Playoffs without Riga feels wrong.

Fun fact: would have been last in group 4 Edit: it’s too early, 1217 would be second last, not last, in group 4. Still though.

In our testing it’s effect is incredibly little unless you really crank the slider for it which we don’t. We could completely turn it off, it’s true, but it does so little that IMO it adds a tiny extra bit of realism to keep it on. People like to think that they want “totally realistic” results, by which they mean the better team winning, but no one would actually want that and that’s the opposite of realism. If the better team on paper won every single time the league would be incredibly predictable and boring. The bots in juniors actually make the effect appear more pronounced because they are all the same which means only their morale and random luck has any effect on the outcome. This definitely makes it seem like morale does a ton but in reality having constantly shifting attributes and, more importantly, attributes that vary from player to player means that basically every other stat does more. TLDR; it does very very little, like I don’t think you’d even be able to plot it’s effect with any degree of certainty, but stays on because it’s minor effect adds a bit of realism and an extra element. Juniors just make it look more important than it is.

I have finally climbed out of my hole and back into first place, and against @gorlabhaha. Seriously though lab, hell of a battle between us, I’m surprised I managed to pass you. Hell I managed to finish third overall which is pretty nuts. Also @fishyI assume mine should say 6 + 1?

Merrick definitely had a great season but tbh he has the same issue @OrbitingDeath did a few seasons ago. Not making the playoffs IMO disqualifies people from winning the Campbell. You can be important to your team but if that team doesn’t make the playoffs how much of a difference did you realistically make? He’ll be on the ballot for sure but it’s a tough sell. Mind you I also don’t vote.

It also wasn’t a cheetah or a Lynx that killed his parents, it was a leopard. Yes I’m a Disney nerd, why do you ask? Claude Frollo is a judge but damn if he doesn’t come close. Pete’s portrayal of the ghost of Christmas future in “Mickey’s Christmas Carol” is the closest thing that comes to mind.

This is why VHL GM jobs are usually jobs of succession. IE the current GM grooms someone on the team to take over for them when they retire. People get upset that they “didn’t have a chance at it” but honestly it’s just cleanest and most efficient way to transition, always has been. I think Prague is given a free pass a bit in regards to the mocking because they are still looked at as an “expansion team” even though they’ve been around for a bit now. Davos has a history of winning so seeing a slump of this scale is unusual. Not saying it’s fair, just trying to look at it logically. This is true, at least from me. I will never roast someone I don’t think can take it or will think that a commissioner is legitimately upset with them. I know I can give you shit and you won’t take it seriously, this is a good thing. It’s also not nearly as glamorous as some people seem to think.

Needed 3 points to hit 100, wound get with the dreaded 99 instead, oh well. Career highs in assists, hits, and SB at least even if I did forget how to score.

Would have liked to take that Warsaw game but 1-1 seems right for this season. Need 3 points in our last game to hit 100 on the season... seems unlikely but I’ve done better before so who knows.

You would have to ask them, we can’t really say what they will or won’t accept. My hunch says no.

I was stunned by the generosity of the league last year and honestly this year blew me away even more. Absolutely amazing everyone, I’m basically speechless at this point. It was a hard year for everyone, including many of us here, so to see everyone come together and put SO MUCH towards good causes like this really makes me so proud of what this league has become.

I was planning to do it this week BUT I wound up having to work until 5 on Christmas Eve, yay... so it’ll probably be streamed the 26th.

We’ll just have to return the favour from last season and make sure they don’t get there then.

A couple of things of note: 1. Obviously the game poster isn't working right now but that's not overly important because... 2. I know this is very few games. We realized the VHLM is quite far ahead of the VHL and we want them to finish at the same time so I'll only be doing 2 sim days per sim instead of the usual 4 to end the season. Both the portal and the index accurately show the player on the hounds where they signed. Getting them in the lines is a different story, that’s on the GM, but they are in the index.
