1. At the start of the season, everyone is always so optimistic! What is your individual goal for S73? 40 goals and 100 points. Even if I don't, I expect 25 G and 60 points out of myself at the BARE minimum. 2. But, hockey isn't an individual sport. What are your S73 expectations for Miami? We're winning it all baby. Perfect group of guys, and a poop ton of TPE all around. I'm optimistic, baby. 3. Lots of VHLM pundits have labelled the S73 Marauders as a "heel" team, the supervillain that you love to hate and hate to love. Will you embrace the bad-boy reputation our team has earned this season, or did you prefer the underdog role we had last season? Honestly, I prefer the underdog. It's easier to perform with no pressure at all than with it all on your shoulders. 4. Do you think you'll still be in a Marauder uniform at the end of the regular season? I should be. If not, well, I will be PISSED. Marauder born and bred. 5. Which team do you think will be our VHLM rivals this season, and why? Minnesota, since we faced (and almost beat them) last year. They should be good again. Maybe San Diego as well, another team that "won" the VHLM draft. We will see how good they are. 6. What point tasks do you enjoy doing most, and why? Probably graphics, I love working on my skills. But these press conferences are always a treat. Thanks AL!

Happy birthday VHL! When I was 13, I remember getting an Xbox 360 for my birthday, and playing the shit out of Rock Band. Also biking around the city with my friends all the time. My friend also body checked me through my door to my room, which is still broken to this day.

With many teams coming to him before the draft, Dakota Lamb was not exactly sure where he would go. Teams like London and Calgary seemed to be the most likely spot, however there was not 1 team that Lamb could count out. He knew that he wasn't exactly the most skilled player in the draft, but his work ethic and willingness to get better he felt propelled him higher in the draft. "Late 1st round, early 2nd round", he thought to himself. But from the moment the draft started, he was nervous. He could go anywhere. Whenever a new team went on the clock, he imagined what it would be like to play for that team. He saw his newest potential teammate, Patrik Laine, go to Helsinki at 9th. And then Warsaw was on the clock. Warsaw is a new expansion team, who came out of nowhere. With many teams coming to Lamb weeks before the draft, it was that very day that Warsaw had come to Lamb for a pre-draft interview. He must've hit it out of the park in that interview, because the next thing Lamb knew... "With the 10th overall pick in the S73 VHL Entry Draft, the Warsaw Predators are proud to select, from the Miami Marauders..." There were so many of us. Lamb didn't expect to go before other Marauder 1st rounders such as Kosmo Kramerev, Andre LeBastard, or Wolf Stansson. However his heart was racing. "DAKOTA LAMB!" He was overjoyed. He hugged his parents and close friends, happy to be selected this high in the draft. And to a team where he can see himself doing great things, on a clean slate expansion team, just like he did with Miami. He is a Warsaw Predator loud and proud. Although he is spending this year in the VHLM again with Miami, this is the start of something great between Lamb and Warsaw. Side Note: GM Muff was proud of his pick, claiming after the draft was over that his pick of "Derek Lamb" was the steal of the draft. I'll take it.

1. There's a lot of action going on this week. First up is the VHL Draft. Do you plan on getting drafted to the VHL? Where do you hope you go? 1b. If you're already drafted, how much do you think you'll play in the VHL next season? I do plan on it, and it's looking like late 1st/early 2nd round. I'm hoping for REDACTED, as they have been in touch the most, but you never know. 2. Next up is the VHLM Draft on Wednesday. What should management be looking for with our plethora of draft picks? I think, especially with the question marks surrounding our players going up, D, Wing, and maybe a late goalie is what we need. 3. Well, none of our playoff predictions were right. We thought the winner of the MIA-MIN season would win the Cup. What do you have to say about the Saskatoon Wild, S72 Founders Cup Champions? Congratulations to them! I don't know too much about them, but yeah, was a real shock to see MIN not win it all. 4. What skill or stat do you hope to improve on this off-season? DF and SC all the way, baby. 5. How would you assess your TPE earning this season? Is there anything you will do differently next season? I barely missed anything, except for my first few weeks. I don't think i'll change much, maybe add in a few more media spots. 6. It's the offseason, and I don't want to hurt your brain too much. What's your favourite number? 80. My moms birth year, and Bryzgalov's number in Edmonton. Looks nasty on a jersey.

1. Darn, we lost. How would you assess your play during the playoffs? I felt I played my heart out, averaging almost 2 points per game. But it wasn't enough, and I need to press harder and learn from this. 2. Nominate a Miami Marauder Playoff MVP. Kosmo Kramerev. 18 points in 7 games. From a dman. Case closed. 3. What advice would you give to players who are about to go through their first VHLM draft? Enjoy it, it's a blast. Get ready to meet new people in a new LR, and good luck! 4. What was the first thing you did or first place you went after we got eliminated? Complained and called for a se-sim. Always works. 5. Now that we don’t have to eat the diet of an in-season professional athlete, what’s your favourite unhealthy food? Sun Chips are unreal. My favourite snack food. Also Popeyes, my favourite fast food by far. 6. SSK or MEX? The Founder’s Cup can only go to one team! Mexico baby!

Now that the first season of Dakota Lamb's career is officially in the books, I would just like to take this article to reflect on everything that happened and everyone I met along the way. First of all, I want to talk about the franchise that took a chance on me, the Miami Marauders. Right off the bat, Miami had my heart, as they took me and a friend I knew prior to VHL (@osens). This eased the transition into a new group of people who I had never so much as said "hi" to before. As the season progressed, I met a lot of cool new people in that locker room, and while there are too many people to mention here, if you are reading this you know who you are. Special shoutout here to Miami management. You guys are awesome. The "us vs. them" mentality we rallied around throughout the season is something so fun and what makes me happy to call myself a Marauder. We exceeded expectations in all meanings of the phrase, making the playoffs and pushing the 1st seed to 7 games. In both the social and on-ice aspects of my 1st season, I would call it a resounding success. I wasn't sure at first if i would stick to VHL, as I thought it would be something I could only commit to as a side thing once in a while, however over the last month or 2 I have grown to love this place, always making time for it and being excited to strengthen both my writing and graphic skills on the side. Being a huge fan of hockey, especially in the world we are now in, i'm glad i'm here. To anyone I talked to over this past season, thank you for making this 1st-genner feel welcome and accepted, and I am excited for what the future brings for me in this league. #dlamb1strounder #GOMarauders
