As you all know I have been going through a very rough time in my life at the moment that has put a lot of my hobbies on hold, but this is not the actual reason that I haven't been doing my VHL updates, though it may play into my forgetfulness I suppose. Embarassingly I had been locked out of my account because I forgot my password, and I forgot that there was a very simple option to reset my password until Dylan reminded me last week. So now that I am back, I have missed quite a lot, and my player is very far behind. I am not even sure if I am on a team or not, I have a lot of looking into things to do now. I hope that I can still be a useful player in the minors at the very least.

Lilith Lunar is feeling under the weather this week, she started out with a bad throat. At first she thought she just had this from spending too much time in the cold ice rink, but within two days it progressed into a cough, and the day after it progressed into sneezes, headaches and the lot. Today Lilith is stuck in bed, no training for her. She must rest to regain her strength, before future games. With a wet towel on her head and a flask of water by her bedside, Lilith is determined to get well again. 
In the meantime she has been feeling a little board, so she has been watching ice hockey documentaries on amazon prime, hoping to pick up some sweet tricks from the interviewed players, or at least just to learn more about the history of the game that she loves. At the very least it is something to keep her mind busy as she recovers.

Because of the summer heat, Lilith Lunar has been spending more time on the ice in order for herself to cool down a little. This is great since it means she can get in a little more practice than in previous weeks. The boat ride into the ice rink is treacherous though, the sun beats down onto the boat and there's nowhere to get away from the heat until the boat lands. To combat this Lilith has been carrying a portable fan, and drinking slushies on the boat. Her favourite slushy flavour is sour melon, it really helps her cool off, but if she drinks too fast she ends up with brain freeze. She doesn't want a headache as she practices her skating techniques so drinkings slushies can have its downside if she isn't careful. She has been going to the ice rink early in the morning and staying until late afternoon so that she can have an optimal amount of time in a cool place.

This week Lilith is changing up her style on the ice by bringing on a new accessory with her, in addition to her kit. What is this new accessory? It's her shoelaces. Her ordinary shoelaces that come with the kit are plain old white, pretty boring against the black boots that she wears, plus their white nature means that they stain easily which turns them a gross off-yellowy colour. no one wants to see that. Today she brought her laces from home, that her friend Ashton bought for her as a going-away present once she found out she had been drafted to the VHLM. These laces are rainbow in nature, they have a gradient from the top to the bottom of the lace that is made up of little pixelated squares that are printed on; pink, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple. These 6 colours blended together make a gorgeous rainbow that adds a splash of colour to the ice during a match. Hopefully this is a quirk that the fans will love.

Lilith Lunar feels like she has bitten off more than she can chew by moving up to the VHLM from her school's hockey team. Playing back home with Ashton was a fun hobby, but trying to make a career out of it is something else entirely. The pressure is really getting to her. When she thinks of her parents back home, who wanted her to pick a better career, she feels really ashamed that she is struggling right now. Maybe they were right all along? Training for the VHLM is much more intense than it was for her school days, and whilst her teammates are friendly, she doesn't get to hang out with them much outside of training hours, since she is so tired afterward, she just wants to go back home and sleep. She has been considering visiting the doctors to see if she can find a way to boost her energy in order to train better, but she isn't sure yet if this is her best option. Good luck to her.

Riley has decided to take a day off of training today because it is Easter. There are many things she can do this Easter, such as eat lots and lots of chocolate eggs, play bunny day on animal crossing, do some easter crafts, go on an easter egg hunt and lots more. Riley first went to the grocery shop to see what types of eggs are available to her. She didn't want those weird dairy eggs that come out of chicken's bums, no. She wanted the chocolatiest of all of the chocolatey eggs. She wanted the biggest chocolate egg in the store. It cost around £20 but her ice hockey star wage would allow for it. She took it home with her and ate a little piece at a time as she played the bunny day tasks on animal crossing. Collecting eggs to give to Zipper T. Bunny, and receiving bunny day baskets as a reward. She had a lot of fun but she realized she was only able to eat a small portion of her chocolate egg before she was stuffed and experiencing a sugar high. Time for a rest.

Something that is really great about the team is that they have a guide for how to do your training if you only have a few minutes spare to train within the week. This is great for Riley, since she has not been training often lately, so this means she can efficiently earn the most amount of experience for the free time that she has. Riley was hesitant about talking in the locker room at first due to bad locker room experiences in the past, however, this one seems very friendly and she already knew a lot of her friends in there before joining. So, I have realised that it is easier for me to write a VHL.com article rather than a PBE PT each week, so I have returned just to write these. Though I will not be active otherwise, my TPE should hopefully rise slightly which is better than nothing.
So what has Riley been doing lately? Whilst she hasn't been putting as many hours into her training as she had before, she has been turning up to matches to keep playing for Calgary, she has been a little stiffer on the ice because she has not been keeping up her fitness in between matches. Instead, Riley has just been resting and taking some time to herself to work on her health. Hopefully, Riley will continue to be alright during matches despite her lack of training lately. She hasn't even been talking to her team members very much which is probably not great for her morale but it is what it is.
