Game 17 Recap: A blast of the past from Malmo Nighthawks superstar goaltender King, Artem Tretiak @Molholt as Artem backstops Malmo to a 3 - 1 Victory over the Prague Phantoms in Game 17 of the VHL. The Nighthawks strikes hard in the first period with 3 goals to take a surprising lead in the game against the Phantoms. Why was it a surprise? Because the Phantoms outshot the Nighthawks 18 to 7 in the first period, but were down 3 - 0. In fact the game became a nonstop peppering of shots with no production for either teams until late in the third period by Darth Kaprizov @Darth Kaprizov who scored for the Phantoms to give Prague life, making the game 3 -1. Artem Tretiak stood on their head for the Win; stopping 50 of 51 shots faced! A 98% save%. Final shot count was 51 to 36 for the Phantoms over the Nighthawks. Malmo takes it 3-1.

Game 16 Recap: Toronto Legion had a dominant game from the ghetto. In fact the Legion won the game in the first period. Toronto Legion defeated the D.C. Dragons 7 to 3 in Game 16 of the VHL. Toronto outshot the Dragons in every single period. While D.C. tried to get back into the game in the second period, the Legion did not give them a chance as they sealed the deal in the third. 4 goals in the first by Toronto was enough to say Good Night, especially when they came in quick succession; 2 quick goals at 4:14 and 5:50 and then another two quick ones to end the period at 18:16 and 19:59. What a backburner with 1 second left in the first period to be down 4 - 0 for the Dragons. D.C. made it a game by scoring 2 in the second to make it 4 - 2, but Toronto's Kyle Peace @Peace came back with their own to close the second period 5 -2. Kyle Peace had a heck of a game and won Toronto the game himself. 3 Goals, 2 Assists, 5 Points, +5, 10 shots, 4 Hits, and a block shot. Definitely the player of the game!

S82 VHLM First Featured Game We are 130 games into the season in the VHLM, and it is time to do a little bit of a recap and talk about our first Featured Game of Season 82 in the VHLM! Our First Featured Game of Season 82 in the VHLM is of course the first game of the season in the VHLM. A match between the Halifax 21st and the Philadelphia Reapers. The Halifax 21st visited Philadelphia to face the Reapers in what we call the first lopsided game of the season! A game in which the Philadelphia Reapers crushed the Halifax 21st with a 5 - 1 victory, much to the delight of the home crowd. The first period opened with a quick goal by Curtis Crumb @Crummer77 just 1:36 into the game. This is the first shot of the game, the first shot of Season 82, the first goal of the game, and the first goal of the season in the VHLM in Season 82. And this must have been an exhilarating moment for the young defenseman, who is playing his first game for Philadelphia against his former Season 81 team in the Halifax 21st! Gus Bentley @boatsinking123 scored the second goal of the game at 6:00 into the first, giving the Reapers a 2 - 0 lead against the 21st. Philly leads 2 - 0 after one (period) out shooting Halifax 10 to 7. Philly had 2 power plays, Halifax with one. Neither team scored on the power play in the first period. Philadelphia Reapers took over the game in the Second period. @Azjha_59 Sam Azjha's early penalty was a costly one 2:22 into the second period. Alf Larsson @ng1291 scored their 1st of the season for the Reapers as the Reapers extend their lead to 3 - 0 on the power play. The Reapers had total control of the game at that point, as Halifax goaltender ChickenLittle @LiningPolecat stood on their head to keep the 21st in the game. The Reapers had massive pressure for the entire period except for (Alf) Larsson's Interference Minor, finally broke through in the last minute of play in the period on the Reapers' 5th Power Play of the game. Dylan Powers @dpowers49 scored the Reapers' 2nd power play marker of the night with 31 seconds left in the second period giving Philadelphia a commanding 4 - 0 lead heading into the third period. Philadelphia out shot Halifax 21 to 6 in the period. Now you must love the never give up mentality. Halifax's top guns certainly thought about it, as the 21st's stars Cooper Skambraks @CSkams15 and Doug Matchett @jacobaa19 worked hard together to score Halifax's 1st goal of the season 4:04 into the third period to stage the comeback, making the game 4 - 1. And the comeback begins! Ha, who am I kidding? The 21st shot themselves in the foot as they took four straight penalties in the period, which essentially took away any scoring chances and momentum they might have garnered from their early third period goal. In fact, the Philadelphia Reapers gave the 21st no room to breathe as they took their game to another level and bombarded ChickenLittle with 20 more shots in the period, finally solving the peppered goaltender at the end of the Reapers' fourth power play of the third period. Jarno Lappi @aksuko scored for the Reapers at 17:30 on the power play to make the game 5 - 1. The game ended 5 - 1 with the Reapers Win. Philadelphia had one of the most impressive periods in hockey in a long time, out shooting the 21st 20 to 2 in the third period. An overwhelming victory and an equally amazing shot total as Philly outshot Halifax 51 to 15 in the game. ChickenLittle made 46 of 51 saves in the loss, as Red Gaming @Lilpfigher had an easy quiet night, stopping 14 of 15 shots in the win. 3 Stars 1 - Gus Bentley (PHI) - 1G 2A 3Pts; 8 shots, 4 hits 2 - Curtis Crumb (PHI) - 1G on 1 shot, 2 shotblocks 3 - Alf Larsson (PHI) - 1G 1A 2Pts, 4 Shots, 2 Hits, but also 4 PIMs Halifax 21st went 0 for 2 on the Power Play. Philadelphia Reapers gone 3 for 9 on the Power Play. [word count 723]

What is wrong with the Houston Bulls? That is a question asked by the fans here in Houston. Too many things have been going wrong for the Bulls since the so called, now infamous, Scotty's article @fromtheinside; with the Houston Bulls now on a league leading four game losing streak. Now do you call the Bulls the worst team in the VHLM? Streaks happen to every team, only difference is good teams get out of losing streaks more quickly and stay in winning streaks longer. Production from the Bull's top end players have been ongoing, abide slowed, during this current league long losing streak, so that can't be the problem, now could it? Then, Is it goaltending? 96 of 111 saves. Okay, maybe. It doesn't look great. But is it the defense is just too darn bad and giving the keeper no help? You tell me! The Houston Bulls are the stingiest defensive team in the VHLM with a terrific 69 Goals Against. All their players are Plus players. They're also the second most offensive team with 110 Goals For. So what's the problem then? What's wrong with the Houston Bulls? Maybe there is nothing wrong with the Houston Bulls. They're just in a funk that every team goes through sometime during the season. Or, maybe it's the Special Teams. Over the last four games, the four game losing streak, the Houston Bulls have scored 1, yes one, Power Play Goal on 19 attempts. And allowed 4 goals on 14 penalties. That is a 5.263% PP% and a 71.429% PK%. That is not good at all! Their season average is 19.42% PP and 83.33% PK; a much more respectable %, but still not terrific. Maybe it really is the Special Teams. Only time will tell whether this is the case. But one thing is for sure, Houston we have a problem. [word count 312]

Season 82 in the VHLM has begun! A brand new season, a brand new team for big man defender, AirRig GoodBrandSun @Rhynex Entertainment. We found time to have a short chat with the recently drafted VHLM prospect. Reporter: Hello AirRig! It's good to see you again! Congratulations in getting drafted into the VHLM! You got drafted in the first round, 6th overall by the Houston Bulls! What are your thoughts to the draft and your new team? AG: Hello. It's been an amazing experience! The atmosphere was amazing! Houston was one of the few teams whom showed interested in my services, I just didn't expect to go so high up in the draft given how close I am to being forced into playing in the VHLE! I feel we have a good team here in Houston, definitely a good chance to win this season! A bunch of great teammates and lot's of competition! Reporter: You've had a good, fast start of the season. Already elapsing your points total from last season in 7 fewer games played. You have 2 goals and 11 assists for 13 points in 11 games, what are your thoughts on your performance so far in the season? AG: I've been doing okay, could definitely improve my game though. I didn't like the amount of penalty minutes I've been accumulating already, and definitely could get in front of more shots and hit more bodies. Reporter: Sounds good! Best of luck for the season! AG: Thank you! [word count 250]

Number 1 - Shiro Sagisu and Hazel Fernandes 6. You can never go wrong with the defending champs. They are the best until they are dethroned, even if they have digressed. -
SITR: Las Vegas Aces AJ Season 81 End of Season Interview Host: We are back! Thanks for tuning into VHL Network, Stick In The Rink! We are currently in the early stages of the 82nd Season of the VHL, VHLE, and VHLM, and it has already been a thrilling season! We had a chance to catch up with a special guest a few weeks back to discuss about Season 81 and the offseason. Now that the offseason is over, let's see how things have turned out! Let's have a look at the time capsulated Zoom video call with the AGM of the VHLM LAs Vegas Aces, @ajwllmsn! *** Few weeks before the Season 82 VHL, VHLE, and VHLM dispersal drafts… Host: Hello AJ! It is good to see you! Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to talk with us today! AJ: Thank you for having me! It's a pleasure to speak with you guys! Host: I know you must be quite busy with the draft and offseason coming right around the corner. So let's begin, what are your thoughts on the Las Vegas Aces' season in Season 81? Did the team meet expectations and year-end goals? Was there anything you would have done differently if you had a do over for the season? AJ: We were an amazing, competitive team this season and were not projected to do as well as we did. It was like something out of a movie, you take a team that basically had nothing, add some players/assets and watch the chemistry and wins grow throughout the season. I think the Las Vegas Aces went over and beyond most people's expectations especially my own. When I received ownership to the team, I predicted we would be a mid tier to bottom of the playoffs seeding team. But instead, the Aces made a lot of powerful trades, great signings, and the players improved (on TPE earning) a lot this season to make us a Founder's Cup contender. Aces players lead the league in stat categories during the regular season and playoffs. So many goals were reached this season for players and the team. I would not have done anything different. Everything happens for a reason, and with the team we had, I felt as if there was not much more improving we could have done throughout the season. I do wish I hired Mubble @MubbleFubbles right away though. We are a great duo and he had helped me out a lot during Season 81. Host: Who do you feel was the MVP for your team in Season 81? You'll be missing a lot of key players who helped you make the VHLM Finals, and you don't really have any top draft picks in the upcoming VHLM dispersal draft. What are your plans to replacing the missing components of the team? What is the direction Las Vegas Aces will be heading going forward? AJ: Alex TheGreat @Alex Thegreat hands down. He had an amazing season, leading the league in points and assists. The reason Julien Bernier @Julien_Bernier, Adeline Delle Donne @Dtayl, and Girts Galvins @Girts had so many points (mostly goals), was because of TheGreat's skill. He was basically like a virtual (Connor) McDavid, being so good that everyone around him looked good and performed well. A runner up would for sure be Thomas Price @Thunderidge though. Price came from Yukon's Founder's Cup Finalists team and stood on his head the entire season to bring us to the playoffs and the finals. We are losing a lot of players as it is natural for the VHLM to be great in one season, then lose it all the next with (TPE cap) player graduation. We did just recently complete a trade with Mississauga though, trading away three S83 picks (including a 2nd round) for five S82 picks in return (including a 3rd round). Although we do not have a lot of high round picks, we are not concerned as we believe our scouting strength will come in handy. With a very deep roster, having so many late round picks may benefit us for the future. Being able to draft players that have potential to be good this season by playoffs, but also will not be capped and will be able to return the following season. Las Vegas is heading on the way to success. We plan to build to never miss the playoffs and always be a top competitive team. One thing I never liked about the VHLM is the boom-bust cycle. You tank your season to stack draft picks and hope to be good and competitive the next season, just to do it all over again. It is painful to do and for your players to go through, so I never want to go down that path. Host: What are your thoughts toward the upcoming draft? Who looks to be on the top of the list for Las Vegas? Any plans of adding more picks and moving up in the draft? What type of players would you be looking at getting with the picks you have in your disposal? AJ: We are excited in Vegas! As stated above we have a lot more draft picks now, and after coming off a Founder's Cup Finals loss, we hope to bounce back and continue to be strong in the VHLM. Rumor has it that TheGreat could be making a return next season, so maybe you will all see his name again. Like I said before, the trade we made contained a 3rd and a 5th round pick coming to us, so we should be able to add some key players with that! We look to add players who are active. The way their skill and attributes are represented does not matter too much to us. As long as you are active and ready to grow (earn TPE) and improve, we want you in Vegas. Host: What are the team's objective this offseason? Drafting is an important part, but what about free agency? Is there a first priority and focus? Any more in-coming trades? AJ: Objectives for this off season would be to scout heavy for the draft, trying to find any hidden gems. Once the draft is complete and our roster is somewhat finalized, then the hunt for Free Agents will start. That is how I managed to take Thomas Price, a capped goaltender, last season. For in-coming trades, I am not sure, trades come when the time is right and at the moment we are open for whatever. Host: Let's change the subject a bit. Alex TheGreat had a fantastic season with the Aces and is one of the few remaining players left on the Aces' roster at this point of time. Do you think Alex will be able to replicate their spectacular season? Do you have any information on whether Alex will be moving East to Europe in the VHLE for Season 82? If Alex leaves, how do you plan to replace such an important player on your team? AJ: I definitely think Alex can replicate their most recent season if we get the tools necessary for the job. His success came from having amazing scoring built players on his line. At the moment we lack those type of players and are looking for replacements as the others are moving up to the VHLE. Alex should be coming back as he did show us interest in doing so. If he leaves, I really do not know how to replace someone like him. These players come out of nowhere and are almost great by luck (of STHS). We just happened to be lucky enough to stumble across the league's leading point scorer. Host: What are your expectations for Season 82 for the Las Vegas Aces? Which team do you feel has the best chance to win it all in the VHLM in Season 82? How do you feel about the direction the league is headed? AJ: I feel like we can mirror what we did in S81 and manage to stay in the top 4 all season. Ottawa is losing a lot of their players and most likely will not be as strong as their last two seasons. Teams who have the best shot in S82 would be Houston and Philadelphia. Houston is still going to be a competitor with a good core coming back next season, and will have a great draft ahead of them with lots of high round picks. Philadelphia falls in the same boat, they also have a great core coming back with a very top heavy draft as well. For the direction of the league, you only want to ever think in positives and hope for the best. One great thing they were talking about was to move waiver signings to the portal. It would seem like a huge benefit instead of the way we do them now. Host: It was a wild run of a season for you in Season 81! From being GM to being caught "cheating" and axed into being an AGM. How do you feel your season went? What would you have done differently? What are your plans going forward? AJ: The season was great! Even with my GM firing I had an amazing time and was happy to see the team perform so well. So many players improved because they were part of this team, and the team as a whole improved so much from the previous season, so it was awesome. I wouldn't have done much differently as we found success all season, only falling short in the finals. Our plans going forward are to keep the engine rolling, mirror our success from the last season and always stay as a competitor in the league. Host: Great! Looking forward to it! Is there any parting words you want to give to the audience and the fans out there? AJ: We put Vegas on the map of the VHLM again, do not be surprised when you see our names hanging from a banner under Founder's Cup Winners. We plan to always be successful and hopefully build that name for us so players will be happy to come play here. Host: Thank you for such a wonderful interview AJ! We hope to have you come on again in the future! Best of luck in the draft and free agency, and the upcoming season! Kisslinger II goals for upcoming season.
Rhynex Entertainment replied to Kisslinger's topic in Archived Media Spots
Very nice article! Good spacing and use of subtitle for each paragraphs. Nice and short paragraphs for an easy read. Adding a gif for bonus points. A bit ambitious for your goals, but ambitious is good when it comes to making goals. Sometimes when you break all your goals in your first year, looking for another breakthrough right off the bats in the second year will be extremely difficult. Maybe a more practical goal would be matching the same production and not get a sophomore slump but it is good to look at constant improvement and super seasons! Best of luck in smashing these new goals! 10.1/10 -
Sergey Preobrazhensky on His Promotion + WJC Recap
Rhynex Entertainment replied to Bulduray_1's topic in Archived Media Spots
Beautiful article! Picture, hyper-linked with tagged profile for each player names used, well structured paragraphs and excellent use of colour coding change for quotes spoken by the player themselves. Makes for a very enjoyable and easy read. It's always nice to be able to bring your play back home to play the game you love! But when you are the hometown boy, there's going to be the added pressure! Make sure to keep up the good work and make your player the best that they could be to not disappoint the hometown crowd. Best of luck in the VHL! 10/10 -
New York Americans Press Conference Questions

With the end of Season 81 and off-season underway, we found time to speak with VHL veteran and recent retiree, Rhynex Entertainment @Rhynex Entertainment Reporter: Hello Rhynex! Can we have a minute of your time? First thing first, congratulations on a fantastic VHL career! Could you tell us about your time in the VHL and how you feel about your final season? RE: Hello. Thank you! I've had a terrific career with the New York Americans. While we didn't get far into the playoffs, I still had an amazing time with all my teammates and all the fans here in New York! We definitely have the best fans here, even when we struggled over the past few seasons, they never stopped cheering! This season had been a very long season, but also my most productive! It's definitely the best way to leave the VHL, I couldn't find anything better except maybe winning the championship. I have career highs in pretty much everything, so it was a great season. Sad to see things end, but New York is about to enter a bright new era! And I depart with giving them a pretty nice gift also (1st overall pick). Reporter: What are your most forgettable or regrettable thing in your hockey career? What are your plans for the future? RE: What I regret the most is not being able to bring New York deep into the playoffs. The fans here deserves seeing the champion runs and not rows of losses. I don't really have anything planned as of right now. Maybe just relax and then perhaps I'll start coaching somewhere. Maybe someone will hire me? Reporter: Do you have any leaving remarks for your fans? RE: This is not the end and not goodbye! There's going to be exciting times in New York! A new era is about to being, and it's going to be nice and bright! Go NYA Go! Reporter: Thank you for your time! Best of luck in the next endeavors ! [word count 334]
