  1. @diamond_ace you should be good to go
  2. A rarity for sure; has only happened once before and he didn’t even make it a full career as D.
  3. Not a mess per say but you’d need to re-apply everything anyway haha. I’ll likely get you sorted once I get to work unless someone else handles it first.
  4. Rest sweet prince. Perhaps after 5 (at least) finals appearances I can finally finish off your quest for quad-gold club.
  5. I did warn you it was a manual process and wasn’t likely to be done immediately haha. Strictly speaking it’s also midnight PST that matters but I’m not gonna be an ass about it. I do hope you didn’t apply your TPE, makes changing o you over a lot easier

  8. Hello @Members! As discussed when we introduced the hybrid attributes a few seasons ago there’s a number of balancing “patches” that are likely to be required as things get sorted out. One of those we are rolling out today, to be put into operation for the S88 depreciation. For a bit now it has become clear that depreciation is not hitting as hard as intended since hybrid attributes rolled out. Our initial estimations on how players would depreciate simply didn’t pan out which means that TPA numbers in later seasons are higher than intended. For that reason we will be adjusting the depreciation numbers and fighters to the following: First year - 5% Second year - 8% Third/Fourth year - 12% Additionally the depreciation fighters are being adjusted as well: Still Kickin’ 5% Depreciation Old but not Forgotten 8% Depreciation The effect of the Jagr purchase will not be changed, however we are making it possible to purchase a Jagr in fourth year (AKA 9th season) depreciation which was previously not possible. As mentioned these changes will not affect the depreciation next season but will affect depreciation in S88 so plan accordingly. Additionally these changes only affect skaters, goalie depreciation will remain the same including the block of purchasing the Jagr in year 4. We hope these changes will bring depreciation numbers back to the expected amounts and make the fighting purchases worthy of their cost once again. Sincerely, @BOG @Commissioner
  9. Why you gotta call me out like that
  10. But like, they already have my replacement?
  11. The year is almost over which means it's time for everyone's favourite time of year in the VHL, the holiday celebration! From the charity drive to the auctions to the free TPE everyone loves the holidays in the VHL! This year, we've chosen The SickKids Foundation for our Canadian side and St. Jude's for our American side. These are, of course just our league-supported charities. As always, you are free to donate your funds to any registered charity anywhere in the world and count it towards the auction and our total numbers; all we ask is a screenshot proving the donation (though please remember to react ay personal information). 100% of the money raised by the league will be donated to the two organizations, and the VHL will not take any cut. On top of that the league has decided to one-up ourselves this year. After our first three charity drives have been huge we've decided to match up to $1000 when the final donation is put in. That means if the league donates $2500 total we'll put the donation up to $3500! In addition to the Donation Drive, we will also kick off our Charity Auction and 12 Days of Christmas. How will it all work? Essentially the same as past years, but here are the exact details for each portion of our holiday season for 2022: Charity Drive: December 11th - 24th Starting right now, members can begin donating. Whether you do so through the league, by donating HERE, privately to either organization, or any charitable foundation of your choosing (receipt proof required for donations made outside the league), it will all count towards the overall contribution from the league. From that overall contribution, the league will match donations up to $1000 CAD, and add that to the donations through the league, splitting the total contribution (money donated through the league + the league contribution) equally to both organizations. Please post all confirmations of donation, including Paypals through the league, auction wins, and private donations to THIS THREAD. Any donation of $5 CAD, or more, will result in an automatic personal reward of 2 Uncapped TPE + a Full Free Week (12 Capped TPE), as well as an entry to each of the first 3 tiers of the 12 Days of Christmas Raffle. Like last season as well we will be accepting blood donations in the charity drive. Blood is in high demand all year round, but especially at this time. Give the gift of life to someone. If you schedule and follow through with an appointment to donate blood that will count the same as a $5 donation and have the same rewards outlined above and below. For proof just post a photo from during your donation, it doesn’t need to include your face if you don’t want it to, a shot of the machine or your arm or whatever is fine, we’ll take your word for it. As this is the season of giving, members may also donate on behalf of one other user. Holiday Charity Auction: December 13th-20th @Acydburn will be posting the auction items in the next couple of days but for now the full rules from last season are available here, they will not be changing. Go buy something fun offered up by our community members. Auction wins will count as personal donations for the purpose of individual rewards. As always there are some amazing auction items that we're looking forward to this year so it should be fun. 12 Days of Christmas: December 12th - 23rd This year’s 12 Days of Christmas will be similar to last year’s, where there will be a daily thread to claim “tickets” into our final raffle, which will be drawn on a live stream. For this raffle, there will be 4 tiers of prizes, with each day contributing to your entry into each tier, as follows: Dec. 12 - 14: Post in the corresponding thread each day for an entry into the Tier 1 raffle (1 ticket gained per day) Dec. 15 - 17: Post in the corresponding thread each day for an entry into the Tier 2 raffle (1 ticket gained per day) Dec. 18 - 20: Post in the corresponding thread each day for an entry into the Tier 3 raffle (1 ticket gained per day) Dec. 21 - 23: Post in the corresponding thread each day for an entry into the Tier 4 raffle (1 ticket gained per day) Number of Winners per tier: Tier 1: 10 Winners Tier 2: 5 Winners Tier 3: 3 Winners Tier 4: 1 Winner Rewards and Donation Milestones As previously mentioned, there will be personal rewards to those who participate in the charity drive / holiday auction, as well as stretch goals to hit which will result in rewards for the community as a whole! $500 Community Donations: 2 Uncapped TPE for Everyone + @nurx will give a guided tour of Chattanooga $1000 Community Donations: 4 Uncapped TPE for Everyone + @Phil will host a Christmas themed DrunkCast $2000 Community Donations: PT Doubles Week for Everyone + @Beketov will host a live children's bedtime story stream (blame @Moon for this idea) $2500 Community Donations: 6 Uncapped TPE for Everyone + Christmas metal songs courtesy of @DarkSpyro $3500 Community Donations: 8 Uncapped TPE for Everyone + @Beketov will once again stream Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate and name animals after chat **Disclaimer: Rewards may only be applied to players created on, or before, December 25th, 2022** Let's do this @Members!
  12. This year the VHL has selected SickKids / St.Jude's as its charitable causes for the holiday season! Any donation of $5 or more will be eligible to claim 2 Uncapped TPE + a Full Free Week (12 Capped TPE), as well as an entry to each of the first 3 tiers of the 12 Days of Christmas Raffle. You may donate through the league via our paypal - the same as if you were to make a regular donation to the league. Once your donation has been made, please post your proof in this thread in order to claim your donation perks. You may also choose to donate directly to either organization, or any charitable organization of your choosing. Should you donate privately, please post a receipt for proof in this thread, in order to claim your donation perks. All donations through the league will go 100% to the charities (split evenly, with the CAD to USD conversion based on the day of donation, for St. Jude's). The league will also match up to $1000, total, of all money donated, be it through the league or privately. Additionally if you do not wish to donate monetarily you may donate blood or plasma and post proof of that donation (a photo during the donation will suffice) and you may claim the rewards listed above for that as well. Should the community raise the following amounts, everyone will be eligible to claim the corresponding perks: $500 Community Donations: 2 Uncapped TPE for Everyone + @nurx will give a guided tour of Chattanooga $1000 Community Donations: 4 Uncapped TPE for Everyone + @Phil will host a Christmas themed DrunkCast $2000 Community Donations: PT Doubles Week for Everyone + @Beketov will host a live children's bedtime story stream (blame @Moon for this idea) $3500 Community Donations: 8 Uncapped TPE for Everyone + @Beketov will once again stream Zoo Tycoon 2 Ultimate and name animals after chat Members wishing to donate for others may only do so for one other user. Happy fundraising!
  13. Always Sun-Mon when our “week” rolls over. The only kinda caveat is that it’s a manual process to flip the starting season over and it’s, well, the middle of the night. So if you’re the first Guinea pig you sometimes end up needing to be reset a bit. Chances are I’ll be up like an hour after the flip is supposed to happen though so I can do it.
  14. You don’t, BOG is unpaid.
  15. Welcome to the VHL, Jonny! We're happy to have you. You should have received a PM with some more detailed information, but to get started quickly you will want to head over to the "How to Create a Player" topic. That topic will offer you detailed information about how to use the VHL Portal to create your player and get you started. We also highly recommend joining the VHL Discord where there is a channel dedicated to helping new members with any questions that they may have about the league or improving their player. Once your player is made VHLM General Managers will be in touch with you about joining their teams. In the meantime, please feel free to ask any questions you have here or in your create-a-player thread. We're happy to have you in the community and we hope you stick around!

  17. This is why I will always be of the mindset that the VHL not have any kind of split cap. A job should just be a different way to earn, not allow people to earn above what any person without a job can earn. I shouldn't be able to automatically out earn someone else just because of the colour of my username, it's just a different way that I earn.
  18. Tagging me once is plenty, I’m not beetlejuice. Timecodes help. Also if you did say “as commish you MUST listen to this” then I probably wouldn’t; don’t you tell me what to do But yes, don’t rush things. I took over 8 years before I did anything more than grading or updating.
  19. Historically these numbers are far closer to what it was designed to be. People are just used to a couple of seasons of it being hyper inflated.-
  20. It's okay, everyone knows @Banackock does better when he goes into the playoffs as an underdog anyway.
  21. It wasn't just the weekly cap either, consider that PF didn't exist at the VHL level so in effect you get 13/week now without any additional uncapped and you got 9 (at best, it could vary based on grading) back then. So that's a difference of 4 TPE a week, 32 a season, 256 a career. That's just based on capping with absolutely nothing else. 1000 used to be the mark of an elite player, now it's just a milestone that's barely noticed haha
  22. Well yes but I’m not sure “all of the above are gonna be built exactly the same way anyway” is exactly the retention message we want haha.
  23. Assuming it makes a remotely good player to just have them evenly spaced out like that. I do find it funny that we always suggest not spacing things out which is exactly what that would have to do. We are trying to develop a “first gen flag” for a few other things so in theory we could have that window not appear for anyone re-creating easily enough I imagine. I’m just not sure if it would actually give anyone an okay start or not. Still, it’s a cool idea.
