It's the Republican way. They will do anything to try and steer the conversation away from themselves. All they want to hear about is bloody Clinton even though it's obvious that Comey's testimony as nothing to do with it. Checks and Balances in Government my ass. If the check and balances were working as they are supposed to then Trump would already be up for impeachment. The fact is Republicans are letting him get away with whatever he wants because they wouldn't dare do something that could harm themselves in the eyes of voters. It's clear to the entire world that Trump is a corrupt Sociopath but The House and the Senate don't dare enough to do anything about it.

The world cup has come and gone with team World finishing without a medal at 4th place after bringing home bronze in the Season 52 tournament. Neither result was quite what goaltender Jakab Holik was hoping for. While his teams never fully held him accountable for the losses they endured, Holik wound up being harder on himself. Unfortunately for the Czech netminder, who is entering his final season in the VHL, losses in the playoffs feel all to familiar, be they world cup or VHL. Holik has been to the playoffs in 4 straight VHL seasons, coming in with the first round bye in three of those. However he has never stepped foot onto the ice in the Continental cup finals. One could argue a lack of depth of star power has kept Holik from glory but often his stats tell the story. In those 4 seasons he has never had a GAA under 2.18 and never a S% above .917; a far stretch from his regular season statistics in the same years. While Holik's regular season statistics put him within Hall of Fame aspirations his abysmal playoff performances could easily result in his omission from the hall and the minds of VHL fans. Holik is hoping to oust those playoffs demons this season. The Americans enter Season 55 as underdogs without a doubt. Quebec, Stockholm, and Helsinki all have stronger teams on paper and younger men between the pipes. If Holik hopes to end his career on top, hoisting the continental cup as he never has before, he'll have to be able to topple the league's giants. The Americans have managed to acquire some extra help on defines, a major flaw they had in Holik's first year on the team, but will that be enough to counteract his age? The playoffs are quite a ways off to be even discussing right now but without a doubt Holik has his eyes focussed on finishing at the top. *For Holik

Both Cleganes had amazing playoff numbers and never touched Leadership. Wingate had mind-numbing playoff numbers and didn't update leadership until basically the very end. Leadership has been proven to do basically nothing. At this point though I feel like it can't just be shitty luck. Once playoffs hit there is something legitimately wrong with Holik and I can't establish what it is. Last season for example, my S% dropped 43 points from it's regular season total and my GAA jumped by over a full point. Goalie stats tend to drop a bit in the playoffs but that level of variance doesn't make a lick of sense.

Boy I wish I could. If I had to pick 1 thing that confuses me with Holik's career (a lot of things actually do) it's that somehow my regular season stats can be amazing but somehow I always choke in the playoffs. My attributes are no worse, my team plays the same, but somehow I shit the bed every time. No idea why.

As I understood it (though it's not explicitly said) the bonus is only available once. So you do 1 PT that's world Cup related and get the regular 6 for whichever player and the 3 bonus for both. For your other player's PT you can just do a normal one or do a world cup one without the extra bonus.

I definitely don't expect to beat the shutout record either. Would need to beat the single season record as well to do it and that doesn't seem likely in my last season, especially with the makeup of the league right now; it's more or less just fun to aim for. I'm perfectly content with 2nd place all-time which I only need 4 more to obtain. Sadly my trophy cabinet is pretty empty so I doubt I'll be sundered for the HoF the way the Clegane's are (even with comparable stats) but that is what it is. Top 3 in any stat 55 seasons into the league is impressive enough in my books; even if it is unlikely to hold as you pointed out.

STHS must deem these the playoffs which means it also deems me completely useless for reasons I can't explain.

Holik* wins championships! I mean not the continental cup of course but still.

Future Prospect > Active goalie for 8 games. I know you're just messing around, but just pointing it out. Even if that player stays down an extra season, you still have potentially 7 seasons with them. In exchange for that you got a guy that will ride pine 64/72 games (and he pissed about it since it's Zimmers).
