  1. This is the start of my podcast series that revolves around interviews! Although it's with myself, the structure would remain the same across the board for other interviewees. Enjoy!
  2. Coming off an incredible season for the frenchman, Perry Laperriere is coming down from the excitement of winning the Founder's Cup in Ottawa with the Lynx. Toted as a first round prospect in the VHL draft, all eyes look to Sunday evening where the future of Laperriere will be decided. "I really don't have any particular preference where I play," Laperriere mentioned in a zoom call from home. "To me, each organization that has reached out to me offers a great environment to play and meet new teammates. That's what I'm really looking for." When asked about his goals for his career, Laperriere kept it professional. "As a player, I expect to perform at 100% each and every night. If that's scoring a lot of goals, great. If that's blocking a lot of shots and playing a lot of penalty kill opportunities, great. I just want to help whichever organization I play for succeed." What was telling though, was his views on being a one team player. "I don't ever want to be a player who constantly dips out on a team when the going gets tough. But I don't want to spend my entire career on a team that doesn't do well. I think realistically spending a few seasons with the team that drafts me is important, and then having the time to evaluate both my future and the team's future is equally important." "Right now, I'm focused on the draft," Laperriere continued. "I was just drafted by the Istanbul Red Wolves, so I know where I will be playing next season. However, I will be at the VHL draft location Sunday night to walk up on stage when a team calls my name in the first round. I felt I performed well in Ottawa and showcased why I'm ideal for any team in the VHL. The hard work continues each and every day as I keep getting better." With a calm demeanor and professional attitude, Perry Laperriere is primed for the future in the VHL. Time will tell where he will play, and we await patiently for his name to be called Sunday evening at the S82 VHL Draft.
  3. *Taken from the Istanbul Red Wolves Locker room on January 22nd, 2022* Here we go with our 2nd ever Istanbul Red Wolves awards! If anyone is tuning in live, thanks for being here. If you're reading this in the future after I've posted everything, thanks for being here! We had a great season that ultimately fell short of the ultimate goal. However, this team did extremely well and I'm more than happy with our performance. Without further ado, let's get into it! The Motivator award is given to the life and blood of the Istanbul Red Wolves. They interact with the team constantly and ensure that the locker room is a great place to be! Their dedication to the team is transparent in both their leadership and their presence. The nominees are… @Hogan @Daniel Janser @Masu Chan And the winner of The Motivator award is… @Hogan! Congratulations!! The Bruiser award showcases the physical leader on the team. Fights, hits, shots blocked, they made their presence known on the ice in every game. When the team needed some extra motivation, this player did exactly what we needed with big hits and big fights! The nominees are… @Ryan Li @DarkSpyro @Tape-to-Tape And the winner of The Bruiser award is… @Tape-to-Tape! Congratulations!! The Hunter award was the juggernaut of longevity. Every single game they played their heart out and left it all on the ice. No matter the case, whether PP or PK or even strength, they were instrumental to our success. This award does not always go to the points leader, but the player who put up some of the most minutes on the ice to contribute to the team. The nominees are… @Hogan @DarkSpyro @Kman And the winner of The Hunter award is… @Kman! Congratulations!! The Keeper award goes to the goalie on our roster who held the fort down between the pipes. This season, we have the privilege of having the statistical best goalie in the league and are extremely proud to have them on the team! While we did have a backup this season, they were inactive and served to only play the required amount of backup games. Therefore, there is only one person this award can go to… So congratulations @NickSunderbruch for putting the team on your back this season! The Alpha award. The MVP. The leader of the pack. There is no question here; this player exemplified the ultimate Red Wolves player this season and led by example on the ice and in the locker room. We were extremely honored to have them play for us this season and lead our team to the best record in the VHLE in S81! The nominees are… @NickSunderbruch @Hogan @Ryan Li And the winner of The Alpha award is… @Hogan! Congratulations!!! And that concludes our 2nd ever Istanbul Red Wolves awards! While this season did end without a cup, we ended as the number 1 team in the VHLE. We all did a fantastic job and I couldn’t have asked for a better season from anyone. Thank you all again for a great S81, and each of you deserve recognition for your efforts here in Istanbul. You will all have a place in the pack of the Red Wolves, always!
  4. Did we just undergo a quick name change?
  5. PRESS CONFERENCE - Week of January 16th, 2022 (Just answer at least 6 of the questions for 2 TPE) 1). Knocked out in Game 7. But the big question - did you enjoy this season here in Istanbul? 2). Did you think the VHLE finals were going to be over in 4 games? 3). Got any plans for your player this off-season? 4). How’s the weather where you live? 5). Who on the Red Wolves do you think deserves an award at the end of the season? 6). Do you celebrate/enjoy Valentine’s Day? Or is it a corporate marketing scheme to make us spend money? 7). Would you rather live near a beach, near mountains, or in a city? 8). Hypothetical: you have $100,000 to spend on anything you want. What do you spend it on? 9). What is one of your favorite places to go that you consider “your spot” to relax or unwind?
  6. So um... maybe I just shouldn't write any predictions about our team in the future lol
  7. Red Wolves, I'm utterly devastated with an overtime loss in game 7. It stinks. But sometimes that's the way things go. We clawed back from elimination to force an even series and gave it our all. And while our season doesn't end like we would want it, we did end the season as the best team in the VHLE. And I'm thrilled that we were able to come back from last season where we finished in last place. I'm proud of what this team accomplished this season. Each of you meant something to the team, and it was awesome to see you all band together and hype up the team when the going got tough. If you're returning next season, we've got some more big things planned. To those moving up to the VHL or retiring, it was both an honor and a privilege to have GMed you this season. I got to meet a lot of great members in the community and I can't wait to see how your players do in the future. Spaz and I will both be watching. Red Wolves, while our season now may be over, you solidified yourselves as the best Red Wolves team in our history. I have a feeling that some of our stats will stand for a long time. You all deserve recognition for your achievements. I will remember this team for a long time. The S81 Istanbul Red Wolves. The best team in the E. Once again, thank you all for supporting the team and being involved. Congrats on a great season, good luck in your future endeavors, and know this... Members of the Red Wolves pack are never forgotten. The pack plays together, the pack fights together, and the pack stands together.
  8. PRESS CONFERENCE - Week of January 9th, 2022 (Just answer at least 6 of the questions for 2 TPE) 1). Playoffs are really intense, do you see us coming back against Rome to advance to the finals? 2). If we were to go to the finals, who would you rather face - Stockholm or Cologne? 3). What is one thing that you are looking forward to in 2022? 4). Tell me about your favorite fast food place! 5). What was one of your favorite Christmas presents? 6). What TV show are you really into right now? 7). Who would be your playoff MVP on the Red Wolves? 8). Would you rather sit through a hurricane, a tornado, or an earthquake? 9). When you go to a hockey game, do you prefer a seat up high in the nose bleeds, middle of the stadium, or right up against the glass?
  9. Congratulations @Underclass_Hero!!!
  10. Completely unrelated but won my fantasy football championship tonight 🏆

  11. Since we were chatting a bit last night, you've got so much ahead of you! Everyone has storms in their lives, sometimes longer than you would want to go through. But there's always good things on the other side, trust me
  12. Thanks for the great listen! Not sure how other GMs in the E do things, but I usually build a google sheets with some other data points before I start sending out scouting messages. And I love google forms to export as a .csv to give me a big draft hub in one file. So I'm just quietly creeping in the corner until I have a good idea who I want to pursue
  13. PRESS CONFERENCE - Week of January 2nd, 2022 (Just answer at least 6 of the questions for 2 TPE) 1). With the season nearing its end, how do you feel your player did? 2). We currently sit in first place, but it's a close battle between Bratislava and Cologne. How likely do you think it is that we end the season in first place? 3). The new year is nearly upon us! Do you have any goals or resolutions for 2022? 4). Are you doing anything for New Year's Eve? 5). How was your Christmas? 6). Are you a multi account user? (I hope no one answers this with a yes ) 7). What was one of your favorite moments as a member of the Red Wolves? 8). Hypothetical: there's 10 seconds left on the clock. We have a faceoff in the offensive zone to the right of the goalie. We win the draw and the puck goes to you. Are you shooting on net or finding someone open for a pass to set something up? 9). Another hypothetical: You steal the puck from our opponent and rush into the offensive zone on a 2 on 1. Who do you want skating with you on our team when you get to the net?
