There is a certain degree of “Ive been doing this for 13 years, it’s habit by now” that keeps me coming back but the main thing is more or less what @eaglesfan0366 was eluding to. You’ve gotta recognize that TPE isn’t the be all end all. I don’t think I’ve ever had the most TPE in my draft class (by the end, I think I’ve led the class at the draft once or twice) and that’s totally okay. You’re gonna burn yourself out if you constantly think missing a single TPE will be the end of you.

It’s kinda loophole closure. Technically someone could claim pension and a couple of jobs and get the cap while, by our own rules, someone claiming pension and just secondary stuff couldn’t. It was also a bit complicated in regards to 6+ TPE jobs vs. A few smaller jobs. Basically it’s very minor and more or less just enforced rules we’ve had for awhile but in a slightly different manner. It also helps us fix the issue of pension being only 1 TPE more than a PT. It’s still not that it’s a lot but the lower cap means you lose out a bit more taking pension than a PT without crippling pension players.

Not sure why I’m such an assist machine this season but I’ll take it.

Didn’t realize it was a second half, probably something we should have caught before tbh but can’t really retroactively take it away when it wasn’t the rule before. Avoid it in the future though. I get what you are doing it for but the potential can of worms is still messy.

Were you ever approved to do this? I’ve already said multiple times this season that we aren’t allowing donations for other members.

Obviously we prefer to know in advance but it’s not a big deal and obviously given the circumstances there was no way to predict it. Totally fine.

Some revenge from the finals!

Staff already knows but best I tell the rest of you. I'll be going on vacation the next two weeks, from tomorrow through to August 10th. @Josh is going to handle simming for the VHLM so if you have any problems @VHLM GM 's then direct them his way. As for the league as a whole, obviously @Quik and @Beaviss are in charge, try not to burn the place down while I'm gone. I will have some internet access but it will be limited and spotty at best so don't bank on me responding to much quickly. I'll see you all in two weeks!

The VHLM originally was affiliated with the VHL teams instead of being it's own league. We didn't have the third league of course and I have discussed that since but the system we have now has worked well for a long time. Basically we think of the VHLM more as the CHL, rather than the AHL. It's not affiliated with the VHL in any way, it's just a place for new players to play until they graduate up to the VHL. The idea of having an AHL system is solid but realistically speaking we don't have so many players that drop downs are really necessary. If a player is over the VHLM cap they are likely to be able to make an impact on a VHL team and there's room for them. There's also the issue of simming. What you are proposing is 4 distinct leagues, including 1 that would need be be simmed and run exclusively for inactive players. It's simply a lot of extra work for very little gain. We aren't like the NHL where players will hold their spot for 20 seasons or whatever. The turnaround is fast enough that there's always room for new guys.

The problem with this is that AGM positions seem to change every other week so with 28 teams now between the two leagues it was becoming near impossible to have any other job posting not get buried. Before we made those threads there was only 2 non-GM (or AGM) threads on the first page of job postings. It just became too much of a mess.

It's basically been done before but we never caught it. Not so much something that's "allowed" as much as something that was never noticed. We're trying to be more vigilant on it for the sake of the very unfortunate precedent it sets.

Voted 6, 3, 7 but I think I skimmed over 7 the first time around. Probably would have given 7 as my second choice and 3 as my 3rd choice.

Don’t care the reason, you can’t donate to other people. You may have legitimately lost a bet but we really have no way of knowing that so it opens a can of worms. @sterling can we get another refund please?
