  1. Seriously, check it out. It's a dope song for the meme metal lovers. - Overall the offseason is slowly drawing to a close, with only really the M draft remaining. Turns out some recreates were given the option to skip, and some of them decided to. I think it'll be nice to see how the M is impacted, if it'll be impacted at all with such a large draft class. On the flip side, will it actually help the E? I guess the details are still yet to come out, but it'll be interesting to keep an eye on. - Moscow was largely busy on two days, which was like day 1 of trading and the day before the draft. Made some big trades and unfortunately saw some great people leave the team, but we sorely needed the cap space along with getting a tad bit younger. We achieved that by bringing in players a season+ younger, and also some additional draft picks which paid off immediately in the S83 draft. - Speaking of S83 draft, we're thrilled to bring in Brandon, Lidz and Laner. Spoke about the draft from my perspective and how each pick went down on my podcast, so check that out for more information. It has timestamps this time! - Still waiting for training camp to open, and trying to keep an eye on builds across the league for VHFL purposes. As of right now, I think it'll have to start on April 16th, the day after builds are finalized. I just can't make people draft without knowing folks' initial builds. So keep an eye for sign-ups starting soon. Do go listen to Spaceman though.
  2. Week 3 VHL, Week 4 SBA
  3. Pearce Poised for Pop-Off Performance (April 9th - S83 Helsinki Titans Training Camp - Media Availability Transcript Excerpt) Reporter: Nico, thanks for your time. Year three is expected to be a big season for all pros in the VHL, as the Sophomore Slump is expected to have completed, and now you're in a contract year - as well as a pseudo-leadership role for the younger players on the Titans roster. How're you handling the high expectations? Nico: Yeah I think there's high expectations, not only on me but on the organization as a whole. It's pretty clear we've got one of the best goalies in the league here in Boobs , and the organization made some big moves to bring in Joker , Nash and the hobo from Florida. We're not satisfied with missing the playoffs, especially in such a tough conference. This is the time when a lot of us have to prove why we deserve a spot on this team. Reporter: What is your role in this organization? You've got finals experience from your brief stint on Moscow, and finished 5th on Helsinki in points last season. You've got the first round pick pedigree as well, so overall the fans expect you to step up and be a leader on the team. Nico: I don't necessarily know if there's an expectation to be a leader, especially being one of the younger guys in the locker room. Like I just broke into the VHL a season before Nezuko, and two seasons before Groves, both in the S81 class. The three of us are the youngest guys on the team along with Milan. So it's not necessarily declining to be a leader, but when you have veterans in the locker room, or at least people more senior and experienced than you, those are the ones who tend to be the real leaders on the team, especially guys like Ori and Boobs who've been here for 3-4 seasons now. Obviously that doesn't mean I can slack off as a self-proclaimed younger player, I'm still going into a third year and a contract season where we have expectations. My display of experience and this "veteran" status can only come on the ice. Reporter: What's the biggest thing you've learned over the past two seasons in the VHL, and how has it changed how you play the game now? Nico: Probably just the level of competition is something you can't really anticipate playing in until you're actually on the ice. Preparation at the VHLM or even the VHLE level doesn't really do it justice, and it was a bit of a shock as well for me going from the M straight into the VHL. Minnesota was a good place to play but there's a big difference between playing against draft eligible players, and then players who are 5-6 seasons from their VHL drafts, and are lighting up the scoresheets every night. The goalies are a bit better, the forwards skate faster, the defensemen are just smarter. It's something I have to work on every day to make sure that I'm no longer just that wide-eyed rookie coasting on the success of those who have put in the effort. It's been a good off-season, especially with the league-mandated training regiment changes, and I think everyone will see that I'm ready to make the jump. Reporter: Thanks Nico!

  5. Damn didn't even name drop Moscow
  6. The main reason why VHFL sign-ups haven't opened is due to the fact that a lot of builds haven't been set yet. This season will likely be a late VHFL since I don't think people would be happy to be drafting players without all the builds available, especially since we can't even use last season's rankings as a reference. I wasn't choosing you as group manager since you were the former VHFL manager, just because you're somewhat organized and need to hang around the forums anyways as a mod. Just seemed like a win-win.
  7. Contract rejections should definitely create forum threads
  8. Heh. Pearce wasn't a GM pick, those were abolished back in S76 or S77. GM players are treated as regular players now.
  9. As required of all Moscow GM's, I cannot say nice things about Davos. I cannot wish a Davos player good luck either. Don't be shit I guess. And congrats on being wanted!
  10. apex buddy sticking around for two more seasons
  11. MOSCOW MOSCOW MOSCOW for life
  12. Can confirm a higher than zero percent chance of Daniels being from NJ
  13. 1. Honestly I'm not even sure any position needs new blood. We've got some prospects at forward eager to replace the aging Nasherov and Ori, which is crazy to hear. Maybe they'll move the pick for a pick in the future to avoid having too crowded an organization. 2. My draft year was a bit different than most, since I had requested to play for a cup contender. Not many cup contenders picked in the top 10, so I ended up going right at 10 to Moscow. I think the fit was good as we made the finals, but clearly they couldn't afford my demands and moved me here. Their loss I suppose 3. I think Ori's leadership build was surprising, I'm pretty curious to see how it turns out. I think Nezuko brute forced that build as well, but it'll work. Just not very intricate I suppose. 4. Man that's quite the investment. I think he deserves the C really. 5. I think that they're actually the tournaments that the league should pay more attention to, but they've slipped to the side in recent seasons. In theory, they're the best young players and the best players in each region/country competing against each other. It's like an all-star game on steroids. 6. I handle everything myself. I'm the consummate professional.
  14. Just to clarify, E PF has been updated to 2, and anyone who claimed E PF before the change was systematically bumped from 1 tpe to 2. Before you submit an additional claim for uncapped TPE, double check your update history, as you've likely already had your 1 TPE bumped up to 2.
  15. Claim week 3 in SBA, week 2 in VHL
  16. Claim week 2 in SBA
  17. Unfortunately that's a limitation of the engine. I think everyone here would appreciate an in-depth statistical engine, maybe one that tracks puck possession, properly tracks giveaways and takeaways, hits vs successful hits, etc. Most people really only care about goals and assists because.....well, that's really the only thing the engine does. And gives out penalties to defensemen for goalie interference. We've tried scraping the game logs for turnover statistics, but it doesn't add up, nor does it seem rational. Frankly it feels like the engine just adds fluff in the play by play to fill in lines between penalties, faceoffs and shots.
  18. something that is similar to a flashlight
  19. Moscow true back to back to back champs
