I don’t think that’s why no one does it but it’s an easy fix. We just forgot to change wherever it says that, is it the forum description or the rubric?

just as an FYI as well the reason the wording was like that is because bio was kept from the old ones, just changed, so it kinda had two rubrics going.

while you're at it, from the VHL rule book:

Keep Prospect Scouting report as is.

still anti-PSR but i'm outnumbered and it's inconsequential. change the name and the time during which you can do the task

otherwise yeah, good to go for me i suppose

  3. I guess what I don't like about the idea is that it assumes that all GM players are of equal value. Yes, GMs know what they can expect from their player since they're operating it, which can be a huge advantage over other players. This goes not only for contract lengths, but also TPE earning and LR presence. A GM's top priority is likely to engage with their teams locker room, and when their player is there, it's a whole lot easier.

On the other hand, though, and importantly, I don't know if I think that is enough for me to assume that every GM player is worth the same assets.

Some GM players are steady welfare earners + job pay and maybe a press conference here or there. Those players, strictly speaking in terms of TPE, may not be as valuable in the sim as other GM players that are max earning every single week. I understand that there's more to player value than TPE, but we're using sim league assets to acquire and move sim league players.

If a GM player straight up is not worth an early first or a late first and a second, that GM and team gets screwed. (Which brings up the question of whether a GM could draft their own player in the third round if still available? seems like a stupid idea to allow that) It feels to me like restricting GMs further

rory had ample time to acquire draft captial to draft DeGroot and chose not to

just for the record, this isn't true either. they did try to trade up to draft themselves when they fell out of the first round. i don't know what those offers looked like, but i do know that offers were made

  5. :dcd:DC DRAGONS PRESS CONFERENCE :dcd:

answer 3 questions for 1 TPE, 6 questions for 2 TPE

    1. The VHL Entry Draft was Sunday, and DC was able to bring in a few players–did you get a chance to tune in? If you were drafted, did you think you would end up in DC? Why or why not?

    2. The offseason is generally a quiet time around the VHL–how do you maintain interest when the team isn't getting sims every day? What's your favorite element of the offseason?

    3. If you were given responsibility of changing DC's logo, would you keep the Dragons or change it & why?

    4. Imagine your player in grade 4: what's their favorite school subject and why?

    5. What's your jersey number? Is there any significance to that number?

    6. If you got to set the exact temperature and weather conditions for a day where you are right now without any negative consequences, what would you set them to?

  6. Concerns brought to the table

    • There were empty or near-empty VHLM rosters that aren’t conducive to activity or snagging the interest of newcomers.
    • Rule evasion: GMs colluding to flip players/picks

    Solutions offered

    • Get rid of draft pick trading
      • Con: We lose elements of realism
      • Con: limits experience of new members + recreates
    • Get rid of FA waiver signing
    • Restrict draft pick trading
      • Gus’s idea: limit amount of picks per round by assigning point values to picks, set a point cap
      • Nyko’s simplified version of Gus’ idea
      • Require X amount (either min or max) of picks/team(/round) on draft day
        • Con: Doesn’t address the rule evasion issue
      • Limit pick trading to the same season (at least before specified date)
        • Pro: reduces opportunity for teams to go all-in, reduces pick hoarding
      • Randomize VHLM draft order
      • No trading first round picks
    • Disallow trading a VHLM-drafted player in the season they were drafted/No team can have more than 3 players selected in the first round in the same season they were selected
    • Roster minimums
      • Con: sucks for people who are on a team with the minimum
      • Con: would be extremely difficult without allowing inactives
    • Reduce waiver limit
    • Create a trade window
    • No double-shifting except playoffs (pretty sure this was implemented)
    • Implement a waiting period during which a player can’t move
      • Con: easy to lose members during this period
      • Con: users likely to still sign with the first person they talked to\
      • Con (from the future): if we move waivers to the portal, it’s useless

Concerns not directly linked to solutions

    • VHLM is a developmental league: what does that mean, how do we balance development and healthy amount of competition to keep players engaged
    • VHLM GMing quality: restricting options for VHLM GMs will affect their experience as a GM
