  1. 1. It’s WJC week! Do you follow the irl World Junior Championships? I usually catch some games, but I don't extensively follow it. I watch the medal games, and keep track of how the NHL top prospects/Bruins prospects are doing. 2. What is your favourite WJC moment ever? Jordan Eberle's goal in the 2009 WJC to tie it for Canada against Russia in the dying seconds on the 3rd. Absolutely electrifying moment. 3. In S72, the VHLM WJC is made up of 5 teams: Canada, USA, Europe, Asia, and Team World. If the tournament expanded to include one more team, what team would it be? I would probably divide Europe into 2 teams. East and West maybe? North and South? I think there is enough talent throughout Europe to ice 2 teams. 4. As a WJC fan or player, what bonus perks or experiences would you want from the tournament? I would like to play in the WJC.. so bad. But written game recaps would be nice to see. 5. Sum up our season so far with a gif. 6. What’s your hidden talent? I do alot of sketching/drawing. I keep it to myself though.
  2. Great Idea, will never say no to this. Transaction ID: 05807097V0283672G Confirmed. -sterling
  3. Miami RW Oh Sens, in the penalty box, frustrated with fan heckling, gives the dirty Saskatoon Wild fans a well needed shower.
  4. 1. We’re about a month into the VHLM season now. What has been your favourite game to play in so far? Without a doubt, it has to be our game against Houston. (GM 18) I had a hat trick, and a 4 point night. Of course my first game was a great experience, but, come on, scoring goals is always fun. Especially when you get the W. https://vhlportal.com/gameview/72/VHLM72-18.html?VHLM=True 2. The drama off the ice in Miami is likely more compelling than the action on the ice this season, with all the assault, tomfoolery, and general mischief involving some or all of our team’s players. Which storyline(s) are you enjoying or following most? My good friend Osens has gotten into quite a bit of trouble, whether it be on or off the ice, I love that the guy puts his heart and soul into everything he does. 3. Have you heard that the World Junior Championship (WJC) is coming up this summer? It’s a seasonal tournament that features the best VHL prospects up to 300 TPE. Which of the WJC five teams will you be cheering for: America, Asia, Canada, Europe, or World? I have heard, I hope to be a part of it as either a player or staff. Probably Canada, as it's proudly my country, but Asia is also always fun to watch. 4. Who from our team should make the roster of their WJC team, and why? Is it cheating if I say everyone? If it is, Kosmo Kramerev has been an absolute beast, he should be there without a doubt. I'd also like to see our captain, Andre LeBastard, get the WJC nod. Both are more than deserving. 5. What’s your favourite TPE task to do? Why? So far, i am enjoying doing graphics. I thought I would like articles more, but I have been really enjoying teaching myself photo editing, and I hope to get better and better. Press conferences are also easy and fun to do. (Like this one!) 6. What makes you get hyped up about simulation hockey? Seeing my player grow and contribute to a team, I just love to see. I also get to work on some writing and photo editing skills, things I am definitely not an expert in, so that helps.
  5. Myself, @osens and @dart are the new kids on the block in Miami. A LW - C - RW combo that strives to grow together.
  6. I would be interested in any position available, the experience is what I need
  7. Dakota Lamb shows off his 3 pucks from his hat trick, sporting his local Miami Marlins jersey.
  8. 1. Miami finished the first week of games sitting at 3W-5L, good for 8th in our 12 team league. How do you feel about our team's start to the season? Of course, you always want to be at the top of the standings, however in our 1st year in team history, we've been keeping games close, and i'm fairly happy with it. 2. What has been the stat that you are most impressed with through one week? I have 9 points (6 goals) in 8 games. Pretty solid for my TPE, and i'm very excited about it. 3. What feedback do you have for the coach to make the team better for week 2? With the amount of talent we have right now, I think coaching has put us perfectly in a position to succeed. We could definitely play a little better defensively though. 4. Yukon has an open AGM position. What skills do you have that would make you a great team manager? While I don't think I have the experience right now to become an AGM, I am active, outgoing, supportive, and willing to learn to help any team in any ways possible. 5. What's the one show or movie you've seen more than anything else? The Office (US) for sure. It's usually on as background noise every night before I go to bed, but I can still know everything that is going on if I listen for even a second. Probably seen it 20-25 times all the way through. 6. How much wood could a wood chuck chuck if a wood chuck could chuck wood? A wood chuck would chuck as much wood as a wood chuck could if a wood chuck could chuck wood.
  9. Dakota Lamb Centre | 6' 1" | 185 lb. | Age: 19 | | Dakota Lamb is a speedy two-way centre born in Niagara, Ontario, Canada. He is the son of former Edmonton Oilers C Mark Lamb, who won a Stanley Cup in 1990. He has grown up his whole life playing mainly hockey, beginning with the Pelham Panthers. He also played baseball and ball hockey, however ice hockey was always his main passion. His whole career has taken place in southern Ontario. He dominated as a child and with his high school, which led to him being drafted by the OHL's Niagara IceDogs at age 16. He was not a high pick, however climbed up the depth chart and quickly became a swiss army knife "do it all" type of player. He can quarterback a Powerplay, deflect pucks in front of the net, kill Penalties, play a shutdown C role, or, in his most comfortable spot, be the scoring C you need to get your team a goal. With the IceDogs, he improved every season, scoring more goals and points as each season progressed. His OHL career was capped off with a J. Ross Robertson Cup (OHL Champions) followed by a Memorial Cup win. (CHL Champions) After he had done everything you can do in the OHL, he considered his options. There was European leagues that were offering for his services; however Lamb had a conversation with his close family and friends, and he then decided that he did not want to leave North America. There was the NCAA that was offering, as well as his local USports teams, even his hometown Brock University Badgers. This offer was super enticing, however he went against all of his offers and declared for the VHLM draft. His agent told him that no VHLM team would be interested in him, and this is the worst career move that Lamb could've made. But Lamb loves to hear criticism like that. He took what his agent said, and got to the grind, skating, working out, becoming the best version of himself before the draft. And oh boy, did it pay off. In the 4th round, 49th overall in the S72 VHLM draft, the Miami Marauders took a shot on the kid from small town southern Ontario, and he could not have been happier. The Marauders had just taken Lamb's close friend Oh Sens, a RW from Japan, who he had met in Juniors, and now he had a chance to play on the same line as him. Lamb knew he was not going to be a high pick, but the doubters always fuel him. The more people think he can't succeed, he goes out and tries harder and harder. In his first VHLM game, Dakota Lamb scored his 1st goal, a moment he will never forget. He is looking forward to helping the expansion Marauders succeed and grow, and hopefully bring a championship to Miami sooner rather than later. We will see what lies ahead for this youngster's career. (505 words)
  10. In his first game vs the Minnesota Storm, Dakota Lamb scored his 1st VHLM goal. A moment I'll never forget.
  11. 1. Why and when did you join the VHL? I joined on May 8th, as it was referred to me though some discord friends, and looked exciting as I love all things hockey! 2. How do you plan on earning TPE this season? As a base it will be from practice and welfare, as well as VHL.com articles and graphics. As the season progresses, I expect myself to start getting into the big TPE earners. 3. What do you like and/or dislike in a team discord locker room? I like being a part of a "family" of sorts, where we all become close with one another. Not much to dislike about a discord locker room, just keep any drama out. 4. What strengths do you bring to the Marauders? I bring reliability in the middle 6 of a roster. I pride myself on being a 200-foot player. My biggest strengths are both scoring and passing. I expect to build my defense, passing, and face-offs as soon as possible. 5. What's the sports-related achievement you are most proud of? Winning a province championship with my high-school hockey team is definitely at the top. The perfect group of guys. 6. What are you doing to bring you happiness during the pandemic? Participating in alot of hockey related sim leagues like VHL keeps me busy, as well as video games. Constant runs, workouts, and shooting pucks in my driveway is keeping me active and on my feet.
  12. 1. As a late bloomer for the S72 VHLM Dispersal Draft, I expect to be a late round pick in the draft. Hopefully a team can see what I bring to the table and the potential I have, and will take a chance. We will see. 2. Right now, my strengths are my smooth skating ability, along with the ability to finish plays. The biggest selling point however I would say is my high ceiling, in which I believe I will continue to grow and progress as the weeks pass. I am obsessed with getting better every day, and I strive for greatness. 3. I add a friendly voice with a good sense of humour. While still learning, I am very supporting and encouraging of my teammates. 4. My grandfather, for sure. He was a big influence on me getting into the game at a young age, and with everything going on right now, unfortunately he will not be able to be with me. 5. I would have to say Scott Greene. A very well rounded player that excels at both ends of the ice, specializing in scoring, but no slouch in the defensive done or in the face-off dot either. Definitely a guy I love to watch. 6. I want to remembered as a player who always gave it their all, was clutch when they needed to be, and had very limited weaknesses. All I can do is be the best version of myself, and that's what I am going to do.
