Hello my name is Tony Bologna from Hockey Sandwich Inc. and we are here today to talk with Weenuk Warrior about his future and what is happening with him now. TB: I would like to get right into it with the questions, How are you doing, what have you been up to recently? WW: I am doing pretty good Tony, Octobers come and gone and it was nice being home for it to go trick or treating with the younger family members and to get some free snacks. TB: That is nice to hear, following up with you being home for the fans and scouts that maybe unaware, what was the reason for you not joining a VHLM team this season? WW: The reason for me staying is my grandparents, you know I could have gone and joined a team that sent an invitation and kept up with how they are doing, but hearing it over the phone and being there in person to see how they are doing are two different scenarios. I would have loved to play hockey in the league but they're two people that have always been there for me and are a big reason for my love of the game. They passed a week ago and I am glad for the time i got to spend with them during there final moments and know that my performance to the upcoming season will be for them, it sucks they wont be able to see me play but they'll always be in heart. TB: Well I'm sorry to hear that and wish your family the best. With the end of playoffs for all three leagues have you payed attention to any of the games? and if so what do you think about the winners, and which team you were rooting for? WW: Well both teams I was rooting for got knocked out early so I didn't pay close attention to how the rest of play offs went haha, I believe the Ottawa lynx won in the VHLM against the Yukon Rush. Yukon was one of the teams i was considering going to before i decided to stay home so i was rooting for them to win it all other then Houston Bulls who RKG played for for a couple seasons. Houston was the other team I was considering joining too but they ended selling some of there better playoffs before the trade deadline so there knock out wasn't the most surprising. As for the VHL I was rooting for the Prague Phantoms, again RKG played for them so that's where the favoritism comes from but the Vancouver Wolves ended up winning it against the Moscow Menace. Got to be happy for Vancouver the series went to seven where they won 5-2, personally I'm a big fan of Dakota Lamb and parts of my game are they way they are from watching him. TB: With the season end here the next waypoint is the drafts, I wanna ask what your plan is in regards to staying down in the M or if your gonna go ahead and play in the E? What teams you favor or want to get drafted by? WW: I definitely wanna stay down in the M, with taking the season off it is gonna be a great help for my game and on top of that I don't think my game is at the level where it needs to be to just jump to the next level. For the draft in the M I'd like to be drafted by a couple certain teams but honestly where I go isn't a big deal, personally the first team id hope to get in Houston, it may be under new management from when RKG was there but I would like to play there. Other then maybe Halifax 21st it does not really matter to me, if anything I'd like to go to the team that will help me play more towards my game. For the E I didn't pay that much attention to it this season but RKG had nothing but good things to say about RJ so I'd pick Vasteras Iron Eagles. First and foremost I would like to go to Prague, as stated in past opinions RKG has been a great help in staying on top of my game and following his footsteps in where he went to play would be fun. I've had a couple teams contact me as to whether i would like to play with them or if my character would match what they would like in a team player so interviews have been fun. Two other teams that i'd want to be drafted by are the Toronto Legion and the New York Americans. When i was younger we took a trip to Toronto to watch the Maple Leafs play and when we went sightseeing there it was beautiful, it would also be nice to stay in Canada if i could. As for New York just living there would be great. TB: Alright a fine selection of teams, now for the GMs of the leagues how about you as a player? What type of player do you think you are or are growing towards? WW: I am a playmaker no doubt about that. My shot has never been the best and at some point growing up I just stopped trying to make the shots and went strictly to passing so when i even try to shoot it usually goes wide of the net. Personally rather be the playmaker or role-player then the start of a team I don't think I have the IT factor to be the leader in that category. Speed is another attribute that I feel I excel in and being a smaller guy I have the mobility to get around the bigger guys more easily on the ice. Defensively I wont be sure until I get into real hockey games and even then, with a good coach my defensive game can always grow. I'm a pretty quiet guy and generally get along with everyone so I don't think my personality will clash with teammates on any team I get drafted too. TB: Well Thank you Weenuk for your time and thoughts it was nice getting to know you and hope you have a great night. WW: No problem Tony thanks for the questions ill be seeing you! 1068 words claiming on 11/14 and 11/21

Not playing in the VHLM this season allowed Weenuk free time outside of training and waiting for his his grandparents to get better. ''Most of my time every other day is is spent in the hospital with my grandparents, they don't have much time left so I'm glad I took the season off of playing to stay back and be with them and spend the last year till there gone. It's been a little hard, they kept trying to convince me to just go join a team but the time spent with them was worth. Outside of hospital i have still kept up my training, With cousin Riley knight gee retired from the VHL and back home he has been a big help in keeping up on my training and giving me tips to get ready for the draft. Staying in shape is pretty easy when its one of the few things you have to focus on so physically im ready to get playing. Video games is one of the last two things that I do in spare time, Mostly I play nhl, cod, or solo games like the assassins creed games, days gone. I've gotten back into reading but i mainly only do it an hour before i have to sleep, its boring enough that it tires me out but interesting enough to keep me reading"

1 - which season was your first in the VHL? Think s74 was my first players VHL season, took awhile to get there but when i did the locker room environment was fun 2 - Which season was your best? Highest point total in the VHL was season 76 with 63 points and the VHLM was my final season with 140 points 3 - Which season did you win the most trophies, what are the names? All four of my awards came in the VHLM in the final season where I got the Vladimir Boomchenko award, Ethan Osborne trophy, Mitch Higgins trophy, Ryan Sullivan trophy. 4 - How many season your first player took to go in the VHL? What did you do to accomplished that? As stated above, took me 3 season and the awards are there. First two season were on a bad houston team while the last we had a good chance at the cup 5. What is your favorite name you saw in the VHL as of right now? I like Biggie Cheese lol. 6. Would you like to have a managment role (VHL commissioner, VHLM commissioner, GM, AGM, etc.)? If yes, which one? Not really no, with my first player the drive to update ran out after a couple seasons into the VHL, maybe having a job in the VHL would make a difference but don't think id put the time into it and do a good job

Looking into the future retirement for Weenuk sees him wanting a couple different jobs, some to do with hockey or and aspect of physical activity and some with either of the two. The main priority for Weenuk would be to give back to the community that he lived in and help making getting into hockey easier for the young youth in his town and anywhere else that saw kids wanting to play hockey but not being able to afford it. Coaching is another alternative to help grow the game for younger ages, having the knowledge he has now and growing up he feels like he would be able to have an impact on new kids wanting to get into the sport. Coaching: "Growing up I have always wanted to do something in relation to hockey whether it be playing, Coaching, scouting or whatever I'd be able to do. Coaching would be easier for me as my father coached all sorts of age groups so whenever he would need help with drills or just having another person there I'd help. A big part of it is making sure the kids are having fun. Having a strict coach or even parents breathing down there neck or shouting from the stands that there not doing good enough can kill the ambition or love for the sport hockey and make them want to quit, I have the knowledge to give them to make the game enjoyable while making sure they can grow there level and love for the sport and to hopefully give them the most out of it. I have had plenty of great coaches and bad coaches throughout my career so far that I know the do's and don'ts of what to do, to use the information they gave me to pass onto the younger generation to make them the best they can be. The fulfillment of teaching a younger generation everything you know of the sport. In extension of coaching Opening up training camps will be a great help with that." Fundraisings/Charity: ''The biggest thing that's holding the sport back is how expensive it is, In the future and throughout my career i plan on trying to make it affordable for kids that want to give it a try, or for those that know they want to play it. Hockey isn't like basketball or soccer where all your kids really need is there body, Hockey requires equipment that isn't cheap, where for just one young kid it could easily cost $500 and upwards, not to mention maybe needing to buy new equipment because they had a little growth spurt. Making equipment available for parents that cant afford it by getting it donated through charity and fundraising with a community to get the equipment would go a ways. I think my training camps would help with this if I could get big name hockey brands to pitch in and help by donating older gear or just gear in general so that whether there new coming into the sport or just wanting tp get better we'd have the equipment there and ready for parents and children to give the sport a trying before committing to buying equipment to figure out if they like it or not. Helping communities get the funding they need to help grow the game in there area. Kids shouldn't be discouraged to not giving the sport a try because they are unable to afford the equipment or even the fee most have to pay just to start playing for a team. If I can help now or in the future and make it more accessible or cheaper for kids to join the sport I will try." In my future retirement of the game i wanna make an impact to kids around the country that cant afford to play hockey, i wanna give them the experience and show them the love for the game.

Due to unfortunate circumstances Weenuk Warrior will be unavailable to play during the season 80 of the VHLM. Weenuks Grandfather was fell ill before the draft began so he didn't join in on the draft day. It didn't stop teams such as Ottawa lynx, Yukon Rush, Houston Bulls and many more. '' Missing out on the draft honestly sucked, i was looking forward to see where i may have been playing in, but after the draft teams still offered me a contract to play for them during the season." Unfortunately for Warrior in the middle of deciding which team to play for his grandmother fell ill and the reports from the hospital weren't very good. " Both of my grandparents aren't in great conditon and with recent events with grams i've made the decision to skip out on this season to be with them. The situation doesn't look good and like to spend what time here with them that we have left. They've been in my life from the moment I was born and were my biggest fans from the moment I stepped on the ice. They were always there to help me and now ill be there to repay what they gave me." Weenuks step brother Riley knight Gee has retired from the VHL last season and will be available to help train Weenuk till the next season. " I'm not giving up the hope of making the VHL and have no intentions to stop training while my grandparents are sick. Judging by the time i have left with our grandparents ill be eligible For the S81 draft." Close relatives say it came down to The Houston Bulls and the Yukon rush.
