  1. Vasile Lamb, a somehow-related member of the Lamb clan popularized by longtime Warsaw Predator Dakota Lamb, has popped up recently on the radar of many VHLM GMs. Why, you ask? Well, we aren’t too sure. V. Lamb was born in the Bukovina Region of Romania, to 2 farming parents who still to this day do not even know what the sport of hockey is. Being the first child of his generation, Vasile was spoiled by his family, and allowed to pursue whatever he wished. Well, that wish, was to follow his dreams of being a professional hockey player. While he is at the unusual age to start a career in hockey at 21, he is a quick learner who has spent his spare time practicing at the local roller rink as there is no ice hockey rinks within 50 miles of his home. So, why is he being targeted by VHLM GMs now? Well, Lamb made the trip across the pond to North America, where he is staying with a billet family while he studies at university. After working up the courage, he tried out for the intramural field hockey team. He dominated opponents there, but admittedly, it wasn’t exactly the fiercest of competition. The next challenge was ball hockey, which he tried out for, only made his university team due to an injury to another right-winger and settled in a depth role with that team. In ball hockey is where he developed his hands and shot, scoring 4 goals in his first 7 games with the team. He also finally got enough Romanian Leu wired over to him from his family to purchase a hockey net from a local yard sale, in which Lamb can be seen often in his billet family’s driveway shooting the 1 puck he could afford. Lamb did try out for his university varsity hockey team, but unfortunately did not make the team. This is the answer to our question though, as this particular university has been a pipeline for VHL stars such as Lorgo Pompronkomishkonov, Germano Henchoz, and Kjell Nilsson, so there was a few VHLM Scouts in the crowd watching Lamb give his all. Apparently, they saw more in him than university coach Michael Babcock did, as right after the final cuts he was given a tryout to 10 VHLM teams, and now all he must choose is where he should go to one; play his first structured ice hockey game, and two; use as a steppingstone to become a professional hockey star – his ultimate goal.
  2. 1. Which season was your first in the VHL? Season 72, back in May of 2020. I joined the VHL with a few friends, and was drafted by the newly-expanded Miami Marauders. 2. Which season was your best? Why? With D. Lamb, it was probably season 78 or 79. In 78 I had an amazing playoffs, 2 points per game, and in 79 I had the best regular season of my career with 108 points. 3. Which season did you win the most trophies (team or individual)? What are the name of the trophies? I only won at most 1 per season, Christian Stolzschweiger Trophy in S74, a Victory Cup in S77, and a Continental Cup in S78. 4. How many season your first player took to go in the VHL? What did you do to accomplished that? It took an extra season for me to head up to the VHL, but that was because I liked the locker room, management, and players in Miami at the time. 5. What is your favorite name you saw in the VHL as of right now? Let's go with my boy ferk and Biggie Cheese. 6. Would you like to have a managment role (VHL commissioner, VHLM commissioner, GM, AGM, etc.)? If yes, which one? I quite like being a GM. It's fun, but challenging at times. I probably would not want to ever be a league commissioner, just not my thing.

    Dakota Lamb Passing 52 -> 42
  7. Dakota Lamb, star Centre of the Warsaw Predators, is hanging up his skates after this season. The question from here is, what is next? Lamb has not publicly said what his plans are beyond this season, as he is obviously focused right now on trying to get his Predators to the post-season for the 5th season in a row. However, rumors have swirled around what comes after. Here are a few that fans and analysts alike have been saying is next for the Canadian player. 1. Enjoying the retired life According to CapFriendly, Lamb has made over 30 million in his career. This is well more than enough to not have to work another day in his life, so there is reason to believe that Lamb could just spend his retirement relaxing, between his house in southern Ontario and another in Warsaw, as well as his recently purchased property in Turks and Caicos, there are many different options for Lamb and his family to relax. His hobbies are well known, as he loves skydiving, hiking, and golfing, so if he does choose this route, look for a place that offers all of the above. 2. Analyst/Commentator Lamb has publicly stated in interviews that as a young kid he imagined himself commentating VHL games rather than playing in them, so we could easily see Lamb making the transition many former players have, going up to the booth, and becoming a play-by-play or color commentator, and with his over 400 games of experience in pro hockey would apply his knowledge to fans, new and old, with a network such as VSN or VSPN. He also has a Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics from his time in University, so being behind the scenes at a network is also an option. 3. Stepping into a management role This has kind of already happened, but let’s pretend it hasn’t yet. Lamb could join every VHL, VHLE, and VHLM GM as a former player entering a management role, and this is actually something Lamb has discussed before. In a Season 75 interview, he said “I love it here in Warsaw. The fans, players, and organization. If the chance arises, I would love to stay within the org after my playing days in any position I could get my hands on.” Obviously, lots has changed since this comment, but it definitely looks like a strong candidate for Lamb to pursue, if he still has a burning desire to win in this league as a non-player. 4. Starting a BRAND Something very popular recently among retired players is starting a brand for themselves, fore fronted by a podcast or YouTube channel. Lamb has made an appearance on many VHL-related podcasts, and it could be something Lamb does. He has tweeted before that he wants to start one, specifically with other retired players, Florent Vericel and Kjell Nilsson. Nobody knows for sure what is next for the forward, and to be honest, neither does he. But as he always does, Dakota Lamb will find a passion for something and absolutely run with it. (515 Words)
  8. 1. With theme week upon us, what will you be doing for that extra uncapped TPE? Probably a graphic. It's Lamb's last week of updating, so gotta squeeze every last bit of TPE out. 2. For Canadians: how was your thanksgiving weekend? For non-Canadians: what do you think thanksgiving in Canada looks like? My thanksgiving was good, I visited both sides of my family, plus had a ton of turkey and ham. 10/10 thanksgiving. 3. The NHL regular season starts up TOMORROW!!! Who/what team will you be cheering for? As always, I am cheering for the GOAT franchise, the Bruins of Boston. The window is closing, only a couple shots left. 4. If yourself in real life were to get drafted to the NHL, what round would you go in? The 7th. I was never a great skater, but the hockey IQ and hands are off the charts. Preferably I'd go 217th overall, with zero expectations or pressure. 5. What other sports do you enjoy watching or playing besides hockey? Football for sure, and from time to time I can enjoy a soccer or NBA game. But nothing compares to watching hockey. 6. Are you a dog or cat person? If neither, what animal is your favourite? I would say both, as I have both, but if I had to choose 1, probably a cat person a tiny bit more.
  9. I was just looking through the VHL Index tonight, and I found a few things that I thought would be good to write about in a "VHL590" article. #1 - β-HSK LW3 The first one that caught my eye was β-HSK LW3, who is the shortest player in the index, listed as 1 foot, 8 inches, and 72 pounds. He has yet to record any points, but has actually got on the scorecard, posting a SMASHING 6 hits, and 3 shots on goal. At age 30, it doesn't look like a growth spurt is likely, but cheers to the undersized forward for making it to the big leagues. #2 - Randoms Randoms, a former player of hedgehog, is by far the oldest player in the index, and the ripe age of 69. As we know, the portal limits the maximum age at 50, however it is interesting to see that Randoms is 17 years older than the next two oldest, Londortharl and Shawn Michaels is better than HHH (both age 52). #3 - Warsaw Predators I'm not sure how I didn't notice this before, but the Season 79 Warsaw Predators became the 9th team in VHL history to score 300 goals in 1 season, with a total of 303. They were only the 2nd team to do it post-season 31 (Malmo, also in S79, scored 314). (226 Words)
  10. Trivia a few times a season, and it's uncapped. Also we need more capped tasks reviews suck and are all the same
  11. 1. Warsaw sits at 4th in the EU Conference - wildcard spot - how can we boost our standings record and secure a playoff spot? I don't foresee the team bringing in any assets, so we just need to improve from within. Converting more of our chances is a must at this point, it's losing us games. But I am confident we can get back on track. 2. Our Goal Difference is -10. Do we not score enough? Or do we let too many goals in? A little bit of both. Our scoring has dried up as of recently, and since we only have 3 defenders on the team, that can cause some fatigue on our back end. I do not fault the goaltending however, we are getting solid work back there. 3. How has your player performed so far? We are a third of the way through S80. Pretty average for Lamb, nothing earth shattering, but very solid. I'm just watching him climb the all-time points board. 4. What was your reaction to being drafted/signed/traded to the Warsaw Predators organization? I was so hyped. As a first gen, it was an amazing feeling watching the stream. The management had just messaged me the day of or day before, and I never expected it. But I couldn't have asked for a better career here. 5. What type of player build are you aiming to accomplish for your player? If you could switch anything in your build what would it be? Well, I've built a scoring centre, and that's exactly what I set out to do when I created. I want to have some more checking in my game, but I just don't think it's super viable. 6. How was your weekend? Good! Another relaxing one, just played and watched CSGO, since it rained most of the weekend. I watched some preseason hockey as well, hyped it's almost back!
  12. After not officially naming captains in S79, I am here to name the first Warsaw captains of my tenure. I decided to put it to a player vote to award the "C" and two "A's", and the results are in.... better late than never! CAPTAIN - Dakota Lamb (hey, that's me!) Lamb retains the captaincy he's had since Season 75, one that he has, and will continue to, wear proudly. I decided on a player vote in case they did want a change of C, but ultimately Lamb remains in the role, and accepts it with open arms as he reaches the end of his career. ALTERNATE CAPTAIN - Victor Grachev @KaleebtheMighty Another member of Warsaw's inaugural draft class entering his final season, Victor has donned the "A" since Season 75, and has done an amazing job and is well deserving to continue being a part of Warsaw's leadership group. Coming off a career season, Victor will be the leader of Warsaw's back end on and off the ice. ALTERNATE CAPTAIN - Chris Reynolds @Crstats23 The 2nd A goes to one of the most vocal players in the locker room, Chris Reynolds. He has really stepped up in the absence of many long-term Warsaw players, and along with his dominance on the ice, he is now one of this team's veterans ready to lead the next generation of Preds. CHODŹMY WARSZAWO CHODŹMY
  13. The Portal will be regularly undergoing maintenance to support the addition of the VHLE. Report any issues to Josh.

  15. 1. Warsaw sits 3rd in the EU conference with a 5-3-1 record. Have we been playing well or should we be doing better? We've been playing well as a unit, for sure. We have tapered off here the last couple sims, but I know with all the talent we have it is just a matter of putting it all together. 2. What has been a key role to our winning record. Jacob Carson and Chris Reynolds have played a massive part in our success so far. I hope they both keep it up. 3. How has your player performed through the first sim? Even as an old man, Lamb is still beasting. I'm sad that his career is finally coming to an end, so I hope he can get some awards. 4. Malmo currently owns first place in the league, will they take home another Victory Cup? (Best Regular Season Record) Honestly probably. They have almost, if not exactly, the same roster as last season. So no reason they can't repeat for a Victory Cup. 5. How do you think our team looks? Anyone we should add? Trade? Yeah, sure, let's add the top 10 players by TPA. I think it would help us out a bit But honestly I like how our team is built, we could use another F and D to run 6-4-2 though. 6. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go? Probably Japan, but I also wouldn't mind going back to London.
