing to keep my save percentage there too.” Despite being one of the lesser shot and scored on goalies, Jesse Teno definitely struggles to remain consistent. Jesse has also dropped overall from 6th to 9th within the goalie standings; definitely a harsh drop since last week. “The struggle is real.”

Garsh reacted to Scurvy in Two Rookie Dmen leading the charge!
So checking out some stats today trying to find some shit to write about when I noticed the top two rookies in scoring are both defenders. Being a defensive player myself I always love to see defense in the top categories. So here is a quick shoutout to two rookie defenders killing it!
Number 1 in scoring right now is Malmo Defenseman, Jacob Stone @scoop. This 606 222lb monster was the 5th overall selection in S88 and currently has 9 goals 25 assists for 34 pts and 125 blocked shots. Stone played for Stockholm last year in the VHLE and put up some numbers with 28 goals 55 assists 83 pts, 137 hits and 168 blocked shots. Stone has some offensive upside and likes to fill lanes and sacrifice his body to help his club.
Number 2 in scoring is Helsinki Dman, Kronchy Kardashian @Garsh. The S87 #7 overall pick is as smaller player who plays taller than he is. KK is not afraid to bang with opposing players and like Stone he will stand in front of any puck to help his goalie. At the 54-game mark, Kronchy has 6 goals (4 on power play) 28 assists 34 points, 77 hits and 118 SB. Also, last year In the E Kronchy put up some amazing number with 26 goals 77 Assists for 103 points! Tremendous upside for Helsinki.
I for one am excited to see two Defensive players leading the charge and hope that one of these two wins the rookie of the year trophy! Great job Stone and Kronchy!

Garsh got a reaction from rory in Kronchy Struggling After Hot Start
Things were looking great for Helsinki Titan’s rookie defender Kroncy Kardashian. She was putting up a point per game for the first third of the season. Then it all came crashing down. After scoring a few goals Kronchy has been very miss the last week. Kronchy has entered their rookie season post first third season slump. You know that classic song and dance. A tale as old as time, a rookie comes out the gate guns blazing, only to come crashing back down to earth.
It’s not all doom and gloom, Kardashian is still leading the rookie class in points. When they are playing well they are proving to be a real on ice general with 23 of their 29 points being assists. Some may chalk that up to their line mates playing well. In my opinion, when it has happened at every level of play, people need to start thinking that Kronchy is making the magic happen. They have always had good positioning on the ice, and I think knowing where they should be on the ice is what enables Kronchy to help their teammates score.
Time will tell if Kronchy can recover from this slump or if it will continue on into the season. If they can break out of it, they could be on track to take home the award for best rookie.
